Abstract
Description
図11は、従来の摩擦撹拌点接合時のツール温度と本願の摩擦撹拌点接合時のツール温度とを比較したグラフである。図12は、従来の摩擦撹拌点接合よる接合部と本願の摩擦撹拌点接合による接合部との各断面写真である。図11及び12から分かるように、従来の摩擦撹拌点接合では、ツール温度の最大値がワークのAc3態点よりも高くオーステナイト変態したため、焼入れにより組織硬化(脆化)が顕著に生じているが、本願の摩擦撹拌点接合では、ツール温度の最大値がワークのAc3変態点より低くオーステナイト変態が完了していないため、焼入れによる組織硬化が抑制されている。しかも、本願の摩擦撹拌点接合では、ツールでは、ツール温度の最大値が700℃以上で十分に高いため、ワークの塑性流動域の流動性が十分に高い状態で円滑な撹拌が行われ、綺麗で滑らかな接合断面が形成されている。なお、ここまでは加圧力を制御対象とした例を挙げたが、押込み量(即ち、ツール位置)を制御対象としてもよい。

Claims (8)
- 複数の板材を重ね合わせて点接合する摩擦撹拌点接合装置であって、
前記複数の板材の重ね合わせ部とツールとを互いに相対変位させる変位駆動器と、
前記ツールを回転させる回転駆動器と、
前記重ね合わせ部に前記ツールを回転させた状態で押し込んで摩擦撹拌点接合をするように前記変位駆動器及び前記回転駆動器を制御するコントローラと、を備え、
前記コントローラは、摩擦撹拌点接合中において、前記回転駆動器を制御して前記ツールの回転数を前記ツールの温度が前記重ね合わせ部の接合温度と同じとみなせる所定回転数以下の値に設定し、かつ、前記変位駆動器を制御して前記ツールの温度が所定の設定範囲に保たれるように前記ツールの加圧力又は押込み量を増減調整する温度保持制御を実行する、摩擦撹拌点接合装置。 - 前記温度保持制御では、
前記ツールの温度が前記設定範囲内にあるとき、前記ツールの加圧力又は押込み量が所定の変動パターンにて増減を繰り返すように前記変位駆動器が制御され、
前記ツールの温度が前記設定範囲を上回ると、前記ツールの加圧力又は押込み量が減少するように前記変位駆動器が制御され、
前記ツールの温度が前記設定範囲を下回ると、前記ツールの加圧力又は押込み量が増加するように前記変位駆動器が制御される、請求項1に記載の摩擦撹拌点接合装置。 - 前記温度保持制御では、
前記ツールの温度が前記設定範囲を上回ると、前記変動パターンの周波数又は最大加圧力の付与時間の少なくとも一方が減少するように前記変位駆動器が制御され、
前記ツールの温度が前記設定範囲を下回ると、前記変動パターンの周波数又は最大加圧力の付与時間の少なくとも一方が増加するように前記変位駆動器が制御される、請求項2に記載の摩擦撹拌点接合装置。 - 前記コントローラは、前記温度保持制御中おいて前記ツールが前記重ね合わせ部の所定の完了深さに到達したと判定されると、前記変位駆動器を制御して前記ツールを前記重ね合わせ部から引き抜く、請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の摩擦撹拌点接合装置。
- 前記コントローラは、前記温度保持制御の実行前において、前記ツールの回転数が前記温度保持制御時よりも高い状態で前記ツールを前記重ね合わせ部に圧入するように前記回転駆動器及び前記変位駆動器を制御する初期圧入制御を実行する、請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の摩擦撹拌点接合装置。
- 前記コントローラは、前記ツールの温度として、前記重ね合わせ部に対する前記ツールの接触面から2mm以内の領域の前記ツールの内部温度を取得する、請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の摩擦撹拌点接合装置。
- 前記コントローラは、前記温度保持制御中に、更に、前記回転駆動器を制御して前記ツールの温度が所定の設定範囲に保たれるように前記ツールの回転数を調整する、請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項に記載の摩擦撹拌点接合装置。
- 複数の板材を互いに重ね合わせて点接合する摩擦撹拌点接合方法であって、
前記複数の板材の重ね合わせ部にツールを回転させた状態で押し込んで摩擦撹拌点接合を開始する工程と、
前記摩擦撹拌点接合中に、前記ツールの温度が前記重ね合わせ部の接合温度と同じとみなせる回転数で前記ツールを回転させる工程と、
前記摩擦撹拌点接合中に、前記ツールの温度が所定の設定範囲に保たれるように前記ツールの加圧力又は押込み量を調整する工程と、を備える、摩擦撹拌点接合方法。
