ことによって、被接合材として高強度鋼板、特に、引張強さ(TS)が980MPa以上の鋼板を使用する場合にも、高い継手強度を得られる、との知見を得た。
(a)接合部の凹部の最深点の鉛直方向位置について、被接合材となる鋼板の下側合せ面を基準位置として、-0.5mm以下、および、-TL×0.50以下のうちの少なくとも一方を満足させる。

[1]摩擦攪拌点接合継手
まず、本発明の一実施形態に従う摩擦攪拌点接合継手について、図1を用いて説明する。なお、図1では、被接合材となる鋼板が2枚の場合を例としている。ここで、図1は、接合部の凹部の中心位置を通る、摩擦攪拌点接合継手の鉛直断面(以下、単に鉛直断面ともいう)であり、各部の位置などは、いずれも当該鉛直断面でのものである。
接合部は、図1に示すように、凹部2-1と、該凹部に隣接する第1の流動部2-2と、該第1の流動部に隣接する第2の流動部2-3と、該第1の流動部と該第2の流動部の境界である接合界面2-4と、を有する。
すなわち、接合部の凹部の中心位置を通る、摩擦攪拌点接合継手の鉛直断面を研磨し、ピクリン酸飽和水溶液でエッチングする。ついで、当該鉛直断面を光学顕微鏡で観察し、母材組織と流動部におけるエッチングの度合いなどから、第1の流動部および第2の流動部を画定する。そして、確定した第1の流動部と第2の流動部の境界を接合界面とする。
ここで、上板および下板はそれぞれ、重ね合わせた2枚以上の鋼板のうち、最上部に位置する鋼板および最下部に位置する鋼板であり、
TUは、上板の鋼板の板厚(mm)、
TLは、下板の鋼板の板厚(mm)、
上側合せ面は、上板と、該上板に隣接する鋼板との合せ面、
下側合せ面は、下板と、該下板に隣接する鋼板との合せ面
である。
また、鉛直方向位置は、基準位置よりも上側の場合を+、下側の場合を-とする。水平方向位置は、基準位置からの距離(基準位置を0とし、-にはならない(負の値はとらない)もの)とする。
凹部の最深点のレベルについて、被接合材となる鋼板の下側合せ面を基準位置として、-0.5mm以下、および、-TL×0.50以下のうちの少なくとも一方を満足させる。これにより、接合界面が強化され、被接合材として高強度鋼板を使用する場合にも、高い継手強度が得られる。なお、特に限定されるものではないが、凹部の最深点のレベルは-TL×0.90以上とすることが好ましい。
接合界面の最高点のレベルは、被接合材となる鋼板の上側合せ面を基準位置として、+TU×0.50以上とする。好ましくは+TU×0.60以上とする。これにより、接合界面が強化され、被接合材として高強度鋼板を使用する場合にも、高い継手強度が得られる。なお、接合界面の最高点のレベルは高いほど好ましく、例えば、ツールのショルダー部の周囲からバリとして外部に排出される領域まで接合界面の最高点が到達していてもよい。接合界面の最高点のレベルは、より好ましくは+TU×0.98以下である。
接合部における所定領域のミクロ組織を、ポリゴナルフェライトの体積率:70%以上99%以下、および、硬質相の体積率:1%以上30%以下であり、かつ、ポリゴナルフェライトの平均アスペクト比:3.0以下とする。これにより、被接合材として高強度鋼板を使用する場合にも、接合部において良好な靭性が得られ、ひいては高い継手強度が得られる。一方、ポリゴナルフェライトの体積率、硬質相の体積率およびポリゴナルフェライトの平均アスペクト比のうちの少なくとも1つが上記の範囲外になると、被接合材として高強度鋼板を使用する場合に、接合部において良好な靭性が得られない。その結果、継手強度も低下する。
また、残部組織の体積率は、次式により算出する。

すなわち、図1に示す摩擦攪拌点接合継手の鉛直断面(接合部の凹部の中心位置を通る、摩擦攪拌点接合継手の鉛直断面)の接合部における所定領域が観察面となるように、摩擦攪拌点接合継手から試験片を切り出す。ついで、試験片の観察面を研磨後、3vol.%ナイタールでエッチングし、組織を現出させる。ついで、接合部における所定領域について、接合界面よりも凹部側の領域(第1の流動部)から4視野、接合界面よりも凹部反対側(凹部から遠い側)の領域(第2の流動部)から2視野の合計6視野を、SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope;走査電子顕微鏡)により、倍率:10000倍で撮影する。ついで、得られた組織画像から、Adobe Systems社のAdobe Photoshopを用いて、ポリゴナルフェライトおよび硬質相の面積を6視野分算出する。ついで、視野ごとに算出したポリゴナルフェライトおよび硬質相の面積をそれぞれの視野領域の面積で除する。そして、それらの値の算術平均値をそれぞれ、ポリゴナルフェライトおよび硬質相の体積率とする。
すなわち、ポリゴナルフェライトおよび硬質相の体積率の測定で得られた組織画像において、ポリゴナルフェライトに確定した領域で観察される結晶粒を、視野ごとに任意に5個選択する。選択した5個の結晶粒について、長径と短径を求め、長径を短径で除する。そして、それらの値の平均値を、ポリゴナルフェライトの平均アスペクト比とする。
なお、長径とは、結晶粒の重心を通る直線上で最大となる、結晶粒の径である。短径とは、結晶粒の重心を通る直線上で最小となる、結晶粒の径である。
すなわち、十字引張試験では、接合界面の周囲で破断する場合がある。この際、破断起点は、接合界面の近傍かつ上側合わせ面を基準として鉛直方向位置:+TU×0.20~+TU×0.50の領域に相当し、特に、凹部の中心位置を基準位置として水平方向位置:接合界面の位置-400μm~接合界面の位置+100μmの領域を破断経路とする場合が多い。そのため、接合部においてミクロ組織を特定する領域を、上記の領域とした。
例えば、鉛直方向位置:+TU×0.20における接合界面の水平方向位置と、鉛直方向位置:+TU×0.50における接合界面の水平方向位置とは必ずしも一致するわけではない。そのため、鉛直方向位置:+TU×0.20における接合界面-400μmの水平方向位置と、鉛直方向位置:+TU×0.50における接合界面-400μmの水平方向位置も、必ずしも一致するわけではない。
接合部の平均硬度を、400HV以下とする。これにより、被接合材として高強度鋼板を使用する場合にも、接合部において良好な靭性が得られ、ひいては高い継手強度が得られる。一方、接合部の平均硬度が400HVを超えると、被接合材として高強度鋼板を使用する場合に、接合部において良好な靭性が得られない。その結果、継手強度も低下する。なお、接合部の平均硬度は、好ましくは380HV以下である。また、接合部の平均硬度は、好ましくは250HV以上である。
すなわち、図1に示す摩擦攪拌点接合継手の鉛直断面(接合部の凹部の中心位置を通る、摩擦攪拌点接合継手の鉛直断面)を測定面とする。そして、当該測定面において鋼板の上側合せ面と同じ鉛直方向位置(レベル)における接合界面の位置を起点とし、水平方向に凹部に向かって、試験力=2.942N、測定間隔=0.2mmの条件で(凹部に到達するまで)ビッカース硬さ(HV)を測定する。そして、これらの測定値の算術平均値を、接合部の平均硬度とする。
環状溝部は、図1に示すように、接合部の上面に形成される。また、環状溝部は、接合部の上面において、凹部を取り囲むように配置される。すなわち、環状溝部は、接合時に、ツールのショルダー部と上板とが接触することにより形成される。環状溝部が形成されることにより、接合界面が強化され、被接合材として高強度鋼板を使用する場合にも、高い継手強度が得られる。
被接合材となる鋼板の枚数は2枚以上とすればよい。被接合材となる鋼板の枚数の上限は特に限定されるものではないが、被接合材となる鋼板の枚数は5枚以下が好ましい。被接合材となる鋼板には、全て同じ鋼種の鋼板を使用してもよく、異なる鋼種の鋼板を使用してもよい。
C:0.10%以上、
SiおよびAl:合計で0.5%以上、
Mn:1.5%以上、
P:0.10%以下、
S:0.050%以下、ならびに、
N:0.010%以下
であり、残部がFeおよび不可避的不純物である成分組成を有する鋼板を使用することが好適である。なお、成分組成における単位はいずれも「質量%」であるが、以下、特に断らない限り、単に「%」で示す。
Cは、鋼板の高強度化に有効な元素である。また、Cは、接合部における所定領域のミクロ組織で(硬質相に該当する)炭化物の形成にも有効に寄与するする元素である。そのため、Cの含有量は0.10%以上が好ましい。Cの含有量は、より好ましくは0.15%以上である。なお、特に限定されるものではないが、耐遅れ破壊特性の低下を防止する観点から、Cの含有量は1.0%以下が好ましい。
SiおよびAlは、接合部における炭化物の過剰な形成を抑制し、接合部の靭性低下を抑制する元素である。そのため、SiおよびAlの含有量は合計で0.5%以上が好ましい。なお、特に限定されるものではないが、めっき性の低下を防止する観点から、SiおよびAlの含有量は合計で4.0%以下が好ましい。
Mnは、固溶強化および(第2相である)硬質相を生成することにより、高強度化に寄与する元素である。また、Mnは、オーステナイトを安定化させ、硬質相の分率制御にも有効な元素である。そのため、Mnの含有量は1.5%以上が好ましい。なお、特に限定されるものではないが、めっき性の低下を防止する観点から、Mnの含有量は10%以下が好ましい。
Pが過剰に含有された場合、Pの粒界への偏析が著しくなり、粒界を脆化させるおそれがある。そのため、Pの含有量は0.10%以下が好ましい。なお、特に限定されるものではないが、Pの含有量の極低化は製鋼コストの上昇を招くため、Pの含有量は0.005%以上が好ましい。
Sの含有量が多い場合、MnSなどの硫化物が多く生成し、継手強度が低下するおそれがある。そのため、Sの含有量は0.050%以下が好ましい。なお、特に限定されるものではないが、Sの含有量の極低化は製鋼コストの上昇を招くため、Sの含有量は0.0002%以上が好ましい。
Nは、粗大な窒化物を形成することにより、継手強度を低下させるおそれがある。そのため、Nの含有量を低減することが好ましく、Nの含有量は0.010%以下が好ましい。なお、特に限定されるものではないが、Nの含有量の極低化は製鋼コストの上昇を招くため、Nの含有量は0.0005%以上が好ましい。
Nb:0.050%以下、
Ti:0.050%以下、
B:0.0050%以下、
V:0.05%以下、
Cr:0.50%以下、
Mo:0.50%以下、
Co:0.50%以下、
Cu:0.50%以下、
Ni:0.50%以下、
Sb:0.020%以下、ならびに、
CaおよびREM:合計で0.010%以下
から選択される1種以上を含有させることができる。
Nbは、微細な炭窒化物を形成し、旧オーステナイト粒径を微細化する。これにより、継手強度の向上に寄与する。このような効果を得る観点から、Nbの含有量は0.005%以上が好ましい。一方、Nbを過剰に含有すると、伸びの低下を招く。また、連続鋳造後にスラブ割れが生じ易くなる。そのため、Nbを含有させる場合、その含有量は0.050%以下が好ましい。Nbの含有量は、より好ましくは0.045%以下、さらに好ましくは0.040%以下である。
Tiも、Nbと同様に、微細な炭窒化物を形成し、旧オーステナイト粒径を微細化する。これにより、継手強度の向上に寄与する。このような効果を得る観点から、Tiの含有量は0.005%以上が好ましい。Tiの含有量は、より好ましくは0.008%以上である。一方、Tiを過剰に含有すると、伸びの低下を招く。そのため、Tiを含有させる場合、その含有量は0.050%以下が好ましい。Tiの含有量は、より好ましくは0.045%以下である。
Bは、焼入れ性を向上させ、フェライトやパーライトの生成を抑制する。これにより、母材強度および継手強度の向上に寄与する。このような効果を得る観点から、Bの含有量は0.0002%以上が好ましい。一方、Bの含有量が0.0050%を超えると、効果が飽和する。そのため、Bを含有させる場合、その含有量は0.0050%以下が好ましい。
Vは、微細な炭窒化物を形成することにより、強度上昇に寄与する元素である。このような効果を得る観点から、Vの含有量は0.005%以上が好ましい。一方、Vの含有量が0.05%を超えると、強度上昇効果は小さくなる。また、コストの上昇を招く。そのため、Vを含有させる場合、その含有量は0.05%以下が好ましい。
Crは、硬質相を生成することにより、高強度化に寄与する元素である。このような効果を得る観点から、Crの含有量は0.05%以上が好ましい。一方、Crの含有量が0.50%を超えると、マルテンサイトが過剰に生成して面欠陥が発生しやすくなる。そのため、Crを含有させる場合、その含有量は0.50%以下が好ましい。Crの含有量は、より好ましくは0.45%以下である。
Moも、Crと同様、硬質相を生成することにより、高強度化に寄与する元素である。また、Moは、一部炭化物を生成して高強度化に寄与する元素でもある。このような効果を得る観点から、Moの含有量は0.05%以上が好ましい。一方、Moの含有量が0.50%を超えると、効果が飽和し、コストの上昇を招く。そのため、Moを含有させる場合、その含有量は0.50%以下が好ましい。Moの含有量は、より好ましくは0.32%以下である。
Coは、水素過電圧を増加させることにより、耐遅れ破壊特性の向上に寄与する元素である。このような効果を得る観点から、Coの含有量は0.05%以上が好ましい。Coの含有量は、より好ましくは0.10%以上である。一方、Coの含有量が0.50%を超えると、効果が飽和し、コストの上昇を招く。そのため、Coを含有させる場合、その含有量は0.50%以下が好ましい。Coの含有量は、より好ましくは0.32%以下である。
Cuは、固溶強化により高強度化に寄与する元素である。また、Cuは、硬質相を生成することによっても高強度化に寄与する。このような効果を得る観点から、Cuの含有量は0.005%以上が好ましい。一方、Cuの含有量が0.50%を超えると、効果が飽和し、コストの上昇を招く。また、Cuに起因する表面欠陥が発生しやすくなる。そのため、Cuを含有させる場合、その含有量は0.50%以下が好ましい。
Niは、Cuと同様、固溶強化により高強度化に寄与する元素である。また、Niは、硬質相を生成することによっても高強度化に寄与する。また、Niは、Cuと同時に含有させると、Cuに起因する表面欠陥を抑制する効果がある。そのため、Cuを含有させる場合に、同時に含有させることが有効である。このような効果を得る観点から、Niの含有量は0.005%以上が好ましい。一方、Niの含有量が0.50%を超えると、効果が飽和する。そのため、Niを含有させる場合、その含有量は0.50%以下が好ましい。
Sbは、鋼板表層部での脱炭層の形成を抑制することにより、高強度化に寄与する。このような効果を得る観点から、Sbの含有量は0.001%以上が好ましい。一方、Sbの含有量が0.020%を超えると、圧延負荷荷重が増大し、生産性が低下する。そのため、Sbを含有させる場合、その含有量は0.020%以下が好ましい。
CaおよびREMは、硫化物の形状を球状化することにより、高強度化に寄与する元素である。このような効果を得る観点から、CaおよびREMの含有量は、合計で0.0005%以上が好ましい。一方、CaおよびREMの含有量が合計で0.010%を超えると、効果が飽和する。そのため、Caおよび/またはREMを含有させる場合、それらの含有量は、合計で0.010%以下とすることが好ましい。また、CaおよびREMの含有量は、合計で0.0050%以下とすることがより好ましい。
なお、上記の任意添加元素について、その含有量が(好適)下限値未満の場合には、その任意添加元素を不可避的不純物として含むものとする。
つぎに、本発明の一実施形態に従う摩擦攪拌点接合方法、および、本発明の一実施形態に従う摩擦攪拌点接合継手の製造方法について、説明する。
ショルダー部と該ショルダー部から突出するピン部とを有するツールを回転させながら、該ピン部を被接合材である重ね合わせた2枚以上の鋼板に圧入し、該鋼板を接合する、摩擦攪拌点接合方法であって、
前記ツールの回転速度を、接合中に、初期回転速度から1回以上変化させ、
前記ツールの圧入最大深さの鉛直方向位置が、前記鋼板の下側合せ面を基準位置として、-0.5mm以下、および、-TL×0.50以下のうちの少なくとも一方を満足し、かつ、前記ツールが圧入最大深さに到達した際に前記ショルダーと上板とが接触する状態であり、
最高到達温度が600℃以上750℃以下であり、
次式(1)を満足する、というものである。

ここで、
R1はツールの初期回転速度(rpm)、
Rfはツールの最低回転速度(rpm)、

また、上板および下板はそれぞれ、重ね合わせた2枚以上の鋼板のうち、最上部に位置する鋼板および最下部に位置する鋼板であり、
TLは、下板の鋼板の板厚(mm)、
下側合せ面は、下板と、該下板に隣接する鋼板との合せ面
である。
さらに、鉛直方向位置は、基準位置よりも上側の場合を+、下側の場合を-とする。
加えて、本発明の一実施形態に従う摩擦攪拌点接合方法は、上記の本発明の一実施形態に従う摩擦攪拌点接合継手を得るための方法である。
加えて、本発明の一実施形態に従う摩擦攪拌点接合継手の製造方法は、上記の本発明の一実施形態に従う摩擦攪拌点接合継手を製造するための方法である。
ツールの圧入最大深さの鉛直方向位置について、鋼板の下側合せ面を基準位置として、-0.5mm以下、および、-TL×0.50以下のうちの少なくとも一方を満足させつつ、ツールが圧入最大深さに到達した際にショルダーと被接合材の上板とが接触する(ショルダーにより被接合材が押圧されている)状態とする。ツールの圧入深さの鉛直方向位置を適切に制御することにより、材料流動を促進して、接合界面の最高点を、より高い位置とすることが可能となる。また、ショルダーと被接合材の上板とを接触させることにより、重ね合わせた鋼板同士がより密着し、接合界面が強化される。なお、特に限定されるものではないが、ツールの圧入深さの鉛直方向位置は、-TL×0.90以上とすることが好ましい。
接合中の接合部の最高到達温度を600℃以上750℃以下とする。これにより、接合部における所定領域のミクロ組織を、ポリゴナルフェライトの体積率:70%以上99%以下、および、硬質相の体積率:1%以上30%以下とすることが可能となる。最高到達温度は、好ましくは640℃以上である。また、最高到達温度は、好ましくは720℃以下である。
すなわち、ツールの内部、具体的には、接合部と接触するツールのピン部先端近傍に、熱電対を設置する。そして、ツール内部の熱電対により、接合中の温度(接合部で上昇した温度)を連続的に計測する。そして、計測した接合中の最高温度を、最高到達温度とする。
ツールの回転速度を、接合中に、初期回転速度から1回以上変化させ、次式(1)を満足させる。これにより、接合部における所定領域のミクロ組織において、ポリゴナルフェライトの平均アスペクト比:3.0以下とすることが可能となる。

Rf/R1は好ましくは0.50以下である。また、Rf/R1は好ましくは0.10以上である。
さらに、接合時間は3~60秒とすることが好ましい。
なお、ツールの形状は、ショルダー径:10mm、ピン径:4.8mm、ピン側面の傾斜角:10°とし、ピン長は接合条件に応じて1.8mm~4.6mmとした。また、試料番号16、18以外では、回転速度の切り替えを行った。回転速度の切り替えを行ったもののうち、試料番号24以外については、回転速度の切り替えをいずれも1回とした。また、試料番号24については、回転速度の切り替えを2回とした。いずれの場合も、回転速度を切り替えるタイミングは、上板の上面からのツール圧入深さを基準とした(表3に記載の「切替時のツール圧入深さ」は、上板の上面からのツール圧入深さである。)。また、回転速度を切り替えるタイミングで、加圧力も切り替えた。
また、ツールが圧入最大深さに到達した際に、目視により、ショルダーの外周部と上板の接触状態を確認したところ、試料番号13では、ショルダーの外周部と上板とが接触していなかった。一方、試料番号13以外のものはいずれも、ツールが圧入最大深さに到達した際にショルダーの外周部と上板とが接触していた。参考のため、図2に、試料番号13の摩擦攪拌点接合継手(環状溝部を有さない摩擦攪拌点接合継手)の鉛直断面の模式図を示す。
一方、比較例では、十分な継手強度が得られなかった。

Claims (10)
- 重ね合わせた2枚以上の鋼板と、該鋼板の接合部と、該接合部の上面の環状溝部と、を有する、摩擦攪拌点接合継手であって、
前記接合部は、凹部と、該凹部に隣接する第1の流動部と、該第1の流動部に隣接する第2の流動部と、該第1の流動部と該第2の流動部の境界である接合界面と、を有し、
前記凹部の最深点の鉛直方向位置が、前記鋼板の下側合せ面を基準位置として、-0.5mm以下、および、-TL×0.50以下のうちの少なくとも一方を満足し、
前記接合界面の最高点の鉛直方向位置が、前記鋼板の上側合せ面を基準位置として、+TU×0.50以上であり、
前記接合部において、
前記鋼板の上側合せ面を基準位置として鉛直方向位置:+TU×0.20~+TU×0.50で、
前記凹部の中心位置を基準位置として水平方向位置:前記接合界面の位置-400μm~前記接合界面の位置+100μm
の領域のミクロ組織が、
ポリゴナルフェライトの体積率:70%以上99%以下、および、
硬質相の体積率:1%以上30%以下
であり、かつ、該ポリゴナルフェライトの平均アスペクト比:3.0以下であり、
前記鋼板の上側合せ面と同じ鉛直方向位置での接合部の平均硬度が400HV以下である、摩擦攪拌点接合継手。
ここで、上板および下板はそれぞれ、重ね合わせた2枚以上の鋼板のうち、最上部に位置する鋼板および最下部に位置する鋼板であり、
TUは、上板の鋼板の板厚(mm)、
TLは、下板の鋼板の板厚(mm)、
上側合せ面は、上板と、該上板に隣接する鋼板との合せ面、
下側合せ面は、下板と、該下板に隣接する鋼板との合せ面
である。
また、鉛直方向位置は、基準位置よりも上側の場合を+、下側の場合を-とする。水平方向位置は、基準位置からの距離とする。 - 前記鋼板のうちの少なくとも1枚の鋼板の成分組成が、質量%で、
C:0.10%以上、
SiおよびAl:合計で0.5%以上、
Mn:1.5%以上、
P:0.10%以下、
S:0.050%以下、ならびに、
N:0.010%以下
であり、残部がFeおよび不可避的不純物である、請求項1に記載の摩擦攪拌点接合継手。 - 前記成分組成が、さらに質量%で、
Nb:0.050%以下、
Ti:0.050%以下、
B:0.0050%以下、
V:0.05%以下、
Cr:0.50%以下、
Mo:0.50%以下、
Co:0.50%以下、
Cu:0.50%以下、
Ni:0.50%以下、
Sb:0.020%以下、ならびに、
CaおよびREM:合計で0.010%以下
から選択される1種以上を含有する、請求項2に記載の摩擦攪拌点接合継手。 - 前記鋼板のうちの少なくとも1枚の鋼板の引張強さが980MPa以上である、請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の摩擦攪拌点接合継手。
- 前記鋼板のうちの少なくとも1枚の鋼板が表面にめっき層を有する、請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の摩擦攪拌点接合継手。
- 前記鋼板のうちの少なくとも1枚の鋼板が表面にめっき層を有する、請求項4に記載の摩擦攪拌点接合継手。
- 前記めっき層が亜鉛系めっき層である、請求項5に記載の摩擦攪拌点接合継手。
- 前記めっき層が亜鉛系めっき層である、請求項6に記載の摩擦攪拌点接合継手。
- ショルダー部と該ショルダー部から突出するピン部とを有するツールを回転させながら、該ピン部を被接合材である重ね合わせた2枚以上の鋼板に圧入し、該鋼板を接合する、摩擦攪拌点接合方法であって、
前記ツールの回転速度を、接合中に、初期回転速度から1回以上変化させ、
前記ツールの圧入最大深さの鉛直方向位置が、前記鋼板の下側合せ面を基準位置として、-0.5mm以下、および、-TL×0.50以下のうちの少なくとも一方を満足し、かつ、前記ツールが圧入最大深さに到達した際に前記ショルダーと上板とが接触する状態であり、
最高到達温度が600℃以上750℃以下であり、
次式(1)を満足する、摩擦攪拌点接合方法。
