That is, the third detection voltage V3 detected by the controller 270 has a negative value. In this case, as the first protective capacitor C1 is gradually discharged, the third detection voltage V3 increases toward 0V.
- the lengths of the first switching period and the second switching period to be described above may be set to be the same.
- the controller 270 may control the first contactor SWC1 and the second contactor SWC2 in an open state, and alternately execute the first switching period and the second switching period.

Accordingly, as shown in FIG. 13, the third detection voltage V3 may be maintained at a constant value VS from T0 to T2 where the first switching period and the second switching period are alternately executed. This is clearly contrasted with the continuous change pattern of the third detection voltage V3 shown in FIG.

Therefore, during the first switching period or the second switching period, a pattern including values obtained by measuring a plurality of times of the third detection voltage V3 that changes with time is recorded, and the first contactor (based on the recorded pattern) is recorded. It is possible to determine whether the respective short circuits of the SWC1) and the second contactor SWC2 are short-circuited simultaneously or sequentially.
- the first diagnostic function for determining whether the battery module 100 is short-circuited and the second diagnostic function for determining whether at least one of the contacts SWC1 and SWC2 are shorted do not need to be executed in another period not overlapping each other. That is, the second diagnostic function may be executed even while the first diagnostic function is executed, or the first diagnostic function may be executed even while the second diagnostic function is executed.
- controller 270 may be controlled so that the periods during which the first and second diagnostic functions are executed do not overlap each other.
