L'invention concerne un appareil de cuisine comportant une plaque de cuisson (10) et un dispositif d'aspiration (11) pourvu d'au moins un ventilateur. L'appareil de cuisine est caractérisé en ce que le dispositif d'aspiration (11) présente au moins un élément d'aspiration (110) pouvant être au moins partiellement déployé à partir de la plaque de cuisson (10) et une unité de commande, l'élément d'aspiration (110) pouvant être amené automatiquement dans au moins deux positions de déploiement au moyen de l'unité de commande. L'invention concerne également un procédé de fonctionnement du dispositif d'aspiration (11) d'un appareil de cuisine (1).
