Abstract
Description
条件(I):ポリイミド系フィルムの、波数q(単位:Å-1)と散乱強度Iとの両対数プロットで表される小角X線散乱プロファイルI(q)において、q=0.003における接線を接線F(q)としたとき、0.003<q≦0.018において、I(q)/F(q)の最大値が1.5を超える。
本実施形態に係るポリイミド系フィルムは、以下の条件(I)を満たす。
条件(I):ポリイミド系フィルムの、波数q(単位:Å-1)と散乱強度Iとの両対数プロットで表される小角X線散乱プロファイルI(q)において、q=0.003における接線を接線F(q)としたとき、0.003<q≦0.018において、I(q)/F(q)の最大値が1.5を超える。
小角X線散乱プロファイルとは、X線をフィルムに入射し、フィルムを構成する原子により散乱される散乱X線のうち、散乱角2θが10°未満の散乱強度の波数依存性を表す。小角X線散乱プロファイルは、通常、角度θでなく、波数(散乱ベクトルの絶対値)qに対する散乱強度Iで表される。波数qは(4π/λ)sinθから計算され、λはX線の波長を表す。X線の波長としては、0.1~3Åが挙げられる。また、散乱角2θは5°以下であることが好ましい。
このようなX線は、SPring-8、PFリングなどで利用でき、放射光X線を用いることにより短時間で十分な強度の小角X線散乱プロファイルが得られる。
0.003<q≦0.018におけるI(q)/F(q)の最大値は、1.5より大きく、好ましくは、1.8より大きい、より好ましくは2.2より大きい。0.003<q≦0.018におけるI(q)/F(q)の最大値の上限は、10であることができ、8であってもよい。ポリイミド系フィルムの小角X線プロファイルで、上記の条件を満たすものが本実施形態に係るポリイミド系フィルムに該当する。
ポリイミド系フィルムは、ポリイミド系高分子を含む。本明細書において、ポリイミド系高分子とは、式(PI)、式(a)、式(a’)又は式(b)で表される繰り返し構造単位を少なくとも1種以上含む重合体を意味する。なかでも、式(PI)で表される繰り返し構造単位が、ポリイミド系高分子の主な構造単位であると、フィルムの強度及び透明性の観点で好ましい。式(PI)で表される繰り返し構造単位は、ポリイミド系高分子の全繰り返し構造単位に対し、好ましくは40モル%以上であり、より好ましくは50モル%以上であり、さらに好ましくは70モル%以上であり、殊更好ましくは90モル%以上であり、殊更さらに好ましくは98モル%である。
本明細書において、「系化合物」とは、当該「系化合物」が付される化合物の誘導体を指す。例えば、「ベンゾフェノン系化合物」とは、母体骨格としてのベンゾフェノンと、ベンゾフェノンに結合している置換基とを有する化合物を指す。
ポリイミド系フィルムは、強度を高める観点から、無機粒子を更に含有していてもよい。無機粒子としてはケイ素原子を含む粒子が挙げられ、該ケイ素原子を含む粒子としては、シリカ粒子が挙げられる。その他の無機粒子としては、チタニア粒子、アルミナ粒子及びジルコニア粒子等が挙げられる。
また、このポリイミド系フィルムは、JIS K 7105:1981に準拠したHazeが1%以下であることが好ましく、0.9%以下であることがより好ましい。
また、このポリイミド系フィルムは、JIS K 7373:2006に準拠した黄色度YIが10以下であることが好ましく、5以下であることがより好ましく、3以下であることがさらに好ましい。
次に、本実施形態のポリイミド系フィルムの製造方法の一例を説明する。ポリイミド系フィルムは、ポリイミド系高分子ワニスに含まれる固形分の固化物である。
ポリイミド系高分子ワニスは、公知のポリイミドの合成手法を用いて重合された溶媒可溶なポリイミドを溶媒に溶解し、調製される。溶媒としては、ポリイミドを溶解する溶媒であればよく、例えば、N,N-ジメチルアセトアミド(DMAc)、N,N-ジメチルホルムアミド(DMF)、ジメチルスルホキシド(DMSO)、γ-ブチロラクトン(GBL)、N-メチルピロリドン(NMP)、酢酸エチル、メチルエチルケトン(MEK)、テトラヒドロフラン、1,4-ジオキサン、アセトン、シクロペンタノン、ジメチルスルホキシド、キシレン及びそれらの組み合わせを用いることができる。
ポリイミドとしては、溶媒可溶なポリイミドであればよく、前述の構造であることができる。
ワニスが水を含有することにより、上述の小角X線プロファイルを示す構造を有するフィルムが得やすい。水の添加によりポリイミド系フィルムの構造が変化する理由は明らかではないが、溶媒乾燥時に水が存在することにより、ポリイミドの構造形成に影響を与えることが考えられる。
このようなポリイミド系フィルムは、透明であって屈曲性に優れるのでフレキシブルディスプレイの構成要素として使用できる。例えば、フレキシブルディスプレイの表面保護用の前面板(ウィンドウフィルム)として使用することができる。
また、このポリイミド系フィルムに、紫外線吸収層、ハードコート層、粘着層、色相調整層、屈折率調整層などの種々の機能層を付加した積層体とすることもできる。
窒素置換した重合槽に、式(1)で表される化合物、式(2)で表される化合物、式(3)で表される化合物、溶媒(γブチロラクトン及びジメチルアセトアミド)及び触媒を仕込んだ。仕込み量は、式(1)で表される化合物75.0g、式(2)で表される化合物36.5g、式(3)で表される化合物76.4g、γブチロラクトン438.4g、ジメチルアセトアミド313.1g、触媒1.5gとした。式(2)で表される化合物と式(3)で表される化合物とのモル比は3:7、式(2)で表される化合物及び式(3)で表される化合物の合計と式(1)で表される化合物とのモル比は、1.00:1.02であった。
ポリイミドを三菱ガス化学社製「ネオプリム」を用い、シリカとポリイミドの質量比を55:45とした以外は実施例1と同様とした。
実施例2で調整した混合溶液をガラス基板に塗布する前に24時間40℃で保管する以外は実施例2と同様とした。
水を添加しない以外は実施例1と同様として混合溶液を調整し、混合溶液をガラス基板に塗布する前に24時間40℃で保管した。
得られた各フィルムの小角X線散乱プロファイルをSPring-8のUSAXS装置により以下の条件で取得した。X線の波長λは2Å、波数qの範囲は0.002~0.02Å-1であった。
各フィルムから切り出したサンプル(10mm×100mm)を長手方向の中央部で180°曲げ、さらに、屈曲部を指で押して屈曲部の観察を行った。結果を表1に示す。屈曲部が破断した場合をCとし、屈曲部が破断しなかった場合をAと表す。
実施例および比較例のフィルムの黄色度(Yellow Index:YI)を、JIS K 7373:2006に準拠して日本分光社製の紫外可視近赤外分光光度計V-670によって測定した。サンプルがない状態でバックグランド測定を行った後、フィルムをサンプルホルダーにセットして、300~800nmの光に対する透過率測定を行い、3刺激値(X、Y、Z)を求めた。YIを、下記の式に基づいて算出した。
YI=100×(1.2769X-1.0592Z)/Y
フィルムのHaze(%)を、JIS K 7105:1981に準拠して、スガ試験機社製の全自動直読ヘーズコンピューターHGM-2DPにより測定した。
フィルムの全光線透過率は、JIS K 7105-1:1981に準拠して、スガ試験機社製の全自動直読ヘーズコンピューターHGM-2DPにより測定した。これらの結果を表1に示す。
Claims (5)
- 以下の条件(I)を満たすことを特徴とするポリイミド系フィルム。
条件(I):ポリイミド系フィルムの、波数q(単位:Å-1)と散乱強度Iとの両対数プロットで表される小角X線散乱プロファイルI(q)において、q=0.003における接線を接線F(q)としたとき、
0.003<q≦0.018において、I(q)/F(q)の最大値が1.5を超える。 - 黄色度YIが10以下である請求項1記載のポリイミド系フィルム。
- Hazeが1%以下である請求項1又は2に記載のポリイミド系フィルム。
- 全光線透過率が85%以上である請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載のポリイミド系フィルム。
- シリカ粒子を含む請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載のポリイミド系フィルム。
