본 발명은 고색재현 필름, 이를 제조하기 위한 조성물, 이를 포함하는 편광판, 및 상기 편광판을 포함하는 액정 디스플레이 장치에 관한 것이다. 보다 상세하게는, 색순도를 높여 색재현성을 향상시키고, 우수한 물리적, 광학적 특성을 나타낼 수 있는 고색재현 필름과 이를 제조할 수 있는 조성물, 상기 고색재현 필름을 포함하는 편광관, 및 상기 편광판을 포함하는 액정 디스플레이 장치에 관한 것이다.
【발명의 배경이 되는 기술】
액정 디스플레이 장치 (liquid crystal display, LCD)는 현재 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 평판 디스플레이 중 하나이다. 일반적으로 액정 디스플레이 장치는 TFT(Thin Film Transistor) 어레이 기판과 컬러필터 (color filter) 기판 사이에 액정층이 봉입된 구조를 취한다. 상기 어레이 기판과 컬러필터 기판에 존재하는 전극에 전기장을 인가하면 그 사이에 봉입된 액정층의 액정 분자의 배열이 변하게 되고 이를 이용해 영상을 표시하게 된다.
액정 디스플레이 장치는 백라이트 광원의 특정 스펙트럼을 컬러필터에 의해 컷팅하여 컬러 화상을 얻고 있어 광원이나 컬러필터, 더 나아가 편광판이나 배향막 등의 다양한 구성 요소의 특성에 의해 색순도가 영향을 받기 때문에 높은 색순도를 얻는 것에 본질적으로 한계가 있다.
그 중에서도 색순도에 영향을 미치는 가장 큰 원인 증 하나가, 액정 패널의 배면으로부터 광을 조사하는 광원의 발광 스펙트럼 특성이다. 냉음극관 (CCFL: Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp), 열음극관 (HCFL: Hot Cathode Fluorescent Lamp), 발광 다이오드 (LED: light emitting diode) 등과 같은 광원의 발광 스펙트럼 분포는 RGB에 대웅하는 파장 영역 이외에도, 서브 밴드로서 RGB 각 파장의 사이의 발광 스펙트럼이 존재하기 때문에, 이것이 컬러필터와 흔색되어 색재현성을 저하시키는 원인이 된다.
컬러필터를 포함하는 액정 디스플레이 장치에서는 색순도는 본질적으로 컬러필터에 의해 결정되고 있기 때문에, 샤프한 분광 투과 특성을 갖는 컬러필터를 사용하여 높은 색재현성을 실현하는 것이 바람직하지만, 내구성이나 내광성 등의 문제 때문에, 사용할 수 있는 컬러필터의 컬러 재료에는 한계가 있다. 따라서, 현실적으로 보다 샤프한 분광 투과 특성을 갖는 컬러필터를 사용하여 액정 디스플레이의 색순도를 개선시키는 것은 쉽지 않다.
한편, 액정 디스플레이 장치에서는 광원으로부터 출사된 빛이 도광판과 확산 시트를 통과하면서 광휘도가 떨어지게 되므로, 이 광을 다시 모아 광휘도를 을리기 위하여 프리즘 시트 (prism sheet)를 포함하며, 이러한 프리즘 시트는 보통 하부 편광판 아래쪽에 구비된다. 그런데, 디스플레이가 대형화되면서 하부 편광판의 처짐 현상이 발생하여, 상기 하부 편광판과 맞닿아 있는 프리즘 시트의 요철 구조에 의해 하부 편광판이 갈리는 등 손상이 발생한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 하부 편광판의 보호 필름에 하드코팅 층을 코팅하는 방안이 제안되고 있으나, 공정 비용 상승의 문제가 있어 여의치 않다.
이러한 필요성에 따라 과도한 추가 공정 없이 액정 디스플레이 장치의 색재현성을 개선하고, 프리즘 시트에 의한 하부 편광판의 손상을 방지할 수 있는 방법에 대해 개발이 여전히 요구되고 있다.
【발명의 내용】
【해결하고자 하는 과제】
상기와 같은 과제를 해결하기 위하여, 본 발명은 백라이트나 컬러필터를 변경하지 않고 액정 디스플레이 장치 (LCD)에 포함되는 소자 중 하부 편광판의 보호 필름을 개선하여 저비용으로 색재현성을 향상시키는 방법과, 프리즘 시트로 인하여 편광판의 하부 보호 필름이 손상되는 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방안을 연구하여 본 발명을 완성하였다.
이에 본 발명은 색순도를 높여 색재현성을 향상시키고, 우수한 물리적, 광학적 특성을 나타낼 수 있는 고색재현 필름과 이를 제조할 수 있는 조성물, 상기 고색재현 필름을 포함하는 편광판, 및 상기 편광판을 포함하는 액정 디스플레이 장치를 제공한다.
[과제의 해결 수단]
상기와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위해서 본 발명은,
기재; 및 상기 기재의 적어도 일면에 구비되는 광경화성 수지층을 포함하고,
최대 흡수 파장이 585 내지 600nm이고,
650 내지 710nm 파장 영역에서의 평균 광투과율이 90% 초과인, 고색재현 필름을 제공한다.

【발명의 효과】
본 발명의 고색재현 필름, 이를 위한 조성물, 이를 포함하는 편광판, 및 상기 편광판을 포함하는 액정 디스플레이 장치에 따르면, LCD에서 백라이트의 스펙트럼 특성으로 인해 야기되는 흔색 현상을 완화하고 색순도를 높여 색재현성이 향상된 편광판 및 LCD를 제공할 수 있다.
또한, 편광판 하부에 구비되는, 프리즘 시트의 요철로 인하여 편광판의 하부 보호 필름이 손상됨으로써 해이즈가 증가하는 문제점을 막아 우수한 광학물성을 나타낼 수 있다.
더하여, 이러한 효과는 이러한 컬러필터나 LCD의 적층 구조 등에 대한 변경없이 LCD의 하부 편광판에 대해서 본 발명을 적용함으로써 얻을 수 있으므로, 과도한 공정 변경이나 비용 증가를 필요로 하지 않아 생산 비용을 절감할 수 있다. ^

본 발명의 고색재현 필름은, 이에만 제한되는 것은 아니나 편광자 (polarizer)를 외부로부터 보호하는 용도로 사용될 수 있으며, 상기 편광자의 적어도 일면에 구비되며, 바람직하게는 상기 편광자의 하부 보호 필름으로 사용될 수 있다.
일반적으로 사용되는 편광자 보호 필름으로는 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트 (polyethyleneterephtalate, PET)와 같은 폴리에스테르 (polyester), 에틸렌 비닐 아세테이트 (ethylene vinyl acetate, EVA)와 같은 폴리에틸렌 (polyethylene), 사이클릭 을레핀 중합체 (cyclic olefin polymer, COP), 사이클릭 올레핀 공중합체 (cyclic olefin copolymer, COC), 폴리아크릴레이트 (polyacrylate, PAC), 폴리카보네이트 (polycarbonate, PC), 폴리에틸렌 (polyethylene, PE), 폴리메틸메타크릴레이트 (polymethylmethacrylate, PMMA), 폴리에테르에테르케톤 (polyetheretherketon, PEEK), 폴리에틸렌나프탈레이트 (polyethylenenaphthalate, PEN), 폴리에테르이미드 (polyetherimide, PEI), 폴리이미드 (polyimide, PI), MMA(methyl methacrylate), 불소계 수지 또는 트리아세틸셀롤로오스 (triacetylcellulose, TAC) 등으로 이루어진 기재를 들 수 있다.
상기 기재 중에서도 특히 트리아세틸셀롤로오스 (TAC) 필름이 광학적 특성이 우수하여 많이 사용되고 있다.
한편, 액정 디스플레이 장치 (LCD)의 백라이트 광원의 발광 스펙트럼에 있어서, RGB에 대웅하는 파장 영역 이외에도 서브 밴드로서 RGB 각 파장의 사이의 발광 스펙트럼이 존재하기 때문에, 이것이 컬러필터와 흔색되어 색재현성을 저하시키는 원인이 되고 있다.
또한 디스플레이가 점차 대형화됨에 따라, 하부 편광판의 처짐 현상이 발생하여 하부 편광판 아래쪽에 구비되는 프리즘 시트 또는 확산 필름에 의해 하부 편광자 보호 필름이 손상되어 헤이즈가 증가하게 되는 경우가 있다.
본 발명은 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위한 것으로, 백라이트, 컬러필터 또는 LCD의 구조를 변경하지 않고 LCD에 포함되는 구성 요소 중 편광판, 특히 하부 편광판을 개선하여 저비용으로 색재현성을 향상시키고, 프리즘 시트 또는 확산 필름에 의한 헤이즈 증가의 문제를 방지하기 위한 것이다.
일반적으로 염료 또는 안료를 포함하는 광경화성 수지층의 경우, 자외선에 의한 경화 공정에서 염료 또는 안료의 광특성이 변형되어 결과적으로 광경화성 수지층 및 이를 포함하는 필름의 광학 물성이 떨어지는 문제점이 있다. 또한 염료 또는 안료를 포함하는 열경화성 수지층의 경우에는 자외선에 의한 광특성의 변화는 없지만 편광자 보호 필름으로서의 충분한 표면 경도 및 내스크래치 특성을 만족시키지 못하는 문제점이 있다.
그러나 본 발명에 따르면 자외선 경화 전후에 광투과율 변화가 거의 없거나 적어 뛰어난 색재현성을 구현할 수 있며, 광경화성 수지층으로 인해 내스크래치성, 고경도 등 우수한 물리적 특성을 나타내어 하부 편광판을 효과적으로' 보호하여 갈수록 박형화, 대형화되는 디스플레이용 편광판에 유용하게 적용할 수 있다.
본 발명의 고색재현 필름은 파장 영역대에 따라 다른 광투과율을 갖는데, 먼저 최대 흡수 파장 (광 흡수율이 최대인 파장)은 약 585 내지 약 600nm, 또는 약 585 내지 약 595nm일 수 있고, 650 내지 710nm 파장 영역에서의 평균 광투과율 (T3)은 약 90% 초과, 보다 구체적으로 T3는 약 90% 초과, 또는 약 91 % 초과이고, 약 100% 미만, 또는 약 98% 미만일 수 있다.
또한, 400 내지 550nm 파장 영역에서의 평균 광투과율 (T1)은 약 70% 초과로, 보다 구체적으로 T1는 약 70% 초과, 또는 약 80% 초과이고, 약 100% 미만, 또는 약 95% 미만일 수 있다.
또한, 580 내지 610nm 파장 영역에서의 평균 광투과율 (T2)은 약 20% 초과 및 50% 미만, 또는 약 25% 초과 및 50% 미만일 수 있다.
상기와 같은 파장 영역대에 따른 광투과율의 차이 및 최대 흡수 파장 특성으로 인하여, LCD에서 백라이트로부터 입사되는 빛 중 불필요한 일부 파장대의 빛을 흡수하여 세기를 감소시키므로, 백라이트의 스펙트럼 특성과 컬러 필터와의 미스매치 (mismatch)로 인해 야기되는 흔색 현상을 완화하고 색순도를 높여 색재현성이 향상된 편광판 및 LCD를 제공할 수 있다. 또한 편광자 보호 필름으로서의 충분한 표면 경도 및 내스크래치 특성을 만족시킬 수 있으므로 편광자 보호 필름으로 유용하게 적용할 수 있다.
상기 본 발명의 고색재현 필름의 광경화성 수지층은 최대 흡수 파장이 약 580 내지 약 610nm, 또는 약 590 내지 약 600nm, 또는 약 590 내지 약 595nm 이고, 광경화성 바인더의 경화시 발생하는 라디칼 또는 양이온에 대해 안정한 염료 또는 안료를 포함함으로써, 상술한 바와 같이 파장 영역대에 따라 다른 광투과율을 나타낼 수 있다.
본 발명의 고색재현 필름에 있어서, 상기 광경화성 수지층이 형성되는 기재는 통상적으로 편광자 보호 필름으로 사용되는 투명성 플라스틱 수자를 사용할 수 있다. 보다 구체적으로 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트 (polyethyleneterephtalate, PET)와 같은 폴리에스테르 (polyester), 에틸렌 비닐 아세테이트 (ethylene vinyl acetate, EVA)와 같은 폴리에틸렌 (polyethylene), 사이클릭 올레핀 중합체 (cyclic olefin polymer, COP), 사이클릭 올레핀 공중합체 (cyclic olefin copolymer, COC), 폴리아크릴레이트 (polyacrylate, ? AC), 폴리카보네이트 (polycarbonate, PC), 폴리에틸렌 (polyethylene, PE), 폴리메틸메타크릴레이트 (polymethylmethacrylate, PMMA), 폴리에테르에테르케톤 (polyetheretherketon, PEEK), 폴리에틸렌나프탈레이트 (polyethylenenaphthalate, PEN), 폴리에테르이미드 (polyetherimide, PEI), 폴리이미드 (polyimide, PI), MMA(methyl methacrylate), 불소계 수지 또는 트리아세틸셀를로오스 (triacetylcellulose, TAC) 등을 들 수 있다.
바람직하게는, 상기 기재는 트리아세틸셀를로오스 (TAC)를 포함하는 필름일 수 있다.
상기 기재의 두께는 특별히 제한되지 않지만, 편광관의 경도 및 다른 물성을 만족시킬 수 있는 범위로써, 약 20 내지 약 l OO^m, 또는 약 20 내지 약 60/ m의 두께를 갖는 기재를 사용할 수 있다.
본 발명의 고색재현 필름에 포함되는 염료 또는 안료는 최대 흡수 파장이 오렌지색 영역인 약 580 내지 약 610nm, 또는 약 590 내지 약 600nm. 또는 약 590 내지 약 595nm이며, 동시에 자외선 조사 전후 650 내지 710nm 영역 대에서의 광투과율의 차이가 5% 미만으로 광경화성 바인더의 경화시 발생하는 라디칼 또는 양이온에 대해 안정한 특성을 나타내는 것일 수 있다. 이러한 특성을 나타내는 염료 또는 안료로 포르피린 (porphyrin) 유도체 화합물, 시아닌 (cyanine) 유도체 화합물, 또는 스쿠아릴리움 (squarylium) 유도체 화합물 중 방향족 고리 또는 헤테로방향족 고리와 같은 벌키 (bulky)한 치환기 구조를 가지는 화합물을 예로 들 수 있으나, 본 발명이 이에 제한되는 것은 아니다.
상술한 조건을 만족하는 염료 또는 안료는, LCD의 CCFL, LED 등의 백라이트로부터 입사되는 빛 중 특히 컬러필터와 흔색 문제를 일으키는 스펙트럼 영역 대의 불필요한 빛을 흡수하므로, 이를 포함하는 조성물을 이용하여 제조된 광경화성 수지층을 포함하는 필름 및 편광판은 종래 편광판 대비 약 10% 이상 색재현성 (color gamut)이 높아질 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 고색재현성 필름은 자외선 (UV) 경화 전*후에 있어, 650 내지 710nm 영역 대에서의 광투과율의 차이가 5% 미만일 수 있다. 즉, 본 발명의 고색재현성 필름은 하기 식 1로 측정되는 광투과율의 변화가 5% 미만, 바람직하게는 2% 미만, 보다 바람직하게는 1% 미만이다.

UV 전 650 ~710nm영역파장에서의평균 ¾투과율 상기 식 1에서, UV 경화는, 광경화성 수지층 형성용 조성물을 투명 기재 상에 도포한 후, 290 내지 320nm 파장의 자외선을 20 내지 600 mJ/cm2의 조사량으로 경화한 것을 의미한다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 광경화성 수지층 100 중량부에 대하여, 상기 최대 흡수 파장이 580 내지 610nm인 염료 또는 안료를 약 0.1 내지 약 5 중량부로, 바람직하게는 약 0.1 내지 약 3 중량부로 포함할 수 있다. 상기 염료 또는 안료가 너무 적게 포함되면 광흡수 효과가 미미하여 색재현성 향상 효과가 충분하지 않을 수 있고, 너무 많이 포함될 경우, 휘도가 저하되고 필름의 다른 물성이 저하될 수 있으므로, 이러한 관점에서 상기 중량부 범위로 포함되는 것이 바람직하다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 광경화성 수지층은 다관능 아크릴레이트계 모노머, 다관능 아크릴레이트계 올리고머, 및 다관능 우레탄 아크릴레이트계 탄성 고분자로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 1종 이상의 광경화성 바인더의 경화물을 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 광경화성 수지층은 경도 향상을 위하여 유기 미립자 또는 무기 미립자를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 광경화성 바인더 및 이외에 상기 광경화성 수지층에 포함되는 다른 성분에 대해서는 후술하는.고색재현 필름용 조성물에서 보다 상세히 설명하기로 한다. 본 발명의 고색재현 필름은, 500g 하중에서의 연필 경도가 H 이상, 또는 2H 이상일 수 있다.
또한, 마찰시험기에 스틸울 (steel wool) #0을 장착한 후 200g의 하중, 또는 300g 하중, 또는 400g 하중으로 10회 왕복시킬 경우에 스크래치가 발생하지 않는 내스크래치성을 나타낼 수 있다.
이와 같이 본 발명의 고색재현 필름은 파장 영역대에 따른 특유의 광투과율 특성으로 인하여, 백라이트의 스펙트럼 특성과 컬러 필터와의 미스매치로 인해 야기되는 흔색 현상을 완화하고 색순도를 높여 향상된 낵재현성을 구현할 수 있다. 또한 동시에 내스크래치성, 고경도 등 우수한 물리적 특성을 나타내며 편광판을 효과적으로 보호하여, 편광판 하부 구조물과의 접촉 또는 마찰로 인하여 헤이즈가 증가하는 문제점을 막아 우수한 광학적 물성을 나타낼 수 있다.
상술한 광학적 및 물리적 특성을 갖는 고색재현 필름은, 광경화성 바인더; 최대 흡수 파장이 580 내지 610nm인 염료 또는 안료; 광중합 개시제; 및 용매를 포함하는 고색재현 필름용 조성물을 기재 상에 코팅 및 경화하여 수득할 수 있다.
상기 광경화성 바인더는, 자외선에 의해 중합 반응을 일으킬 수 있는 불포화 관능기를 포함하는 화합물이라면 특별히 제한되지는 않으나, 광경화성 관능기로 (메트)아크릴레이트기, 알릴기, 아크릴로일기, 또는 비닐기를 포함하는 화합물일 수 있다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 광경화성 바인더는 다관능 아크릴레이트계 모노머, 다관능 아크릴레이트계 을리고머, 및 다관능 아크릴레이트계 탄성 고분자로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 1종 이상일 수 있다.
본 발명의 명세서에서 아크릴레이트계란, 아크릴레이트 뿐만 아니라 메타크릴레이트, 또는 아크릴레이트나 메타크릴레이트에 치환기가 도입된 유도체를 모두 의미한다.
상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 모노머는 아크릴레이트계 관능기가 2개 이상으로 포함하고 중량 평균 분자량이 l ,000g/mol 미만인 것을 의미한다. 보다 구체적으로 예를 들어 핵산디올디아크릴레이트 (HDDA), 트리프로필렌글리콜 디아크릴레이트 (TPGDA), 에틸렌글리콜 디아크릴레이트 (EGDA), 트리메틸올프로판 트리아크릴레이트 (TMPTA), 트리메틸을프로판에톡시 트리아크릴레이트 (TMPEOTA), 글리세린 프로폭실화 트리아크릴레이트 (GPTA), 펜타에리트리를 트리 (테트라)아크릴레이트 (PETA), 또는 디펜타에리트리를 핵사아크릴레이트 (DPHA) 등을 들 수 있으나, 본 발명의 조성물이 이에 제한되는 것은 아니다. 상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 모노머는 서로 가교되거나, 후술하는 다관능 아크릴레이트계 올리고머 및 다관능 아크릴레이트계 탄성 고분자와 가교되어 필름에 일정한 강도와 내마모성을 부여하는 역할을 한다.
상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 모노머는 단독으로 또는 서로 다른 종류를 조합하여 사용할 수 있다.
상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 을리고머는 아크릴레이트 관능기를 2개 이상으로 포함하는 올리고머로, 중량 평균 분자량이 약 1,000 내지 약 10,000 g/mol, 또는 약 1,000 내지 약 5,000 g/mol, 또는 약 1 ,000 내지 약 3,000 g/mol의 범위를 가질 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 을리고머는 ASTM D638에 의해 측정하였을 때, 약 5 내지 약 200%, 또는 약 5 내지 약 100%, 또는 약 10 내지 약 50%의 신율을 가질 수 있다. 상기 아크릴레이트계 을리고머의 신율이 상기 범위를 가질 때 기계적 물성의 저하 없이 보다 우수한 유연성과 탄성을 나타낼 수 있다. 상기와 같은 신율 범위를 만족하는 다관능 아크릴레이트계 올리고머는 유연성과 탄성이 우수하여 상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 모노머 및 후술하는 다관능 아크릴레이트계 탄성 고분자와 경화 수지를 형성하며, 이를 포함하는 필름에 층분한 가요성, 컬 특성 등을 부여할 수 있다.
또한 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 올리고머는 우레탄 (urethane), 에틸렌 옥사이드 (ethylene oxide), 프로필렌 옥사이드 (propylene oxide), 또는 카프로락톤 (caprolactone) 중 1종 이상으로 변성된 아크릴레이트계 올리고머일 수 있다. 상기 변성된 다관능 아크릴레이트계 올리고머를 사용할 경우 변성에 의해 상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 을리고머에 유연성이 더욱 부여되어 필름의 컬 특성 및 가요성이 향상될 수 있다. 상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 올리고머는 단독으로 또는 서로 다른 종류를 조합하여 사용할 수 있다.
상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 탄성 고분자는 유연성과 탄성이 우수하며, 아크릴레이트 관능기를 2개 이상 포함하는 고분자로, 증량 평균 분자량이 약 100,000 내지 약 800,000g/mol, 또는 약 150,000 내지 약 700,000g/mol, 또는 약 180,000 내지 약 650,000g/m 의 범위를 가질 수 있다. 상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 탄성 고분자를 포함하는 조성물을 이용하여 형성한 필름은, 기계적 물성을 확보하면서도 높은 탄성 또는 유연성을 확보할 수 있고, 컬 (curl) 또는 크랙 (crack) 발생도 최소화할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 탄성 고분자는 ASTM D638에 의해 측정하였을 때, 약 5 내지 약 200%, 또는 약 5 내지 약 100%, 또는 약 10 내지 약 50%의 신율을 가질 수 있다. 상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 탄성 고분자의 신율이 상기 범위를 가질 때 기계적 물성의 저하 없이 우수한 유연성과 탄성을 나타낼 수 있다.
상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 탄성 고분자의 한 예로 폴리로타세인을 들 수 있다.
일반적으로 #리로타세인 (Polyrotaxane)은 덤벨 모양의 분자 (dumbbell shaped molecule)과 고리형 화합물 (macrocycle)이 구조적으로 끼워져 있는 화합물을 의미하여, 상기 덤벨 모양의 분자는 일정한 선형 분자 및 이러한 선형 분자의 양 말단에 배치된 봉쇄기를 포함하며, 상기 선형 분자가 상기 고리형 화합물의 내부를 관통하며, 상기 고리형 화합물이 상기 선형 분자를 따라서 이동할 수 있으며 상기 봉쇄기에 의하여 이탈이 방지된다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 폴리로타세인은 말단에 아크릴레이트계 화합물이 도입된 락톤계 화합물이 결합된 고리형 화합물; 상기 고리형 화합물을 관통하는 선형 분자; 및 상기 선형 분자의 양 말단에 배치되어 상기 고리형 화합물의 이탈을 방지하는 봉쇄기를 포함하는 로타세인 화합물을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 고리형 화합물은 상기 선형 분자를 관통 또는 둘러찰 수 있을 정도의 크기를 갖는 것이면 별 다른 제한 없이 사용할 수 있으며, 다른 중합체나 화합물과 반응할 수 있는 수산기, 아미노기, 카르복실기, 티올기 또는 알데히드기 등의 작용기를 포함할 수도 있다. 이러한 고리형 화합물의 구체적인 예로 α-사이클로덱스트린, β-사이클로덱스트린, γ-사이클로덱스트린 또는 이들의 흔합물을 들 수 있다.
또한, 상기 선형 분자로는 일정 이상의 분자량을 가지면 직쇄 형태를 갖는 화합물은 큰 제한 없이 사용할 수 있으나, 폴리알킬렌계 화합물 또는 폴리카프로락톤기를 사용할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 탄소수 1 내지 8의 옥시알킬렌 반복 단위를 포함하는 폴리옥시알킬렌계 화합물 또는 탄소수 3 내지 10의 락톤계 반복단위를 갖는 폴리카프로락톤기를 사용할 수 있다.
그리고, 이러한 선형 분자는 약 1 ,000 내지 약 50,000g/m이의 중량 평균 분자량을 가질 수 있다. 상기 선형 분자의 중량 평균 분자량이 너무 작으면 이를 사용하여 제조되는 필름의 기계적 물성 또는 자기 치유 능력이 층분하지 못할 수 있으며, 상기 중량 평균 분자량이 너무 크면 제조되는 필름의 상용성이 저하되거나 외관 특성이나 재료의 균일성이 크게 저하될 수 있다.
한편, 상기 봉쇄기는 제조되는 폴리로타세인의 특성에 따라서 적¾히 조절할 수 있으며, 예를 들어 디니트로페닐기, 시클로텍스트린기, 아다만탄기 : 트리틸기, 플루오레세인기 및 피렌기로 이루어진 군에서 선택된 1종 또는 2종 이상을 사용할 수 있다.
상기 다관능 아크릴레이트계 탄성 고분자의 또 다른 예로는 우레탄계 아크릴레이트 고분자를 들 수 있다. 상기 우레탄계 아크릴레이트 고분자는 아크릴 폴리머의 주쇄에 우레탄계 아크릴레이트 올리고머가 결가지로 연결되어 있는 형태를 가진다.
또한, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 염료 또는 안료를 포함하는 조성물은 자외선 (UV) 경화 전 ·후에 있어, 650 내지 710nm 영역 대에서의 광투과율의 차이가 5% 미만일 수 있다. 즉, 본 발명의 조성물은 하기 식 1로 측정되는 광투과율의 변화가 5% 미만, 바람직하게는 2% 미만, 보다 바람직하게는 1 % 미만이다.

일반적인 염료 또는 안료의 경우, 경화 공정에서의 자외선 조사에 의해 분자 구조가 변형되어 광특성이 달라진다. 특히, 자외선 경화 후, 650 내지 710nm 파장에서의 새로운 흡수 피크가 생기는 경우가 많다. 이로 인하여 광투과율 특성이 증요한 편광판에 염료 또는 안료를 포함하는 자외선 경화형 코팅층을 적용하는 것이 제약이 있었다. 그러나, 상기와 같이 본 발명의 조성물은 UV 경화 전 ·후에 있어, 650 내지 710nm 영역 대에서의 광투과율의 차이가 5% 미만으로, UV 경화 후에도 650 내지 710nm 파장 영역대에서의 추가 흡수 피크가 거의 나타나지 않아 휘도 상승 및 색재현성 향상에 도움이 될 수 있다.
이러한 조건을 만족하는 염료 또는 안료의 보다 구체적인 예로, 최대 흡수 파장이 약 580 내지 약 610nm, 또는 약 590 내지 약 600nm, 또는 약 590 내지 약 595nm이고, 광경화성 바인더의 경화시 발생하는 라디칼 또는 양이온에 대해 안정한 특성을 가지며, 방향족 고리 또는 헤테로방향족 고리와 같은 벌키 (bulky)한 치환기를 구조를 가지는 포르피린 (porphyrin) 유도체 화합물, 시아닌 (cyanine) 유도체 화합물, 또는 스쿠아릴리움 (squarylium) 유도체 화합물 등을 들 수 있으나, 본 발명이 이에 제한되는 것은 아니다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 광경화성 바인더의 총 중량을 100 중량부로 할 때, 상기 최대 흡수 파장이 580 내지 610nm인 염료 또는 안료를 약 0.1 내지 약 5 중량부로, 바람직하게는 약 0.1 내지 약 3 중량부로 포함할 수 있다. 상기 염료 또는 안료가 너무 적게 포함되면 광흡수 효과가 미미하여 색재현성 향상 효과가 층분하지 않을 수 있고, 너무 많이 포함될 경우, 휘도가 저하되고 조성물의 다른 물성이 저하될 수 있으므로, 이러한 관점에서 상기 중량부 범위로 포함되는 것이 바람직하다.
본 발명의 조성물에 포함되는 상기 광중합 개시제로는 1-히드록시 -시클로핵실 -페닐 케톤, 2-하이드록시 -2-메틸 -1-페닐 -1-프로판온,
2-하이드록시 -1-[4-(2-하이드록시에톡시)페닐] -2-메틸 -1-프로판온,
메틸벤조일포르메이트, α,α-디메록시 _페닐아세토페논,
2-벤조일 -2- (디메틸아미노) - 1 -[4-(4-모포린일)페닐] - 1 -부타논,
2-메틸 -1-[4- (메틸씨오)페닐] -2-(4-몰포린일) -1-프로판온
디페닐 (2,4,6-트리메틸벤조일) -포스핀옥사이드, 또는 비스 (2,4,6-트리메틸벤조일) -페닐포스핀옥사이드 등을 들 수 있으나, 이에 제한되지는 않는다. 또한 현재 시판되고 있는 상품으로는 Irgacure 184, Irgacure 500, Irgacure 651 , Irgacure 369, Irgacure 907, Darocur 1173, Darocur MBF, Irgacure 819, Darocur TPO, Irgacure 907, Esacure KIP 100F 등을 들 수 있다. 이들 광중합 개시제는 단독으로 또는 서로 다른 2종 이상을 흔합하여 사용할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 광중합 개시제의 함량은 특별히 제한되지 않으나, 전체 조성물의 물성을 저해하지 않으면서 효과적인 광중합을 달성하기 위하여 상기 광경화성 바인더의 총 중량을 100 중량부로 할 때, 상기 광중합 개시제를 약 0.1 내지 약 10 증량부로, 바람직하게는 약 0.1 내지 약 5 증량부로 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 조성물에 포함되는 상기 유기 용매로는 메탄올, 에탄올 이소프로필알코올, 부탄을과 같은 알코을계 용매, 2-메특시에탄올 2-에특시에탄을, 1-메록시 -2-프로판올과 같은 알콕시 알코을계 용매, 아세톤 메틸에틸케톤, 메틸이소부틸케톤, 메틸프로필케톤, 사이클로핵사논과 같은 케톤계 용매, 프로필렌글리콜모노프로필에테르 프로필렌글리콜모노메틸에테르, 에틸렌글리콜모노에틸에테르 에틸렌글리콜모노프로필에테르, 에틸렌글리콜모노부틸에테르 디에틸렌글리콜모노메틸에테르, 디에틸글리콜모노에틸에테르 디에틸글리콜모노프로필에테르, 디에틸글리콜모노부틸에테르 디에틸렌글리콜 -2-에틸핵실에테르와 같은 에테르계 용매, 벤젠, 를루엔 자일렌과 같은 방향족 용매 등을 단독으로 또는 흔합하여 사용할 수 있다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 유기 용매의 함량은 조성물의 물성을 저하시키지 않는 범위 내에서 다양하게 조절할 수 있으므로 특별히 제한하지는 않으나, 상기 광경화성 바인더 100 중량부에 대하여 약 10 내지 약 400 중량부로, 바람직하게는 약 100 내지 약 200 중량부로 포함할 수 있다. 상기 유기 용매가 상기 범위에 있을 때 적절한 유동성 및 도포성을 가질 수 있다.
한편, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 조성물은 유기 또는 무기 미립자를 더 포함하여 눈부심 방지 특성을 나타낼 수 있다. 상기 조성물이 유기 또는 무기 미립자를 포함할 때, 이를 이용하여 경화된 수지층은 빛을 산란시키는 특징을 가져 눈부심 방지 특성을 나타낼 수 있다.
상기 유기 또는 무기 미립자의 입경은 빛의 산란 효과를 최적화하는 측면에서 약 1 이상이 될 수 있고, 헤이즈 및 코팅 두께를 적절하게 하기 위한 측면에서 10/im 이하, 보다 구체적으로, 상기 유기 또는 무기 미립자는 입경이 약 1 내지 약 10 , 바람직하게는 약 1 내지 약 보다 바람직하게는 약 1 내지 약 3 인 입자일 수 있다. 상기 유기 또는 무기 미립자의 입경이 1 미만인 경우 빛의 산란으로 인한 눈부심 방지 효과가 미미할 수 있고. 입경이 10 를 초과하는 경우 적정 수준의 헤이즈를 맞추기 위해 코팅 두께를 을릴 필요가 있는데, 코팅 두께가 높아지면 크랙이 발생할 우려가 있다.
또한, 상기 유기 또는 무기 미립자의 부피 평균 입경은 약 2 내지 약 m, 바람직하게는 약 2 내지 약 5 , 보다 바람직하게는 약 2 내지 약 3 가 될 수 있다.
예를 들어, 상기 유기 미립자는 아크릴계 수지, 스티렌계 수지, 에폭시 수지 및 나일론 수지로 이루어진 유기 미립자로부터 선택되는 1 종 이상을 사용할 수 있다.
보다 구체적으로 상기 유기 미립자는 메틸 (메타)아크릴레이트, 에틸 (메타)아크릴레이트, 프로필 (메타)아크릴레이트, n-부틸 (메타)아크릴레이트, 이소부틸 (메타)아크릴레이트, t-부틸 (메타)아크릴레이트,
2-에틸헥실 (메타)아크릴레이트, n-옥틸 (메타)아크릴레이트, 라우릴 (메타)아크릴레이트, 스테아릴 (메타)아크릴레이트,
2-히드록시에틸 (메타)아크릴레이트, 폴리에틸렌 글리콜 (메타)아크릴레이트, 메톡시폴리에틸렌 글리콜 (메타)아크릴레이트, 글리시딜 (메타)아크릴레이트, 디메틸아미노에틸 (메타)아크릴레이트, 디에틸아미노에틸 (메타)아크릴레이트, 스티렌, P-메틸스티렌, m-메틸스티렌, P-에틸스티렌, m-에틸스티렌, P-클로로스티렌, m-클로로스티렌, P-클로로메틸스티렌, m-클로로메틸스티렌, 스티렌설폰산, p-t-부톡시스티렌, m-t-부톡시스티렌, 비닐 아세테이트, 비닐 프로피오네이트, 비닐 부티레이트, 비닐 에테르, 알릴 부틸 에트르, 알릴 글리시틸 에트르, (메타)아크릴산, 말레산, 불포화 카르복시산, 알킬 (메타)아크릴아마이드, (메타)아크릴로니트릴 및 (메타)아크릴레이트로 이루어진 군에서 선택되는 하나 이상일 수 있지만, 본 발명이 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
또한, 상기 유기 미립자는 폴리스티렌, 폴리메틸메타크릴레이트, 폴리메틸아크릴레이트, 폴리아크릴레이트, 폴리아크릴레이트 -co-스티렌, 폴리메틸아크릴레이트 -co-스티렌, 폴리메틸메타크릴레이트 -co-스티렌, 폴라카보네이트, 폴리비닐클로라이드, 폴리부틸렌테레프탈레이트, 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트, 폴리아마이드계, 폴리이미드계, 폴리술폰, 폴리페닐렌옥사이드, 폴리아세탈, 에폭시레진, 페놀레진, 실리콘 수지, 멜라민 수지, 벤조구아민, 폴리디비닐벤젠, 폴리디비닐벤젠 -co-스티렌, 폴리디비닐벤젠 -co-아크릴레이트, 폴리디알릴프탈레이트 및 트리알릴이소시아눌레이트폴리머 중에서 선택된 하나의 이상의 것 또는 이들의 2 이상의 코폴리머 (copolymer)인 것을 사용할 수 있지만, 본 발명이 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
또한, 상기 무기 미립자는 산화규소, 이산화티탄, 산화인듐, 산화주석, 산화지르코늄 및 산화아연으로 이루어진 무기 미립자 군으로부터 선택되는 1 종 이상을 사용할 수 있으나, 본 발명이 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
상기 유기 및 무기 미립자의 총 함량은, 상기 광경화성 바인더 100 중량부에 대하여, 약 1 내지 약 20 중량부, 바람직하게는 약 5 내지 약 15 중량부, 보다 바람직하게는 약 6 내지 약 10 중량부의 범위일 수 있다. 상기 유기 및 무기 미립자의 총 함량이 상기 광경화성 바인더 100 중량부에 대하여 1 증량부 미만으로 포함되는 경우, 내부 산란에 의한 헤이즈값이 충분하게 구현되지 않고, 20 증량부를 초과하는 경우, 조성물의 점도가 높아져 코팅성이 불량해지고 내부 산란에 의한 해이즈값이 너무 커져서 명암 대비비 (contrast ratio)가 저하될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 유기 또는 무기 미립자는 상기 광경화성 수지층과의 굴절율 차이가 약 0.005 내지 약 0.1 , 바람직하게는 약 0.01 내지 약 0.07, 보다 바람직하게는 약 0.015 내지 약 0.05가 될 수 있다. 상기 굴절율의 차이가 0.005 미만이면, 눈부심 방지에 요구되는 적절한 헤이즈값을 얻기 어려울 수 있다. 또한, 상기 굴절율 차이가 αι을 초과하면, 내부 산란이 증가하여 해이즈값이 증가하는 반면 명암 대비비가 저하될 수 있다.
한편, 본 발명의 조성물은 전술한 성분들 외에도, 계면활성제, 산화방지제, UV 안정제, 레벨링제, 방오제 등 본 발명이 속하는 기술 분야에서 통상적으로 사용되는 첨가제를 추가로 포함할 수 있다. 또한 그 함량은 본 발명의 조성물의 물성을 저하시키지 않는 범위 내에서 다양하게 조절할 수 있으므로, 특별히 제한하지는 않으나, 예를 들어 전체 조성물 100 중량부에 대하여, 약 0.1 내지 약 10 중량부로 포함될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 조성물을 이용하여 형성한 광경화성 수지층은 건조 및 경화 후 약 zm 이상으로, 예를 들어 약 1 내지 약 20/zni, 또는 약 2 내지 약 10 , 또는 약 2 내지 약 5 의 두께를 가질 수 있으며, 상기와 같은 두께 범위 내에서 적절한 광학 물성 및 물리적 특성을 나타낼 수 있다.
상기 조성물을 도포하는 방법은 본 기술이 속하는 기술분야에서 사용될 수 있는 것이면 특별히 제한되지 않으며, 예를 들면 바코팅 방식, 나이프 코팅방식, 롤 코팅방식, 블레이드 코팅방식, 다이 코팅방식, 마이크로 그라비아 코팅방식, 콤마코팅 방식, 슬롯다이 코팅방식, 립 코팅방식, 또는 솔루션 캐스팅방식 등을 이용할 수 있다.
다음에, 도포된 조성물에 자외선을 조사하여 광경화 반응을 수행함으로써 본 발명의 고색재현 필름을 형성할 수 있다. 상기 자외선을 조사하기 전, 조성물의 도포면을 평탄화하고, 조성물에 포함된 용매를 휘발시키기 위해 건조하는 과정을 더 수행할 수 있다.
상기 자외선의 조사량은, 예를 들면 약 20 내지 약 600 mJ/cm2일 수 있다. 자외선 조사의 광원으로는 본 기술이 속하는 기술분야에서 사용될 수 있는 것이면 특별히 제한되지 않으며, 예를 들면 고압 수은 램프, 메탈 할라이드 램프, 블랙 라이트 (black light) 형광 램프 등을 사용할 수 었다.
본 발명의 다른 일 구현예에 따르면, 편광자; 및 상기 편광자의 적어도 일면 상에, 편광자 보호 필름으로 상술한 고색재현 필름을 포함하는, 편광판을 제공한다.
상기 고색재현 필름에 대한 상세한 설명 및 이에 포함되는 성분들에 대한 상세한 설명 및 구체적인 예시는 상술한 바와 같다.
편광자는 여러 방향으로 진동하면서 입사되는 빛으로부터 한쪽 방향으로 진동하는 빛만을 추출할 수 있는 특성을 나타낸다. 이러한 특성은 요오드를 흡수한 PVA(poly vinyl alcohol)를 강한 장력으로 연신하여 달성할 수 있다. 예를 들어 보다 구체적으로, PVA 필름을 수용액에 담가 팽윤 (swelling)시키는 팽윤하는 단계, 상기 팽윤된 PVA 필름에 편광성을 부여하는 이색성 물질로 염색하는 단계, 상기 염색된 PVA 필름을 연신 (stretch)하여 상기 이색성 염료 물질을 연신 방향으로 나란하게 배열시키는 연신 단계, 및 상기 연신 단계를 거친 PVA 필름의 색을 보정하는 보색 단계를 거쳐 편광자를 형성할 수 있다. 그러나, 본 발명의 편광판이 이에 제한되는 것은 아니다.
본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 고색재현 필름은 편광자의 양 면에 모두 부착할 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 편광자의 일 면에만 상기 고색재현 필름이 구비되고, 다른 일 면에는 TAC과 같이 편광자 보호용으로 통상적으로 사용되는 범용의 보호 필름을 구비할 수 있다.
이때, 본 발명의 편광판은 LCD의 하부 편광판으로 사용될 수 있으며, LCD 내의 적층 구조에 있어서, 상기 고색재현 필름이 하부에 위치하도록 할 수 있다.
상술한 바와 같이 본 발명의 편광판은 고색재현 필름의 파장에 따른 광투과율 특성으로 인하여, LCD에서 백라이트의 스펙트럼 특성으로 인해 야기되는 흔색 현상을 완화하고 색순도를 높여 색재현성이 향상된 LCD를 제공할 수 있다.
또한, 상기와 같이 본 발명의 편광판을, 상기 고색재현 필름을 하부로 향하게 하여 LCD에 적층시킬 때, 편광관 하부에 구비되는 프리즘 시트 또는 확산 필름의 요철로 인하여 편광판의 하부 보호 필름이 손상됨으로써 헤이즈가 증가하는 문제점을 막아 우수한 광학 물성을 나타낼 수 있는 추가의 장점이 있다.
상기 편광자와 고색재현 필름은 접착제 등을 사용하여 라미네이션함으로써 접착시킬 수 있다. 사용 가능한 접착제로는 당 기술분야에 알려져 있는 것이면 특별히 제한되지 않는다. 예를 들면, 수계 접착제, 일액형 또는 이액형의 폴리비닐알콜 (PVA)계 접착제, 폴리우레탄계 접착제, 에폭시계 접착제, 스티렌 부타디엔 고무계 (SBR계) 접착제, 또는 핫멜트형 접착제 등이 있으나, 본 발명이 이들 예에만 한정되는 것은 아니다.
본 발명의 고색재현 필름을 편광자에 적층하여 접착할 때, 상기 광경화성 수지층이 형성되지 않은 기재면이 편광자에 부착되도록 하고, 상기 광경화성 수지층은 편광판의 바깥쪽으로 위치하도록 적층하는 것이 바람직하다.
이와 같은 본 발명의 고색재현 필름을 구비하는 편광판은, LCD에 적용하는 것으로 예를 들어 설명하였지만 이에 제한되는 것은 아니며, 다양한 분야에서 활용이 가능하다. 예를 들어 이동통신 단말기, 스마트폰, 기타 모바일 기기, 디스플레이 기기, 전자칠판, 옥외 전광판, 각종 표시부의 용도로 사용될 수 있다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 상기 편광판은 TN(Twisted Nematic), STN(Super Twisted Nematic) 액정용 편광판일 수 있으며, IPS(In-Plane Switching), Super-IPS, FFS(Fringe Field Switching) 등의 수평배향모드용 편광판일 수도 있고, 수직배향모드용 편광관일 수도 있다. 본 발명의 다른 일 구현예에 따르면, 백라이트 유닛; 상기 백라이트 유닛 상에 구비되는 프리즘 시트; 및 상기 프리즘 시트 상에 구비되며, 상기 고낵재현 필름이 상기 프리즘 시트 쪽을 향하도록 적층되는 편광판을 포함하는 액정 디스플레이 장치를 제공한다.
도 1은 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 액정 디스플레이를 도시하는 도면이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 본 발명의 액정 디스플레이 장치 (1 )는 백라이트 유닛 (10); 백라이트 유닛 (10) 상에 구비되는 프리즘 시트 (20); 및 프리즘 시트 (20) 상에 구비되며, 고색재현 필름 (40)이 프리즘 시트 (20) 쪽을 향하도록 적층되는 편광판 (100)을 포함한다.
백라이트 유닛 (10)은 액정 패널의 배면으로부터 광을 조사하는 광원을 포함하며, 상기 광원의 종류는 특별히 제한되지 않고, CCFL, HCFL, 또는 LED 등 일반적인 LCD용 광원을 사용할 수 있다.
백라이트 유닛 (10) 상부에는 프리즘 시트 (20)가 구비된다. 프리즘 시트 (20)는 백라이트 유닛 (10)으로부터 출사된 빛이 도광판과 확산 시트 (도면에 도시되지 않음)를 통과하면서 휘도가 떨어지게 되므로, 다시 광휘도를 올리기 위하여 구비되며, 이러한 프리즘 시트 (20)는 하부 편광판 아래쪽에 구비된다. 그런데 프리즘 시트 (20)는 요철 구조를 포함하고 있으므로, 프리즘 시트 (20)와 맞닿게 되는 하부 편광판의 하부 보호 필름이 손상됨으로써 헤이즈가 증가하는 문제점이 있다. ' 그러나, 본 발명의 액정 디스플레이 장치는, 고색재현 필름 (40)의 광경화성 수지층 (30a)이 프리즘 시트 (20) 쪽을 향하도록 편광판 (100)을 적층시킴으로써 이러한 문제점을 개선할 수 있다.
즉, 도 1을 참조하면, 프리즘 시트 (20) 상에, 편광자 (50)의 일면에는 범용의 보호 필름 (60)이 구비되고, 다른 일면에는 기재 (30b) 및 광경화성 수지층 (30a)을 포함하는 본 발명의 고색재현 필름 (40)이 부착된 편광판 (100)이 구비되며, 이때, 본 발명의 고색재현 필름 (40)이 LCD의 하부로 : 즉, 프리즘 시트 (20)쪽을 향하도록 적층되는 구조를 갖는다. 이러한 적층 구조로 인하여, 편광판 (100)이 프리즘 시트 (20)의 요철에 의해 손상됨으로써 해이즈가 증가하는 문제점을 막아 우수한 광학 물성을 나타낼 수 있다.
또한, 앞서 설명하였듯이, 고색재현 필름 (40)의 광경화성 수지층 (30a)의 파장에 따른 광투과율 특성으로 인하여, LCD에서 백라이트의 스펙트럼 특성으로 인해 야기되는 흔색 현상을 완화하고 색순도를 높여 색재현성이 향상된 LCD를 제공할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 프리즘 시트 (20)와 편광판 (100) 사이에, 또는 백라이트 유닛 (10)과 프리즘 시트 (20)사이에 확산 필름이나 DBEF(Dual Brightness Enhancement Film) (도면에 도시하지 않음)등이 더 포함될 수 있다. 프리즘 시트 (20)와 편광판 (100) 사이에 확산 필름이나 DBEF 필름이 위치하는 경우, 편광판 (100)의 고색재현 필름 (40)은 확산 필름 또는 DBEF 필름과 맞닿게 되며, 이러한 경우에도 확산 필름 또는 DBEF 필름 등에 의한 하부 편광판 손상 및 헤이즈 증가의 문제점을 동일하게 방지할 수 있다.
편광판 (100)의 상부에 구비되는 층은 일반적인 액정 디스플레이 장치의 구조에 따르며, 도 1에는 하부 유리 기판 (70), 박막 트랜지스터 (75), 액정층 (80), 컬러필터 (85), 상부 유리 기판 (90), 상부 편광판 (95)이 차례로 적층되는 것으로 도시하였으나, 본 발명의 LCD가 이에 제한되는 것은 아니며, 필요에 따라 상기 도 1에 도시된 층 중 일부가 변경 또는 제외되거나, 다른 층, 기판, 필름, 시트 등이 더해지는 구조를 모두 포함할 수 있다.
이하, 발명의 구체적인 실시예를 통해, 발명의 작용 및 효과를 보다 상술하기로 한다. 다만, 이러한 실시예는 발명의 예시로 제시된 것에 불과하며, 이에 의해 발명의 권리범위가 정해지는 것은 아니다.

고색재현 필름의 제조
실시예 1
펜타에리트리를 트리 (테트라)아크릴레이트 (PETA) 50g, 6 관능 우레탄 아크릴레이트 (상품명 : UA-306I) 50g, 염료 A (최대 흡수 파장이 593nm인 포르피린계 염료) lg, 광중합 개시제 (상품명: Irgacure 184) lg, 용매 MEK 100g을 흔합하여 조성물을 제조하고 60 두께의 TAC 필름에 코팅하였다. 이를 60°C에서 2분간 건조한 후, 수은 램프로 200mj/cm2의 UV를 조사하여 두께가 5/ini인 광경화성 수지충을 형성하였다. 실시예 2
실시예 1에서, 염료 A를 1.5g으로 사용한 것을 제외하고는 나머지 공정은 실시예 1과 동일하게 하여 필름을 제조하였다. 비교예 1

<측정 방법 >
실시예 1 내지 2 및 비교예 1 내지 4의 필름에 대하여 하기 방법으로 물성을 측정하였다. 1 ) 광투과율 및 최대 흡수 파장
UV-VIS-NIR 스펙트로미터 (Solidspec-3700, SHIMADZU社)로 300 내지 800nm 파장에서의 광투과율을 적분구 타입으로 측정하였다.
2) 내스크래치성
실시예 1 내지 2 및 비교예 1 내지 4의 필름의 수지층 표면에 대해, Steel wool #0에 하중을 다르게 걸고 왕복하여 10회 문지른 뒤 홈집이 생기지 않는 최대 하중을 확인하였다.
3) 연필경도
연필경도계 (정도시험기, 제조사: 층북테크)를 이용하여 500g 하중에서 연필 경도를 측정하였다. ASTM 3363-74에 따라 표준 연필 (Mitsubishi)을 6B~9H로 변화시키면서 45도 각도를 유지하여 수지층 표면에 스크래치를 가하여 표면의 변화를 관찰하였다. 각각의 실험값은 5회 측정 후 평균값으로 기재하였다. 상기 물성 측정 결과를 하기 표 1에 나타내었다.

* 자외선 조사 전후 650~710nm 파장에서의 광투과율 변화는 조성물 도포 후 자외선 조사 전에 측정한 650~710nm 파장에서의 광투과율 (τ1 )과, 자외선 조사 후에 측정한 650~710nm 파장에서의 광투과율 (τ2)의 차이 (τ1-τ2)를 τΐ에 대한 백분율로 계산하였다. 상기 표 1과 같이, 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 고색재현 필름은 400 내지 550nm 파장 영역에서의 평균 광투과율이 70% 초과이고, 580 내지 610nm 파장 영역에서의 평균 광투과율이 20% 초과 및 50% 미만이고, 650 내지 710mn 파장 영역에서의 평균 광투과율이 90% 초과이면서, 최대 흡수 파장이 585 내지 600nm인, 파장에 따른 고유의 광투과율 특성을 나타내었다. 이에 따라, 자외선 조사 전 .후 650~710mn 파장에서의 광투과율 변화가 5% 미만으로 자외선에 대해 광안정성이 우수한 특성을 보이며, 높은 색재현성을 나타내었다. 또한, 400g 이상의 내스크래치성 및 2H 이상의 연필 경도를 나타내어 액정 디스플레이용 편광판에 적합한 물성을 나타내었다. 한편, 비교예 1 내지 3은 본원 발명과 같은 파장에 따른 광투과율과 광안정성을 나타내지 못하였고, 비교예 4의 경우 열가소성 수지층으로 인해 충분한 내스크래치성 및 연필 경도를 나타내지 못하였다.

Claims

【특허청구범위】
【청구항 1】
기재; 및 상기 기재의 적어도 일면에 구비되는 광경화성 수지층을 포함하고,
최대 흡수 파장이 585 내지 600nm이고,
650 내지 710nm 파장 영역에서의 평균 광투과율이 90% 초과인, 고색재현 필름.
【청구항 2]
제 1항에 있어서,
400 내지 550nm 파장 영역에서의 평균 광투과율이 70% 초과이고, 580 내지 610nm 파장 영역에서의 평균 광투과율이 20% 초과 및 50% 미만인, 고색재현 필름.
【청구항 3】
겨 U항에 있어서, 500g 하중에서 H 이상의 연필 경도를 나타내는, 고색재현 필름.
【청구항 4]
제 1항에 있어서, 마찰시험기에 스틸울 (steel wool) #0을 장착한 후
200g의 하중으로 10회 왕복시킬 경우에 스크래치가 발생하지 않는, 고색재현

겨 15항에 있어서, 상기 최대 흡수 파장이 580 내지 610nm인 염료 또는 안료는 포르피린 (porphyrin) 유도체 화합물, 시아닌 (cyanine) 유도체 화합물, 및 스쿠아릴리움 (squarylium) 유도체 화합물로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 1종 이상을 포함하는, 고색재현 필름.
【청구항 7】
제 5항에 있어서, 상기 광경화성 수지층 100 중량부에 대하여, 상기 최대 흡수 파장이 580 내지 610nm인 염료 또는 안료를 0.1 내지 5 중량부로 포함하는, 고색재현 필름.

제 1항에 있어서, 하기 식 1의 광투과율의 변화가 5% 미만인, 고색재현 필름:

상기 식 1에서, UV 경화는, 광경화성 수지층 형성용 조성물을 투명 기재 상에 도포한 후, 290 내지 320nm 파장의 자외선을 20 내지 600 mJ/cm2의 조사량으로경화한 것을 의미한다.

편광자; 및
상기 편광자의 적어도 일면 상에, 편광자 보호 필름으로 제 1항의 고색재현 필름을 포함하는, 편광판.

백라이트 유닛;
상기 백라이트 유닛 상에 구비되는 프리즘 시트; 및
상기 프리즘 시트 상에 구비되며, 고색재현 필름이 상기 프리즘 시트 쪽을 향하도록 적층되는 제 9항의 편광판을 포함하는, 액정 디스플레이 장치.
【청구항 1 1】 제 10항에 있어서, 상기 프리즘 시트와 편광판 사이에 확산 필름 또는 DBEF(Dual Brightness Enhancement Film)를 더 포함하는, 액정 디스플레이 장치.

광경화성 바인더; 최대 흡수 파장이 580 내지 610nm인 염료 또는 안료; 광중합 개시제; 및 용매를 포함하는, 고색재현 필름용 조성물.
【청구항 13】
제 12항에 있어서, 상기 최대 흡수 파장이 580 내지 610nm인 염료 또는 안료는 포르피린 (porphyrin) 유도체 화합물, 시아닌 (cyanine) 유도체 화합물, 및 스쿠아릴리움 (squarylium) 유도체 화합물로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 1종 이상을 포함하는, 조성물.
【청구항 14】
제 12항에 있어서, 상기 광경화성 바인더 100 중량부에 대하여, 상기 최대 흡수 파장이 580 내지 610nm인 염료 또는 안료를 0.1 내지 5 중량부, 상기 광증합 개시제를 0.1 내지 10 중량부, 상기 용매를 10 내지 200 중량부로 포함하는, 조성물.
