 上記第1の局面による基板作業装置において、好ましくは、粘性流体を供給する粘性流体供給部をさらに備え、制御部は、取得された粘性流体の残量が所定のしきい値以下であると判断される場合には、粘性流体供給部から粘性流体を供給する制御を行うように構成されている。このように構成すれば、正確に測定された粘性流体の残量に基づいて粘性流体を供給することができるので、粘性流体を適量だけ供給することができる。その結果、粘性流体が不足しないように必要量以上に余分に粘性流体を供給する場合と異なり、粘性流体の使用量が増加することを抑制することができる。また、自動で粘性流体が供給されるので、粘性流体が不足し、転写対象物に粘性流体が十分に転写されないという不都合が生じることを抑制することができる。
 上記第1の局面による基板作業装置において、好ましくは、基板に対して部品を実装するとともに、スキージ部に対して相対的に移動可能な実装ヘッド、をさらに備え、撮像部は、実装ヘッドと共にスキージ部に対して相対的に移動するように構成されている。このように構成すれば、実装ヘッドと撮像部とを共通の移動機構により移動させることができるので、粘性流体の残量を測定するための装置構成が複雑化することを抑制することができる。
 この場合、好ましくは、撮像部は、基板を認識するための基板認識マークを撮像する基板認識用撮像部を含む。このように構成すれば、基板認識用撮像部を、粘性流体の残量測定用の撮像部としても用いることができるので、粘性流体の残量を測定するための装置構成が複雑化することをより抑制することができる。
 上記第1の局面による基板作業装置において、好ましくは、スキージ部は、粘性流体を貯留可能な枠形状を有しており、撮像部は、粘性流体が貯留される枠形状を有するスキージ部の内部において塊状となった粘性流体が存在する部分と粘性流体が存在しない部分とを含むスキージ部の内部の所定領域を撮像するように構成されている。このように構成すれば、枠形状を有するスキージ部により、粘性流体を容易に塊状とすることができる。その結果、塊状となった粘性流体が存在する部分と粘性流体が存在しない部分とを容易に形成し、撮像部により撮像することができる。
 上記第1の局面による基板作業装置において、好ましくは、転写対象物は、基板に実装される部品を含み、部品に転写される粘性流体の塗膜が形成される塗膜形成プレートをさらに備え、スキージ部は、塗膜形成プレートに対して相対的に移動して粘性流体を掻き取りながらならし、塗膜形成プレート上に、部品に転写される粘性流体の塗膜を形成するように構成されており、撮像部は、塗膜形成プレートの上方から、塗膜形成プレート上で塊状となった粘性流体が存在する部分と、粘性流体が存在しない部分とを含む所定領域を撮像するように構成されている。このように構成すれば、塗膜形成プレートに形成された粘性流体の塗膜が部品に対して転写される構成において、粘性流体の残量を正確(定量的)かつ確実に測定することができる。
 上記第1の局面による基板作業装置において、好ましくは、転写対象物は、部品が実装される基板を含み、基板に粘性流体を印刷により転写するための印刷パターンを有するマスクをさらに備え、スキージ部は、マスク上を移動して粘性流体を掻き取りながらならし、印刷パターンを介してマスク上の粘性流体を基板に転写するように構成されており、撮像部は、マスクの上方から、マスク上で塊状となった粘性流体が存在する部分と、粘性流体が存在しない部分とを含む所定領域を撮像するように構成されている。このように構成すれば、印刷パターンを介してはんだなどのマスク上の粘性流体が基板に対して転写される構成において、はんだなどの粘性流体の残量を正確(定量的)かつ確実に測定することができる。
 上記第1の局面による基板作業装置において、好ましくは、所定領域に対して光を照射可能な照明部をさらに備え、照明部は、粘性流体の種類に応じて、所定領域に照射する光の強度、所定領域に照射する光の角度、および所定領域に照射する光の波長の少なくともいずれかを変更可能に構成されている。このように構成すれば、粘性流体の種類に応じた適切な照明によって所定領域を撮像することができるので、塊状となった粘性流体が存在する部分と粘性流体が存在しない部分とを容易に区別して認識可能なように撮像することができる。その結果、粘性流体の残量をより正確に測定することができる。
 この発明の第2の局面による基板作業装置における粘性流体残量測定方法は、転写対象物に転写される粘性流体をスキージ部によって掻き取りながらならすステップと、スキージ部により掻き取られて、塊状となった粘性流体が存在する部分と、粘性流体が存在しない部分とを含む所定領域を撮像部により撮像するステップと、撮像部により撮像された所定領域の撮像画像のうち粘性流体が存在する部分の大きさ、または粘性流体が存在しない部分の大きさの少なくとも一方に基づいて、粘性流体の残量を制御部により取得するステップと、を備える。
 この発明の第2の局面による基板作業装置における粘性流体残量測定方法では、上記のように、撮像部により撮像された所定領域の撮像画像のうち粘性流体が存在する部分の大きさ、または粘性流体が存在しない部分の大きさの少なくとも一方に基づいて、粘性流体の残量を制御部により取得するステップを設ける。これにより、上記第1の局面による基板作業装置の場合と同様に、粘性流体の残量を正確に測定することができるとともに、有色の粘性流体であっても残量を測定することができる。
 本発明によれば、上記のように、粘性流体の残量を正確に測定することが可能で、かつ、有色の粘性流体であっても残量を測定することが可能な基板作業装置および基板作業装置における粘性流体残量測定方法を提供することができる。

 以下、本発明を具体化した実施形態を図面に基づいて説明する。
 [第1実施形態]
 (基板作業装置の構成)
 まず、図1~図8を参照して、本発明の第1実施形態による基板作業装置100の構成について説明する。第1実施形態では、基板Pに部品31を実装する部品実装装置に本発明を適用した例について説明する。
 図1に示すように、基板作業装置100は、一対のコンベア2により基板PをX1方向側からX2方向側に搬送し、所定の実装作業位置Mにおいて基板Pに部品31を実装する部品実装装置である。なお、部品31は、特許請求の範囲の「転写対象物」の一例である。
 基板作業装置100は、基台1と、一対のコンベア2と、部品供給部3と、ヘッドユニット4と、支持部5と、一対のレール部6と、部品認識カメラ7と、転写ユニット8と、制御部9とを備えている。
 一対のコンベア2は、基台1上に設置され、基板PをX方向に搬送するように構成されている。また、一対のコンベア2は、搬送中の基板Pを実装作業位置Mで停止させた状態で保持するように構成されている。また、一対のコンベア2は、Y方向に所定距離を隔てて互いに平行に配置されており、基板Pの寸法に合わせてY方向の間隔を調整可能に構成されている。
 部品供給部3は、一対のコンベア2の両外側(Y1側およびY2側)の複数箇所に配置されている。また、部品供給部3には、複数のテープフィーダ3aが装着されている。
 テープフィーダ3aは、複数の部品31を所定の間隔を隔てて保持したテープが巻き付けられたリール(図示せず)を保持している。テープフィーダ3aは、リールを回転させて部品31を保持するテープを送出することにより、テープフィーダ3aの先端から部品31を供給するように構成されている。ここで、部品31は、たとえば、IC、トランジスタ、コンデンサおよび抵抗などの電子部品を示す概念である。
 ヘッドユニット4は、一対のコンベア2および部品供給部3の上方位置に配置されており、ノズル41を下端に含む複数の実装ヘッド42と、基板認識カメラ43とを含んでいる。なお、基板認識カメラ43は、特許請求の範囲の「撮像部」および「基板認識用撮像部」の一例である。
 ノズル41は、負圧発生機(図示せず)によりノズル41の先端部に発生された負圧によって、テープフィーダ3aから供給される部品31を吸着して保持し、基板Pに搭載(実装)するように構成されている。
 基板認識カメラ43は、基板Pの位置を認識するためのフィデューシャルマークFを撮像するように構成されている。フィデューシャルマークFの位置を撮像して認識することにより、基板Pの部品31の実装位置を正確に取得することが可能である。また、基板認識カメラ43には、複数の照明部43a(図2参照)が設けられている。照明部43aは、基板認識カメラ43によるフィデューシャルマークFの撮像および後述する所定領域A(図3参照)の撮像の際に、フィデューシャルマークFおよび所定領域Aに対して光を照射可能に構成されている。なお、フィデューシャルマークFは、特許請求の範囲の「基板認識マーク」の一例である。
 支持部5は、モータ51を含んでいる。支持部5は、モータ51を駆動させることにより、ヘッドユニット4を支持部5に沿ってX方向に移動させるように構成されている。また、支持部5は、両端部が一対のレール部6により支持されている。
 一対のレール部6は、基台1上に固定されている。X1側のレール部6は、モータ61を含んでいる。レール部6は、モータ61を駆動させることにより、支持部5を一対のレール部6に沿ってX方向と直交するY方向に移動させるように構成されている。ヘッドユニット4が支持部5に沿ってX方向に移動可能であるとともに、支持部5がレール部6に沿ってY方向に移動可能であることによって、ヘッドユニット4はXY方向に移動可能である。
 部品認識カメラ7は、基台1の上面上に固定されている。部品認識カメラ7は、部品31の実装に先立って部品31の吸着状態(吸着姿勢)を認識するために、実装ヘッド42のノズル41に吸着された部品31を下側(Z2側)から撮像するように構成されている。これにより、実装ヘッド42のノズル41に吸着された部品31の吸着状態を取得することが可能である。
 転写ユニット8は、一対のコンベア2のY2側に配置されており、基板作業装置100に着脱可能に装着されている。また、転写ユニット8は、部品31に転写するための後述する粘性流体Lの塗膜Laを形成するように構成されている。
 また、図2および図3に示すように、転写ユニット8は、粘性流体供給部81と、粘性流体タンク82と、塗膜形成プレート83と、プレート駆動機構84とを含んでいる。なお、粘性流体タンク82は、特許請求の範囲の「スキージ部」の一例である。また、図2および図8では、理解の容易のため、実装ヘッド42と、基板認識カメラ43との両方を一図で示している。このため、図2および図8における両者の位置関係は図1における両者の位置関係とは必ずしも対応しない。
 粘性流体供給部81は、粘性流体Lを粘性流体タンク82に供給するように構成されている。また、粘性流体供給部81は、本体部81aと、ピストン部81bと、蓋部81cと、供給路81dとを有している。
 本体部81aは、中空の略円筒形状を有し、内部にフラックスやはんだなどの粘性流体L(ハッチングにより示す)を貯留可能に構成されている。ピストン部81bは、本体部81aの内部に配置され、上下方向(Z方向)に摺動可能に本体部81aの内側面に嵌合されている。粘性流体Lは、本体部81aとピストン部81bとにより区画される本体部81aの内部空間に充填(貯留)される。蓋部81cは、本体部81aの上端部に配置されており、本体部81aを密閉するように構成されている。また、蓋部81cには、所定圧力のエア(空気)を本体部81a内部に供給するために、エアホースHの一端が接続されている。また、エアホースHの他端は、バルブ91に接続されている。バルブ91は、図示しない空圧源に接続され、所定圧力のエアを本体81a内部に供給する開状態と、エアを本体81a内部に供給しない閉状態とを切り替え可能に構成されている。供給路81dは、本体部81aの下端に配置されており、粘性流体タンク82の側面に接続されている。
 粘性流体供給部81は、バルブ91が「開状態」の場合には、エアホースHから蓋部81cを介して本体81a内部に所定圧力のエアが供給され、ピストン81bが下方向(Z2方向)に移動されることにより、供給路81dを介して粘性流体タンク82に対して本体81a内部に充填された粘性流体Lを圧送(供給)するように構成されている。また、粘性流体供給部81は、バルブ91が「閉状態」の場合には、ピストン81bが下方向(Z2方向)に移動されないため、供給路81dを介して粘性流体タンク82に対して本体81a内部に充填された粘性流体Lを圧送(供給)しないように構成されている。
 粘性流体タンク82は、上下が開口した中空の枠形状を有し、塗膜形成プレート83上に配置されることにより、粘性流体供給部81からの粘性流体Lを内部に貯留可能に構成されている。また、粘性流体タンク82は、図示しない固定機構により固定されており、移動しない。また、粘性流体タンク82は、図示しない付勢機構により塗膜形成プレート83に向けて付勢されるように構成されている。枠形状の粘性流体タンク82は、上部が開口しているため、基板認識カメラ43が粘性流体タンク82の内部空間を上方から撮像することが可能である。
 塗膜形成プレート83は、平面視で(Z方向から見て)略矩形状を有し、プレート駆動機構84により長手方向(図2および図3の駆動方向)に移動可能に構成されている。また、塗膜形成プレート83の上面83aには、粘性流体Lの塗膜Laを形成するために、塗膜Laの膜厚t分だけ上面83aから下方に向けて凹む塗膜形成部83bが設けられている。
 そして、粘性流体タンク82は、内部に粘性流体Lが貯留された状態で、プレート駆動機構84により塗膜形成プレート83が駆動方向に移動されることにより、塗膜形成プレート83に対して相対的に移動して粘性流体Lを掻き取りながらならす(スキージングする)ように構成されている。これにより、粘性流体タンク82は、部品31に転写される粘性流体Lの塗膜Laを、塗膜形成プレート83の塗膜形成部83bに形成するように構成されている。
 プレート駆動機構84は、たとえば、ボールねじ、ボールナットおよびモータなどからなる駆動機構とすることが可能であり、塗膜形成プレート83を駆動方向に移動させることが可能に構成されている。
 制御部9は、CPUを含んでおり、ヘッドユニット4による実装動作、後述する転写ユニット8のスキージング動作、塊状流体撮像動作、粘性流体転写動作などの基板作業装置100の全体の動作を制御するように構成されている。
 (粘性流体の残量の取得)
 次に、図3~図5を参照して、粘性流体タンク82に貯留されている粘性流体Lの残量の取得方法について説明する。
 スキージング動作が行われると、粘性流体タンク82の内部の粘性流体Lは、転がり回転(ローリング)して、概略円柱状断面の塊(Lb)となる。図2および図3に示すように、基板認識カメラ43(図1参照)は、粘性流体タンク82に貯留されている粘性流体Lの残量を測定するために、転写ユニット8の粘性流体タンク82により掻き取られて、塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分と、粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分とを含む所定領域Aを撮像するように構成されている。
 この際、基板認識カメラ43は、塗膜形成プレート83および塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)の上方から、粘性流体Lが貯留される枠形状を有する粘性流体タンク82の内部において、塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分と、粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分とを含む所定領域Aを撮像するように構成されている。
 ここで、第1実施形態では、図4および図5に示すように、制御部9は、基板認識カメラ43により撮像された所定領域Aの撮像画像B1のうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1の大きさ、および粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分C2の大きさに基づいて、粘性流体タンク82に貯留されている粘性流体Lの残量を取得するように構成されている。
 具体的には、制御部9は、所定領域Aの撮像画像B1に基づいて、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体Lが存在する部分C1の面積、および粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2の面積を取得するように構成されている。そして、制御部9は、取得された所定領域Aのうち粘性流体Lが存在する部分C1の面積、および粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2の面積に基づいて、粘性流体Lの残量を取得するように構成されている。
 また、第1実施形態では、制御部9は、所定領域Aの撮像画像B1を二値化処理することにより、所定領域Aの二値化画像B2を取得するとともに、取得された二値化画像B2に基づいて、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体Lが存在する部分C1の面積、および粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2の面積を取得するように構成されている。以下、これらの点について詳細に説明する。
 図4に示すように、まず、基板認識カメラ43により撮像された所定領域Aの撮像画像B1(図4の左側に示す二値化処理前の画像)が制御部9により取得される。この際、所定領域Aの撮像画像B1では、粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1では、粘性流体L(Lb)により光が拡散反射されるため、比較的暗めの画像が得られる。一方、粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分C2では、金属製の塗膜形成プレート83の上面83aにより光が正反射されるため、比較的明るめの画像が得られる。したがって、所定領域Aの撮像画像B1では、撮像画像のうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1と、撮像画像のうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分C2とを区別して認識することが可能である。
 そして、取得された所定領域Aの撮像画像B1に対して白と黒との二階調の画像に変換する二値化処理が制御部9により行われる。これにより、所定領域Aの撮像画像B1は、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1(比較的暗めの画像部分)が黒で、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分C2(比較的明るめの部分)が白で表された所定領域Aの撮像画像(図4の右側に示す二値化処理後の画像、二値化画像)B2に変換される。
 そして、取得された二値化画像B2に基づいて、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1の面積(すなわち、黒の部分の面積)と、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分C2の面積(すなわち、白の部分の面積)とが制御部9により取得される。詳細には、二値化画像B2のうち黒の部分の画素数に基づいて、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1の面積が取得され、二値化画像B2のうち白の部分の画素数に基づいて、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分C2の面積が取得される。
 そして、取得された粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1の面積および粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分C2の面積に基づいて、所定領域Aに対する粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1の面積割合(X%)、および所定領域Aに対する粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分C2の面積割合(Y=100-X%)が制御部9により取得される。
 ここで、図5に示すように、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1の面積割合と、粘性流体タンク82の内部の粘性流体Lの残量との間には、相関がある。このため、上記のように所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1の面積割合を取得することにより、粘性流体タンク82に貯留されている粘性流体Lの残量を取得することが可能である。なお、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分C2の面積割合と、粘性流体タンク82の内部の粘性流体Lの残量との間にも、同様に相関があるため、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分C2の面積割合を取得することにより、粘性流体タンク82に貯留されている粘性流体Lの残量を取得してもよい。
 したがって、制御部9は、予め設定された所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分の面積割合と粘性流体タンク82に貯留されている粘性流体Lの残量との間の相関情報に基づいて、取得された粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分の面積割合から、粘性流体タンク82に貯留されている粘性流体Lの残量を取得するように構成されている。
 また、第1実施形態では、制御部9は、取得された粘性流体Lの残量が、粘性流体Lを供給するか否かを判定するための所定のしきい値Th(図5参照)以下であるか否かを判断するように構成されている。なお、所定のしきい値Thは、図5に示すグラフに基づいて、ユーザにより予め設定される。
 そして、制御部9は、粘性流体Lの残量が所定のしきい値Th以下であると判断される場合には、粘性流体供給部81から粘性流体タンク82に対して粘性流体Lを所定量だけ供給する制御を行うように構成されている。
 また、制御部9は、粘性流体Lの残量が所定のしきい値Thよりも大きいと判断される場合には、粘性流体供給部81から粘性流体タンク82に対して粘性流体Lを供給しない制御を行うように構成されている。
 (照明部の構成)
 また、第1実施形態では、照明部43a(図2参照)は、粘性流体Lの種類に応じて、所定領域Aに照射する光の強度、所定領域Aに照射する光の角度、および所定領域Aに照射する光の波長を変更可能に構成されている。
 具体的には、照明部43aは、基板認識カメラ43のレンズ周辺に輪状に配置され、可視光を照射可能な内輪照明部と、内輪照明部の外側に輪状に配置され、可視光を照射可能な外輪照明部と、赤外光を照射可能な赤外照明部とを含んでいる。また、照明部43aは、内輪照明部、外輪照明部、および赤外照明部のそれぞれを、独立して発光させることが可能に構成されている。また、内輪照明部、外輪照明部および赤外照明部は、互いに異なる角度で、所定領域Aに光を照射可能に構成されている。
 したがって、照明部43aは、内輪照明部、外輪照明部、および赤外照明部のうち発光させる照明部の数を変更することにより、所定領域Aに照射する光の強度および光の角度を変更可能に構成されている。また、照明部43aは、内輪照明部および/または外輪照明部だけを発光させることにより、可視光を照射し、赤外照明部だけを発光させることにより、赤外光を照射することによって、所定領域Aに照射する光の波長を変更可能に構成されている。
 図6では、フラックスおよびはんだの二種類の粘性流体について、照明部43aによる照明ありの場合(内輪照明部、外輪照明部、および赤外照明部の3つから光を照射する場合)の所定領域Aの撮像画像(二値化処理後の撮像画像)を示している。図6に示すように、粘性流体としてはんだが用いられる場合には、粘性流体Lの残量の多少に関わらず、粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分が黒で表され、粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分が白で表されているため、両者を区別して認識することが可能である。
 一方、粘性流体としてフラックスが用いられる場合には、粘性流体Lの残量が少ないときには、両者を区別して認識することができるものの、粘性流体Lの残量が多いときには、粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分が白で表されるため、両者を区別して認識することが困難になる場合がある。
 また、図7では、フラックスについて、照明部43aによる照明変更の場合(内輪照明部および赤外照明部の2つから光を照射する場合)の所定領域Aの撮像画像(二値化処理後の撮像画像)を示している。図7に示すように、照明部43aによる照明変更の場合には、粘性流体としてフラックスが用いられるときであっても、粘性流体Lの残量の多少に関わらず、粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分が黒で表され、粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分が白で表されているため、両者を区別して認識することができる。このように、照明部43aは、粘性流体Lの種類に応じて、所定領域Aに照射する光の強度、所定領域Aに照射する光の角度、および所定領域Aに照射する光の波長を変更するように構成されている。
 (転写ユニットに関する動作)
 次に、図8を参照して、転写ユニットに関する動作として、スキージング動作、塊状流体撮像動作、および粘性流体転写動作について説明する。
 図8(A)に示すように、部品31に粘性流体Lを転写する前に、プレート駆動機構84により塗膜形成プレート83を駆動方向に往復移動させることにより、塗膜形成プレート83の塗膜形成部83bに、粘性流体タンク82に貯留されている粘性流体Lが充填される。同時に、粘性流体タンク82により粘性流体Lが掻き取られてならされる。この結果、図8(B)に示すように、塗膜形成プレート83の塗膜形成部83bに、部品31に対する粘性流体Lの転写に適した厚みtで粘性流体Lの塗膜Laが形成される。このスキージング動作は、部品31に粘性流体Lを転写する毎に行われる。
 また、図8(B)に示すように、スキージング動作の際、粘性流体タンク82の内部では、ローリングと呼ばれる粘性流体Lの巻き込み現象が発生するため、スキージング後の粘性流体タンク82の内部には、塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)が形成される。そして、塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)が形成されている間に、塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分と、粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分とを含む所定領域A(図3参照)がヘッドユニット4の基板認識カメラ43により撮像される。この際、粘性流体タンク82の内部の粘性流体Lの残量を正確に測定する観点から、塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)の形状が崩れる前に基板認識カメラ43による撮像が行われることが好ましい。したがって、スキージング動作が終わる前に、基板認識カメラ43を、所定領域Aを撮像するための所定位置に待機させておくことが好ましい。
 その後、図8(C)に示すように、ヘッドユニット4の実装ヘッド42が昇降することにより、実装ヘッド42に吸着された部品31に対して、塗膜形成プレート83に形成された塗膜状の粘性流体L(La)が転写される。なお、図8では、粘性流体転写動作に合わせて、部品31に転写される粘性流体Lの塗膜Laを形成するためのスキージング動作を行った例を示したが、これに限られず、塊状流体撮像動作に合わせて、塊状となった粘性流体Lの撮像のためのスキージング動作を行ってもよい。
 (粘性流体自動供給処理)
 次に、図9を参照して、基板作業装置100における転写ユニット8の粘性流体自動供給処理について、フローチャートに基づいて説明する。なお、基板作業装置100の動作は、制御部9により行われる。
 まず、図9に示すように、ステップS1において、プレート駆動機構84により塗膜形成プレート83が移動されることにより、粘性流体タンク82により粘性流体Lのスキージング動作が行われる。
 そして、ステップS2において、基板認識カメラ43により所定領域Aを撮像する撮像タイミングであるか否かが判断される。撮像タイミングとしては、たとえば、前回の塊状流体撮像動作からスキージング動作が所定回数行われた場合や、前回の塊状流体撮像動作から所定時間経過した場合、後述するステップS6の粘性流体供給動作が行われた場合などとすることが可能である。
 ステップS2において、撮像タイミングではないと判断される場合には、ステップS5に進み、粘性流体転写動作が行われる。なお、粘性流体転写動作が行われた後、実装ヘッド42に吸着されている部品31は、基板Pに実装される。
 また、ステップS2において、撮像タイミングであると判断される場合には、ステップS3に進む。
 そして、ステップS3において、塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分と、粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分とを含む所定領域Aの撮像が基板認識カメラ43により行われる。
 そして、ステップS4において、基板認識カメラ43による撮像画像に基づいて、粘性流体Lの残量が所定のしきい値Th以下であるか否かが判断される。粘性流体Lの残量が所定のしきい値Th以下ではないと判断される場合には、粘性流体タンク82に対する粘性流体Lの供給(補給)は必要ないと考えられるので、ステップS5に進み、粘性流体タンク82に対する粘性流体Lの供給が行われることなく、粘性流体転写動作が行われる。
 また、ステップS4において、粘性流体Lの残量が所定のしきい値Th以下であると判断される場合には、粘性流体タンク82に対する粘性流体Lの供給(補給)が必要であると考えられるので、ステップS6に進む。
 そして、ステップS6において、粘性流体供給部81から粘性流体タンク82に対して粘性流体Lを所定量だけ供給する粘性流体供給動作が行われる。これにより、粘性流体Lの残量が所定のしきい値Th以下である場合には、粘性流体Lが粘性流体タンク82に自動で供給(補給)される。
 また、粘性流体Lの残量が所定のしきい値Th以下であった場合には、前回のスキージング動作により塗膜形成プレート83に粘性流体Lの塗膜が正常に形成されていない可能性があるため、ステップS1に戻り、再び、スキージング動作が行われる。以上の動作が、実装ヘッド42に吸着されている部品31毎に順次実行される。
 (第1実施形態の効果)
 第1実施形態では、以下のような効果を得ることができる。
 第1実施形態では、上記のように、基板認識カメラ43により撮像された所定領域Aの撮像画像B1のうち粘性流体Lが存在する部分C1の大きさ、および粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2の大きさに基づいて、粘性流体Lの残量を取得する制御部9を設ける。これにより、塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1の大きさと粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2の大きさとが、粘性流体Lの残量と相関することを利用して、粘性流体Lの残量を正確(定量的)に測定することができる。また、塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1と粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2とを含む所定領域Aが撮像され、所定領域Aの撮像画像B1に基づいて残量が取得されるので、粘性流体L越しに認識マークを撮像する構成と異なり、有色の粘性流体Lであっても、残量を容易に測定することができる。
 また、第1実施形態では、所定領域Aの撮像画像B1に基づいて、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体Lが存在する部分C1の面積および粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2の面積を取得するととともに、取得された粘性流体Lが存在する部分C1の面積および粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2の面積に基づいて、粘性流体Lの残量を取得するように制御部9を構成する。これにより、たとえば光センサによる点の測定結果に基づいて粘性流体の残量が取得される場合と異なり、粘性流体Lの残量が面積に基づいて取得されるので、粘性流体タンク82による掻き取り動作毎に塊状となった粘性流体Lの形状に多少ばらつきがあったとしても、粘性流体Lの残量を安定して正確(定量的)に測定することができる。
 また、第1実施形態では、所定領域Aの撮像画像B1を二値化処理することにより、所定領域Aの二値化画像B2を取得するとともに、取得された二値化画像B2に基づいて、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体Lが存在する部分C1の面積および粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2の面積を取得するように制御部9を構成する。これにより、粘性流体Lが存在する部分C1の面積または粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2の面積を容易に取得することができる。
 また、第1実施形態では、取得された粘性流体Lの残量が所定のしきい値Th以下であると判断される場合には、粘性流体供給部81から粘性流体Lを供給する制御を行うように制御部9を構成する。これにより、正確に測定された粘性流体Lの残量に基づいて粘性流体Lを供給することができるので、粘性流体Lを適量だけ供給することができる。その結果、粘性流体Lが不足しないように必要量以上に余分に粘性流体Lを供給する場合と異なり、粘性流体Lの使用量が増加することを抑制することができる。また、自動で粘性流体Lが供給されるので、粘性流体Lが不足し、転写対象物である部品31に粘性流体Lが十分に転写されないという不都合が生じることを抑制することができる。
 また、第1実施形態では、実装ヘッド42と共に粘性流体タンク82に対して相対的に移動するように基板認識カメラ43を構成する。これにより、実装ヘッド42と基板認識カメラ43とを共通の移動機構により移動させることができるので、粘性流体Lの残量を測定するための装置構成が複雑化することを抑制することができる。
 また、第1実施形態では、粘性流体Lの残量測定用撮像部は、基板Pを認識するためのフィディーシャルマークFを撮像する基板認識カメラ43である。これにより、基板認識カメラ43を、粘性流体Lの残量測定用の撮像部としても用いることができるので、粘性流体Lの残量を測定するための装置構成が複雑化することをより抑制することができる。
 また、第1実施形態では、粘性流体Lが貯留される枠形状を有する粘性流体タンク82の内部において塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1と粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2とを含む粘性流体タンク82の内部の所定領域Aを撮像するように基板認識カメラ43を構成する。これにより、枠形状を有する粘性流体タンク82により、粘性流体Lを容易に塊状とすることができる。その結果、塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1と粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2とを容易に形成し、基板認識カメラ43により撮像することができる。
 また、第1実施形態では、塗膜形成プレート83に対して相対的に移動して粘性流体Lを掻き取りながらならし、塗膜形成プレート83上に、部品31に転写される粘性流体Lの塗膜Laを形成するように粘性流体タンク82を構成する。そして、塗膜形成プレート83の上方から、塗膜形成プレート83上で塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1と、粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2とを含む所定領域Aを撮像するように基板認識カメラ43を構成する。これにより、塗膜形成プレート83に形成された粘性流体Lの塗膜Laが部品31に対して転写される構成において、粘性流体Lの残量を正確(定量的)かつ確実に測定することができる。
 また、第1実施形態では、粘性流体Lの種類に応じて、所定領域Aに照射する光の強度を変更可能に照明部43aを構成する。これにより、粘性流体Lの種類に応じた適切な照明によって所定領域Aを撮像することができるので、塊状となった粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分C1と粘性流体Lが存在しない部分C2とを容易に区別して認識可能なように撮像することができる。その結果、粘性流体Lの残量をより正確に測定することができる。
 [第2実施形態]
 以下、図10を参照して、本発明の第2実施形態による基板作業装置200の構成について説明する。
 この第2実施形態では、基板Pに部品31を実装する部品実装装置に本発明を適用した第1実施形態とは異なり、基板Pに対してはんだを印刷する印刷装置に本発明を適用した例について説明する。
 (基板作業装置の構成)
 第2実施形態による基板作業装置200は、図10に示すように、はんだからなる粘性流体Lを印刷(転写)材料とし、所定の印刷パターンで開口部(図示せず)が形成されたマスクMを用いて、基板Pの表面に粘性流体Lをスクリーン印刷する印刷装置である。なお、基板Pは、特許請求の範囲の「転写対象物」の一例である。
 基板作業装置200は、基台101と、スキージ部121を含むスキージユニット102と、基板テーブル103とを備えている。スキージユニット102および基板テーブル103は、基台101上に配置されている。スキージユニット102は、スキージ部121をY方向に移動させることにより印刷動作を行うように構成されている。
 また、基板作業装置200は、図10に示すように、粘性流体Lを撮像する粘性流体認識カメラ104と、基板作業装置200の全体を制御する制御部105とを備える。なお、粘性流体認識カメラ104は、特許請求の範囲の「撮像部」の一例である。
 マスクMは、平面視で矩形形状を有し、外周部がフレーム106に取り付けられている。基板作業装置200は、図示しないマスク保持部によりフレーム106を保持している。
 スキージユニット102は、マスクMの上方に配置されている。スキージユニット102は、スキージ部121と、スキージY軸駆動機構122と、スキージZ軸駆動機構123と、スキージR軸駆動機構124と、粘性流体供給部125とを含んでいる。
 スキージ部121は、ヘラ状形状を有し、Y方向に移動して粘性流体Lを掻き取るようにならすことによって、マスクM上の粘性流体Lを基板Pに転写(印刷)するように構成されている。この際、スキージ部121は、マスクMに上側(Z1方向側)から所定の印圧(荷重)をかけながら印刷方向(Y方向)に移動されることにより、粘性流体Lをローリング(回転)させながら転写(印刷)を行うように構成されている。
 スキージY軸駆動機構122は、Y軸モータ122aを含んでいる。スキージY軸駆動機構122は、Y軸モータ122aを駆動させることにより、スキージユニット102(スキージ部121)をY軸レールに沿ってY方向に移動させるように構成されている。スキージZ軸駆動機構123は、スキージR軸駆動機構124およびスキージ部121をZ方向に昇降させるように構成されている。スキージR軸駆動機構124は、スキージ部121を回動軸中心に回動させるように構成されている。粘性流体供給部125は、マスクMの上方に配置され、マスクMの上面上に粘性流体Lを供給する機能を有する。
 基板テーブル103は、マスクMの下方位置(Z2側位置)に配置されており、基台101上でY方向に往復移動可能に構成されている。基板テーブル103は、基板Pを所定の印刷位置に搬送して保持する動作や、印刷済みの基板Pを搬出する動作を行う。
 基板テーブル103は、一対のコンベア131と、クランプ部材(クランププレート)132と、Y軸移動機構133と、Z軸移動機構134と、図示しないX軸移動機構およびR軸移動機構とを含んでいる。
 一対のコンベア131は、上流側の装置から未印刷の基板Pを搬入し、基板Pを所定の印刷位置に搬送し、印刷済みの基板Pを下流側の装置へ搬出する機能を有している。一対のコンベア131は、Y方向に所定距離を隔てて互いに平行に配置されている。一対のコンベア131は、基板Pの搬送方向(X方向)に沿って延びるように設けられている。一対のコンベア131は、搬送する基板Pの幅(Y方向寸法)に対応させてY方向の間隔を調整可能に構成されている。
 クランプ部材132は、一対のコンベア131の上側に隣接するように一対設けられており、基板Pの側端面を両側から挟み込む(クランプする)ことにより固定(保持)するように構成されている。
 Y軸移動機構133は、Y軸モータ133aを含んでいる。Y軸移動機構133は、Y軸モータ133aを駆動させることにより、基板テーブル103をY軸レールに沿ってY方向に移動ささせるように構成されている。
 Z軸移動機構134は、Z軸テーブル134aを含んでいる。Z軸移動機構134は、図示しないZ軸モータを駆動させることにより、Z軸テーブル134aをZ方向に移動(昇降)させるように構成されている。Z軸テーブル134a上には、基板昇降部135および一対のブラケット部材103bが設けられ、ブラケット部材103bの各上部にはコンベア131およびクランプ部材132が設けられている。
 基板昇降部135は、一対のコンベア131の間のY方向位置に配置されており、支持板135aをZ方向に移動(昇降)させるように構成されている。支持板135aには図示しないバックアップピンが配置される。基板昇降部135は、バックアップピンにより基板Pを支持するように構成されている。
 なお、図示しないX軸移動機構は、基板PをX方向に移動させる機能を有し、同じく図示しないR軸移動機構は、基板Pを水平面内(XY面内)で回動させる機能を有する。これらのX軸移動機構、Y軸移動機構133およびR軸移動機構によってマスクMに対する基板Pの相対位置(水平面内の位置および傾き)が正確に位置決めされた状態で、Z軸移動機構134によって基板PがマスクMの下面に当接される。
 粘性流体認識カメラ104は、マスクMに対して相対的に移動可能に構成されている。なお、粘性流体認識カメラ104は、スキージユニット102の移動機構と共通の移動機構により、マスクMに対して相対的に移動してもよいし、専用の移動機構により、マスクMに対して相対的に移動してもよい。
 ここで、第2実施形態では、粘性流体認識カメラ104は、マスクM上の粘性流体Lの残量を測定するために、スキージユニット102のスキージ部121により掻き取られて、塊状となった粘性流体Lが存在する部分と、粘性流体Lが存在しない部分とを含む所定領域を撮像するように構成されている。この際、粘性流体認識カメラ104は、マスクMの情報から、マスク上で塊状となった粘性流体Lが存在する部分と、粘性流体Lが存在しない部分とを含む所定領域を撮像するように構成されている。
 この場合にも、上記第1実施形態と同様に、所定領域の撮像画像では、粘性流体Lが存在する部分では、粘性流体Lにより光が拡散反射されるため、比較的暗めの画像が得られる。一方、粘性流体Lが存在しない部分では、マスクMの上面により光が正反射されるため、比較的明るめの画像が得られる。これにより、撮像画像のうち粘性流体Lが存在する部分と、撮像画像のうち粘性流体Lが存在しない部分とを区別して認識することが可能である。
 そして、制御部105は、上記第1実施形態と同様に、粘性流体認識カメラ4により撮像された所定領域の撮像画像を取得するとともに、取得された所定領域の撮像画像に基づいて、粘性流体Lの残量を取得するように構成されている。すなわち、所定領域の撮像画像を二値化処理し、二値化処理された撮像画像から粘性流体Lが存在する部分の面積割合を取得し、取得された粘性流体Lが存在する部分の面積割合からマスクM上の粘性流体Lの残量を取得するように構成されている。
 また、制御部105は、取得された粘性流体Lの残量が、粘性流体Lを供給するか否かを判定するための所定のしきい値以下であるか否かを判断するとともに、粘性流体Lの残量が所定のしきい値以下であると判断される場合には、粘性流体供給部125からマスクMに対して粘性流体Lを所定量だけ供給する制御を行うように構成されている。
 なお、第2実施形態のその他の構成は、上記第1実施形態と同様である。
 第2実施形態では、以下のような効果を得ることができる。
 (第2実施形態の効果)
 第2実施形態では、上記のように、粘性流体認識カメラ104により撮像された所定領域の撮像画像のうち粘性流体Lが存在する部分の大きさ、および粘性流体Lが存在しない部分の大きさに基づいて、粘性流体Lの残量を取得する制御部105を設ける。これにより、上記第1実施形態と同様に、粘性流体Lの残量を正確(定量的)に測定することができるとともに、有色の粘性流体Lであっても、残量を容易に測定することができる。
 また、第2実施形態では、マスクM上を移動して粘性流体Lを掻き取りながらならし、印刷パターンを介してマスクM上の粘性流体Lを基板に転写するようにスキージ部121を構成する。そして、マスクMの上方から、マスクM上で塊状となった粘性流体Lが存在する部分と、粘性流体Lが存在しない部分とを含む所定領域を撮像するように粘性流体認識カメラ104を構成する。これにより、印刷パターンを介してはんだなどのマスクM上の粘性流体Lが基板Pに対して転写される構成において、はんだなどの粘性流体Lの残量を正確(定量的)かつ確実に測定することができる。
 なお、第2実施形態のその他の効果は、上記第1実施形態と同様である。
 [変形例]
 なお、今回開示された実施形態は、すべての点で例示であって制限的なものではないと考えられるべきである。本発明の範囲は、上記した実施形態の説明ではなく特許請求の範囲によって示され、さらに特許請求の範囲と均等の意味および範囲内でのすべての変更(変形例)が含まれる。
 たとえば、上記第1および第2実施形態では、粘性流体が存在する部分の大きさおよび粘性流体が存在しない部分の大きさとして、それぞれの面積を用いた例を示したが、本発明はこれに限られない。本発明では、粘性流体が存在する部分の大きさおよび粘性流体が存在しない部分の大きさとして、面積以外の大きさが用いられてもよい。たとえば、図4に示す撮像画像のうち幅方向(粘性流体Lが存在する部分が延びる方向)と直交する方向の長さが用いられてもよい。
 また、上記第1および第2実施形態では、粘性流体が存在する部分の大きさおよび粘性流体が存在しない部分の大きさの両方に基づいて、粘性流体の残量を取得した例を示したが、本発明はこれに限られない。本発明では、粘性流体が存在する部分の大きさおよび粘性流体が存在しない部分の大きさの少なくとも一方に基づいて、粘性流体の残量を取得してもよい。
 また、上記第1および第2実施形態では、所定領域の撮像画像を二値化処理して、粘性流体が存在する部分の大きさおよび粘性流体が存在しない部分の大きさを取得した例を示したが、本発明はこれに限られない。本発明では、所定領域の撮像画像を二値化処理することなく、粘性流体が存在する部分の大きさおよび粘性流体が存在しない部分の大きさを取得してもよい。
 また、上記第1実施形態では、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分の面積割合と粘性流体タンク82に貯留されている粘性流体Lの残量との間の相関情報に基づいて、粘性流体タンク82に貯留されている粘性流体Lの残量を取得した例を示したが、本発明はこれに限られない。本発明では、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分の面積割合、所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在する部分の面積、および所定領域Aのうち粘性流体L(Lb)が存在しない部分の面積の少なくともいずれか1つと粘性流体タンク82に貯留されている粘性流体Lの残量との間の相関情報を予め取得しておき、この相関情報に基づいて、粘性流体タンク82に貯留されている粘性流体Lの残量を取得してもよい。
 また、上記第1実施形態では、本発明の撮像部として、基板認識カメラ43を用いた例を示したが、本発明はこれに限られない。本発明では、本発明の撮像部を、基板認識カメラ43と別個に設けてもよい。
 また、上記第1実施形態では、本発明のスキージ部として、枠形状を有する粘性流体タンク82を用いた例を示したが、本発明はこれに限られない。本発明では、本発明のスキージ部として、枠形状以外の形状を有するスキージ部を用いてもよい。たとえば、上記第2実施形態のスキージ部121と同様にヘラ状形状を有するスキージ部を用いてもよい。
 また、上記第1実施形態では、粘性流体タンク82を固定し、塗膜形成プレート83を移動させることにより、粘性流体タンク82が塗膜形成プレート83に対して相対的に移動して粘性流体Lを掻き取りながらならした例を示したが、本発明はこれに限られない。本発明では、塗膜形成プレート83を固定し、粘性流体タンク82を移動させることにより、粘性流体タンク82が塗膜形成プレート83に対して相対的に移動して粘性流体Lを掻き取りながらならしてもよい。
 また、上記第1実施形態では、説明の便宜上、制御部の処理を処理フローに沿って順番に処理を行うフロー駆動型のフローを用いて説明したが、たとえば、制御部の処理動作を、イベント単位で処理を実行するイベント駆動型(イベントドリブン型)の処理により行ってもよい。この場合、完全なイベント駆動型で行ってもよいし、イベント駆動およびフロー駆動を組み合わせて行ってもよい。

Claims (11)

  1.  転写対象物に転写される粘性流体を掻き取りながらならすスキージ部と、
     前記スキージ部により掻き取られて、塊状となった前記粘性流体が存在する部分と前記粘性流体が存在しない部分とを含む所定領域を撮像する撮像部と、
     前記撮像部により撮像された前記所定領域の撮像画像のうち前記粘性流体が存在する部分の大きさ、または前記粘性流体が存在しない部分の大きさの少なくとも一方に基づいて、前記粘性流体の残量を取得する制御部と、を備える、基板作業装置。
  2.  前記制御部は、前記所定領域の撮像画像に基づいて、前記所定領域のうち前記粘性流体が存在する部分の面積または前記粘性流体が存在しない部分の面積の少なくとも一方を取得するととともに、取得された前記粘性流体が存在する部分の面積または前記粘性流体が存在しない部分の面積の少なくとも一方に基づいて、前記粘性流体の残量を取得するように構成されている、請求項1に記載の基板作業装置。
  3.  前記制御部は、前記所定領域の撮像画像を二値化処理することにより、前記所定領域の二値化画像を取得するとともに、取得された前記二値化画像に基づいて、前記所定領域のうち前記粘性流体が存在する部分の面積または前記粘性流体が存在しない部分の面積の少なくとも一方を取得するように構成されている、請求項2に記載の基板作業装置。
  4.  前記粘性流体を供給する粘性流体供給部をさらに備え、
     前記制御部は、取得された前記粘性流体の残量が所定のしきい値以下であると判断される場合には、前記粘性流体供給部から前記粘性流体を供給する制御を行うように構成されている、請求項1に記載の基板作業装置。
  5.  基板に対して部品を実装するとともに、前記スキージ部に対して相対的に移動可能な実装ヘッド、をさらに備え、
     前記撮像部は、前記実装ヘッドと共に前記スキージ部に対して相対的に移動するように構成されている、請求項1に記載の基板作業装置。
  6.  前記撮像部は、前記基板を認識するための基板認識マークを撮像する基板認識用撮像部を含む、請求項5に記載の基板作業装置。
  7.  前記スキージ部は、前記粘性流体を貯留可能な枠形状を有しており、
     前記撮像部は、前記粘性流体が貯留される前記枠形状を有する前記スキージ部の内部において塊状となった前記粘性流体が存在する部分と前記粘性流体が存在しない部分とを含む前記スキージ部の内部の所定領域を撮像するように構成されている、請求項1に記載の基板作業装置。
  8.  前記転写対象物は、基板に実装される部品を含み、
     前記部品に転写される前記粘性流体の塗膜が形成される塗膜形成プレートをさらに備え、
     前記スキージ部は、前記塗膜形成プレートに対して相対的に移動して粘性流体を掻き取りながらならし、前記塗膜形成プレート上に、前記部品に転写される前記粘性流体の塗膜を形成するように構成されており、
     前記撮像部は、前記塗膜形成プレートの上方から、前記塗膜形成プレート上で塊状となった前記粘性流体が存在する部分と、前記粘性流体が存在しない部分とを含む前記所定領域を撮像するように構成されている、請求項1に記載の基板作業装置。
  9.  前記転写対象物は、部品が実装される基板を含み、
     前記基板に前記粘性流体を印刷により転写するための印刷パターンを有するマスクをさらに備え、
     前記スキージ部は、前記マスク上を移動して粘性流体を掻き取りながらならし、前記印刷パターンを介して前記マスク上の前記粘性流体を前記基板に転写するように構成されており、
     前記撮像部は、前記マスクの上方から、前記マスク上で塊状となった前記粘性流体が存在する部分と、前記粘性流体が存在しない部分とを含む前記所定領域を撮像するように構成されている、請求項1に記載の基板作業装置。
  10.  前記所定領域に対して光を照射可能な照明部をさらに備え、
     前記照明部は、前記粘性流体の種類に応じて、前記所定領域に照射する光の強度、前記所定領域に照射する光の角度、および前記所定領域に照射する光の波長の少なくともいずれかを変更可能に構成されている、請求項1に記載の基板作業装置。
  11.  転写対象物に転写される粘性流体をスキージ部によって掻き取りながらならすステップと、
     前記スキージ部により掻き取られて、塊状となった前記粘性流体が存在する部分と、前記粘性流体が存在しない部分とを含む所定領域を撮像部により撮像するステップと、
     前記撮像部により撮像された前記所定領域の撮像画像のうち前記粘性流体が存在する部分の大きさ、または前記粘性流体が存在しない部分の大きさの少なくとも一方に基づいて、前記粘性流体の残量を制御部により取得するステップと、を備える、基板作業装置における粘性流体残量測定方法。
