Definitions
- the present invention relates to a drive control device for a vehicle wiper system, and more particularly to a wiper system control device that realizes operation control of a wiper blade and discharge control of window washer fluid in one control device.
- a wiper blade disposed on a wiping surface is operated by one or two electric motors.
- a driver mechanism side (DR side) and a passenger seat are operated by operating a link mechanism using one electric motor or performing synchronous control using two electric motors.
- Two wiper blades on the side (AS side) are operated.
- a wiper device is often attached to the rear window, and the rear wiper is also driven by an electric motor.
- many wiper systems are provided with a window washer device that discharges cleaning liquid onto the wiping surface in order to remove dust and mud on the wiping surface.
- the cleaning liquid (window washer liquid) is supplied to the washer nozzle by a pump driven by an electric motor, and is sprayed toward the wiping surface together with the wiping operation of the wiper blade.
- a control unit for controlling each electric motor is required individually, and there are problems in terms of the on-vehicle layout and the cost of the device.
- a relay for driving each device is mounted in the motor for the front wiper, and each motor is controlled by the relay operation to reduce individual control units.
- the control unit is affected by the temperature rise due to the heat generated by the motor, so that continuous operation at high temperatures is difficult.
- the size of the controller is increased, there is a problem in that it is not possible to perform very fine control by turning the relay on and off.
- the window washer device is required to discharge an optimal amount of washer liquid onto the glass surface from the viewpoint of stable wiping by forming a uniform water film and reducing the frequency of replenishment of the washer liquid.
- a system has been put on the market in which washer liquid is discharged from a wiper arm or wiper blade, the discharge direction is switched between the wiping forward path and the backward path, and water is always sprinkled in the traveling direction.
- a drive circuit for that purpose is required, and a control circuit dedicated to the washer is required.
- this control circuit is integrated with the motor, a large area for mounting the control element and a heat dissipation structure are required, which increases the motor size.

That is, the control unit becomes a very large-scale circuit having nine FETs, and as described above, the layout performance is inevitably deteriorated due to the increase in the motor size. In addition, a dedicated module containing nine FETs may become very expensive unless other needs can be expected for the module, and manufacturing it as a dedicated product is disadvantageous in terms of cost.
