Abstract
Description
無機系工業排水から、ニッケル、銅、あるいはフッ素などの除去を目的とした水浄化剤の研究もさかんである。
また、例えば、排水中の重金属イオンを、モロヘイヤなどの葉菜からなる陽イオン交換体に吸着させることにより、排水から分離除去する方法が提案されている(例えば、特許文献2参照)。
高速で安定した浄化処理を行ううえで、装置の自動化は重要な課題である。
一方で、装置の低コスト化の要求もある。
<1> 植物粉末の造粒物を有することを特徴とする水浄化剤である。
<2> 水浄化剤の安息角、圧縮度、及びスパチュラ角の3項目を測定することにより得られるCarrの流動性指数が、40以上である前記<1>に記載の水浄化剤である。
<3> 水浄化剤の安息角、圧縮度、及びスパチュラ角の3項目を測定することにより得られるCarrの流動性指数が、50以上である前記<1>から<2>のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤である。
<4> 更に、植物粉末を有する前記<1>から<3>のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤である。
<5> 植物粉末の造粒物の含有量が、植物粉末に対し質量比(造粒物/粉末)で、6/1以上である前記<4>に記載の水浄化剤である。
<6> 植物粉末の造粒物の含有量が、植物粉末に対し質量比(造粒物/粉末)で、8/1以上である前記<4>から<5>のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤である。
<7> 水浄化剤の圧縮度が、20%以下である前記<1>から<6>のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤である。
<8> 水浄化剤のスパチュラ角が、60°以下である前記<1>から<7>のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤である。
<9> 植物が、長朔黄麻である前記<1>から<8>のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤である。
<10> 植物粉末の造粒物が、乾燥植物を粉砕し、数平均粒径が450μm以下の植物粉末を得る植物粉末製造工程と、前記植物粉末に水分を加えて混練し、押出造粒により植物粉末の造粒物を得る植物粉末の造粒工程とを含む製造方法により製造される、前記<1>から<9>のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤である。
<11> 前記<1>から<10>のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤を水に溶かし、植物粉末の分散液を得、該分散液を排水に供することにより排水中の無機系不要物を除去することを特徴とする水浄化方法である。
本発明の水浄化剤は、植物粉末の造粒物を有する。
本発明で「水の浄化」とは、工業排水、特に無機系工業排水を対象とし、その排水中のニッケル、銅、フッ素などの不要物を除去することをいう。
前記水浄化剤を前記排水に加えると、排水中の不要物は前記水浄化剤により凝集分離される。係る凝集物を排水中から取り除くと、排水は浄化される。
前記植物としては、排水中の不要物(ニッケル、銅、フッ素など)を凝集分離することができる植物であれば、特に制限はなく、例えば、長朔黄麻(チョウサクコウマ)、モロヘイヤ、小松菜、三つ葉、水菜、ほうれん草などを挙げることができる。これらの中でも、以下に記載する実施例で良好な結果を示した、長朔黄麻(チョウサクコウマ)、モロヘイヤが好ましく使用でき、長朔黄麻(チョウサクコウマ)がより好ましく使用できる。
前記水浄化剤として、植物粉末の造粒物を用いると、自動化浄化装置における前記水浄化剤の継続的な安定供給が可能となる。
自動化システムにおいては、排水の浄化処理に使用する各種水浄化剤は、一度ホッパー(貯蔵タンク)に貯めておかれる。そして、その後、排水に供したい水浄化剤は、定量器で定量され、所定量の水浄化剤が、反応槽中の排水に供される。ここで、水浄化剤が固形であると、反応槽へ送られる前に一旦溶解槽で溶解され、その後反応槽へ送られるという手順を踏む。つまり、ホッパーにある固形の水浄化剤は、定量器で定量され、溶解槽に投入され、そこで所定量の水と撹拌溶解させられた後、係る分散液は反応槽に送られ、排水に供される。
低コスト化の観点から、現行の装置で、このシステムを適用させようとすると、植物粉末からなる水浄化剤も、高分子凝集剤などの他の水浄化剤と同じように、このシステムを適用させるのがよい。
ホッパー内のブリッジやラットホールを防止するため、粉末からなる水浄化剤の流動性を上げる目的で、粒子サイズを大きくするという対処法もあるが、粉砕した植物を分級し、粒子サイズの大きい部分だけを使用するのは、製品収率が悪く、コスト高である。またこの対策では、植物の粉末を使用した場合の上記問題に十分対処することができない。
そのある値とは、一般に粉末に要求されている流動性指数の基準値とは異なる、植物の粉末の特有の基準値となっており、その基準値を満足するのに、造粒物が好ましい態様であることがわかった。
前記水浄化剤の安息角、圧縮度、及びスパチュラ角の3項目を測定することにより得られるCarrの流動性指数は、40以上が好ましく、50以上がより好ましい。
ここで、安息角、圧縮度、及びスパチュラ角とは、Carrの流動性指数(R.L.Carr‘Evaluating Flow Properties of Solids’ Chemical Engineering January 18. 1965)の測定項目に挙げられている安息角、圧縮度、及びスパチュラ角をいう。
本発明では、ホソカワミクロン株式会社が、R.L.Carr及びMcGraw-Hill社の承認を得て、上記Chemical Engineering January 18.(1965)の166ページ及び167ページをもとに作成した、ホソカワミクロン株式会社が公表しているCarrの流動性指数表を使用する。
Carrの流動性指数の評価項目のうち、本発明に関係する安息角、圧縮度、及びスパチュラ角の3項目における流動性指数表を下記表1に示す。該表1をもとに、安息角、圧縮度、及びスパチュラ角のそれぞれの測定結果に対応した安息角の指数、圧縮度の指数、スパチュラ角の指数を求め、それらの値を合計すればよい。その合計値を、前記水浄化剤の流動性指数とする。尚、表1をもとに、測定結果に対応した指数を求める際、測定結果は四捨五入して分類する。例えば、安息角41.8は、41ではなく42に分類し、指数は16としてカウントする。また、例えば、安息角46.5は、46ではなく47に分類し、指数は12としてカウントする。圧縮度、スパチュラ角も同様に、四捨五入して該当する数値に分類し、対応する指数を求める。
植物からなる水浄化剤の前記流動性指数が、40以上50未満であると、ホッパーへの対策が一部必要ではあるが、溶解槽への継続的な供給は可能である。一旦、ブリッジ又はラットホールが発生してもホッパーに振動を与えるとブリッジ又はラットホールが崩れ、また継続して供給が行えるようになる。前記対策としては、例えば、発生したブリッジやラットホールを崩すための、振動部材などである。
植物からなる水浄化剤の前記流動性指数が、40未満であると、ブリッジ又はラットホールが発生し、ホッパーに振動を与えてもブリッジ又はラットホールは解消されず、安定した供給が行えない。
前記水浄化剤が、植物粉末の造粒物と植物粉末との混合物からなる場合、植物粉末の造粒物の含有量は、植物粉末に対し質量比(造粒物/粉末)で、6/1以上が好ましく、8/1以上がより好ましい。
ここで、圧縮度(%)とは、下記式(1)で表されるものをいう。
圧縮度(%)={(Da-Db)/Da}×100(1)
Da(固め見かけ比重):粉末及び/又は粒を一定容積の容器に入れて、高さ2cmから180回繰り返し落として振動を与えた後に計測される比重。
Db(ゆるみ見掛け比重):粉末及び/又は粒を一定容積の容器に静かに入れたとき計測される比重。
植物粉末の造粒物からなる本発明の水浄化剤は、前記流動性指数(2)が上述の好ましい値を示す。
安息角(°)は、パウダーテスターPT-N型(ホソカワミクロン社製)を用い、下記の注入法により測定することができる。
円形状の受け台にロートを介して、測定する試料を落下させ、山型に層を形成したときの斜面が水平面となす角を測定する。
圧縮度のDa(固め見かけ比重)、Db(ゆるみ見かけ比重)は、パウダーテスターPT-N型(ホソカワミクロン社製)を用い測定することができる。
100ccのステンレスカップの上部に専用のキャップを取り付け、150ccから200ccの試料を入れ、2cmの高さから180回繰り返し落として振動を与えた後の試料の比重を測定し、Daとする。
100ccのステンレスカップに100ccの試料を静かに入れ、その時の試料の比重を測定し、Dbとする。
DaとDb値を上記式(1)に代入する。
スパチュラ角(°)は、パウダーテスターPT-N型(ホソカワミクロン社製)を用い測定することができる。
試料を水平に置いた矩形のスパチュラが埋まるように堆積させ、スパチュラをゆっくり垂直方向に引き上げたときに形成する山の断面角度(A)と、そこに一定の衝撃を与えて粉体の山が崩れたあとに形成される山の断面角度(B)を測定し、それらの値から下記式(2)に代入し、スパチュラ角(°)を求める。
スパチュラ角(°)={(A+B)/2}(2)
前記水浄化剤は、乾燥植物を粉砕し、数平均粒径が450μm以下(好ましくは250μm以下)の植物粉末を得る植物粉末製造工程と、前記植物粉末に水分を加えて混練し、押出造粒により植物粉末の造粒物を得る植物粉末の造粒工程とを含む製造方法により製造される。
所望の流動性指数を示す造粒物を製造するには、造粒工程の前に、植物の粉末を製造しておくとよい。これにより、植物繊維の絡み合いを防止することができるからである。
植物の粉末を得るには、まず植物を天日乾燥により、水分量が14%以下(好ましくは5%以下)となるまで乾燥させるとよい。次に乾燥した植物を、例えば、アトマイザー(ハンマーミル、ダルトン社製)を用いて、数平均粒径が450μm以下になるように粉砕する。
ここで、数平均粒径は、例えば、Morphologi G3(マルバーン社製)を用いて測定することができる。
混練・造粒装置としては、特に制限はなく、市販の造粒装置を使用することができ、例えば、押出式の造粒機(ダルトン製ディスクペレッター)が挙げられる。
混練後、該混練物を造粒機により押出し造粒物を得る。該造粒物は、流動層乾燥機で水分が2%以下になるまで乾燥させる。
その後、パワーミルP3型解砕機(昭和化学機械工作所製)により、所定の長さとなるように切りそろえられる。こうして本発明の植物粉末の造粒物が得られる。
本発明の水浄化方法は、上述した本発明の水浄化剤を水に溶かし、植物粉末の分散液を得、該分散液を排水に供することにより排水中の無機系不要物を除去する方法である。
前記水浄化剤は、定量器で定量され、その後溶解槽に供給される。
そこで、所定量の水に溶解されて、得られた水浄化剤の分散液は、反応槽に送られ、排水に供される。反応槽において、排水中の不要物は、前記水浄化剤により凝集分離される。該凝集物を取り除くことにより、排水は浄化される。
実施例において、安息角、圧縮度、及びスパチュラ角は、次のようにして測定した。
パウダーテスターPT-N型(ホソカワミクロン社製)を用い、下記の注入法により、安息角(°)を測定した。
円形状の受け台にロートを介して、測定する試料を落下させ、山型に層を形成したときの斜面が水平面となす角を測定した。
パウダーテスターPT-N型(ホソカワミクロン社製)を用い、圧縮度のDa(固め見かけ比重)、Db(ゆるみ見かけ比重)を測定した。

パウダーテスターPT-N型(ホソカワミクロン社製)を用い、スパチュラ角(°)を測定した。
試料を水平に置いた矩形のスパチュラが埋まるように堆積させ、スパチュラをゆっくり垂直方向に引き上げたときに形成する山の断面角度(A)と、そこに一定の衝撃を与えて粉体の山が崩れたあとに形成される山の断面角度(B)を測定し、それらの値から下記式(2)に代入し、スパチュラ角(°)を求めた。
スパチュラ角(°)={(A+B)/2}(2)
中国産の長朔黄麻を天日乾燥により水分含有量が14%以下になるまで乾燥させた。
次に、その乾燥した植物をアトマイザー(ハンマーミル、ダルトン社製)で、数平均粒径が450μm以下になるまで粉砕し、植物粉末Aを得た。
三重県産のモロヘイヤを天日乾燥により水分含有量が14%以下になるまで乾燥させた。
次に、その乾燥した植物をアトマイザー(ハンマーミル、ダルトン社製)で、数平均粒径が450μm以下になるまで粉砕し、植物粉末Bを得た。
植物粉末Aに対し、水分割合が15質量%となるよう水を加えて混練し、該混練物を押出式の造粒機(ダルトン製ディスクペレッター)を用いて押出し造粒物を得た。造粒機のダイスサイズ(φ)を2mmとし、直径約2mmの造粒物を得た。この造粒物を、流動層乾燥機で、水分が2%以下まで乾燥した後、パワーミルP3型解砕機により長さ(L)を約20mmで切り落とし、造粒物1を得た。
造粒物1からなる水浄化剤に対し、下記に示す方法で供給安定性を評価した。結果を表3に示す。
角度60度のホッパーに、上記で得られた造粒物1を入れて、溶解槽へ自動供給しようとした際、下記の基準に従い、安定供給ができるかを評価した。
-評価基準-
A:ブリッジ、又はラットホールが発生せず、安定した供給が継続して行える
B:ブリッジ、又はラットホールが発生するものの、ホッパーに振動を与えることで、ブリッジ、又はラットホールがなくなり、供給が継続して行える
C:ブリッジ、又はラットホールが発生し、ホッパーに振動を与えても、ブリッジ、又はラットホールが解消されず、安定した供給が行えなくなる
実施例1において、造粒のダイス(φ)、長さ(L)を表2に示すようにした以外は、実施例1と同様にして水浄化剤を得た。
実施例1と同様にして、安息角、圧縮度、スパチュラ角、流動性指数、及び供給安定性を求めた。結果を表3に示す。
実施例1において、植物粉末Aに対し、水分割合を43質量%となるように水を加えて混練し、造粒のダイス(φ)、長さ(L)を表2に示すようにした以外は、実施例1と同様にして水浄化剤を得た。
実施例1と同様にして、安息角、圧縮度、スパチュラ角、流動性指数、及び供給安定性を求めた。結果を表3に示す。
実施例3の水浄化剤は、ホッパーに引っかかることなく一様に流れ落ち、自動化システムにおける安定供給が可能であった。ホッパー内部の様子を、ホッパー上部から見た写真を図1A及び図1Bに示す。図1Aで示す水浄化剤が、一様に流れ落ちている様子が図1Bに示されている。
実施例3の造粒物と植物粉末Aとを、表2に記載する割合で混合して水浄化剤を得た。
尚、表2において、造粒物:粉末=8:1と記載しているのは、植物粉末の造粒物が、植物粉末に対して、8:1の質量比(造粒物:粉末)で含有されていることを表す。
実施例1と同様にして、安息角、圧縮度、スパチュラ角、流動性指数、及び供給安定性を求めた。結果を表3に示す。
実施例6の水浄化剤は、水浄化剤の一部だけホッパーから流れ落ちたものの、その周りはホッパーに引っかかり穴上に残りラットホールが形成されたが、ホッパーを振動させたところ、水浄化剤は崩れ落ち、その後、継続して供給することができた。実施例6で振動を与える前にできたホッパー内部のラットホールの様子を、ホッパー上部から見た写真を図2に示す。
実施例1において、植物粉末Aを植物粉末Bに変え、造粒のダイス(φ)、長さ(L)を表2に示すようにした以外は、実施例1と同様にして水浄化剤を得た。
実施例1と同様にして、安息角、圧縮度、スパチュラ角、流動性指数、及び供給安定性を求めた。結果を表3に示す。
実施例3において、植物粉末Aを植物粉末Bに変え、造粒のダイス(φ)、長さ(L)を表2に示すようにした以外は、実施例3と同様にして水浄化剤を得た。
実施例1と同様にして、安息角、圧縮度、スパチュラ角、流動性指数、及び供給安定性を求めた。結果を表3に示す。
上記植物粉末Aからなる水浄化剤を用いた例を比較例1とした。
植物粉末Aについて上述した測定を行い、安息角、圧縮度、及びスパチュラ角を求め、上記表1の指標をもとに流動性指数を求め、実施例1と同様にして供給安定性を求めた。結果を表3に示す。
比較例1において、粉末の平均粒径を表2に記載するように変更した以外は、比較例1と同様にして水浄化剤を得た。
比較例1と同様にして、安息角、圧縮度、スパチュラ角、流動性指数、及び供給安定性を求めた。結果を表3に示す。
上記植物粉末Bからなる水浄化剤を用いた例を比較例5とした。
植物粉末Bについて、比較例1と同様にして、安息角、圧縮度、スパチュラ角、流動性指数、及び供給安定性を求めた。結果を表3に示す。
更に、実施例3の造粒物と比較例1の粉末を指定の比率で混合した実施例4~6の水浄化剤では、実施例4では、ブリッジは発生しなかった。一方、実施例5、6では、一旦ブリッジが発生したが、ホッパーに振動を与えることにより、ブリッジがなくなり、また継続して供給が行えるようになった。
しかし、比較例1~5の植物粉末の水浄化剤では、ブリッジが発生し、ホッパーに振動を与えてもブリッジが解消されず、安定した供給を継続して行うことはできなかった。
Claims (11)
- 植物粉末の造粒物を有することを特徴とする水浄化剤。
- 水浄化剤の安息角、圧縮度、及びスパチュラ角の3項目を測定することにより得られるCarrの流動性指数が、40以上である請求項1に記載の水浄化剤。
- 水浄化剤の安息角、圧縮度、及びスパチュラ角の3項目を測定することにより得られるCarrの流動性指数が、50以上である請求項1から2のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤。
- 更に、植物粉末を有する請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤。
- 植物粉末の造粒物の含有量が、植物粉末に対し質量比(造粒物/粉末)で、6/1以上である請求項4に記載の水浄化剤。
- 植物粉末の造粒物の含有量が、植物粉末に対し質量比(造粒物/粉末)で、8/1以上である請求項4から5のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤。
- 水浄化剤の圧縮度が、20%以下である請求項1から6のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤。
- 水浄化剤のスパチュラ角が、60°以下である請求項1から7のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤。
- 植物が、長朔黄麻である請求項1から8のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤。
- 植物粉末の造粒物が、乾燥植物を粉砕し、数平均粒径が450μm以下の植物粉末を得る植物粉末製造工程と、前記植物粉末に水分を加えて混練し、押出造粒により植物粉末の造粒物を得る植物粉末の造粒工程とを含む製造方法により製造される、請求項1から9のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤。
- 請求項1から10のいずれかに記載の水浄化剤を水に溶かし、植物粉末の分散液を得、該分散液を排水に供することにより排水中の無機系不要物を除去することを特徴とする水浄化方法。
