Image data of the program guide is generated.
- the time in the electronic program guide generating device 1 can be corrected to the time in the area where the electronic program guide generating device 1 is located, and as a result.
- a user who uses the electronic program guide screen can use an electronic program guide that does not include an erroneous time display, and can improve user convenience.
- FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing channel scan processing performed by the electronic program guide generation device 1 according to the first embodiment.
- step S101 the control unit 109 determines a broadcasting station to be selected, for example, a broadcasting station that is broadcasting on the physical channel with the smallest number among all physical channels, and A tuning request is issued.
- the channel selection request may be the physical channel with the largest number among all physical channels, but may be determined by other methods.
- step S102 the control unit 109 determines whether or not a predetermined time (a predetermined first reference time) has elapsed since the channel selection request was issued to the reception unit 101 in step S101. If the predetermined time has elapsed (YES in step S102), control unit 109 determines that the channel selection process for the broadcast station to be selected has failed, and advances the process to step S110. If the predetermined time has not elapsed (NO in step S102), control unit 109 advances the process to step S103.
- a predetermined time a predetermined first reference time
- step S103 the control unit 109 determines whether or not the receiving unit 101 has acquired a digital signal transmitted by the broadcasting station to be selected. If the digital signal has not been acquired (NO in step S103), the control unit 109 determines that the channel selection process is being performed by the reception unit 101, returns the process to step S102, and performs the digital signal acquisition process. continue. If the digital signal has been acquired (YES in step S103), control unit 109 advances the process to step S104.
- step S104 the control unit 109 determines whether or not a predetermined time (predetermined second reference time) has elapsed since the channel selection request was issued to the reception unit 101 in step S101. If the predetermined time has elapsed (YES in step S104), control unit 109 determines that the channel selection process for the station to be selected has failed, and advances the process to step S110. If the predetermined time has not elapsed (NO in step S104), control unit 109 advances the process to step S105.
- the fixed time (second reference time) may be the same time as the fixed time (first reference time) in step S102, or may be a different time.
- step S104 is not based on the elapsed time since the control unit 109 issued a channel selection request to the receiving unit 101 in step S101, but based on the elapsed time since the digital signal was received in step S103. It may be determined.
- step S105 the control unit 109 determines whether or not the demultiplexing unit 102 has extracted the program specifying information or the program arrangement information from the digital signal acquired by the receiving unit 101. If the program identification information or the program arrangement information has not been extracted (NO in step S105), the control unit 109 determines that the digital signal including the program identification information or the program arrangement information has not been transmitted yet. Then, the process returns to step S104, and the process of extracting program specifying information or program arrangement information is continued. If the program specifying information or the program arrangement information can be extracted (YES in step S105), the process proceeds to a parallel process in which steps S106 and S107 are performed in parallel in time (for example, the processes proceed simultaneously). .
- step S 106 the demultiplexing unit 102 acquires program information from the extracted program specifying information or program arrangement information, and provides this program information to the program information collecting and storing unit 103.
- the program information collection storage unit 103 stores the received program information in the storage area 103a.
- the program information acquired from the demultiplexing unit 102 may be stored as it is, but is included in the digital signal acquired by the receiving unit 101.
- program information since the program information of a program broadcasted by a plurality of broadcasting stations is divided into a plurality of time periods, for example, every three hours, some of the program information is sequentially transmitted.
- step S106 It may be discriminated whether it is scheduled to be broadcast at a station and stored in the rearranged shape, for example, in the form of the two-dimensional table shown in FIG. If program information is not included in the program identification information or program arrangement information extracted by the demultiplexing unit 102, no processing is performed in step S106, and the process proceeds to step S108, which is the next processing.
- step S107 the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 acquires the current time at the broadcast station that transmits the digital broadcast from the program identification information or the program arrangement information extracted by the demultiplexing unit 102.
- the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 performs time difference information collection processing for calculating the time difference information of the broadcast station based on the acquired current time.
- the parallel processing of step S106 and step S107 is also simply referred to as “information collection processing”. After executing the information collection process, the process proceeds to step S108.
- step S108 the control unit 109 determines whether or not the information collected by the information collection processing in steps S106 and S107 is sufficiently collected. If it is determined that the collected information is sufficiently collected (YES in step S108), the control unit 109 determines that the scanning process for the digital signal acquired by the receiving unit 101 in step S103 is completed. Then, the process proceeds to step S110. If it is determined that the collected information is not collected sufficiently (NO in step S108), control unit 109 advances the process to step S109. Whether or not the information is sufficiently collected can be determined, for example, by repeating the process of step S106 so that all the electronic program guide information for a predetermined period can be collected and broadcast by executing step S107.
- Judgment is made based on whether or not the time difference information of the stations can be collected. However, for error checking, this determination is made a plurality of predetermined times instead of once, and the electronic program guide information for a predetermined period can be collected by repeating the process of step S106, and When it is determined that the time difference information of the broadcasting station can be collected by executing step S107 a predetermined number of times, the determination in step S108 may be YES.
- step S109 the control unit 109 determines whether or not a certain time (predetermined third reference time) has elapsed since the channel selection request was issued to the reception unit 101 in step S101. to decide. If the predetermined time has elapsed (YES in step S109), control unit 109 determines that the information collection process in the selected broadcast station has not been completed, and advances the process to step S110. When the predetermined time has not elapsed (NO in step S109), control unit 109 returns the process to step S104 in order to repeat the information collection process in the broadcasting station to be selected.
- the fixed time (third reference time) may be the same as the fixed time (first reference time) in step S102, similarly to the fixed time (second reference time) in step S104.
- the predetermined time (third reference period) is not determined by the time after the control unit 109 issues a channel selection request to the reception unit 101 in step S101, but the digital signal can be received in step S103. You may make it determine by the time from time. Note that the processing from step S104 to step S109 is also referred to as “scan processing”.
- step S110 the control unit 109 determines whether or not the scan processing has been performed on all channel selection targets, for example, all channel selection target physical channels.
- all channel selection targets for example, all channel selection target physical channels.
- the control unit 109 determines that the channel scan process has been completed and ends the process.
- the control unit 109 returns the process to step S101 and starts the scan process for the next physical channel to be selected.
- the next channel selection target may be a physical channel having a physical channel number increased by one, or a physical channel having a number decreased by one, or any other method. You may decide by.
- the physical channels to be selected are narrowed down from all physical channels, for example, only physical channels that have been previously selected, or, for example, designated in advance by the user through the operation input unit 110 Only physical channels may be used.
- step S102, step S104, and step S109 in checking whether or not a certain time has elapsed, if this certain time is lengthened, the time until the channel scan process ends, that is, the electronic program guide for all services is displayed.
- this certain time is lengthened, the time until the channel scan process ends, that is, the electronic program guide for all services is displayed.
- the time required for display becomes longer, a large amount of program information existing in the broadcasting station once selected can be accumulated, and more programs can be displayed on the electronic program guide.
- this fixed time is shortened, the time until the end of the channel scanning process, that is, the time required to display the electronic program guide of all broadcasting stations is shortened.
- step S102, step S104, and step S109 whether or not a predetermined time has passed is checked by checking the broadcasting station selected at that time if sufficient information cannot be collected for some reason.
- This is a process provided for interrupting the process so that the scan process of another broadcast station can be started. For this reason, these processes do not necessarily need to be processes using time information.
- the process may be interrupted when the number of repetitions of the scan process or the information collection process exceeds a certain number. Other indices may be used.
- FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing processing (step S107 in FIG. 4) performed by the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 of the electronic program guide generation device 1 according to the first embodiment.
- step S201 the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 confirms whether or not the current time (second current time) t ⁇ at the broadcast station can be acquired from the time information given from the demultiplex unit 102. To do. If the current time t alpha in a broadcast station can not be acquired (NO in step S201), the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 ends the time difference information acquisition processing. If the current time t alpha can be obtained in a broadcast station (YES in step S201), the process proceeds to step S202. Incidentally, if the current time t alpha in a broadcast station can not be acquired (NO in step S201) it may be the processing of step S201 to repeat a certain time or a certain number of times.
- step S ⁇ b> 202 the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 checks whether or not the current time (current time in the device) t now in the electronic program guide generation device 1 can be acquired from the time measuring unit 105. When the current time (first current time) tnow in the electronic program guide generation device 1 cannot be acquired (NO in step S202), the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 determines NO in step S201. Similarly, the time difference information collection process is terminated. If the current time t now in electronic program guide generating apparatus 1 can be acquired (YES in step S202), the process proceeds to step S203. If the current time t now cannot be obtained in the electronic program guide generation device 1 (NO in step S202), the process of step S202 may be repeated for a certain time or a certain number of times.
- step S203 the broadcasting station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 performs a process to unify the time representation of the current time t now at the current time t alpha and electronic program guide producing apparatus 1 in the broadcast station, the process proceeds to step S204 .
- the process of unifying time notation is a process of unifying the local time notation in each country or region into a time notation using the time axis of any one country or region. For example, the current time t at a broadcasting station If ⁇ is the local time in the region ⁇ and the current time t now in the electronic program guide generator 1 is the local time in the region ⁇ , the current time t ⁇ in the broadcasting station is set to the local time in the region ⁇ .
- the process for unifying the time notation may be a process for unifying the local time in each country or region into a time notation using a time axis common to the world.
- the current time t ⁇ at the broadcasting station and the electronic program Processing that converts both the current time tnow in the table generation device 1 to time expressed in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) may be used, or processing that is unified by other methods may be used.
- UTC Coordinatd Universal Time
- step S204 the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 is a time value that is a difference value between the current time t ⁇ 1 in the broadcast station in which the time notation is unified in step S203 and the current time t now1 in the electronic program guide generation device 1.
- the difference t sub is obtained using either of the following formula 1 or formula 2, and the process proceeds to step S205.
- t sub t ⁇ 1 ⁇ t now1 (Formula 1)
- t sub t now1 ⁇ t ⁇ 1 (Formula 2)
- step S205 the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 determines whether or not there is a time difference t sub between the current time t ⁇ 1 at the broadcast station and the current time t now1 at the electronic program guide generation device 1. . In this determination, the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 sets a predetermined value, for example, 1 minute as a threshold value, and sets the time when the absolute value of the time difference calculated in step S204 exceeds this threshold value. It is determined that there is a difference. If it is determined in step S205 that there is a time difference (YES in step S205), the process proceeds to step S206. If it is determined in step S205 that there is no time difference (NO in step S205), the process proceeds to step S206. The process proceeds to S207.
- a predetermined value for example, 1 minute as a threshold value
- step S206 the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 uses the time difference value calculated in step S204 as an error in time information between the electronic program guide generation device 1 and the service B broadcast station.
- the information is stored in the storage area 104a in association with the specific information, and the time error detection process is terminated.
- step S207 the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 saves the time information between the electronic program guide generation device 1 and the broadcast station of the service B in the storage area 104a as having no error, and performs time error detection processing. Terminate.
- the storage area 104a in which the time difference value is written in steps S206 and S207 may be another storage area.
- FIG. 6 is a flowchart showing processing performed by the program information correction unit 106 of the electronic program guide generation device 1 according to the first embodiment.
- step S301 the program information correction unit 106 determines whether or not the time difference between the current time in the electronic program guide generation device 1 and the current time in the broadcast station by the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 has been calculated. Check. This confirmation can be performed by referring to the storage area in which the time difference is stored in step S206 or step S207 in FIG. 5 depending on whether the time difference is stored. In addition, this confirmation may be made by preparing a separate storage area indicating the determination result as to whether there is a time difference and checking whether information indicating that there is a time difference has been read. If it is determined in step S301 that the time difference has not been calculated (NO in step S301), the process proceeds to step S305. If it is determined that the time difference has been calculated (YES in step S301), the process proceeds to step S302.
- step S302 the program information correction unit 106 displays the broadcast start time t start or the broadcast end time t end included in the program information acquired from the program information collection storage unit 103 and the stored time difference t.
- the notation of sub is unified, and the process proceeds to step S303.
- the process in step S302 is the same as the process in step S203 in FIG. Note that the time and the value of the time difference stored in step S302 of FIG. 6 are also expressed in UTC, for example.
- step S303 the program information correction unit 106 corrects the time by reflecting the time difference t sub with respect to the broadcast start time t start or the broadcast end time t end included in the program information, and the process is performed in step S304.
- the corrected broadcast start time t start1 that reflects the time difference or the broadcast end time t end1 that reflects the time difference is expressed using Equations 3 and 4 when using Equation 1 in step S204 of FIG.
- Expression 2 is used in step S204 of 5
- calculation can be performed using Expression 5 and Expression 6.
- step S304 the program information correction unit 106 performs a conversion process for returning the time information converted in step S302 to the original time notation of the program information, and completes the correction process for the time display in the program information. For example, when the local time notation is converted to UTC notation in step S302, the program information correction unit 106 performs reverse conversion processing so that the UTC notation is changed to the local time notation.
- step S305 the program information correction unit 106 completes the process without converting the program information acquired from the program information collection storage unit 103, but the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 sets the time. After setting a flag indicating that the difference calculation has not been completed, the correction processing for the time display in the program information is completed.
- FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing processing performed by the electronic program guide generation unit 107 according to the first embodiment.
- step S401 the electronic program guide generation unit 107 determines whether or not processing has been performed on all broadcast stations to be displayed as the electronic program guide (that is, broadcast stations to be displayed). If it is determined that the operation has been performed for all broadcasting stations to be displayed as the electronic program guide (YES in step S401), the electronic program guide generation unit 107 ends the electronic program guide generation process. If it is determined that it is not implemented for all broadcast stations to be displayed as an electronic program guide (NO in step S401), the process proceeds to step S402.
- step S402 the electronic program guide generation unit 107 acquires program information about the broadcast station to be displayed from the program information correction unit 106, and the process proceeds to step S403.
- the program information acquired here is time-corrected program information after performing the correction processing of the time display in the program information described with reference to FIG.
- step S403 the electronic program guide generation unit 107 determines whether or not the time difference information of the selected broadcast station has been calculated for the time-corrected program information acquired in step S402. This determination can be made by referring to the flag set in step S305 in FIG. If it is determined that the time difference information can be calculated (YES in step S403), the process proceeds to step S404. If it is determined that the time difference information cannot be calculated (NO in step S403), the process proceeds to step S405.
- step S404 the electronic program guide generation unit 107 selects program information in a time zone to be displayed from the acquired time-corrected program information, and causes the display unit 108 to display the electronic program guide based on the program information.
- the process returns to step S401. Thereafter, the electronic program guide generation unit 107 performs processing for generating an electronic program guide related to other broadcasting stations.
- step S405 as in step S404, the electronic program guide generation unit 107 selects program information in a time zone to be displayed from the acquired time-corrected program information, and generates an electronic program guide based on the program information.
- the information is displayed on the display unit 108, and the process proceeds to step S406.
- step S406 the electronic program guide generation unit 107 performs processing for performing highlighting to indicate that the time difference information has not been calculated, returns the processing to step S401, and performs electronic program guides related to other broadcasting stations.
- the generation process is performed.
- This highlighting is, for example, a method of changing the display color of the broadcast station to be emphasized to a color different from the display color of other broadcast stations, a method of making the display of the broadcast station to be emphasized shaded, There is a method of displaying an icon indicating that the time difference information is not calculated in the display of the broadcast station.
- the electronic program guide generation unit 107 does not display the electronic program guide related to the station to be selected because the time information of the program information of the broadcasting station whose time difference information has not been calculated is uncertain. May be.
- step S406 the program information is not transferred from the program information correction unit 106 to the electronic program guide generation unit 107 so as not to display the electronic program guide of the broadcasting station whose time difference information is not calculated. It may be realized by. In this case, in step S305 in FIG. 6, it is necessary not to set the time difference non-calculation flag but to change the process so as to ignore the program information of the station to be selected.
- the channel scan processing described above and the correction processing of the time display in the program information based on the calculated time difference will be described more specifically using the example of FIG.
- the channel selection process is performed for the four channels of service A, service B, service C, and service D shown in FIG. 2, and the electronic program guide timed by the time measuring unit 105.
- the description will be made assuming that the current time in the generation apparatus 1 is “12:35” (12:35).
- a case will be described in which all conditions are determined to be NO for all broadcasting stations, assuming that processing is completed before a predetermined time has passed in steps S102, S104, and S109 in FIG. .
- each broadcast station transmits program information collectively every two hours.
- the current time in the electronic program guide generation device 1 that is timed by the time measuring unit 105 and each time shown in FIG. 2 are time differences determined in advance for each country or region, that is, UTC.
- the time difference of +1 is assumed to be +1 hour.
- step S108 in FIG. 4 it is determined that necessary information has been collected when the time difference information of each broadcasting station and the program information broadcast in the period from the current time to 4 hours later can be acquired.
- step S203 in FIG. 5 in order to convert the time information of the electronic program guide generating device and each broadcasting station into a time axis notation common to the whole world, both times are unified to UTC notation.

- step S101 in FIG. 4 the control unit 109 first determines the service A as a target to be selected, and the receiving unit 101 selects the service A. After that, the control unit 109 determines in step S103 that the digital signal can be received by the receiving unit 101, and the demultiplexing unit 102 determines in step S105 that the program specifying information or the program arrangement information can be extracted. To do.
- the program information collection and storage unit 103 is a program that is broadcasted for two hours from time “12:00” to time “14:00” in the program information broadcasted by the service A. Program information of a certain program A1 and program A2 can be collected, and the collected information is stored.

- the broadcast station time difference information calculation storage unit 104 stores the time difference 0:00 (0 minutes) in step S207 and completes the time difference information collection process.
- step S108 Since the time difference information of service A has already been acquired, but the program information has only been collected for two hours, the condition determination is determined to be NO. After going through S109, S104, and S105, the process returns to the information collection process in steps S106 and S107 again.
- programs A3 and A4 are programs that are broadcast for two hours from time “14:00” to time “16:00”, which is the next time zone of the program information broadcast by service A. While the information can be collected and the program information collection storage unit 103 stores the information, the time difference is calculated again in the time difference collection process in step S107, and the time difference 0:00 (0 minutes) is saved.
