Abstract
Description
例えば、共重合ポリエステル樹脂は、各種基材にコーティングされた場合、基材との接着性に優れた樹脂層が得られる。さらに、この基材上の樹脂層は、他の基材に対する接着性にも優れている。上記基材として、一般に、ポリエステル樹脂、ポリカーボネート樹脂またはポリ塩化ビニル樹脂などからなるフィルムやシート、あるいはアルミニウムまたは銅などの金属箔などが用いられている。
このような優れた接着性を活かして、共重合ポリエステル樹脂は、接着剤、コーティング剤、インキバインダーあるいは塗料などの用途において広く使用されている。例えば、共重合ポリエステル樹脂を用いた接着剤は、家電製品用や自動車用の配線材として広く利用されるフレキシブルフラットケーブルや光学パネルの接着剤等に広く用いられている。
また、ポリエステル樹脂の構成成分として、特定のグリコール成分やジカルボン酸成分含有させて結晶性を高めることにより、耐熱性を向上させることが検討されている(例えば、特許文献2、3)。
本発明は、ポリエステル樹脂が本来有する接着性を損なうことなく、耐熱性を向上させたポリエステル樹脂組成物を提供することを目的とする。
すなわち本発明の要旨は、下記の通りである。
(1)ポリエステル樹脂(A)と、テルペン系樹脂(Q)および/またはロジン系樹脂(R)からなる樹脂(B)とを含有するポリエステル樹脂組成物であって、
前記ポリエステル樹脂(A)のガラス転移温度が-40~70℃であり、
前記樹脂(B)の軟化点が80~145℃であり、
ポリエステル樹脂(A)と樹脂(B)との質量比(A/B)が50/50~95/5であることを特徴とするポリエステル樹脂組成物。
(2)ポリエステル樹脂(A)を構成する多価カルボン酸成分における、主鎖の炭素数が6以上である多価カルボン酸の含有量が3~45モル%であることを特徴とする(1)記載のポリエステル樹脂組成物。
(3)ポリエステル樹脂(A)を構成するグリコール成分における、主鎖の炭素数が6以上であるグリコールの含有量が3~45モル%であることを特徴とする(1)または(2)記載のポリエステル樹脂組成物。
(4)さらに硬化剤(C)を含有することを特徴とする(1)~(3)のいずれかに記載のポリエステル樹脂組成物。
(5)上記(1)~(4)のいずれかに記載のポリエステル樹脂組成物と有機溶剤とを含有することを特徴とする接着剤。
(6)上記(1)~(4)のいずれかに記載のポリエステル樹脂組成物にて形成されてなる樹脂層。
(7)上記(6)記載の樹脂層を含有する積層体。
(8)上記(7)の積層体を用いてなるフレキシブルフラットケーブル。
本発明のポリエステル樹脂組成物は、ポリエステル樹脂(A)と樹脂(B)とを含有するものであり、前記ポリエステル樹脂(A)はガラス転移温度が-40~70℃であり、前記樹脂(B)は、テルペン系樹脂(Q)および/またはロジン系樹脂(R)からなり、軟化点が80~145℃であり、質量比(A/B)が50/50~95/5である。
テレフタル酸、イソフタル酸を混合して用いる場合、多価カルボン酸成分におけるテレフタル酸の含有量は、30~80モル%であることが好ましく、35~75モル%であることがより好ましく、40~70モル%であることがさらに好ましい。テレフタル酸の含有量が30モル%未満では、ポリエステル樹脂(A)は、耐熱性、基材への接着性がともに劣るものとなり、80モル%を超えると、ポリエステル樹脂(A)は溶剤溶解性が劣ることがある。
一方、イソフタル酸の含有量は、20~70モル%であることが好ましく、30~60モル%であることがより好ましく、40~50モル%であることがさらに好ましい。イソフタル酸の含有量が20モル%未満では、ポリエステル樹脂(A)は溶剤溶解性に劣るものとなり、70モル%を超えると、ポリエステル樹脂(A)は、耐熱性、靱性が劣るものとなることがある。
主鎖の炭素数が6以上である多価カルボン酸としては、特に制限はされないが、例えば、アジピン酸(ADA)、ピメリン酸、スベリン酸、アゼライン酸(AZA)、セバシン酸(SEA)、ウンデカン二酸、ドデカン二酸、トリデカン二酸、テトラデカン二酸、ペンタデカン二酸、ヘキサデカン二酸、ヘプタデカン二酸、オクタデカン二酸、ノナデカン二酸、エイコサン二酸、ドコサン二酸などが挙げられる。なかでも、基材への接着性向上効果が高い点で、アジピン酸(ADA)、アゼライン酸(AZA)またはセバシン酸(SEA)が好ましい。
ポリエステル樹脂(A)を構成する多価カルボン酸成分における、主鎖の炭素数が6以上である多価カルボン酸の含有量は、3~45モル%であることが好ましく、5~40モル%であることがより好ましい。
エチレングリコールを含有する場合、その含有量は、グリコール成分の30~70モル%であることが好ましく、35~65モル%であることがより好ましく、40~60モル%であることがさらに好ましい。
側鎖を持った脂肪族グリコールとしては、ネオペンチルグリコール、2-メチル-1,3-プロパンジオール、3-メチル-1,5-ペンタンジオール、2,2-ブチルエチルプロパンジオール等が挙げられ、溶剤溶解性の観点から、特にネオペンチルグリコール、2-メチル-1,3-プロパンジオールが好ましい。側鎖を持った脂肪族グリコールを含有する場合、その含有量はグリコール成分の30~60モル%であることが好ましく、35~55モル%であることがより好ましく、40~50モル%であることがさらに好ましい。側鎖を持った脂肪族グリコールの含有量が30モル%未満では、溶剤溶解性に劣ることがあり、含有量が60モル%を超えると、耐熱性に劣ることがある。
主鎖の炭素数が6以上であるグリコールとしては、特に制限はされないが、例えば、1,6-ヘキサンジオール、1,7-ヘプタンジオール、1,8-オクタンジオール、1,9-ノナンジオール、1,10-デカンジオール、1,12-ドデカンジオール、ポリエチレングリコール、ポリテトラメチレングリコールなどが挙げられる。なかでも、接着性向上の効果が高い点で、1,6-ヘキサンジオールまたはポリテトラエチレングリコールが好ましい。
ポリエステル樹脂(A)を構成するグリコール成分における、主鎖の炭素数が6以上であるグリコールの含有量は、3~45モル%であることが好ましく、4~40モル%であることがより好ましい。
硬化剤(C)としては公知のものを挙げることができ、ポリエステル樹脂(A)が有する官能基、またはポリエステル樹脂(A)が反応して形成される官能基(例えば、カルボキシル基やその無水物、水酸基、エポキシ基、イソシアネート基など)との反応性を有する化合物であれば、特に限定されるものではない。
イソシアネート化合物としては、4,4′-ジフェニルメタンジイソシアネート(MDI)、トリレンジイソシアネート(TDI)、キシリレンジイソシアネート等の芳香族ジイソシアネート、ヘキサメチレンジイソシアネート(HDI)、イソホロンジイソシアネート(IPDI)、ジシクロヘキシルメタンジイソシアネート等の脂肪族ジイソシアネート単量体およびそれらの三量体が挙げられる。なかでも、硬化反応速度が速い点で、芳香族ジイソシアネートが好ましく、MDIが特に好ましい。
また、耐溶剤性、加工性に優れる樹脂層形成が可能なことから、硬化剤としてアミノ樹脂も好ましく用いることができる。
まず、多価カルボン酸およびグリコールなどのモノマーの組み合わせを適宜選択し、これらを公知の重合法で重合して、ポリエステル樹脂(A)を得ることができる。つまり、原料モノマーを反応缶に投入した後、エステル化反応をおこなった後、公知の方法で所望の分子量に達するまで重縮合させることにより、ポリエステル樹脂(A)を製造することができる。
エステル化反応は、例えば、180℃以上の温度において4時間以上おこなわれる。
重縮合反応は、一般的には、130Pa以下の減圧下、220~280℃の温度下で、重合触媒を用いておこなわれる。重合触媒は、テトラブチルチタネ-トなどのチタン化合物、酢酸亜鉛、酢酸マグネシウム、酢酸亜鉛などの金属の酢酸塩、三酸化アンチモン、ヒドロキシブチルスズオキサイド、オクチル酸スズなどの有機スズ化合物などが挙げられる。なお、重合触媒の使用量は、少量では反応が遅く、過多では得られるポリエステル樹脂(A)の色調が低下するため、酸成分1モルに対し、0.1×10-4~20×10-4モルであることが好ましい。
接着剤を構成する有機溶剤としては、特に限定はされず、例えば、トルエン、キシレン、ソルベントナフサ、ソルベッソなどの芳香族系溶剤;メチルエチルケトン、メチルイソブチルケトン、シクロヘキサノンなどのケトン系溶剤;メチルアルコール、エチルアルコール、イソプロピルアルコール、イソブチルアルコールなどのアルコール系溶剤;酢酸エチル、酢酸ノルマルブチルなどのエステル系溶剤;セロソルブアセテート、メトキシアセテートなどのアセテート系溶剤などが挙げられる。これらの溶剤は単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を用いてもよい。
基材としては、特に限定されるものではないが、ポリエステル樹脂、ポリカーボネート樹脂またはポリ塩化ビニル樹脂などの樹脂からなるフィルムやシート;あるいは、アルミニウム箔または銅箔などの金属箔などが挙げられる。このように基材に対し樹脂層を形成することで積層体とすることができる。
本発明の接着剤を基材に塗布する方法としては、特に限定されるものではなく、リバースロールコート法、グラビアコート法、ダイコート法、コンマコート法またはスプレーコート法などの公知の方法を用いることができる。
本発明の樹脂層の厚みは、用いる用途によって異なるが、3~50μmであることが好ましく、5~40μmであることがより好ましく、7~30μmであることがさらに好ましい。樹脂層は、厚みが3μm未満であると、必要とする接着性が得られないことがある。一方、厚みが50μmを超えると、経済的でないばかりか、接着性が低下することがある。
(1)ポリエステル樹脂の組成
NMR測定装置(日本電子社製JNM-LA400型)を用い、1H-NMR測定を行って、それぞれの共重合成分の組成を求めた。なお、測定溶媒としては、重水素化トリフルオロ酢酸を用いた。
ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)を用いて以下の条件でポリスチレン換算の数平均分子量を測定した。

JIS-K 7121に従って、入力補償型示差走査熱量測定装置(パーキンエルマー社製ダイヤモンドDSC型)を用い、-60℃から120℃まで、昇温速度10℃/分の条件で測定をおこない、得られた昇温曲線中の、低温側ベースラインを高温側に延長した直線と、ガラス転移の階段状変化部分の曲線の勾配が最大となるような点で引いた接線との交点の温度を求め、ガラス転移温度とした。
ポリエステル樹脂組成物に、トルエン8質量部とメチルエチルケトン2質量部とからなる混合溶剤を、固形分濃度が30質量%となるように加えて、溶液を調製し、ポリエステル樹脂組成物の溶解性および溶液の外観を目視で判断した。
○:均一で透明であった。
△:白濁するも均一であった。
×:層分離または不溶であり、不均一であった。
実施例1~36、比較例1~7で得られた樹脂組成物を温度150℃で溶融し、ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルム(厚さ50μm)に厚みが20μmになるように押し出して樹脂層を形成し積層体を作製した。
また実施例37~38で得られた接着剤を、ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルム(厚さ50μm)に塗布し、120℃で60秒間熱処理することで、乾燥時の厚みが20μmである樹脂層を形成して、積層体を作製した。
ポリエステル樹脂組成物の溶融粘度、接着剤の溶液粘度、樹脂層の厚み精度とから、樹脂組成物の取扱性を評価した。
○:溶融粘度または溶液粘度が高過ぎず、取扱性が良好であった。
△:樹脂層の厚みの制御はできたが、溶融粘度または溶液粘度が高く、取扱性が低かった。
×:溶融粘度または溶液粘度が高く、樹脂層の厚みを精度よく制御できなかった。
前記(5)で作製した積層体を2枚用い、樹脂層形成面どうしを重ね合わせ、エアー式プレス機(林機械製作所社製)を用いて、温度180℃、圧力0.2MPa/cm2の条件下、60秒間熱圧着して、熱圧着フィルムを得た。
得られた熱圧着フィルムを、短冊状(長さ100×巾15mm)に切り出し、試験片とした。この試験片について、引張試験機(インテスコ社製精密万能材料試験機2020型)を用い、引張速度50mm/分、引張角度180度の条件で、剥離強度を測定した。測定は5回おこない、その平均値を剥離強度として、下記の基準で接着性を評価した。
◎:剥離強度が15N/15mm以上である。
○:剥離強度が10N/15mm以上、15N/15mm未満である。
△:剥離強度が5N/15mm以上、10N/15mm未満である。
×:剥離強度が5N/15mm未満である。
また、剥離界面を目視で観察し、剥離界面が樹脂層/フィルム間であるものを「Ad/F」、樹脂層凝集破壊であるものを「Ad凝集」、フィルム切れであるものを「F切れ」と表記した。
前記(5)で作製した積層体の樹脂層形成面と、銅板(縦150×横100×厚さ0.3mm)とを重ね合わせ、エアー式プレス機(林機械製作所社製)を用い、温度180℃、圧力0.2MPa/cm2の条件下、60秒間熱圧着して、熱圧着板を得た。
得られた熱圧着板を、短冊状(長さ100×巾15mm)に切り出し、試験片とした。この試験片について、引張試験機(インテスコ社製精密万能材料試験機2020型)を用い、引張速度50mm/分、引張角度180度の条件で、剥離強度を測定した。
測定は5回おこない、その平均値を剥離強度として、下記の基準で接着性を評価した。◎:剥離強度が15N/15mm以上である。
○:剥離強度が10N/15mm以上、15N/15mm未満である。
△:剥離強度が5N/15mm以上、10N/15mm未満である。
×:剥離強度が5N/15mm未満である。
また、剥離界面を目視で観察し、剥離界面が樹脂層/銅板間であるものを「Ad/Cu」、樹脂層凝集破壊であるものを「Ad凝集」と表記した。
(i)樹脂層の剥がれ
前記(5)で作製した積層体を2枚用い、それぞれの樹脂層形成面で、間隔が1mmとなるよう平行に配置した2本の錫メッキ銅線(巾0.6mm、厚さ30μm)を挟み込んで、エアー式プレス機(林機械製作所社製)を用い、温度180℃、圧力0.2MPa/cm2の条件下、60秒間熱圧着し、フレキシブルフラットケーブル(長さ100×巾15mm、厚さ約0.1mm)を得た。
得られたフレキシブルフラットケーブルを、0.1MPa/cm2の荷重がかかるようにクランプし、温度が85℃に設定されたオーブン中で240時間熱処理した。室温まで十分に冷却したフレキシブルフラットケーブルを目視で観察し、下記の基準で樹脂層の剥がれを評価した。
◎:積層体の剥がれが見られなかった。
○:積層体全面積の5%未満で剥がれが確認された。
△:積層体全面積の5~10%の範囲で剥がれが確認された。
×:積層体全面積の10%を超える範囲で剥がれが確認された。
前記(8)-(i)での評価において、2枚の積層体に挟み込まれた樹脂層から、樹脂が融けて流れ出したか否かを目視で観察し判断した。
〇:樹脂の流れ出しが全くない。
△:樹脂の流れ出しがあるが、その量は樹脂全体量の10%未満である。
×:樹脂の流れ出しがあり、その量は樹脂全体量の10%以上である。
前記(8)-(i)で得られたフレキシブルフラットケーブルについて、2本の錫メッキ銅線に囲まれた範囲の長さ方向の長さを、熱処理後に測定し、次式により収縮率を算出した。なお、フレキシブルフラットケーブルの原長は100mmであり、錫メッキ銅線自体は熱処理によっても伸縮しない。また、前記(8)-(i)または(ii)において、評価結果が×のものは、長さの測定を行わなかった。
収縮率(%)=(原長-熱処理後長)/(原長)×100
収縮率が大きいほど、(i)の測定において剥がれ易くなる傾向がある。
(1)テルペン系樹脂(Q)
・Q-1:芳香族変性テルペン樹脂(ヤスハラケミカル社製「YSレジンTO105」、軟化点105℃)

・Q-4:芳香族変性テルペン樹脂水素添加品(ヤスハラケミカル社製「クリアロンP105」、軟化点105℃)
・Q-5:芳香族変性テルペン樹脂(ヤスハラケミカル社製「YSレジンTO115」、軟化点115℃)
・Q-6:テルペンフェノール樹脂(ヤスハラケミカル社製「YSポリスターT130」、軟化点130℃)
・Q-7:テルペンフェノール樹脂(ヤスハラケミカル社製「YSポリスターT145」、軟化点145℃)
・Q-8:テルペンフェノール樹脂(ヤスハラケミカル社製「YSポリスターT30」、軟化点30℃)
・Q-9:テルペンフェノール樹脂(ヤスハラケミカル社製「YSポリスターT160」、軟化点160℃)
・R-1:水素添加ロジンエステル(ハリマ化成社製「F105」、軟化点102℃)
・R-2:ロジンエステル(ハリマ化成社製「2520」、軟化点87℃)
・R-3:不均化ロジンエステル(ハリマ化成社製「FK100」、軟化点99℃)
・R-4:重合ロジンエステル(ハリマ化成社製「PCJ」、軟化点123℃)
・S-1:4,4′-ジフェニルメタンジイソシアネート[MDI](三井化学社製汎用ポリメリックMDI)
・S-2:ヘキサメチレンジイソシアネート[HDI](旭化成ケミカルズ社製TPA-100)
調製例1
テレフタル酸83g(50モル%)、イソフタル酸83g(50モル%)、エチレングリコール42g(67モル%)、ネオペンチルグリコール66g(63モル%)、ポリテトラメチレングリコール63g(5モル%)および重合触媒としてテトラブチルチタネート0.1gを反応器に仕込み、系内を窒素に置換した。そして、これらの原料を1000rpmで撹拌しながら、反応器を245℃で加熱し、溶融させた。反応器内温度が245℃に到達してから、3時間エステル化反応を進行させた。3時間経過後、系内の温度を240℃にし、系内を減圧した。系内が高真空(圧力:0.1~10-5Pa)に到達してから、さらに3時間重合反応を行って、ポリエステル樹脂(P-1)を得た。
使用するモノマーの種類とその組成および重合反応時間を表1のように変更した以外は、調製例1と同様にし、ポリエステル樹脂(P-2)~(P-20)を得た。
TPA:テレフタル酸
IPA:イソフタル酸
ADA:アジピン酸(主鎖の炭素数が6)
AZA:アゼライン酸(主鎖の炭素数が8)
SEA:セバシン酸(主鎖の炭素数が9)
SUA:コハク酸(主鎖の炭素数が4)
EG:エチレングリコール
NPG:ネオペンチルグリコール
PTMG:ポリテトラメチレングリコール(分子量:1000、主鎖の炭素数が約54)
HD:1,6-ヘキサンジオール(主鎖の炭素数が6)
BAEO:ビスフェノールAのエチレンオキシド付加物
ポリエステル樹脂(P-1)とテルペン系樹脂(Q-1)とを、質量比が(P-1)/(Q-1)=80/20となるように、混練温度140℃、スクリュー回転150rpm、吐出量15kg/hの条件下、溶融混練して樹脂組成物を得た。各種評価を行った結果を表2に示す。
ポリエステル樹脂、テルペン系樹脂およびロジン系樹脂の種類および質量部を表2~3記載のように変更する以外は、実施例1と同様にして、樹脂組成物を得た。なお、実施例35、36は、さらに硬化剤を含有させて樹脂組成物を得た。各種評価を行った結果を表2~3に示す。
実施例1で得られた樹脂組成物を固形分濃度が30質量%となるように、トルエンとメチルエチルケトンの混合溶剤(トルエン/メチルエチルケトン=8/2、質量比)に溶解させて、接着剤を得た。得られた接着剤を用いて各種評価を行った。その結果を表3に示す。
ポリエステル樹脂(P-1)とテルペン系樹脂(Q-1)とを、質量比が(P-1)/(Q-1)=80/20、固形分濃度が30質量%となるように、トルエンとメチルエチルケトンの混合溶剤(トルエン/メチルエチルケトン=8/2、質量比)に溶解させて、接着剤を得た。得られた接着剤を用いて各種評価を行った。その結果を表3に示す。
比較例4では、ポリエステル樹脂のガラス転移温度が、本発明で規定する下限値未満であったため、樹脂層は耐熱性が劣り、耐熱エージング試験において、樹脂層から樹脂が融けて流れ出した。比較例5では、ポリエステル樹脂のガラス転移温度が、本発明で規定する上限値を超えたため、樹脂層は接着性が劣り、また、耐熱エージング試験を行った際の寸法安定性が不足した。
比較例6では、テルペン系樹脂の軟化点が本発明で規定する下限値未満であったため、樹脂層は耐熱性が劣り、耐熱エージング試験において、樹脂層から樹脂が融けて流れ出し、その結果、基材から剥がれた。比較例7では、テルペン系樹脂の軟化点が本発明で規定する上限値を超えたため、樹脂層は接着性、耐熱性が劣り、特に、耐熱エージング試験において、積層体の全面積の10%以上で剥離が生じた。
Claims (8)
- ポリエステル樹脂(A)と、テルペン系樹脂(Q)および/またはロジン系樹脂(R)からなる樹脂(B)とを含有するポリエステル樹脂組成物であって、
前記ポリエステル樹脂(A)のガラス転移温度が-40~70℃であり、
前記樹脂(B)の軟化点が80~145℃であり、
ポリエステル樹脂(A)と樹脂(B)との質量比(A/B)が50/50~95/5であることを特徴とするポリエステル樹脂組成物。 - ポリエステル樹脂(A)を構成する多価カルボン酸成分における、主鎖の炭素数が6以上である多価カルボン酸の含有量が3~45モル%であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のポリエステル樹脂組成物。
- ポリエステル樹脂(A)を構成するグリコール成分における、主鎖の炭素数が6以上であるグリコールの含有量が3~45モル%であることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載のポリエステル樹脂組成物。
- さらに硬化剤(C)を含有することを特徴とする請求項1~3のいずれかに記載のポリエステル樹脂組成物。
- 請求項1~4のいずれかに記載のポリエステル樹脂組成物と有機溶剤とを含有することを特徴とする接着剤。
- 請求項1~4のいずれかに記載のポリエステル樹脂組成物にて形成されてなる樹脂層。
- 請求項6記載の樹脂層を含有する積層体。
- 請求項7記載の積層体を用いてなるフレキシブルフラットケーブル。
