次に、空気調和機(1)の室内ユニット(20)の詳細構造について図2~図4を参照しながら説明する。本実施形態の室内ユニット(20)は、天井埋込式に構成され、室内空間(R)に面する天井(U)の開口部(O)に挿入されて配置される室内ユニット本体(21)と、室内ユニット本体(21)の下部に設けられる化粧パネル(40)とを備えている。本実施形態では、室内ユニット本体(21)は、天井(U)の上方空間(すなわち、天井裏)において吊り下げ機構(図示を省略)によって吊り下げられている。また、室内ユニット本体(21)の下部に化粧パネル(40)を取り付けることにより、天井(U)の開口部(O)および室内ユニット本体(21)の下面が閉塞されている。
図2及び図3に示すように、室内ユニット本体(21)は、ケーシング(22)を有している。ケーシング(22)は、平面視において略正方形状の天板(23)と、該天板(23)の周縁部から下方に延びる略矩形状の4枚の側板(24)とを有し、下面に開口が形成された略直方体形状の箱形に構成されている。図2に示すように、4つの側板(24)のうちの1つの側板(24a)には、縦長の箱形の電装品箱(25)が取り付けられている。また、この側板(24a)には、室内熱交換器(32)に接続された液側接続管(8)とガス側接続管(9)とが貫通している。液側接続管(8)には、液連絡配管(4)が接続され、ガス側接続管(9)には、ガス連絡配管(5)が接続されている。
化粧パネル(40)は、ケーシング(22)の下面に取り付けられている。化粧パネル(40)は、パネル本体(41)と吸込グリル(60)とを備えている。
図2、図3、図5及び図6に示すように、パネル本体(41)は、上下方向の厚みの薄い略立方体形状に構成され、ケーシング(22)の下部に取り付けられている。パネル本体(41)には、パネル側吸込流路(42)と、4つのパネル側吹出流路(43)と、4つのパネル側面凹部(44)とが形成されている。また、パネル本体(41)の外周下端部には、天井面(U)に沿って外方に延出する略矩形枠状のパネル延出部(45)が設けられている。
吸込グリル(60)は、パネル側吸込流路(42)の下端(即ち、吸込口(42a))に取り付けられている。吸込グリル(60)は、吸込口(42a)に位置する格子状のグリル本体(61)と、グリル本体(61)の下端部の全周から4つの吹出口(43a)に向かって外方に延出する延長部(65)とを有している。吸込グリル(60)は、樹脂を射出成形することにより、グリル本体(61)と延長部(65)とが一体形成されている。吸込グリル(60)は、人が後述する凹部(81)の陰影を視認可能な程度に明度の高い色となるように構成されている。本実施形態では、オフホワイト色の樹脂によって形成されている。
図9に示すように、延長部(65)の上面とパネル本体(41)の下面との間には、4つの吹出口(43a)から吸込口(42a)側への空気の流通を規制する規制部(70)が設けられている。規制部(70)は、パネル本体(41)の下面に形成されて4つの吹出口(43a)のそれぞれに沿って延びる4つの溝部(71)と、延長部(65)の上面から4つの溝部(71)の内部に突出して該溝部(71)の長手方向に延びる突出壁(72)とによって構成されている。
図6に示すように、化粧パネル(40)の下面には、吸込グリル(60)の意匠性を向上させるために多数の凹部(81)が形成されている。本実施形態では、多数の凹部(81)は、吸込グリル(60)の延長部(65)の下面に形成されている。
室内ファン(27)が運転状態となると、室内空間(R)から吸込グリル(60)の多数の吸込孔(63)、パネル本体(41)のパネル側吸込流路(42)、ベルマウス(31)の内部空間(31a)を経由して、室内ファン(27)の羽根収容空間(29b)へ室内空気が吸い込まれる。羽根収容空間(29b)の空気は、室内ファン(27)の羽根車(30)によって搬送され、ハブ(28)とシュラウド(29)の間から径方向外方へ吹き出される。室内ファン(27)から吹き出された空気は、室内熱交換器(32)を通過する際に該室内熱交換器(32)を流れる冷媒と熱交換する。これにより、室内熱交換器(32)を通過する空気は、該室内熱交換器(32)が蒸発器として機能している場合(すなわち、冷房運転の場合)には冷却され、室内熱交換器(32)が凝縮器として機能している場合(すなわち、暖房運転の場合)には加熱される。そして、室内熱交換器(32)を通過した空気は、室内ユニット本体(21)の4つの本体側吹出流路(37)に分流した後に、化粧パネル(40)の4つのパネル側吹出流路(43)を下方に流れ、4つの吹出口(43a)から室内空間(R)に吹き出される。
上述したように、長方形状の吸込孔が形成された吸込グリルを有する室内ユニットでは、室内ユニットが視野に入る位置に居る人には、長方形状の吸込孔を介して該吸込孔の奥側の空間が見えるため、化粧パネルの吸込口部分のみが黒く見え、室内空間の美観を損なってしまう。これに対し、例えば、黒く見える吸込口の周囲の部分に、化粧パネルの下面の色が中央部から外方へ段階的に明るくなるように着色して、黒く見える部分の境界をぼかすことによって意匠性の向上を図ることが考えられるが、着色工程を追加しなければならず、製造工程が増えるという問題があった。
本実施形態によれば、化粧パネル(40)の下面であって、多数の吸込孔(63)が形成されたグリル本体(61)の周囲に、該グリル本体(61)を取り囲むように多数の凹部(81)を形成することとした。そのため、頭部を軽く動かすことで無理なく室内ユニット(20)が視野に入る位置に居る人には、グリル本体(61)が黒く見えたとしても、その周囲に形成した多数の凹部(81)の陰影によって、黒く見えるグリル本体(61)と吸込孔(63)が無く明るく見える周囲の部分との境界をぼかすことができる。従って、化粧パネル(40)を製造する際に、着色等によって製造工程を増やすことなく、多数の吸込孔(63)と共に多数の凹部(81)を形成するだけで容易に化粧パネル(40)の意匠性を向上させることができる。また、このように、製造工程を増やすことなく吸込グリル(60)の意匠性の向上を図ることができる化粧パネル(40)を備えた空気調和機(1)の室内ユニット(20)を提供することができる。

Claims (9)
- 天井に設けられる室内ユニット本体(21)の下部に設けられる空気調和機の化粧パネルであって、
吸込口(42a)が形成されたパネル本体(41)と、
多数の吸込孔(63)が形成されるように格子状に形成されて上記吸込口(42a)に位置するグリル本体(61)を有し、上記パネル本体(41)の吸込口(42a)に取り付けられる吸込グリル(60)とを備え、
下面であって上記グリル本体(61)の周囲に、該グリル本体(61)を取り囲むように多数の凹部(81)が形成されている
ことを特徴とする空気調和機の化粧パネル。 - 請求項1において、
上記多数の凹部(81)は、上記グリル本体(61)の周囲に該グリル本体(61)に沿う上記凹部(81)の列が2列以上構成されるように配列され、最も内側の列から最も外側の列に向かって開口面積が段階的に小さくなるように形成されている
ことを特徴とする空気調和機の化粧パネル。 - 請求項2において、
上記多数の凹部(81)は、開口面積が上記多数の吸込孔(63)の横断面の面積よりも小さくなるように形成されている
ことを特徴とする空気調和機の化粧パネル。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれか1つにおいて、
上記グリル本体(61)は、上記各吸込孔(63)の横断面形状が正方形状となるように形成される一方、少なくとも複数の上記吸込孔(63)を形成する周壁の高さが、該吸込孔(63)の幅長さにtan30°を乗じた長さ以上になるように構成されている
ことを特徴とする空気調和機の化粧パネル。 - 請求項4において、
上記グリル本体(61)は、外周部の上記吸込孔(63a)の幅長さが内側の上記吸込孔(63b)の幅長さよりも短くなるように構成されている
ことを特徴とする空気調和機の化粧パネル。 - 請求項5において、
上記グリル本体(61)は、上記内側の吸込孔(63b)の幅長さが11mm以上15mm以下となるように構成されている
ことを特徴とする空気調和機の化粧パネル。 - 請求項1乃至6のいずれか1つにおいて、
上記吸込グリル(60)は、上記グリル本体(61)の全周から上記パネル本体(41)の下面と重なるように外方に延出する延長部(65)を有し、
上記多数の凹部(81)は、上記延長部(65)に形成されている
ことを特徴とする空気調和機の化粧パネル。 - 請求項7において、
上記吸込グリル(60)は、樹脂を射出成形することによって形成されている
ことを特徴とする空気調和機の化粧パネル。 - 天井に設けられる室内ユニット本体(21)と、該室内ユニット本体(21)の下部に設けられる化粧パネル(40)とを備えた空気調和機の室内ユニットであって、
上記化粧パネル(40)は、請求項1乃至8のいずれか1つの化粧パネルによって構成されている
ことを特徴とする空気調和機の室内ユニット。
