Therefore, it is considered that the difference between the core intervals of the two MCFs to be connected defines the minimum value of the axis deviation amount when the connection is made. - the “predetermined core interval” means a designed core interval, and the actual core interval substantially coincides with the “predetermined core interval”, but has a slight deviation.
- the “maximum deviation ⁇ of neighboring core spacing” is the maximum value of the maximum deviation of neighboring core spacing in each of the plurality of MCFs constituting the optical component.

It is the maximum deviation of the spot size at the wavelength.
- each of the plurality of optical fiber lines included in the optical component of this embodiment may have the following aspects. - One way to reduce the difference in the core spacing of the MCF is to create a clearance between the outer diameter of the core rod and the inner diameter of the pipe into which the core rod is inserted when the MCF base material is produced by the rod-in collapse method.
- One way is to make it smaller. For example, considering the case of manufacturing an MCF with a cladding diameter of 125 ⁇ m by drawing an MCF base material with a diameter of 125 mm, if the clearance between the core rod outer diameter and the pipe inner diameter is suppressed to 0.3 mm or less on one side, Even in the worst case where the core rod is biased within the clearance, it is possible to suppress the difference in the core interval after fiberization to 0.6 ⁇ m or less.
- MCF can be manufactured using a plurality of core materials obtained by dividing the same core material into a plurality of core materials.
- the core diameter after fiberization is obtained by adding GeO 2 to quartz glass so that the relative refractive index difference with respect to the cladding made of quartz glass is 0.34%.
- the film is stretched to 8.6 ⁇ m and then divided. Since the same core material is divided and used, the difference in relative refractive index and core diameter of each core is suppressed, and a spot size difference of 0.7 ⁇ m corresponding to a connection loss of 0.1 dB can be realized. .
- an optical fiber line As an optical fiber line, a plurality of MCFs are manufactured under the same conditions using a base material using the same core material, an optical fiber line is manufactured using the plurality of MCFs, and the core arrangement position is specified. If the core positions at the same arrangement position are connected based on the marker, an optical fiber line with ideal connection quality can be configured.
- the structural design of the core material is such that the bending loss at a wavelength of 1550 nm is 0.1 when the mode field diameter at a wavelength of 1310 nm is 9.2 ⁇ m, the cable cutoff wavelength is 1.16 ⁇ m, and the winding radius is 30 mm. This corresponds to 01 dB or less.
- This is an international standard for a standard single mode optical fiber (mode field diameter center value 8.6 to 9.5 ⁇ m, cable cut-off wavelength 1260 nm or less, with a bending radius of 30 mm and 100 turns, with a wavelength of 1550 nm. The bending loss at 0.1 dB or less).
- the core of the MCF is designed to have characteristics equivalent to those of a standard single mode optical fiber, thereby enabling coupling with low loss.
- the wavelength used is assumed to be any of the 0.85 ⁇ m band, the 1.31 ⁇ m band, and the 1.55 ⁇ m band.
- the core interval difference and the spot size difference may be set appropriately in accordance with the required connection loss level.
- the clearance between the core rod and the pipe can be made larger than the above example, thereby facilitating the insertion of the core rod into the pipe and improving the productivity of the MCF. it can.
- the core structure design of adjacent cores is intentionally different, thereby reducing crosstalk between adjacent cores.
- the MCFs to be connected satisfy the above-described relational expression, the MCFs are connected with low loss without selecting the MCFs to be connected from the optical fiber cables to be connected. It becomes possible.
- the MCFs to be connected may be identifiable with a marker or the like.
- the number of cores per unit cross-sectional area in an optical fiber cable can be greatly increased.
- the number of cores per unit cross-sectional area is about 0.9 core / mm 2 .
- the number of cores in one optical fiber cable is set to 700 and the number of cores per unit cross-sectional area is about 6.2 cores / mm. Can be increased to 2 .
- the maximum number of cores per unit cross-sectional area is about 2.1 / mm 2 even at 200 cores (see Non-Patent Document 1), and the effect of increasing the number of cores by the MCF cable is enormous. I can say that. With the increase in the number of cores, it is expected that the connection work between the optical fiber cables and the reduction of the connection loss will be difficult. However, with the optical component of this embodiment, the connection between the MCFs with a low loss is possible due to the above reasons. It becomes possible.
