- a flow path that is formed and communicates between one chamber and the other chamber, and a damping force generation element such as a leaf valve that provides resistance to the working fluid that passes through the flow path.
- the shock absorber generates a damping force due to the resistance of the damping force generating element.
- the damping force generated by the shock absorber greatly affects the riding comfort of the vehicle. Therefore, various damping characteristics are available so that the shock absorber can achieve the desired damping characteristic (change in damping force with respect to piston speed). It is preferable to provide a damping valve capable of realizing the above.
- JP2008-138696A discloses a damping valve for a shock absorber in which a retainer is provided on a piston that divides one chamber and the other chamber.

And an outer peripheral flow path formed on the outer peripheral side of the piston and communicating the one chamber and the other chamber.
- the leaf valve corresponding to the inner peripheral flow path is obtained by stacking the leaf valves via the retainer. Since the diameter of the seat to be seated can be increased, a leaf valve having a large diameter and being easily bent can be used.
- the damping coefficient of the valve characteristic ratio of the damping force change amount to the piston speed change amount caused by the resistance when the working fluid passes through the gap between the outer peripheral portion of the leaf valve and the valve seat can be reduced.
- damping force characteristics can be changed in various ways by replacing retainers with various dimensions and shapes.
- the shock absorber to which the above damping valve is applied generates a damping force having a port characteristic due to resistance when the working fluid passes through the inner circumferential flow path when the leaf valve is opened to some extent. Moreover, the damping force of the port characteristics can be changed by replacing the retainer with a different flow passage area.
- the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and a piston (valve disk) can be used in combination with a retainer. Even when the piston is used alone, the damping coefficient of the port characteristic is increased.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a damping valve for a shock absorber capable of changing the damping force of a port characteristic.

Pass through 40 and move to one chamber A. Accordingly, the shock absorber D generates a square force damping force due to the orifice.
- the shock absorber D When the shock absorber D is compressed, if the piston speed leaves the low speed region and reaches the medium speed region, the pressurized working fluid in the other chamber B deflects the outer periphery of the leaf valve 4b, and the valve of the piston 1 It moves to the one chamber A through a gap formed between the seat 13 and the outer periphery of the leaf valve 4b. Therefore, the shock absorber D generates a proportional damping force by the leaf valve 4b.
- the shock absorber D When the shock absorber D is compressed, when the piston speed is further increased and the leaf valve 4b is opened to some extent by reaching the high speed region, the shock absorber D has a port characteristic due to resistance when the working fluid passes through the outer peripheral flow path 3b. - the leaf valve 4a is stacked via the retainer 200, so that the leaf valve corresponding to the inner peripheral flow path 300a. Since the diameter of the valve seat 202 on which the seat 4a is seated can be increased, the leaf valve 4a having a large diameter and being easily bent can be used.
- the damping force characteristics can be variously changed.
- the shock absorber D1 when the leaf valve 4a is opened to some extent, the shock absorber D1 generates a damping force having a port characteristic due to the resistance when the working fluid passes through the inner circumferential flow path 300a. And the damping force of a port characteristic can be changed by changing to the retainer 200 from which the flow path area of the retainer through-hole 210 differs.
- the working fluid passing through the inner peripheral side flow path 300 a is not restricted by the valve disk through hole 110. It is necessary to keep.
- a special piston having a large flow area of the valve disk through hole 110 must be prepared.
- this special piston is used alone, there is a problem that it is difficult to increase the attenuation coefficient of the port characteristic because the flow passage area of the valve disk through hole 110 is large.
- the flow passage area of the retainer through hole 20 is set to be equal to or larger than the flow passage area of the valve disc through hole 10, so that the working fluid that has passed through the valve disc through hole 10 is retained in the retainer through hole. There is no squeezing at 20. Therefore, the damping force of the port characteristic can be set by the flow path area of the valve disk through hole 10, and the damping force characteristic can be changed by replacing the piston 1 with a different flow path area.
- the flow passage area of the valve disk through-hole 10 only needs to be equal to or smaller than the flow passage area of the retainer through-hole 20, even when the piston 1 is used alone, the attenuation coefficient of the port characteristic can be increased, and the existing piston Can be used.
- the piston 1 may be used alone as a configuration without the retainer 2.
- the piston 1 having the valve disk through hole 10 having the largest flow passage area is the piston 1A, and then the flow passage area is large.
- the piston 1 having the valve disk through hole 10 is the piston 1B and the piston having the valve disk through hole 10 having the smallest flow path area is the piston 1C
- the retainer passage formed in the retainer 2 combined with the pistons 1A, 1B, 1C.
- the flow path area of the hole 20 is set to be equal to or larger than the flow path area of the valve disk through hole 10 of the piston 1A.
- P1, P2, and P3 indicated by solid lines in FIG. 4 are retainers in which the three types of pistons 1A, 1B, and 1C are set so that the flow passage area of the retainer through hole 20 is equal to or larger than the flow passage area of the valve disk through hole 10 of the piston 1A. 2 and attenuation characteristics when used in combination.

- P2 shows the case where the piston 1B is used
- P3 shows the case where the piston 1C is used.
- P4, P5, and P6 indicated by broken lines in FIG. 4 are damping characteristics when three types of pistons 1A, 1B, and 1C are used as a single piston. In this case, P1 changes to P4, P2 changes to P5, and P3 changes to P6.
- the piston 1 is formed with an inner peripheral flow path 3a on the inner peripheral side and an outer peripheral flow path 3b on the outer peripheral side, so that a leaf valve 4a that closes the outlet of the inner peripheral flow path 3a is provided,
- a leaf valve 4a that closes the outlet of the inner peripheral flow path 3a is provided
- the leaf valve 4a As a configuration including the retainer 2, by increasing the diameter of the valve seat 26 on which the leaf valve 4a that closes the inner circumferential flow path 3a is seated, the leaf valve 4a having a large diameter and being easily bent is provided. It is preferable to enable use so that the damping coefficient can be reduced when the piston speed is in the middle speed range.
- valve disk through hole 10 and the retainer through hole 20 communicate with each other through the windows 15 and 22, the circumferential position between the valve disk through hole 10 and the retainer through hole 20. There is no need to put together.
- valve disk through-hole 10 and the outer peripheral flow path 3b penetrate the piston 1 in the direction of the central axis of the shock absorber D, and the retainer through-hole 20 penetrates the retainer 2 in the direction of the central axis of the shock absorber D. Therefore, the valve disk through hole 10, the outer peripheral flow path 3b, and the retainer through hole 20 can be easily formed.
- the piston body 1b includes the skirt portion 1d and the small outer diameter portion 2a of the retainer 2 is inserted into the skirt portion 1d, the width of the sliding contact portion 1c in the direction of the central axis of the shock absorber D is secured.
- the width when the piston 1 and the retainer 2 are combined can be shortened, and the shock absorber D can be reduced in size.
- damping valve in the above embodiment is applied to the piston portion of the shock absorber D, it may be applied to the base valve portion of the shock absorber D.
- the buffer D is a hydraulic buffer that uses liquid as the working fluid, but may be a pneumatic buffer that uses gas as the working fluid.
- valve disk through hole 10 and the retainer through hole 20 communicate with each other through windows 15 and 22 formed on the mating surfaces of the piston 1 and the retainer 2, but either the piston 1 or the retainer 2 is connected. If a window is formed on one side, there is no need to align in the circumferential direction. In addition, as long as the alignment is possible, when the valve disk through hole 10 and the retainer through hole 20 are communicated, it is not necessary to communicate through the windows 15 and 22.
- the shapes of the piston 1 and the retainer 2 and the shapes and numbers of the valve disk through hole 10, the outer peripheral side flow path 3b, and the retainer through hole 20 are not limited to the above, and can be changed as appropriate.
- the retainer 2 in the above embodiment has the elastic deformation portion 21 between the adjacent retainer through-holes 20, thereby preventing the working fluid from leaking from the middle of the inner peripheral flow path 3 a. As long as this effect can be achieved, the elastic deformation portion 21 may not be provided.
