発熱性の低いゴム組成物を得る手法としては、合成ジエン系ゴムの場合では、ゴム組成物として、カーボンブラック及びシリカとの親和性を高めた重合体を使用する方法(例えば、特許文献3参照)が挙げられる。また、天然ゴムの場合では、天然ゴムを変性させた変性天然ゴムに反応性の高いカーボンブラックを配合する方法(例えば、特許文献4参照)が挙げられる。
特許文献3及び4によれば、カーボンブラックなどの充填材とゴム成分との親和性を高めることにより、ゴム組成物の発熱性を低くすることができる。これにより、ヒステリシスロスの低いタイヤを得ることができる。
しかしながら、自動車の低燃費化が一層進むにつれて、タイヤにも低発熱性の更なる改良が望まれていた。
即ち、本発明は、
ゴム成分(A)と、アミノ酸誘導体(B)と、無機充填材(C)を含む充填材を配合してなるゴム組成物であって、かつ、硫黄及び硫黄化合物から選択される少なくとも1種を配合してなるゴム組成物、を提供するものである。
[ゴム組成物]
本発明のゴム組成物はゴム成分(A)と、アミノ酸誘導体(B)と、無機充填材(C)を含む充填材を含むゴム組成物であって、かつ、硫黄及び硫黄化合物から選択される少なくとも1種を配合してなるゴム組成物である。
ゴム組成物に、アミノ酸誘導体を(B)を配合することにより、加硫速度を促進することができ、充填材の分散性が大幅に向上し、ゴム組成物の低発熱性が著しく改良される。
本発明のゴム組成物に用いられるゴム成分(A)は、天然ゴム及び合成ジエン系ゴムから選択できる。合成ジエン系ゴムとしては、スチレン-ブタジエン共重合体ゴム(SBR)、ポリブタジエンゴム(BR)、ポリイソプレンゴム(IR)、ブチルゴム(IIR)、エチレン-プロピレン-ジエン三元共重合体ゴム(EPDM)等を用いることができる。天然ゴム及び合成ジエン系ゴムは、1種単独でもよいし、2種以上をブレンドして用いてもよい。
アミノ酸誘導体(B)は分子内にアミノ基またはイミノ基を少なくとも1つ以上有しており、かつカルボン酸を少なくとも1つ以上有し、該カルボン酸の酸部分が化学修飾されているアミノ酸誘導体を含むことが好ましい。ここで化学修飾されたカルボン酸とは、カルボン酸の水素原子が炭化水素基、アルカリ金属、アルカリ土類金属で置換された構造を有しているものを示す。
本発明に係るアミノ酸誘導体(B)は、下記一般式(Ia)、(Ib)及び(Ic)から選択される少なくとも1種を用いることが、好ましい。
Rdは水素原子、脂肪族炭化水素基、脂環式炭化水素基、芳香族炭化水素基、アルカリ金属、及びアルカリ土類金属から選ばれるものである。]
ここで、Ra及びRdの脂肪族炭化水素基は、それぞれ1~10の炭素数を有する脂肪族炭化水素基であることが好ましく、脂環式炭化水素基は、それぞれ3~10の炭素数を有する脂環式炭化水素基であることが好ましく、芳香族炭化水素基は、それぞれ6~10の炭素数を有する芳香族炭化水素基であることが好ましい。

これらの一般式(Ib)で表わされる具体的な好ましいアミノ酸誘導体としては、プロリンナトリウム塩、プロリンカリウム塩が挙げられる。
上記一般式(Ic)中、Xはメチレン基、エチレン基、プロパン-1,3-ジイル基、プロパン-1,2-ジイル基、ブタン-1,4-ジイル基、ブタン-1,3-ジイル基、ブタン-1,2-ジイル基、ペンタン-1,5-ジイル基、ペンタン-1,4-ジイル基、ペンタン-1,3-ジイル基、ペンタン-1,2-ジイル基、ヘキサン-1,6-ジイル基、ヘキサン-1,5-ジイル基、ヘキサン-1,4-ジイル基、ヘキサン-1,3-ジイル基、ヘキサン-1,2-ジイル基であることが好ましい。

従来のゴム組成物に添加することが可能な充填材はいずれも本発明の充填材として使用可能であり、無機充填材(C)を含むものである。
本発明に係る充填材としては、無機充填材(C)と他の充填材とを併用してもよいし、無機充填材(C)単独でもよい。
充填材が無機充填材(C)を含むことを要するのは、低発熱性を向上するためである。
本発明においては、上述の無機充填材(C)のうち、低転がり性と耐摩耗性の両立の観点からシリカが好ましい。シリカとしては市販のあらゆるものが使用できるが、なかでも湿式シリカ、乾式シリカ、コロイダルシリカを用いるのが好ましく、湿式シリカを用いるのが特に好ましい。シリカのBET比表面積(ISO 5794/1に準拠して測定する)は40~350m2/gであるのが好ましい。BET比表面積がこの範囲であるシリカは、ゴム補強性とゴム成分中への分散性とを両立できるという利点がある。この観点から、BET比表面積が80~350m2/gの範囲にあるシリカがより好ましく、BET比表面積が130m2/gを超え、350m2/g以下であるシリカが更に好ましく、BET比表面積が135~350m2/gの範囲にあるシリカが特に好ましい。このようなシリカとしては東ソー・シリカ株式会社製、商品名「ニップシールAQ」(BET比表面積=205m2/g)、「ニップシールKQ」(BET比表面積=240m2/g)、デグッサ社製商品名「ウルトラジルVN3」(BET比表面積 =175m2/g)等の市販品を用いることができる。
シリカなどの無機充填材(C)が配合されたゴム組成物においては、シリカによるゴム組成物の補強性を高めるため、又はゴム組成物の低発熱性と共に耐摩耗性を高めるために、シランカップリング剤(D)が配合されることが好ましい。
無機充填材(C)、特にシリカ、及びシランカップリング剤(D)が配合されたゴム組成物では、アミノ酸誘導体(B)が、無機充填材(C)とシランカップリング剤(D)との反応を良好に促進するとことも考えられる。このように、本発明に係るゴム組成物によれば、特にシリカの分散性が大幅に向上し、ゴム組成物の低発熱性が著しく改良できる。
シランカップリング剤(D)の詳細については、後述する。
充填材は、ゴム成分(A)100質量部に対して、20~150質量部使用することが好ましい。20質量部以上であれば、ゴム組成物の補強性向上の観点から好ましく、150質量部以下であれば、転がり抵抗低減の観点から好ましい。
無機充填材(C)は、ゴム成分(A)100質量部に対して、20~120質量部使用することが好ましい。20質量部以上であれば、ウェット性能を確保する観点から好ましく、120質量部以下であれば、転がり抵抗低減の観点から好ましい。更には、30~100質量部使用することがより好ましい。
ウェット性能と転がり抵抗の両立の観点から、充填材中、無機充填材(C)が30質量%以上であることが好ましく、40質量%以上であることがより好ましく、70質量%以上であることが更に好ましい。
なお、無機充填材(C)としてシリカを使用する場合は、前記充填材中におけるシリカが30質量%以上であることが好ましい。
本発明のゴム組成物には、シリカのほか、下記式(1)で表される無機化合物を用いることができる。
dM1・xSiOy・zH2O (1)
ここで、一般式(1)中、M1は、アルミニウム、マグネシウム、チタン、カルシウム、及びジルコニウムからなる群から選ばれる金属、これらの金属の酸化物又は水酸化物、及びそれらの水和物、又はこれらの金属の炭酸塩から選ばれる少なくとも一種であり、d、x、y及びzは、それぞれ1~5の整数、0~10の整数、2~5の整数、及び0~10の整数である。
なお、一般式(1)の、x、zがともに0である場合には、該無機化合物はアルミニウム、マグネシウム、チタン、カルシウム及びジルコニウムから選ばれる少なくとも1つの金属、金属酸化物又は金属水酸化物となる。
また、一般式(I)中のM1がアルミニウム金属、アルミニウムの酸化物又は水酸化物、及びそれらの水和物、又はアルミニウムの炭酸塩から選ばれる少なくとも一つである場合が好ましい。
本発明における無機充填材(C)として、シリカ単独で使用してもよいし、シリカと一般式(1)で表される無機化合物の1種以上とを併用してもよい。
本発明に係る充填材は、所望によりカーボンブラックを含んでいてもよい。カーボンブラックとしては、市販ものが使用できる。カーボンブラックを含有することにより、電気抵抗を下げて帯電を抑止する効果を享受できる。
カーボンブラックに特に制限はないが、例えば、高、中又は低ストラクチャーのSAF、ISAF、IISAF、N339、HAF、FEF、GPF、SRFグレードのカーボンブラックを使用できる。特に、SAF、ISAF、IISAF、N339、HAF、FEFグレードのカーボンブラックを用いることが好ましい。
カーボンブラックのDBP吸収量は、好ましくは80cm3/100g以上、より好ましくは100cm3/100g以上、特に好ましくは110cm3/100g以上である。また、カーボンブラックの窒素吸着比表面積(N2SA、JIS K 6217-2:2001に準拠して測定する)は、好ましくは85m2/g以上、より好ましくは100m2/g以上、特に好ましくは110m2/g以上である。
本発明のゴム組成物には、硫黄及び硫黄化合物から選択される少なくとも1種が配合される。硫黄及び硫黄化合物は、加硫剤として用いられるものである。硫黄化合物としては、塩化硫黄、モルホリン・ジスルフィド、高分子多硫化物を挙げることができる。
ゴム成分(A)100質量部に対して、硫黄及び硫黄化合物から選択される少なくとも1種は、0.1~5質量部、好ましくは、0.5~3質量部が配合される。この範囲内の配合量により、ゴム組成物を適切に加硫させることができる。
無機充填材(C)と併用可能なシランカップリング剤(D)としては、下記一般式(II)~(V)で表される化合物からなる群から1種以上選択される化合物を用いることができる。以下、下記一般式(II)~(V)を順に説明する。
上記一般式(III)におけるR12の例としては、メチレン基,エチレン基,トリメチレン基,テトラメチレン基,ペンタメチレン基,ヘキサメチレン基,オクタメチレン基,デカメチレン基,ドデカメチレン基等が挙げられる。

で表される化合物が好適に挙げられる。
また、一般式(VII)で表される市販品として入手できるシランカップリング剤としては、Momentive Performance Materials社製、商品名「NXT Ultra Low-V Silane」が挙げられる。
更に、一般式(VIII)で表される市販品として入手できるシランカップリング剤としては、Momentive Performance Materials社製、商品名「NXT-Z」が挙げられる。
本発明においては、シランカップリング剤(D)は一種を単独で用いてもよく、二種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
これに対して、混練工程における混練段階の回数を増やすと、無機充填材(C)とシランカップリング剤(D)との反応を混練工程で完結させることができ、ポーラスの発生を抑えることが可能である。しかし、混練工程の生産性を著しく低下させるという問題があった。
本発明に係るゴム組成物では、アミノ酸誘導体(B)は、無機充填材(C)とシランカップリング剤(D)との反応を良好に促進するので、低発熱性に優れたゴム組成物を得ることができる。特に、アミノ酸誘導体(B)として、前記一般式(Ic)で表わされるアミノ酸誘導体を用いた場合には、より低発熱性に優れたゴム組成物を得ることができる。このように、本発明に係るゴム組成物によれば、ゴム加工時の作業性に更に優れると共に、より発熱性の低い空気入りタイヤを得ることができる。
本発明に係るゴム組成物には、加硫促進剤が配合される。加硫促進剤としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、M(2-メルカプトベンゾチアゾール)、DM(ジベンゾチアゾリルジスルフィド)、CZ(N-シクロヘキシル-2-ベンゾチアゾリルスルフェンアミド)等のチアゾール系、あるいはDPG(ジフェニルグアニジン)等のグアニジン系の加硫促進剤等が挙げられる。
本発明のゴム組成物には有機酸化合物を含有させることができる。有機酸化合物としては、ステアリン酸、パルミチン酸、ミリスチン酸、ラウリン酸、アラキジン酸、ベヘン酸、リグノセリン酸、カプリン酸、ペラルゴン酸、カプリル酸、エナント酸、カプロン酸、オレイン酸、バクセン酸、リノール酸、リノレン酸、ネルボン酸等の飽和脂肪酸及び不飽和脂肪酸並びにロジン酸や変性ロジン酸等の樹脂酸などの有機酸、前記飽和脂肪酸及び前記不飽和脂肪酸並びに樹脂酸のエステルなどが挙げられる。
本発明においては、加硫促進助剤としての機能を十分に発揮する必要があることから有機酸化合物中の50モル%以上がステアリン酸であることが好ましい。
また、ゴム成分(A)の一部又は全部として乳化重合スチレン-ブタジエン共重合体又は天然ゴムを用いる場合は、有機酸化合物中の50モル%以上が乳化重合スチレン-ブタジエン共重合体又は天然ゴムに含まれるロジン酸(変性ロジン酸も包含される。)及び/又は脂肪酸であることが好ましい。
本発明に係るゴム組成物の製造方法は、アミノ酸誘導体(B)を第一練り段階、中間練り段階又は最終練り段階のいずれの段階において加えてもよいが、ゴム成分(A)と、アミノ酸誘導体(B)と、無機充填材(C)を含む充填材とを含むゴム組成物の製造方法であって、少なくとも、前記ゴム成分(A)と、前記アミノ酸誘導体(B)と、前記無機充填材(C)の全部又は一部とを混練する第一練り段階と、前記第一練り段階の後に、硫黄及び硫黄化合物から選択される少なくとも1種を加えて混練する最終練り段階とを有することが好ましい。上記アミノ酸誘導体(B)は、前述した一般式(Ia)、(Ib)及び(Ic)から選択される少なくとも1種を用いることが好ましい。
ここで、硫黄及び硫黄化合物から選択される少なくとも1種は、加硫剤であり、この加硫剤と一緒に前記にて説明した加硫促進剤なども必要に応じて添加して混練することができる。なお、本発明における混練の第一段階とは、ゴム成分(A)と、アミノ酸誘導体(B)と、無機充填剤(C)を含む充填剤を混練する最初の段階をいい、最初の段階でゴム成分(A)と無機充填材(C)以外の充填材とを混練する場合やゴム成分(A)のみを予備練りする場合の段階は含まれない。
本発明の製造方法の第一練り段階におけるゴム組成物の最高温度は、120~190℃であることが好ましく、120~175℃であることがより好ましく、130~175℃であることがさらに好ましい。120~190℃の範囲であれば、無機充填材(C)の分散性を好ましく向上することができ、後述する無機充填材(C)及びシランカップリング剤(D)を含有するゴム組成物においては、シランカップリング剤(D)とゴム成分(A)との反応をより好適に進行させることができるからである。
混練の第一段階の混練時間は、10秒から20分であることが好ましく、10秒から10分であることが好ましく、30秒から5分であることが好ましい。
なお、上述の第一練り段階は、実施形態におけるマスターバッチ練り段階に相当する。マスターバッチ練り段階と最終練り段階との間に、主としてマスターバッチの粘度を下げる目的で、中間練り段階が設けられてもよい。
本発明において、第一段階、中間段階などの最終段階より前の混練段階とは、ゴム成分、無機充填剤、酸性化合物、カップリング剤などの、硫黄及び硫黄化合物から選択される少なくとも1種を含む加硫系薬品(加硫剤や加硫促進剤)以外の原材料を配合し、混練する工程であり、無機充填剤のゴム組成物への分散を行い、ゴム成分を補強する為の工程である。本件では第一段階にて該アミノ酸誘導体(B)を配合することにより無機充填剤のゴム組成物への分散をより良好にすることを特徴としたものである。なお、中間段階でゴム成分や充填剤等を配合し、混練してもよい。
第一段階より後、かつ最終段階より前の中間段階を含む際には、中間混練段階におけるゴム組成物の最高温度は120~190℃であることが好ましく、130~175℃であることがより好ましく、140~170℃であることがさらに好ましい。なお、混練時間は10秒から20分であることが好ましく、10秒から10分であることがより好ましく、30秒から5分であることがさらに好ましい。なお、中間段階を含む際には、第一段階の混練段階後、ゴム組成物の温度を前段階の混練終了後の温度より10℃以上低下させてから次の段階へ進むことが好ましい。
また、混練の最終段階とは、硫黄及び硫黄化合物から選択される少なくとも1種を含む加硫系薬品(加硫剤、加硫促進剤)を配合し、混練する工程をいう。この最終段階におけるゴム組成物の最高温度は60~140℃であることが好ましく、80~120℃であることがより好ましく、100~120℃であることがさらに好ましい。なお、混練時間は10秒から20分であることが好ましく、10秒から10分であることがより好ましく、20秒から5分であることがさらに好ましい。
第一段階、中間段階から最終段階に進む際には、ゴム組成物の温度を前段階の混練終了後の温度より10℃以上低下させてから次の段階へ進むことが好ましい。
例えば、第一練り段階(すなわち、マスターバッチ練り段階)において、第1マスターバッチ練り段階として、ゴム成分(A)、無機充填材(C)の全部又は一部、及びシランカップリング剤(D)の全部又は一部を混練し、自然冷却して養生の後、第2マスターバッチ練り段階として、アミノ酸誘導体(B)を加えて、更に混練してもよい。
[評価方法]
<加硫速度>
東洋精機(株)製のロータレスレオメーターRLR-3型を用いて、一定振幅の振動を与え試料の変形によって発生して上ダイスに伝わるトルクの時間的変化を自動的に記録することにより、t0.9=90%加硫時間(min)={(最大トルク-最小トルク)×0.9+最小トルク}となる時間(min)を指数化したものを加硫速度の指標として用いた。指数値が小さい程、加硫促進効果が高いことを示す。
<低発熱性(tanδ指数)>
粘弾性測定装置(レオメトリックス社製)を使用し、温度60℃、動歪5%、周波数15Hzでtanδを測定した。比較例1のtanδの逆数を100として下記式にて指数表示した。指数値が大きい程、低発熱性であり、ヒステリシスロスが小さいことを示す。

<実施例1~7,比較例1,2>
実施例1~7のゴム組成物の混練の第一練り段階において、バンバリーミキサーにて、ゴム成分(A)、無機充填材(C)の全部、及びシランカップリング剤(D)、カーボンブラック、アロマティックオイル、ステアリン酸、老化防止剤6PPDを混練した。次に、混練の最終練り段階において、第1表に記載の配合剤を加えて混練し、混練の最終練り段階におけるゴム組成物の最高温度が110℃になるように調整した。
これら9種類のゴム組成物から得られた加硫ゴム組成物の加硫速度を評価した。結果を第1表に示す。

*6: 2,2,4-トリメチル-1,2-ジヒドロキノリン重合体、大内新興化学工業株式会社製、商品名「ノクラック224」
*7: N-(1,3-ジメチルブチル)-N’-フェニル-p-フェニレンジアミン、大内新興化学工業株式会社製、商品名「ノクラック6C」
*8: ジ-2-ベンゾチアゾリルジスルフィド、三新化学工業株式会社製、商品名「サンセラーDM」
*9: N-tert-ブチル-2-ベンゾチアゾリルスルフェンアミド、三新化学工業株式会社製、商品名「サンセラーNS」
*10: アミノ酸誘導体(B)の、上記一般式(Ia)に含まれる化合物であって、Raはグアニジルプロピル基であり、Rdはナトリウムである化合物である。
*11: アミノ酸誘導体(B)の、上記化合物(Ia)に含まれる化合物であって、Raはメルカプトメチレンであり、Rdはナトリウムである化合物である。
実施例8~18のゴム組成物の混練の第一練り段階において、バンバリーミキサーにて、ゴム成分(A)、無機充填材(C)の全部、及びシランカップリング剤(D)、カーボンブラック、アロマティックオイル、ステアリン酸、老化防止剤6PPDを混練した後、60秒後に、前記一般式(Ic)で示される各種アミノ酸誘導体(B)を加えて更に混練した。混練の第一練り段階におけるゴム組成物の最高温度が150℃になるように調整した。次に、混練の最終練り段階において、第1表に記載の配合剤を加えて混練し、混練の最終練り段階におけるゴム組成物の最高温度が110℃になるように調整した。比較例3及び4においては、混練の第一練り段階でアミノ酸誘導体(B)を加えなかった以外は実施例1~11と同様に混練した。また、比較例5では、実施例のアミノ酸誘導体(B)に変えて、システインを用いた以外は、実施例8~18と同様に実施した。
これら14種類のゴム組成物から得られた加硫ゴム組成物の低発熱性(tanδ指数)を評価した。結果を第2表に示す。

第2表から明らかなように、実施例8~18のゴム組成物は、比較例3~5の対比すべきゴム組成物と比較して、いずれも低発熱性(tanδ指数)が良好であった。
また、本発明のゴム組成物は、充填材の分散性が向上して低発熱性に優れ、更にはシランカップリング剤のカップリング機能の活性低減を好適に抑制し、カップリング機能の活性をさらに高めて、低発熱性に特に優れるので、乗用車用、小型トラック用、軽乗用車用、軽トラック用及び大型車両用(トラック・バス用、建設車両用等)等の各種空気入りタイヤ(特に、空気入りラジアルタイヤ)の各部材、特に空気入りタイヤのトレッド用部材として好適に用いられる。
Claims (6)
- ゴム成分(A)と、アミノ酸誘導体(B)と、無機充填材(C)を含む充填材を配合してなるゴム組成物であって、かつ、硫黄及び硫黄化合物から選択される少なくとも1種を配合してなるゴム組成物。
- 前記アミノ酸誘導体(B)が下記一般式(Ia)、(Ib)及び(Ic)から選択される少なくとも1種である請求項1に記載のゴム組成物。
- ゴム成分(A)と、アミノ酸誘導体(B)と、無機充填材(C)を含む充填材とを含むゴム組成物の製造方法であって、
少なくとも、前記ゴム成分(A)と、アミノ酸誘導体(B)と、前記無機充填材(C)の全部又は一部とを混練する第一練り段階と、
前記第一練り段階の後に、硫黄及び硫黄化合物から選択される少なくとも1種を加えて混練する最終練り段階と
を有するゴム組成物の製造方法。 - 前記アミノ酸誘導体(B)が下記一般式(Ia)、(Ib)及び(Ic)から選択される少なくとも1種である請求項3に記載のゴム組成物の製造方法。
- 前記第一練り段階において、前記ゴム成分(A)、前記無機充填材(C)の全部又は一部を混練した後に、前記アミノ酸誘導体(B)を加えて、更に混練する請求項3又は4に記載のゴム組成物の製造方法。
- 前記アミノ酸誘導体(B)が前記一般式(Ic)である請求項3~5のいずれかに記載のゴム組成物の製造方法。
