Abstract
Description
このバーコード状のデータであるBCAコードは、間隔が異なる複数のバーで構成されるデータであり、BCAデータを所定のデータ変換により変換したデータである。BCAデータは、BCAコードの元データであり、連続番号や識別番号などからなる個別情報である。
なお、発明者は、当業者が本開示を十分に理解するために添付図面及び以下の説明を提供するのであって、これらによって特許請求の範囲に記載の主題を限定することを意図するものではない。
(実施の形態1)
多層膜構造の光ディスクの製造においては、光ディスクの初期化と同時に、識別情報であるバーコード状のBCAコードを記録する。従来、バーコード状のBCAコードの端部の半径位置を周方向に沿って揃えて形成するために、レーザ光の半径方向の移動を一度停止させる方法がある。このとき、基板に近い奥側の記録層にフォーカス引き込みをしてBCAコードを記録する場合、基板から離れた手前側の記録層膜にもレーザ光が通過し、その一部は熱エネルギとして記録層膜に吸収され加熱される。レーザ光が停止した領域ではレーザ光通過回数が増加することにより長時間加熱され高温になるため、基板から離れた手前側の記録層膜も、フォーカス引き込みがなされていないにもかかわらず初期化されてしまう。この結果、奥側及び手前側の両方の記録層から反射光が返り、フォーカス誤差信号が乱れるため、フォーカス制御が困難となりフォーカス外れが発生しやすい。これにより、光ディスクの初期化工程が適切に行えず、光ディスクの製造の歩留りを悪化させる。
なお、以下においては、片面2層書き換え型光ディスクを例として、その初期化を行う光ディスク初期化装置及び初期化方法について説明する。
以下、図1~9を用いて、実施の形態1を説明する。
[1-1. 構成]
[1-1-1. 光ディスクの構成]
図1は、光ディスク101の概略構成図である。光ディスク101は、ブルーレイディスク等であり、基板102と、基板表面103と、第1記録層104と、光学分離層105と、光学分離層表面106と、第2記録層107と、光透過層108と、を有する。
基板102は、ポリカーボネート、PMMA等の樹脂板、ガラス板等からなる。基板表面103は、スパイラルまたは同心円状の連続溝等で覆われている。
基板102の上(レーザ光入射側)には、第1記録層104がスパッタリング法、電子ビーム蒸着法等により形成される。
第2記録層107の上には光透過層108が形成される。光透過層108は紫外線硬化樹脂等からなる層をスピンコートによって形成する方法や、粘着テープまたは紫外線硬化樹脂等により透明フィルムを第2記録層107の上に接着する方法等により形成される。
[1-1-2. 光ディスク初期化装置の構成]
図3は、本実施の形態における光ディスク初期化装置200(光ディスク製造装置の一例)の概略全体構成図である。
スピンドルモータ202は、ターンテーブル201に結合される。スピンドルモータ202は、ターンテーブル201に取り付けられた光ディスク101を、ヘッド送り機構208の半径位置情報に基づき所定の回転制御方式により回転させる。回転制御方式は、例えば、光ディスク101とレーザ光の円周方向相対移動速度が一定になるように回転数を制御する線速度一定モード(CLV;Constant Linear Velocity)や、ヘッド送り機構208の半径位置が変化しても一定回転数で回転する角速度一定モード(CAV;Constant Angular Velocity)で回転する。
制御部209は、スピンドルモータ202の回転速度、ヘッド送り機構208の送り速度、光ピックアップ203のフォーカシング、初期化用レーザ照射、BCAコード記録用レーザ照射等を制御する。制御部209は、例えば、プロセッサやメモリを含む装置や集積回路等であり、メモリに格納されたプログラムを実行する汎用のDSPやFPGA等により実現される。
[1-1-3. 第1記録層の構成]
図4は、本実施の形態の第1記録層104の平面図である。R1、R2a、R2、R3、R3a、及びR4は、初期化工程において光ピックアップ203の半径方向の移動速度(以下、送り速度と称する)に関係する第1記録層104の中心からの距離、つまり半径位置を示す。R1は、第1記録層104の中心から内周初期化領域109の内側端までの距離を示しており、初期化開始位置である。R2は、第1記録層104の中心から内周初期化領域109の外側端すなわち、BCA110の内側端までの距離を示しており、BCAコード記録開始位置である。R3は、第1記録層104の中心からBCA110の外側端までの距離を示しており、BCAコード記録終了位置である。R4は、第1記録層104の中心から外周初期化領域111の外側までの距離を示しており、初期化終了位置である。
[1-1-4. 光ピックアップの送り速度]
図5は、第1記録層104の初期化時のレーザ光半径位置に対する、光ピックアップ203の送り速度(図5(a))、及びレーザパワー(図5(b))を示す。なお、本図では、実際には速度変更には一定の加減速時間が必要であるが、説明を簡単にするため光ピックアップ203の送り速度変更時の加減速時間は0として簡略化して記している。
(1)初期化開始位置R1から減速送り開始位置R2a(第1の半径位置の一例)までは初期化用送り速度Vi(第1の速度の一例)に設定する。
(2)減速送り開始位置R2aからBCAコード記録開始位置R2(第2の半径位置の一例)までは減速送り速度Vs(>0μm/回転)(第2の速度の一例)に設定する。減速送り速度Vsは、R2a-R2間において光ピックアップ203が減速送り速度Vsで移動する間に光ディスク101が少なくとも一回転以上回転するように設定される。
(3)BCAコード記録開始位置R2からBCAコード記録終了位置R3(第3の半径位置の一例)まではBCAコード記録用送り速度に設定する。本実施の形態では、BCAコード記録用送り速度=初期化用送り速度Vi(第3の速度の一例)に設定する。
(4)BCAコード記録終了位置R3から減速送り終了位置R3a(第4の半径位置の一例)までは減速送り速度Vs(第4の速度の一例)に設定する。減速送り速度Vsは、R3-R3a間において光ピックアップ203が減速送り速度Vsで移動する間に光ディスク101が少なくとも一回転以上回転するように設定される。
(5)減速送り終了位置R3aから初期化終了位置R4までは初期化用送り速度Vi(第5の速度の一例)に設定する。
[1-1-5. レーザパワー]
また図5(b)に示すように、レーザパワーは、次のように設定する。
(1)初期化開始位置R1からBCAコード記録開始位置R2までの内周初期化領域、及び、BCAコード記録終了位置R3から初期化終了位置R4までの外周初期化領域では、初期化用レーザパワーPa(第1のパワーの一例)に設定する。
(2)BCAコード記録開始位置R2からBCAコード記録終了位置R3までは、BCAコード記録のためパルス照射する。PbはBCAコードの未初期化部となる部分に対するレーザパワー(第2のパワーの一例)であり、ディスクの記録感度等により最適な値に設定する。
[1-2. 動作]
[1-2-1. 初期化工程における動作]
図6A及び図6Bは、本実施の形態における光ディスク初期化装置200の初期化動作を示すフローチャートである。同初期化動作により第1記録層104の初期化工程が行なわれる。
ステップS502:次に、制御部209の指令によりヘッド送り機構208を駆動して、光ピックアップ203を初期化開始位置R1まで移動する。
ステップS504:制御部209によりレーザパワーをフォーカス引込み用パワーに設定し、レーザ光源204を駆動してレーザ光照射を開始する。
ステップS505:第1記録層104へのフォーカス引込みを開始する。フォーカス引込みに成功すればフォーカスサーボを開始し、初期化が終了するまで継続する。
ステップS507:光ピックアップ203が送り速度Viで移動する間、レーザパワーを初期化用レーザパワーPaに設定し、レーザ照射する。
ステップS508:次に、制御部209により、光ピックアップ203の半径位置が減速送り開始位置R2aに達したかどうかを判定される。
ステップS511:ステップS511において光ピックアップ203の半径位置がBCAコード記録開始位置R2に達したと判定された場合は、制御部209は、レーザ照射パワーをBCAコード記録用パワーに変更、すなわちパルス照射する。
ステップS513:次に、制御部209により、光ピックアップ203の半径位置がBCAコード記録終了位置R3に達したかどうか判定される。
ステップS514:ステップS513において光ピックアップ203の半径位置がBCAコード記録終了位置R3に達したと判定された場合は、制御部209は、光ピックアップ203の送り速度を減速送り速度Vsに減速する。
ステップS516:次に、制御部209により、光ピックアップ203の半径位置が減速送り終了位置R3aに達したどうか判定される。
ステップS517:ステップS516において光ピックアップ203の半径位置が減速送り終了位置R3aに達したと判定された場合は、制御部209は、光ピックアップ203の送り速度を初期化用送り速度Viに変更する。なお、R3aの位置は、R3-R3a間において光ピックアップ203が減速送り速度Vsで移動する間に光ディスク101が少なくとも一回転以上回転するような位置に設定される。
ステップS519:ステップS518において光ピックアップ203の半径位置が初期化終了位置R4に達したと判定された場合は、制御部209は、フォーカスサーボを停止する。
ステップS521:制御部209は、ヘッド送り機構208の駆動を停止して、光ピックアップ203の半径方向の移動を停止させる。
以上の一連の動作により第1記録層104の初期化を実行する。この初期化工程の後、制御部209により光ピックアップ203を最内周に移動させ、第1記録層104と同様の手順で第2記録層107を初期化する。第2記録層107にはBCAを設けていない。従って、設定された第2記録層初期化開始位置から第2記録層初期化終了位置までの領域全体を初期化工程のために設定されたレーザパワー、スピンドル回転速度、半径送り速度で初期化工程を実行する。
[1-2-2. 初期化による効果]
図7は本実施の形態に係る初期化による光ディスクの初期化領域とBCAコード記録領域の境界の記録状態を示す図である。なお、本図は、本実施の形態にて初期化及びBCA記録したディスクの周方向を直線状に表し、半径方向尺度を拡大した図である。
[1-3. 効果等]
本実施の形態では、相変化光ディスク101であり、同光ディスクの識別情報を記録するBCA110と、BCA110の半径方向内側に配される内周側領域109と、BCA110の半径方向外側に配される外周側領域111とを含む一以上の記録層を有する光ディスク101の初期化を行う、光ディスク初期化装置200であって、光ディスク101の第1記録層104及び第2記録層107に対しレーザ光を照射する光ピックアップ203と、同光ピックアップ203を光ディスク101の半径方向に移動させるヘッド送り機構208と、光ディスク101を回転させるスピンドルモータ202と、光ピックアップ203、ヘッド送り機構208、及びスピンドルモータ202を制御する制御部209とを備える。同光ディスク初期化装置200においては、制御部209の指令に応じて、スピンドルモータ202により光ディスク101を回転させつつ、光ピックアップ203により第1記録層104が結晶化するのに必要なパワーPaでレーザ光を同記録層に照射する。ヘッド送り機構208は、(i)光ピックアップ203が光ディスク101の内周側領域109の位置からBCA110の位置に移動する間における半径位置R2aにおいて、光ピックアップ203の送り速度をViからVsに減速し、(ii)光ピックアップ203がVsの速度でBCA110の位置に至った半径位置R2において、光ピックアップ203の送り速度をVsからViに戻す。光ピックアップ203は、BCA110を移動するとき、レーザパワーPaと第1記録層104を結晶化させない程度に低いレーザパワーPbとを交互に切り換えながらレーザ光を照射することにより、BCAコードを記録する。
(その他の実施形態)
以上のように、本開示における技術の例示として、実施の形態を説明した。そのために、添付図面及び詳細な説明を提供した。
また、上記実施の形態におけるBCAコードは一例に過ぎず、他の例による識別情報であってもよい。また、BCAは、レーザ光入射側から最も遠い第1記録層に形成されることに限定されず、最も近い記録層に形成されていてもよいし、複数の記録層間の中間位置にある記録層に形成されてもよい。

Claims (12)
- 相変化光ディスクであり、前記光ディスクの識別情報記録領域と、前記識別情報記録領域の半径方向内側に配される内周側領域と、前記識別情報記録領域の半径方向外側に配される外周側領域とを含む一以上の記録層を有する光ディスクを製造する、光ディスク製造装置であって、
前記光ディスクの前記記録層に対しレーザ光を照射するレーザ光照射部と、
前記レーザ照射部を前記光ディスクの半径方向に移動させる移動機構と、
前記光ディスクを回転させる回転機構と、
前記レーザ照射部、前記移動機構及び前記回転機構を制御する制御部と、
を備え、
前記制御部の指令に応じて、
前記回転機構により前記光ディスクを回転させつつ、前記レーザ照射部により前記記録層が結晶化するのに必要な第1のパワーでレーザ光を同記録層に照射し、
前記移動機構は、(i)前記レーザ照射部が前記光ディスクの前記内周側領域の位置から前記識別情報記録領域の位置に移動する間における第1の半径位置において、前記レーザ照射部の移動速度を第1の速度から第2の速度に変更し、(ii)前記レーザ照射部が前記第2の速度で前記識別情報記録領域の位置に至った第2の半径位置において、前記レーザ照射部の移動速度を前記第2の速度から第3の速度に変更し、
前記第2の速度は、前記第1の速度及び前記第3の速度よりも遅く設定され、
前記レーザ照射部は、前記識別情報記録領域を移動するとき、前記第1のパワーと前記記録層を結晶化させない程度に低い第2のパワーとを交互に切り換えながらレーザ光を照射することにより、前記識別情報を記録する、
光ディスク製造装置。 - 前記第1の半径位置及び前記第2の速度のうち少なくとも一方は、前記レーザ照射部が前記第2の速度で前記第1の半径位置から前記第2の半径位置に移動する間に前記回転機構が前記光ディスクを少なくとも1回転させるように、設定されている、
請求項1に記載の光ディスク製造装置。 - 前記制御部の指令に応じて、
前記移動機構は更に、(i)前記レーザ照射部が前記識別情報記録領域の位置から前記外周側領域の位置に至った第3の半径位置において、前記レーザ照射部の移動速度を前記第3の速度から第4の速度に変更し、(ii)前記レーザ照射部が前記第4の速度で前記外周側領域を移動する間における第4の半径位置において、前記レーザ照射部の移動速度を前記第4の速度から第5の速度に変更し、
前記第4の速度は、前記第1の速度、前記第3の速度及び前記第5の速度よりも遅く設定される、
請求項1又は2に記載の光ディスク製造装置。 - 前記第4の半径位置及び前記第4の速度のうち少なくとも一方は、前記レーザ照射部が前記第4の速度で前記第3の半径位置から前記第4の半径位置に移動する間に前記回転機構が前記光ディスクを少なくとも1回転させるように、設定されている、
請求項3に記載の光ディスク製造装置。 - 前記光ディスクは、複数の記録層を有し、
前記レーザ照射部は、前記複数の記録層のうち、レーザ光照射側から最も遠い位置にある第1の記録層に前記識別情報を記録する、
請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の光ディスク製造装置。 - 前記第1の速度、前記第3の速度、及び前記第5の速度は同じ速度に設定され、

前記光ディスクの前記内周側領域の内側端に対して、フォーカス引き込みのための第3のパワーで前記レーザ照射部によりレーザ光を照射し、
前記フォーカス引き込み後、フォーカスサーボを開始し、
前記フォーカスサーボを行いつつ、前記レーザ照射部により前記内周側領域に対して前記第1のパワーによるレーザ光の照射を開始する、
請求項1から6のいずれかに記載の光ディスク製造装置。
- 相変化光ディスクであり、前記光ディスクの識別情報記録領域と、前記識別情報記録領域の半径方向内側に配される内周側領域と、前記識別情報記録領域の半径方向外側に配される外周側領域とを含む一以上の記録層を有する光ディスクを製造する、光ディスク製造方法であって、
回転機構により前記光ディスクを回転させつつ、前記記録層が結晶化するのに必要な第1のパワーでレーザ光を同記録層に照射し、
移動機構により前記光ディスクの半径方向にレーザ光を移動させ、
前記移動機構によりレーザ光が前記光ディスクの前記内周側領域の位置から前記識別情報記録領域の位置に移動する間における第1の半径位置において、レーザ光の移動速度を第1の速度から前記第1の速度よりも遅い第2の速度に変更し、
前記移動機構によりレーザ光が前記第2の速度で前記識別情報記録領域に至った第2の半径位置において、レーザ光の移動速度を前記第2の速度から前記第2の速度よりも速い第3の速度に変更し、
前記移動機構によりレーザ光が前記識別情報記録領域を移動するとき、第1のパワーと前記記録層を結晶化させない程度に低い第2のパワーとを交互に切り換えながらレーザ光を照射することにより、前記識別情報を記録する、
光ディスク製造方法。 - 前記移動機構によりレーザ光が前記第2の速度で前記第1の半径位置から前記第2の半径位置に移動する間に、前記回転機構により前記光ディスクを少なくとも1回転させる、

前記移動機構によりレーザ光が前記第4の速度で前記外周側領域を移動する間における第4の半径位置において、レーザ光の移動速度を前記第4の速度から、前記第2の速度及び前記第4の速度よりも速い第5の速度に変更する、
請求項8又は9に記載の光ディスク製造方法。 - 前記移動機構によりレーザ光が前記第4の速度で前記第3の半径位置から前記第4の半径位置に移動する間に、前記回転機構により前記光ディスクを少なくとも1回転させる、

前記光ディスクの前記内周側領域の内側端に対して、フォーカス引き込みのための第3のパワーでレーザ光を照射し、
前記フォーカス引き込み後、フォーカスサーボを開始し、
前記フォーカスサーボを行いつつ、前記内周側領域に対して前記第1のパワーによるレーザ光の照射を開始する、
請求項8から11のいずれかに記載の光ディスク製造方法。
