Abstract

Description
この発明はイオン発生装置およびそれを用いた電気機器に関し、特に、複数の針電極を備え、イオンを発生するイオン発生装置と、それを用いた電気機器に関する。
従来より、イオン発生装置は、基板と、2組の誘導電極および針電極を備える。各誘導電極は、環状に形成され、基板の表面に搭載される。各針電極の基端部は基板に設けられ、その先端部は対応の誘導電極の中央部に配置される。一方の組の針電極と誘導電極の間に正の高電圧を印加すると、針電極の先端部でコロナ放電が発生し、正イオンが発生する。他方の組の針電極と誘導電極の間に負の高電圧を印加すると、針電極の先端部でコロナ放電が発生し、負イオンが発生する。発生した正イオンと負イオンは、送風機によって室内に送出され、空気中に浮遊するカビ菌やウィルスを取り囲み、それらを分解する(たとえば、特開2010-044917号公報(特許文献1)参照)。
ところで、2組の誘導電極および針電極を搭載した基板と、正の高電圧と負の高電圧を印加する電源とを1つの筐体に収容してイオン発生装置を製品化する場合、2本の針電極の先端部で発生した正イオンおよび負イオンを筐体外に効率良く放出する必要がある。また、針電極の先端部などに触れてユーザーが指などに怪我をすることを防止する必要もある。
それゆえに、この発明の主たる目的は、イオンを効率良く発生することが可能で安全なイオン発生装置と、それを用いた電気機器を提供することである。
この発明に係るイオン発生装置は、複数の針電極を備え、イオンを発生するイオン発生装置において、複数の針電極を搭載した基板と、基板を収容した筐体とを備えたものである。複数の針電極の先端部は、Z方向に向けられてX方向に配列され、筐体から突出している。このイオン発生装置は、さらに、複数の針電極の先端部を覆う保護カバーを備える。この保護カバーには、Z方向からそれぞれ複数の針電極の先端が見えるように複数の第1の孔が開けられるとともに、Y方向から複数の針電極が見えるように第1の開口部が設けられている。
したがって、複数の針電極の先端部が筐体から突出しているので、針電極の先端部で発生したイオンを筐体外に効率良く放出することができる。また、複数の針電極の先端部を覆う保護カバーを設けたので、針電極の先端部に触れてユーザーが指などに怪我をすることを防止することができる。
また、Z方向からそれぞれ複数の針電極の先端が見えるように保護カバーに複数の第1の孔を開けたので、各針電極の先端部の周辺に発生する電界が保護カバーで阻害されてイオン発生量が減少するのを防止することができる。また、Y方向から複数の針電極が見えるように保護カバーに第1の開口部を設けたので、Y方向に風を送ることにより、イオンを効率良く送出することができる。

[実施の形態1]
図1(a)は本発明の実施の形態1によるイオン発生装置の上面図であり、図1(b)は図1(a)のA-A線断面図である。図2はイオン発生装置の斜視図であり、図3は図2に示したイオン発生装置から蓋部材11および保護カバー12を外した状態を示す斜視図である。

図1~図3において、このイオン発生装置は、正イオンを発生するための針電極1と、負イオンを発生するための針電極2と、針電極1との間に電界を形成するための環状の誘導電極3と、針電極2との間に電界を形成するための環状の誘導電極4と、2枚の長方形状のプリント基板5,6とを備える。
プリント基板5,6は、所定の間隔を開けて図1(b)中の上下に平行に配置されている。誘導電極3は、プリント基板5の長手方向の一方端部の表面に、プリント基板5の配線層を用いて形成されている。誘導電極3の内側には、プリント基板5を貫通する孔5aが開口されている。また、誘導電極4は、プリント基板5の長手方向の他方端部の表面に、プリント基板5の配線層を用いて形成されている。誘導電極4の内側には、プリント基板5を貫通する孔5bが開口されている。
針電極1,2の各々は、プリント基板5,6に対して垂直に設けられている。すなわち、針電極1の基端部はプリント基板6の孔に挿嵌されており、その先端部はプリント基板5の孔5aの中心を貫通している。また、針電極2の基端部はプリント基板6の孔に挿嵌されており、その先端部はプリント基板5の孔5bの中心を貫通している。針電極1,2の各々の基端部は、半田によってプリント基板5に固定されている。針電極1,2の各々の先端部は、鋭く尖っている。
また、このイオン発生装置は、プリント基板5,6よりも若干大きな長方形の開口部を有する直方体状の筐体10と、筐体10の開口部を閉じる蓋部材11と、針電極1,2の先端部を覆う保護カバー12と、回路基板16と、回路部品17と、トランス18とを備える。
筐体10は、絶縁性の樹脂で形成されている。筐体10の下部は上部よりも若干小さく形成されており、筐体10の内壁において筐体10の上部と下部の境界には段差が形成されている。また、筐体10の下部は、仕切り板10aによって長手方向に2分割されている。トランス18は、仕切り板10aの一方側の底に収容されている。回路基板16は、仕切り板10aの他方側の空間を閉じるように、仕切り板10aと段差の上に設けられている。回路部品17は、回路基板16の下面に搭載され、仕切り板10aの他方側の空間に収容されている。
プリント基板5,6は、筐体10の上部に水平に収容されている。回路基板163とトランス18とプリント基板5,6とが配線によって電気的に接続されている。筐体10内の高電圧部には、絶縁用の樹脂19が充填されている。樹脂19は、プリント基板6の下面まで充填されている。なお、本実施の形態1では、トランス18の1次側に接続されている回路部品17は樹脂19によって絶縁する必要がないので、仕切り板10aの他方側の空間には樹脂19を充填していない。
蓋部材11は、絶縁性の樹脂で形成されている。筐体10の内壁の上端部には溝が形成されており、蓋部材11の長手方向の両端には筐体10の溝に挿入される係止部が突設されている。また、蓋部材11の下面には、孔5aおよび針電極1に対応する位置に円筒状のボス11aが形成されている。また、蓋部材11の下面には、孔5bおよび針電極2に対応する位置に円筒状のボス11bが形成されている。
ボス11a,11bの内径は、それぞれ針電極1,2の外径よりも大きい。また、ボス11a,11bの外径は、それぞれプリント基板5の孔5a,5bの内径よりも小さい。ボス11a,11bは、それぞれプリント基板5の孔5a,5bを貫通している。ボス11a,11bの先端面(下端面)とプリント基板6の表面との間には、わずかな隙間が形成される。針電極1,2はそれぞれボス11a,11bを貫通しており、針電極1,2の先端部は蓋部材11の上に10mm程度突出している。
保護カバー12は、絶縁性の樹脂を用いて蓋部材11と一体的に形成されている。保護カバー12は、天板13と支持部材14,15を含む。天板13は、蓋部材11の上面に対向して設けられている。天板13の長手方向の両端は、それぞれ支持部材14,15によって蓋部材11の上面に固定されている。天板13のうちの針電極1,2の中心線と交差する位置には、それぞれ孔13a,13bが開けられている。孔13a,13bの各々の内径は、約6mmである。天板13の下面と、針電極1,2の先端とは、ほぼ同一面か若干の隙間ができる程度にされている。
すなわち、プリント基板6の長辺の方向をX方向とし、プリント基板6の短辺の方向をY方向とし、プリント基板6の表面に垂直な方向をZ方向とすると、2本の針電極1,2はZ方向に向けられてX方向に配列され、筐体10および蓋部材11から突出している。また、保護カバー12には、Z方向からそれぞれ2本の針電極1,2の先端が見えるように2つの孔13a,13bが開けられるとともに、Y方向から針電極1,2が見えるように開口部が設けられている。
図4は、イオン発生装置の構成を示す回路図である。図4において、イオン発生装置は、針電極1,2および誘導電極3,4の他に、電源端子T1、接地端子T2、ダイオード20,24,28,32,33、抵抗素子21~23,25、NPNバイポーラトランジスタ26、昇圧トランス27,31、コンデンサ29、および2端子サイリスタ30を備える。図4の回路のうちの針電極1,2および誘導電極3,4以外の部分は、図1では回路基板16、回路部品17、およびトランス18などで構成されている。
電源端子T1および接地端子T2には、それぞれ直流電源の正極および負極が接続される。電源端子T1には直流電源電圧(たとえば+12Vまたは+15V)が印加され、接地端子T2は接地される。ダイオード20および抵抗素子21~23は、電源端子T1とトランジスタ26のベースとの間に直列接続される。トランジスタ26のエミッタは接地端子T2に接続される。ダイオード24は、接地端子T2とトランジスタ26のベースとの間に接続される。
ダイオード20は、直流電源の正極および負極が端子T1,T2に逆に接続された場合に電流を遮断して直流電源を保護するための素子である。抵抗素子21,22は、昇圧動作を制限するための素子である。抵抗素子23は、起動抵抗素子である。ダイオード24は、トランジスタ26の逆耐圧保護素子として動作する。
昇圧トランス27は、1次巻線27a、ベース巻線27b、および2次巻線27cを含む。1次巻線27aの一方端子は抵抗素子22,23間のノードN22に接続され、その他方端子はトランジスタ26のコレクタに接続される。ベース巻線27bの一方端子は抵抗素子25を介してトランジスタ26のベースに接続され、その他方端子は接地端子T2に接続される。2次巻線27cの一方端子はトランジスタ26のベースに接続され、その他方端子はダイオード28およびコンデンサ29を介して接地端子T2に接続される。
昇圧トランス31は、1次巻線31aおよび2次巻線31bを含む。2端子サイリスタ30は、ダイオード28のカソードと1次巻線31aの一方端子との間に接続される。1次巻線31aの他方端子は接地端子T2に接続される。2次巻線31bの一方端子は誘導電極3,4に接続され、その他方端子はダイオード32のアノードおよびダイオード33のカソードに接続される。ダイオード32のカソードは針電極1の基端部に接続され、ダイオード33のアノードは針電極2の基端部に接続される。
抵抗素子25は、ベース電流を制限するための素子である。2端子サイリスタ30は、端子間電圧がブレークオーバー電圧に到達すると導通状態になり、電流が最小保持電流以下になると非導通になる素子である。
次に、このイオン発生装置の動作について説明する。コンデンサ29は、RCC方式スイッチング電源動作により充電される。すなわち、電源端子T1および接地端子T2間に直流電源電圧が印加されると、電源端子T1からダイオード20および抵抗素子21~23を介してトランジスタ26のベースに電流が流れてトランジスタ26が導通状態となる。これにより、昇圧トランス27の1次巻線27aに電流が流れ、ベース巻線27bの端子間に電圧が発生する。
ベース巻線27bの巻線方向は、トランジスタ26が導通状態になるとトランジスタ26をベース電圧をさらに上昇させるように設定されている。このため、ベース巻線27bの端子間に発生した電圧は正帰還状態でトランジスタ26の導通抵抗値を低下させる。このとき、ダイオード28によって通電が阻止されるように、2次巻線27cの巻線方向が設定されており、2次巻線27cには電流が流れない。
このようにして1次巻線27aおよびトランジスタ26に流れる電流が増加し続けることにより、トランジスタ26のコレクタ電圧は飽和領域から外れて上昇する。これにより、1次巻線27aの端子間電圧が低下してベース巻線27bの端子間電圧も低下し、トランジスタ26のコレクタ電圧はさらに上昇する。このため、正帰還状態で動作して急速にトランジスタ26が非導通状態になる。このとき、2次巻線27cはダイオード28の導通方向に電圧を発生する。これにより、コンデンサ29が充電される。
コンデンサ29の端子間電圧が上昇して2端子サイリスタ30のブレークオーバー電圧に到達すると、2端子サイリスタ30はツェナーダイオードのように動作してさらに電流を流す。2端子サイリスタ30に流れる電流がブレークオーバー電流に到達すると、2端子サイリスタ30は略短絡状態となり、コンデンサ29に充電された電荷が2端子サイリスタ30および昇圧トランス31の1次巻線31aを介して放電され、1次巻線31aにはインパルス電圧が発生する。
1次巻線31aにインパルス電圧が発生すると、2次巻線31bに正および負の高電圧パルスが交互に減衰しながら発生する。正の高電圧パルスはダイオード32を介して針電極1に印加され、負の高電圧パルスはダイオード33を介して針電極2に印加される。これにより、針電極1,2の先端でコロナ放電が発生し、それぞれ正イオンおよび負イオンが発生する。
一方、昇圧トランス27の2次巻線27cに電流が流れると、1次巻線27aの端子間電圧が上昇して再度トランジスタ26が導通し、以上の動作が繰り返される。この動作の繰り返し速度は、トランジスタ26のベースに流れる電流が大きいほど速くなる。したがって、抵抗素子21の抵抗値を調整することにより、トランジスタ26のベースに流れる電流を調整し、ひいては針電極1,2の放電回数を調整することができる。
なお、正イオンは、水素イオン(H+)の周囲に複数の水分子が付随したクラスターイオンであり、H+(H2O)m(ただし、mは任意の自然数である)と表わされる。また負イオンは、酸素イオン(O2
-)の周囲に複数の水分子が付随したクラスターイオンであり、O2
-(H2O)n(ただし、nは任意の自然数である)と表わされる。また、正イオンおよび負イオンを室内に放出すると、両イオンが空気中を浮遊するカビ菌やウィルスの周りを取り囲み、その表面上で互いに化学反応を起こす。その際に生成される活性種の水酸化ラジカル(・OH)の作用により、浮遊カビ菌などが除去される。
図5は、図1~図4に示したイオン発生装置を用いた空気清浄機の構成を示す断面図である。図5において、この空気清浄機では、本体40の下部の背面に吸込口40aが設けられ、本体40の上部の背面および前面にそれぞれ吹出口40b,40cが設けられている。また、本体40の内部にはダクト41が設けられており、ダクト41の下端の開口部は吸込口40aに対向して設けられ、ダクト41の上端は吹出口40b,40cに接続されている。
ダクト41の下端の開口部にはクロスフローファン42が設けられ、ダクト41の中央部にはイオン発生装置43が設けられている。イオン発生装置43は、図1~図4で示したものである。イオン発生装置43の筐体10はダクト41の外壁面に固定され、その針電極1,2および保護カバー12はダクト41の壁を貫通してダクト41内に突出している。2本の針電極1,2は、ダクト41内の空気が流れる方向(Y方向)と直交する方向(X方向)に配列されている。
また、吸込口40aには樹脂製の格子状のグリル44が設けられており、グリル44の内側に網目状の薄いフィルタ45が貼り付けられている。フィルタ45の奥にはクロスフローファン42に異物やユーザーの指が入り込まないようにファンガード46が設けられている。
クロスフローファン42が回転駆動されると、室内の空気は吸込口40aを介してダクト41内に吸込まれる。吸込まれた空気に含まれるカビ菌などは、イオン発生装置43によって生成されたイオンによって除去される。イオン発生装置43を通過した清浄な空気は、吹出口40b,40cを介して室内に放出される。
図6は、ダクト41内の風の方向とイオン発生装置43の針電極1,2の配列方向との関係を示す斜視図である。図6に示すように、イオン発生装置43の針電極1,2および保護カバー12はダクト41の壁を貫通してダクト41内に突出している。2本の針電極1,2は、先端をZ方向に向けて、ダクト41内の空気が流れる方向(Y方向)と直交する方向(X方向)に配列されている。
また、保護カバー12によってダクト41内の空間は、保護カバー12の内側(針電極1,2側)の空間と外側の空間に分割される。保護カバー12の天板13のうちの針電極1,2に対応する位置には孔13a,13bが開いているので、保護カバー12の内側の空間と外側の空間は孔13a,13bを介して連通している。
針電極1,2に高電圧が印加されると、針電極1,2と誘導電極3,4との間で電界が形成され、針電極1,2の先端部でコロナ放電が発生してイオンが発生する。ここで、針電極1,2の先端の直ぐ近傍に保護カバー12の天板13があると、針電極1,2と誘導電極3,4との間で発生する電界が天板13によって阻害される。しかし、本実施の形態1では、天板13に孔13a,13bを開けたので、針電極1,2と誘導電極3,4との間で発生する電界が天板13によって阻害されるのを抑制することができる。
また、イオン発生装置43は、所定時間運転した後にユーザーによって交換されるものである。ユーザーはイオン発生装置43を交換するとき、空気清浄装置の本体40の背面にある裏蓋40dを外してダクト41に設置されたイオン発生装置43にアクセスできる。このとき、針電極1,2の先端は天板13の孔13a,13bよりも内側に配置されるので、天板13をユーザーが持った場合でも、ユーザーの指は孔13a,13bの内側に入らず、針電極1,2の先端部に触れてユーザーが指に怪我をすることはない。
なお、ユーザーによる交換を行なわないイオン発生装置もあるが、その場合においても本願発明のイオン発生装置43であれば、その製造時に作業員が針電極1,2の先端部に触れて指に怪我をすることはない。
また、クロスフローファン42の回転によってダクト41内を通る空気は、イオン発生装置43の保護カバー12によって、保護カバー12の内側を通る空気と、外側を通る空気とに分けられる。保護カバー12の内側を通る空気は針電極1,2に直接当たることになり、針電極1,2の先端部周辺に発生しているイオンを空気流に乗せてダクト41の下流側へと運んで行く。一方、保護カバー12の外側を通る空気は、天板13の孔13a,13bから外側に向けて発生している電界周辺に発生しているイオンをさらって、ダクト41の下流側へとイオンを運んで行く。このとき、天板13が整流板となって、針電極1,2周辺を通過する空気を整流するので、針電極1,2周辺に発生したイオンを効率良くダクト41の下流側へ導き、吹出口40b,40cから放出することができる。
以上のように、この実施の形態1では、針電極1,2の先端部が筐体10および蓋部材11から突出しているので、針電極1,2の先端部で発生したイオンを筐体10外に効率良く放出することができる。また、針電極1,2の先端部を覆う保護カバー12を設けたので、針電極1,2の先端部に触れてユーザーが指などに怪我をすることを防止することができる。
また、Z方向からそれぞれ針電極1,2の先端が見えるように保護カバー12の天板13に孔13a,13bを開けたので、針電極1,2の先端部の周辺に発生する電界が保護カバー12で阻害されてイオン発生量が減少するのを防止することができる。また、Y方向から針電極1,2が見えるように保護カバー12に開口部を設けたので、Y方向に風を送ることにより、イオンを効率良く送出することができる。
また、Y方向から見て針電極1,2の両側で支持部材14,15によって天板13を支持するので、針電極1,2の先端部に触れてユーザーが指などに怪我をするのをより効果的に防止することができる。
また、誘導電極3,4をプリント基板5に搭載し、針電極1,2をプリント基板6に搭載したので、プリント基板5,6上に塵埃が堆積した状態でイオン発生装置が高湿度環境下に置かれた場合でも、針電極1,2と誘導電極3,4の間に電流がリークするのを防止することができ、イオンを安定に発生することができる。
また、プリント基板5,6を蓋部材11で覆うので、プリント基板5,6上に塵埃が堆積するのを防止することができる。また、ボス11a,11bを介して塵埃が侵入した場合であっても、その塵埃はプリント基板6上に堆積しても、プリント基板5上までは堆積し難い。また、プリント基板5の孔5a,5bにそれぞれ蓋部材11のボス11a,11bを挿入し、ボス11a,11bにそれぞれ針電極1,2を挿入したので、針電極1,2と誘導電極3,4の間の空間距離を長くすることができる。したがって、針電極1,2と誘導電極3,4の間に電流がリークするのをより効果的に防止することができる。
また、針電極1,2の先端部は、ボス11a,11bを貫通して蓋部材11の上に突出しているので、塵埃がボス11a,11bの開口部付近に溜まった場合でも、針電極1,2の先端部が塵埃に埋もれて針電極1,2の放電が妨げられるのを防止することができる。また、針電極1,2の先端部に塵埃が付着した場合であっても、針電極1,2の先端部に送風しながら針電極1,2に高電圧を印加することにより、針電極1,2から塵埃を弾き飛ばすことができる。
また、プリント基板5の配線層を用いて誘導電極3,4を形成したので、誘導電極3,4を低コストで形成することができ、イオン発生装置の低コスト化を図ることができる。
なお、本実施形態1では、針電極1,2の先端を蓋部材11の上に突出させたが、針電極1,2の先端を蓋部材11の上面よりも低くしてもよい。
また、本実施形態1では、プリント基板5の配線層を用いて誘導電極3,4を形成したが、誘導電極3,4の各々を金属板で形成してもよい。また、誘導電極3,4の各々は、環状でなくてもかまわない。
[実施の形態2]
図7は、本発明の実施の形態2によるイオン発生装置を示す斜視図であって、図2と対比される図である。図7において、このイオン発生装置が図2のイオン発生装置と異なる点は、針電極1,2の中間位置に平板状のリブ50が設けられている点である。

リブ50は、YZ平面に平行に配置され、蓋部材11と天板13の間に接続されている。蓋部材11と天板13の間の空間は、リブ50によって2分割されている。リブ50はYZ方向に平行に配置されているので、図6で示したようにダクト41内に配置した場合でもダクト41内の風をスムーズに流すことができる。
また、正イオンを発生するための針電極1が設けられた空間と負イオンを発生するための針電極2が設けられた空間とがリブ50によって仕切られるので、針電極1,2のうちの一方の針電極が発生する電界が他方の針電極が発生する電界に悪影響を及ぼすのを防止することができる。また、正イオンを含む空気と負イオンを含む空気とが混ざり難くなるので、正イオンと負イオンが衝突して中和失活し、消滅するという現象が起こり難くなる。したがって、結果的にイオン発生装置で生成される正イオンおよび負イオンの濃度が大きくなる。
また、リブ50によって保護カバー12の強度が高くなるので、ユーザーがイオン発生装置を交換するときに保護カバー12を持った場合でも、保護カバー12が壊れるのを防止することができる。
なお、図8に示すように、平板状のリブ50を円柱状のリブ51で置換してもよい。リブ51は、Z方向に延在し、蓋部材11と天板13の間に接続されている。この場合も、実施の形態2と同じ効果が得られる。また、針電極1,2をダクト41内に設けた場合、針電極1,2の配列方向(X方向)とダクト41内の空気が流れる方向とが90度から若干ずれているときでも、リブ51によって空気の流れを乱すことなく、空気をスムーズに流すことができる。
さらに、図9に示すように、支持部材14,15にそれぞれ開口部14a,15aを設け、天板13に切り欠き部13c,13dを設けてもよい。支持部材14,15はそれぞれ開口部14a,15aによって2分割されており、天板13の四隅のみが支持部材14,15によって支持されている。また、切り欠き部13c,13dによって天板13の中央部の幅が狭められている。この場合は、さらに空気を流れ易くすることができる。
また、X方向から針電極1または2が見えるように支持部材14,15に開口部14a,15aを設けたので、Y方向だけでなく、X方向や、X方向とY方向の間の方向に風を送ってイオンを送出することもできる。
すなわち、図6では、2本の針電極1,2の配列方向(X方向)とダクト41内の空気が流れる方向とが直交するように、イオン発生装置43を配置した。ダクト41の幅がイオン発生装置43のX方向の寸法よりも十分に大きい場合は、図6で示したようにイオン発生装置43を配置することができる。
しかし、ダクトの幅がイオン発生装置のX方向の寸法よりも小さい場合は、図6で示したようにイオン発生装置を配置することができず、イオン発生装置のX方向をダクト内の空気が流れる方向に対して斜め方向または同方向に向ける必要がある。この場合は、図9で示したイオン発生装置を使用することが好ましい。
図10は、幅の狭いダクト52内にイオン発生装置53を斜めに配置した状態を示す図である。また、図11は、ダクト52およびイオン発生装置53を上方から見た断面図である。イオン発生装置53は、図9で示したイオン発生装置である。
図10および図11において、イオン発生装置53の針電極1,2および保護カバー12はダクト52の壁を貫通してダクト52内に突出している。2本の針電極1,2は、先端をZ方向に向けて、ダクト52内の空気が流れる方向に対して斜めの方向(X方向)に配列されている。ダクト52内の空気が流れる方向と針電極1,2の配列方向(X方向)とは、約60度で交差している。正イオン発生用の針電極1が空気流の上流側に配置され、負イオン発生用の針電極2が空気流の下流側に配置される。
ダクト52内の空気は、天板13と蓋部材11の隙間、支持部材14,15の開口部14a,15aなどを通り、針電極1,2の先端部周辺に発生しているイオンを空気流に乗せてダクト52の下流側へと運んで行く。したがって、この変更例では、イオン発生装置53を空気流に対して斜めに配置した場合でも、空気をスムーズに流すことができ、大きなイオンの発生量を確保することができる。
また、図12は、さらに幅の狭いダクト54内にイオン発生装置55を配置した状態を示す図である。イオン発生装置55は、図9で示したイオン発生装置である。図12において、イオン発生装置55の針電極1,2および保護カバー12はダクト54の壁を貫通してダクト54内に突出している。2本の針電極1,2は、先端をZ方向に向けて、ダクト54内の空気が流れる方向と同じ方向(X方向)に配列されている。ダクト52内の空気が流れる方向と針電極1,2の配列方向(X方向)とは、同じ方向である。正イオン発生用の針電極1が空気流の上流側に配置され、負イオン発生用の針電極2が空気流の下流側に配置される。
ダクト54内の空気は、天板13と蓋部材11の隙間、支持部材14,15の開口部14a,15aなどを通り、針電極1,2の先端部周辺に発生しているイオンを空気流に乗せてダクト54の下流側へと運んで行く。したがって、この変更例では、イオン発生装置55の針電極1,2を空気流と同じ方向に配置した場合でも、空気をスムーズに流すことができ、大きなイオンの発生量を確保することができる。
図13は、支持部材14,15の開口部14a,15aの効果を示す図である。4つの場合について、イオン発生装置の周辺の風速を約5m/秒とし、温度を30℃とし、湿度を40%とし、空気流の下流の所定位置でイオン量を測定した。
まず図13の左端の第1欄に示すように、支持部材14,15に開口部14a,15aが開けられていないイオン発生装置43(図6参照)を使用し、針電極1,2の配列方向(X方向)と同じ方向に送風し、イオン量を測定した。この場合、イオン量は約650万個/cm3であった。
次に図13の第2欄に示すように、支持部材14,15に開口部14a,15aが開けられたイオン発生装置55(図12参照)を使用し、針電極1,2の配列方向(X方向)と同じ方向に送風し、イオン量を測定した。この場合、イオン量は約900万個/cm3であった。図13の第1欄と第2欄から分かるように、支持部材14,15に開口部14a,15aを開けることにより、イオン量を約1.4倍に増加させることができた。
また図13の第3欄に示すように、支持部材14,15に開口部14a,15aが開けられていないイオン発生装置43(図6参照)を使用し、針電極1,2の配列方向(X方向)に対して約30度斜めの方向から送風し、イオン量を測定した。この場合、イオン量は約800万個/cm3であった。
また図13の右端の第4欄に示すように、支持部材14,15に開口部14a,15aが開けられたイオン発生装置53(図10参照)を使用し、針電極1,2の配列方向(X方向)に対して約30度斜めの方向から送風し、イオン量を測定した。この場合、イオン量は約1000万個/cm3であった。図13の第3欄と第4欄から分かるように、支持部材14,15に開口部14a,15aを開けることにより、イオン量を約1.2倍に増加させることができた。
[実施の形態3]
図14は、この発明の実施の形態3によるイオン発生装置の構成を示す斜視図であり、図15は図14のB-B線断面図である。図14および図15において、このイオン発生装置は、正イオンを発生するための針電極61,63と、負イオンを発生するための針電極62,64と、それぞれ針電極61~63との間に電界を形成するための環状の4つの誘導電極(図示せず)と、2枚の長方形状のプリント基板65,66とを備える。
図14は、この発明の実施の形態3によるイオン発生装置の構成を示す斜視図であり、図15は図14のB-B線断面図である。図14および図15において、このイオン発生装置は、正イオンを発生するための針電極61,63と、負イオンを発生するための針電極62,64と、それぞれ針電極61~63との間に電界を形成するための環状の4つの誘導電極(図示せず)と、2枚の長方形状のプリント基板65,66とを備える。
プリント基板65,66は、所定の間隔を開けて図15中の上下に平行に配置されている。4つの誘導電極は、プリント基板65の表面に、プリント基板65の配線層を用いて形成され、図14中のX方向に配列されている。各誘導電極の内側には、プリント基板65を貫通する孔65aが開口されている。
針電極61~64の各々は、プリント基板65,66に対して垂直に設けられている。すなわち、針電極61~64の各々の基端部はプリント基板66の孔に挿嵌されており、各々の先端部はプリント基板65の対応の孔65aの中心を貫通している。針電極61~64の各々の基端部は、半田によってプリント基板65に固定されている。針電極61~64の各々の先端部は、鋭く尖っている。
また、このイオン発生装置は、薄型の直方体状の筐体70と、筐体70の上面の開口部を閉じる蓋部材71と、針電極61~64の先端部を覆う保護カバー72と、回路基板76と、筐体70の下面の開口部を閉じる底板77とを備える。筐体70の上面には、プリント基板65よりも若干大きな長方形の開口部が設けられている。また、筐体70の下面全体は開口されている。
筐体70は、絶縁性の樹脂で形成されている。筐体70の上面の開口部の内側には、支持部70aが形成されている。プリント基板65,66は、それぞれ支持部70aの上下に水平に収容されている。回路基板76は、プリント基板66に隣接して水平に配置される。回路基板76とプリント基板65,66とは配線によって電気的に接続されている。筐体70の下面の開口部は、底板77によって閉じられる。筐体70内の高電圧部には、絶縁用の樹脂78が充填されている。樹脂78は、プリント基板66の下面まで充填されている。
蓋部材71は、絶縁性の樹脂で形成されている。蓋部材71は、筐体70の上面の開口部を閉じるように配置される。蓋部材71の下面には、プリント基板65の4つの孔65aおよび4つの針電極61~64に対応する位置に4つの円筒状のボス71aが形成されている。
ボス71aの内径は、針電極61~64の各々の外径よりも大きい。また、ボス71aの外径は、プリント基板65の孔65aの内径よりも小さい。ボス71aは、プリント基板65の孔65aを貫通している。ボス71aの先端面(下端面)とプリント基板66の表面との間には、わずかな隙間が形成される。針電極61~64の各々は対応のボス71aを貫通しており、針電極61~64の先端部は蓋部材71の上に7.5mm程度突出している。
保護カバー72は、絶縁性の樹脂を用いて蓋部材71と一体的に形成されている。保護カバー72は、天板73と支持部材74,75を含む。天板73は、蓋部材71の上面に対向して設けられている。天板73の長手方向の両端は、それぞれ支持部材74,75によって蓋部材71の上面に固定されている。天板73のうちの針電極61~64の中心線と交差する位置には、それぞれ孔73a~73dが開けられている。孔73a~73dの各々の内径は、約6mmである。天板73の下面と、針電極61~64の先端とは、ほぼ同一面か若干の隙間ができる程度にされている。
すなわち、プリント基板66の長辺の方向をX方向とし、プリント基板66の短辺の方向をY方向とし、プリント基板66の表面に垂直な方向をZ方向とすると、4本の針電極61~64はZ方向に向けられてX方向に配列され、筐体70および蓋部材71から突出している。また、保護カバー72には、Z方向からそれぞれ4本の針電極61~64の先端が見えるように4つの孔73a~73dが開けられるとともに、Y方向から針電極61~64が見えるように開口部が設けられている。
また、針電極61,62の中間位置に円柱状のリブ81が設けられ、針電極62,63の中間位置に平板状のリブ82が設けられ、針電極63,64の中間位置に円柱状のリブ83が設けられている。
平板状のリブ82は、YZ平面に平行に配置され、蓋部材71と天板73の間に接続されている。蓋部材71と天板73の間の空間は、リブ82によって2分割されている。リブ82はYZ方向に平行に配置されているので、図6で示したようにダクト41内に配置した場合でもダクト41内の風をスムーズに流すことができる。円柱状のリブ81,83の各々は、Z方向に延在し、蓋部材71と天板73の間に接続されている。
他の構成および動作は、実施の形態1,2のイオン発生装置と同じであるので、その説明は繰り返さない。このイオン発生装置でも、実施の形態1,2と同じ効果が得られる。
[実施の形態4]
図16は、この発明の実施の形態4によるイオン発生装置の構成を示す斜視図であって、図14と対比される図である。また、図17(a)は図16に示したイオン発生装置の平面図であり、同図(b)はその正面図であり、同図(c)はその側面図である。図16および図17(a)~(c)において、このイオン発生装置は、正イオンを発生するための針電極61と、負イオンを発生するための針電極62と、それぞれ針電極61,62との間に電界を形成するための環状の2つの誘導電極(図示せず)とを備える。2本の針電極61,62はZ方向に向けられてX方向に配列されている。
図16は、この発明の実施の形態4によるイオン発生装置の構成を示す斜視図であって、図14と対比される図である。また、図17(a)は図16に示したイオン発生装置の平面図であり、同図(b)はその正面図であり、同図(c)はその側面図である。図16および図17(a)~(c)において、このイオン発生装置は、正イオンを発生するための針電極61と、負イオンを発生するための針電極62と、それぞれ針電極61,62との間に電界を形成するための環状の2つの誘導電極(図示せず)とを備える。2本の針電極61,62はZ方向に向けられてX方向に配列されている。
また、このイオン発生装置は、薄型の直方体状の筐体90と、筐体90の上面の開口部を閉じる蓋部材91と、針電極61,62の先端部を覆う保護カバー92と、筐体90の下面の開口部を閉じる底板97とを備える。筐体90は、絶縁性の樹脂で形成されている。筐体90内には、2本の針電極61,62を搭載したプリント基板、2つの誘導電極を搭載したプリント基板、回路基板などが収納されている。
蓋部材91は、絶縁性の樹脂で形成されている。蓋部材91は、筐体90の上面の開口部を閉じるように配置される。蓋部材91の下面には、2本の針電極61,62に対応する位置に2つの円筒状のボス(図示せず)が形成されている。針電極61,62の各々は対応のボスを貫通しており、針電極61,62の先端部は蓋部材91の上に7.5mm程度突出している。
保護カバー92は、絶縁性の樹脂を用いて蓋部材91と一体的に形成されている。保護カバー92は、天板93と支持部材94,95を含む。天板93は、蓋部材91の上面に対向して設けられている。天板93の長手方向の両端は、それぞれ支持部材94,95によって蓋部材91の上面に固定されている。Z方向(上方)から見て、天板93の長さ方向の両端部の幅は中央部の幅よりも狭くなっている。また、X方向から見て支持部材94,95の各々の幅は、天板93の幅よりも小さい。また、X方向から見て、支持部材94,95の各々は天板93の中央部を支持している。このように支持部材94,95の幅を天板93の幅よりも狭くしたことにより、針電極61,62で発生したイオンをX方向に拡散し易くすることができ、イオンの供給を阻害することなく、イオン濃度を精度良く検出することが可能となる。これについては、後述する。
また、天板93のうちの針電極61,62の中心線と交差する位置には、それぞれ孔93a,93bが開けられている。孔93a,93bの各々の内径は、約6mmである。天板93の下面と、針電極61,62の先端とは、ほぼ同一面か若干の隙間ができる程度にされている。
すなわち、天板93の長辺の方向をX方向とし、天板93の短辺の方向をY方向とし、天板93の表面に垂直な方向をZ方向とすると、2本の針電極61,62はZ方向に向けられてX方向に配列され、筐体90および蓋部材91から突出している。また、保護カバー92には、Z方向からそれぞれ2本の針電極61,62の先端が見えるように2つの孔93a,93bが開けられるとともに、Y方向から針電極61,62が見えるように開口部が設けられている。
また、針電極61,62の中間位置に円柱状のリブ81が設けられている。円柱状のリブ81は、Z方向に延在し、蓋部材91と天板93の間に接続されている。円柱状のリブ81の代わりに平板状のリブ82を設けてもよい。他の構成および動作は、実施の形態3のイオン発生装置と同じであるので、その説明は繰り返さない。
次に、このイオン発生装置の効果について説明する。図18に示すように、幅が一定の天板93Wを使用し、X方向から見た幅が天板93Wの幅と同じ支持部材94W,95Wを使用し、Y方向の風を針電極61,62側から送るものとする。また、筐体90の外周に沿ってイオンセンサ100を配置することが可能であるものとし、イオンセンサ100を用いて正イオンを検出するものとする。この場合、針電極61と保護カバー92Wの開口部の端(支持部材94Wの端)を結ぶ直線L1よりも内側の領域A1内に正イオンが高濃度状態で拡散するので、イオンセンサ100を筐体90の外周よりも外側でかつ領域A1内に配置する必要がある。
また、イオンセンサ100をイオン濃度の低い位置に設けるよりも、イオン濃度の高い位置に設けた方が、イオン濃度を精度良く検出することができる。しかし、針電極61のY方向の真風下の位置P1にイオンセンサ100を配置すると、イオン濃度は高くなるがイオンセンサ100の電極100aに捕獲されるイオン量が大きくなり、イオン供給量が減少すると言う問題がある。
そこで、針電極61のY方向の真風下を避け、針電極61に最も近い位置P2にイオンセンサ100を配置することが好ましい。しかし、図18の保護カバー92Wを使用した場合は、直線L1とX軸の間の角度が大きくなり、領域A1が狭くなるので、針電極61とイオンセンサ100の間の距離をさほど小さくすることができない。
これに対して本実施の形態4では、図19に示すように、X方向から見て支持部材94,96の幅が天板93よりも狭く形成されているので、針電極61と保護カバー92の開口部の端(支持部材94の端)を結ぶ直線L2とX軸の間の角度が小さくなり、正イオンが拡散する領域A2が広くなる。このため、針電極61とイオンセンサ100の間の距離を十分に小さくすることができ、イオン供給量を減少させることなく、イオン濃度を精度良く検出することができる。
なお、本実施の形態4では、図20に示すように、X方向から見て支持部材94,95の各々の幅は天板93の幅よりも狭くなっており、支持部材94,95は天板93の中央部を支持している。換言すると、Z方向から見て、天板93の両端部の上下が切り欠かれて中央部よりも細く形成され、その細く形成された両端部が支持部材94,95によって支持されている。したがって、図20中の上から下方向に風を送る場合と、下から上方向に風を送る場合との、いずれの場合においてもイオンを広く拡散させることができる。
また、風を送る方向が決まっている場合は、図21に示すように、天板93および支持部材94,95の風下側の角だけを切り欠いてもよい。換言すると、X方向から見て支持部材94,95の幅が天板93の幅よりも狭く形成されており、支持部材94,95は天板93の風上側の端部を支持している。この変更例でも、実施の形態4と同じ効果が得られる。
[比較例1]
図22(a)は上記実施の形態1の比較例1によるイオン発生装置の上面図であり、図22(b)は図22(a)のC-C線断面図である。図22(a)(b)を参照して、このイオン発生装置が図1(a)(b)のイオン発生装置と異なる点は、保護カバー12が平板状の4つのリブ105~108で置換されている点である。
図22(a)は上記実施の形態1の比較例1によるイオン発生装置の上面図であり、図22(b)は図22(a)のC-C線断面図である。図22(a)(b)を参照して、このイオン発生装置が図1(a)(b)のイオン発生装置と異なる点は、保護カバー12が平板状の4つのリブ105~108で置換されている点である。
リブ105~106の各々は、蓋部材11の表面に設けられ、YZ平面に平行に配置されている。リブ105,106は針電極1の先端部を挟むように設けられ、リブ107,108は針電極2の先端部を挟むように設けられている。このイオン発生装置では、リブ105~108を設けたので、針電極1,2の先端部に触れてユーザーが指に怪我をするのを防止することができる。
このようなイオン発生装置では、リブ105,106(107,108)の隙間を広げすぎると、リブ105,106(107,108)間に指が入って針電極1(2)の先端で怪我をする。したがって、指が入らないようにリブ105,106(107,108)の隙間を狭く設定する必要がある。しかし、隙間を狭くし過ぎると、リブ105,106(107,108)と針電極1(2)の距離が近くなり過ぎて針電極1,2と誘導電極3,4の間に発生する電界がリブ105~108によって阻害され、イオン発生量が減少してしまう。また、リブ105~108が帯電することによってもイオン発生量が減少する。また、狭い間隔で設けられたリブ105,106(107,108)が風に対する抵抗となって針電極1,2周辺の風速が低下し、これもイオン発生量の低減要素となる。
これに対して本願発明では、保護カバー12,72の天板13,73を支える支持部材14,15,74,75と針電極1,2,61~64との間の距離を容易に確保することができ、保護カバー12,72によって電界が阻害されたり、風速が低下することもない。したがって、ユーザーの怪我を防止し、イオンを効率的に発生することができる。
[比較例2]
図23は上記実施の形態1の比較例2によるイオン発生装置の断面図である。図23において、このイオン発生装置は、正イオンを発生するための針電極111と、負イオンを発生するための針電極112と、針電極111との間に電界を形成するための環状の誘導電極113と、針電極112との間に電界を形成するための環状の誘導電極114と、長方形状のプリント基板115と、平板状の蓋部材116とを備える。
図23は上記実施の形態1の比較例2によるイオン発生装置の断面図である。図23において、このイオン発生装置は、正イオンを発生するための針電極111と、負イオンを発生するための針電極112と、針電極111との間に電界を形成するための環状の誘導電極113と、針電極112との間に電界を形成するための環状の誘導電極114と、長方形状のプリント基板115と、平板状の蓋部材116とを備える。
誘導電極113は、金属板によって環状に形成され、プリント基板115の表面の一方端部に搭載されている。針電極111の基端部は、プリント基板115の一方端部の孔に挿嵌されており、その先端部は誘導電極113の中央部に配置されている。誘導電極114は、金属板によって環状に形成され、プリント基板115の表面の他方端部に搭載されている。針電極112の基端部は、プリント基板115の他方端部の孔に挿嵌されており、その先端部は誘導電極114の中央部に配置されている。
プリント基板115は、筐体10の上部に収容されている。筐体10の開口部は、蓋部材116によって閉じられている。蓋部材116には、それぞれ針電極111,112に対向する位置に孔116a,116bが開けられている。針電極111,112の先端は、筐体10内に収容されている。針電極111,112で発生したイオンは、蓋部材116の孔116a,116bを介して外部に供給される。
このイオン発生装置では、針電極111,112を筐体10内に収容したので、針電極111,112の先端に触れてユーザーが指に怪我をすることを防止することができる。しかし、このイオン発生装置では、針電極111,112の先端部が筐体10外に突出していないので、イオン発生装置をダクト41内に設置した場合でも、針電極111,112の先端部で発生したイオンを効率良くダクト41内の風にのせて外部に放出することができない。
また、針電極111,112と誘導電極113,114を1枚のプリント基板115に搭載したので、プリント基板115の表面に塵埃が堆積した状態で高湿度環境下に置かれると、吸湿した塵埃を介して針電極111,112と誘導電極113,114の間に電流がリークし、イオン発生量が低下してしまう。
今回開示された実施の形態はすべての点で例示であって制限的なものではないと考えられるべきである。本発明の範囲は上記した説明でなくて請求の範囲によって示され、請求の範囲と均等の意味および範囲内でのすべての変更が含まれることが意図される。
