<電動工具10の概要について>
本実施形態に係る電動工具10は、DCブラシレスモータ20(以下、DCモータ20という)を駆動源とするインパクトドライバ(回転打撃工具)である。
図1に示すように、電動工具10は、筒状のハウジング本体部12と、そのハウジング本体部12の下部から突出するように形成されたハンドル部15とから構成されている。ハンドル部15は、使用者が電動工具10を使用する際に把持する握り部位15hと、その握り部位15hよりも下側(先端側)に位置するバッテリ連結部位15pとから構成されている。そして、握り部位15hの基端部に使用者が指先で引き操作するための変速スイッチ18が設けられている。また、ハンドル部15のバッテリ連結部位15pには、バッテリパック16が連結される連結機構(図示省略)が設けられている。
DCモータ20は、図2等に示すように、永久磁石を備える回転子22と、駆動コイル23cを備える固定子23と、前記回転子22の磁極の位置を検出するための三個の磁気センサ32とから構成されている。磁気センサ32は、固定子23の後端部に設けられた電気回路基板(図示省略)に回転子22を囲むように120°間隔で取付けられている。また、前記電気回路基板には、後記するモータ駆動回路40の三相ブリッジ回路部45等が取付けられている。
モータ駆動回路40は、DCモータ20を駆動させるための電気回路であり、図2に示すように、6個のスイッチング素子44から構成された三相ブリッジ回路部45と、変速スイッチ18の電気信号に基づいて前記三相ブリッジ回路部45のスイッチング素子44を制御する制御回路部46とを備えている。
三相ブリッジ回路部45は、三本(U相、V相、W相)の出力線41を備えており、それらの出力線41がDCモータ20の対応する駆動コイル23c(U相、V相、W相)に接続されている。また、3個の磁気センサ32は、DCモータ20の各々の駆動コイル23cに対してそれぞれ60°位相をずらした状態で位置決めされている。
ここで、三相ブリッジ回路部45のスイッチング素子44としては、例えば、電界効果型トランジスタ(FET)が使用される。
変速スイッチ18は、使用者が指先で引き操作するトリガ18t(図1参照)と、ハウジング11のハンドル部15内に収納されたスイッチ本体部18mとから構成されている。
スイッチ本体部18mは、図2に示すように、抵抗部18rと、その抵抗部18rに対して摺動できるように構成されたブラシ部18bとを備えている。そして、前記抵抗部18rに対する前記ブラシ部18bの摺動位置が変わることで、その抵抗部の端子とブラシ部18bの端子間の抵抗値が増減するように構成されている。
トリガ18tは、バネ力で原位置(突出端位置)に保持される構成であり、前記バネ力に抗して引き操作されることで操作端位置まで移動できるように構成されている。このため、トリガ18tから指先を離すことでトリガ18tはバネ力で原位置まで戻されるようになる。
前記トリガ18tは、スイッチ本体部18mのブラシ部18bに連結されている。このため、トリガ18tが引き操作されることで、スイッチ本体部18mのブラシ部18bが抵抗部18rに対して摺動し、抵抗値が変化するようになる。
即ち、トリガ18tの引き操作量が抵抗値の関数となる。さらに、トリガ18tが引き操作された状態が変速スイッチ18のオン操作状態であり、トリガ18tがバネ力で原位置まで戻された状態が変速スイッチ18のオフ操作状態である。
変速スイッチ18のスイッチ本体部18mは、図2に示すように、制御回路部46に接続されており、その変速スイッチ18の抵抗値が制御回路部46において電圧信号に変換される。
制御回路部46は、変速スイッチ18の電圧信号(トリガ18tの引き操作量)に基づいて三相ブリッジ回路部45のスイッチング素子44を制御する部分であり、マイコンやIC等の電子部品により構成されている。
制御回路部46は、変速スイッチ18のトリガ18tの引き操作量(以下、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量という)がL%(例えば、30%)以下の場合にはDCモータ20を間欠制御し、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量がL%を超えた状態でDCモータ20を連続制御できるように構成されている。
連続制御とは、図3の実線部で示すように、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量の増加に伴ってDCモータ20に対する電力供給量を増加させ、また、トリガ18tの引き操作量の減少に伴ってDCモータ20に対する電力供給量を減少させる制御であり、PWM制御により電力供給量を調整する。具体的には、三相ブリッジ回路部45のスイッチング素子44(FET)を所定のキャリア周波数でデューティ比調節することにより各駆動コイル23cに供給する電力をPWM制御する。これにより、図3に示すように、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量に応じてDCモータ20に対する電力供給量が増減し、そのDCモータ20の回転数が増減するようになる。
ここで、電力供給時間T2内における単位時間当たり電力供給量は、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量に基づいて設定される。即ち、前記電力供給量は、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量に基づいてPWM制御により調整される。例えば、図5に示すように、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量が約10%の場合には、単位時間あたりの電力供給量は最大供給量の10%程度に設定される。また、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量が約20%の場合には、単位時間あたりの電力供給量は最大供給量の20%程度に設定される。
ここで、図6の左下に示すように、間欠制御においてDCモータ20に電力を供給しているときの単位時間あたりの電力供給量を一定にし、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量に応じて電力供給時間T2と電力供給停止時間T3との比率を変化させることも可能である。
上記した電動工具10の動作を図4、図5に基づいて説明する。
ここで、電動工具10は変速スイッチ18の引き操作量がL%(例えば、30%)以下の場合にはDCモータ20を間欠制御し、前記引き操作量がL%を超えた状態でDCモータ20を連続制御できるように構成されている。
例えば、電動工具10の変速スイッチ18が10%程度引き操作された場合には、図4 ステップ101の判断がNOとなるため、間欠制御が行なわれる(ステップ104)。このため、図5の左下に示すように、DCモータ20に対して周期的に電力供給と電力供給停止とが繰り返えされる。前述のように、電力供給時間T2と電力供給停止時間T3とは等しく設定されているため(T2=T3=例えば、0.1秒)、DCモータ20は、0.1秒毎に回転と停止とを繰り返すようになる。さらに、電力供給時間T2内における単位時間当たり電力供給量は、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量に基づいて設定されている。このため、例えば、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量が10%程度の場合には、単位時間あたりの電力供給量は最大供給量の10%程度に設定され、DCモータ20は比較的低速で回転する。
また、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量が20%程度にまで増加した場合にも(図4 ステップ101 NO)、継続して間欠制御が行なわれる(ステップ104)。しかし、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量が増加しているため(10%→20%)、単位時間あたりの電力供給量は最大供給量の20%程度まで増加し、DCモータ20の回転数は上昇する。
本実施形態に係る電動工具10によると、間欠制御にすることで、変速スイッチ18のオン操作とオフ操作とを繰り返したときと同様に、DCモータ20に対する電力供給量を間欠的に変化させることができる。即ち、間欠制御により、変速スイッチ18のオン操作とオフ操作とを繰り返さなくても電動工具10を間欠的に駆動させることができる。このため、例えば、ネジの締め付け開始時等に電動工具を間欠駆動させる際のトリガ操作が煩雑でなくなり、電動工具の使い勝手が向上する。
なお、連続制御に切替わることで、従来と同様の使用が可能になる。
また、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量に基づいて間欠制御と連続制御とを切替えることができるため、間欠制御を効率的に利用できるようになり、電動工具10の使い勝手が向上する。
ここで、本発明は上記実施形態に限定されるものではなく、本発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲における変更が可能である。例えば、本実施形態では、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量に基づいて間欠制御と連続制御とを切替える例を示した。しかし、図7~図9に示すように、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量には係わりなく、変速スイッチ18がオン操作されたタイミングT0から所定時間TM内であれば間欠制御が行なわれ、所定時間TM経過後は連続制御が行なわれるようにすることも可能である。ここで、間欠制御では、図8に示すように、電力供給時間T2と電力供給停止時間T3との比率を一定にし、電力供給時間T2内における単位時間当たり電力供給量を変速スイッチ18の引き操作量に基づいて設定しても良い。また、図9に示すように、電力供給時間T2内における単位時間当たりの電力供給量を一定し、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量に応じて電力供給時間T2と電力供給停止時間T3との比率を変化させることも可能である。
また、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量等に係わらず、DCモータ20の負荷電流や回転数等に基づいて間欠制御と連続制御とを切替える構成でも可能である。
例えば、図10に示す電動工具10では、モード選択スイッチ49により連続制御モードが選択されると(ステップ121 YES)、常に連続制御が行なわれる(ステップ125)。即ち、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量に応じてDCモータ20に対する電力供給量が増減し、そのDCモータ20の回転数が増減するようになる。
また、モード選択スイッチ49により間欠制御モードが選択されると(ステップ123 YES)、常に間欠制御が行なわれる(ステップ126)。即ち、DCモータ20に対して周期的に電力供給と電力供給停止とが繰り返えされるようになり、DCモータ20は所定時間毎に回転と停止とを繰り返すようになる。

また、本実施形態では、変速スイッチ18の引き操作量に基づいてDCモータ20に対する電力供給量を変化させたり、間欠制御と連続制御との切替えを行なう例を示した。しかし、例えば、押圧力により抵抗値が変化する構成の変速スイッチを使用し、押圧力(操作量)に基づいてDCモータ20に対する電力供給量を変化させたり、間欠制御と連続制御との切替えを行なうことも可能である。

Claims (7)
- 変速スイッチの操作量に応じてモータに対する電力供給量を制御する構成の電動工具であって、
前記変速スイッチのオン操作とオフ操作とを繰り返したときと同様に、前記モータに対する電力供給量を間欠的に変化させる間欠制御と、
前記変速スイッチの操作量に応じてモータに対する電力供給量を連続的に変化させる連続制御とを行なえるように構成されていることを特徴とする電動工具。 - 請求項1に記載された電動工具であって、
前記変速スイッチの操作量に基づいて前記間欠制御と連続制御とを切替えることを特徴とする電動工具。 - 請求項1に記載された電動工具であって、
前記変速スイッチのオン操作開始からの時間に基づいて前記間欠制御と連続制御とを切替えることを特徴とする電動工具。 - 請求項1から請求項3のいずれかに記載された電動工具であって、
間欠制御では、電力供給時間と電力供給停止時間とを一定比率にし、前記変速スイッチの操作量に基づいて、前記電力供給時間内における単位時間当たりの電力供給量を変化させることを特徴とする電動工具。 - 請求項1から請求項3のいずれかに記載された電動工具であって、
間欠制御では、変速スイッチの操作量に基づいて、電力供給時間と電力供給停止時間との比率を変化させ、前記電力供給時間内における単位時間当たりの電力供給量を一定にすることを特徴とする電動工具。 - 請求項1に記載された電動工具であって、
前記モータの負荷電流、あるいは前記モータの回転数に基づいて、前記間欠制御と連続制御とを切替えることを特徴とする電動工具。 - 請求項1に記載された電動工具であって、
前記連続制御単独モードと、前記間欠制御単独モードと、前記連続制御と間欠制御との切替え可能モードとを選択できるように構成されていることを特徴とする電動工具。
