図4は、コンテンツ記録装置12の機能ブロック図である。他の2台のコンテンツ記録装置13,14もコンテンツ記録装置12と同様の機能ブロック構成を備えている。

- 可搬型の記録媒体に対して複数の装置が協働してダビングを行うダビングシステムであって、
前記複数の装置のうちの第1装置は、
当該複数の装置が記憶しているコンテンツのリストを作成する作成手段と、
作成されたコンテンツのリストの中から、記録の対象とするコンテンツの選択を受け付ける受付手段と、
選択を受け付けたコンテンツ毎に、対応するコンテンツ識別情報を取得する取得手段と、
取得されたコンテンツ識別情報を含む第1管理データを、前記記録媒体に書き込む書込手段と、を備え、
前記複数の装置のうちの第2装置は、
コンテンツを記憶する記憶手段と、
記憶されたコンテンツ毎に対応するコンテンツ識別情報を生成する生成手段と、
前記記録媒体に記録された第1管理データに含まれるコンテンツ識別情報を読み出す読出手段と、
読み出されたコンテンツ識別情報と、生成手段により生成されたコンテンツ識別情報との同一性を判断する判断手段と、
同一と判断された場合に、判断に用いたコンテンツ識別情報に対応するコンテンツを前記記録媒体に追記する追記手段と、
を備えることを特徴とするダビングシステム。
- 前記第2装置は、前記追記手段によるコンテンツの追記に伴い、前記記録媒体に記録されたコンテンツ識別情報の中で追記したコンテンツに対応するコンテンツ識別情報を、記録済みである旨を示すよう更新する更新手段を備え、
前記判断手段は、読み出されたコンテンツ識別情報の中で、記録済みである旨を示すコンテンツ識別情報については、判断の対象から除外することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のダビングシステム。
- 前記第1装置における前記受付手段は、記録の対象とする2以上のコンテンツと、当該コンテンツの再生順序とを受け付け、
前記第1装置における前記書込手段は、前記受付手段が受け付けた2以上のコンテンツに対応するコンテンツ識別情報を含む第1管理データを、前記記録媒体の種別により定まる規定のフォーマットにしたがって書き込み、また、受け付けたコンテンツの再生順序を含む第2管理データを、前記規定のフォーマットにはしたがわない独自のフォーマットで書き込み、
前記第2装置の前記更新手段は、前記記録媒体の前記第1管理データに含まれるコンテンツ識別情報のすべてが記録済みである旨を示す場合には、前記記録媒体に在る前記第1管理データを無効化し、また、前記記録媒体に在る前記独自のフォーマットで書き込まれた第2管理データを前記規定のフォーマットへと更新することを特徴とする請求項2に記載のダビングシステム。
- 前記第1管理データは、前記受付手段が受け付けた前記2以上のコンテンツに対応するコンテンツ識別情報を含むが前記再生順序は含まず、
前記第2管理データは、前記受付手段が受け付けた前記2以上のコンテンツに対応するコンテンツ識別情報を含まないが前記再生順序を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載のダビングシステム。
- 前記第1管理データは、前記コンテンツ識別情報と、各コンテンツ識別情報に対応するコンテンツを記憶している他の装置を識別する装置識別子とを含み、
前記読出手段は、前記記録媒体に記録された第1管理データに含まれる装置識別子を読み出し、
前記判断手段は、読み出された装置識別子が自装置を示すものかどうかの判断を行い、
前記追記手段は、前記判断手段により前記装置識別子が自装置を示すものではないと判定された場合には、当該装置識別子に対応するコンテンツの追記を行わないことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のダビングシステム。

- 他の装置とネットワークを介して接続され、可搬型の記録媒体に対して記録を行うコンテンツ記録装置であって、
コンテンツを記憶する記憶手段と、
前記記憶手段が記憶しているコンテンツおよび前記他の装置が記憶しているコンテンツのリストを作成する作成手段と、
作成されたコンテンツのリストの中から、記録の対象とするコンテンツの選択を受け付ける受付手段と、
選択を受け付けたコンテンツ毎に、対応するコンテンツ識別情報を取得する取得手段と、
取得されたコンテンツ識別情報を含む第1管理データを、前記記録媒体に書き込む書込手段と、を備えることを特徴とするコンテンツ記録装置。
- 前記受付手段が選択を受け付けたコンテンツの中で、
前記記憶手段が記憶しているコンテンツがある場合、前記書込手段は、その記憶しているコンテンツを前記記録媒体に書き込み、

前記記録媒体に記録された第1管理データに含まれるコンテンツ識別情報を読み出す読出手段と、
読み出されたコンテンツ識別情報と、生成手段により生成されたコンテンツ識別情報との同一性を判断する判断手段と、
同一と判断された場合に、判断に用いたコンテンツ識別情報に対応するコンテンツを前記記録媒体に書き込む書込手段と、を備えることを特徴とするコンテンツ記録装置。
- 前記書込手段によるコンテンツの書き込みに伴い、前記記録媒体に記録されたコンテンツ識別情報の中で書き込んだコンテンツに対応するコンテンツ識別情報を、記録済みである旨を示すよう更新する更新手段を備えることを特徴とする請求項10に記載のコンテンツ記録装置。
- 前記記録媒体に記録された第1管理データは、当該記録媒体の種別により定まる規定のフォーマットにしたがって記録されており、
さらに、前記記録媒体は、前記規定のフォーマットにはしたがわない独自のフォーマットであって、前記再生順序を含む第2管理データを記録しており、

- 前記記憶手段に記憶されたコンテンツに対応するコンテンツ識別情報の取得要求を他の装置から受けると、前記コンテンツからコンテンツ識別情報を生成する生成手段と、
生成されたコンテンツ識別情報として、要求元の他の装置へと送信する送信手段と、
生成されたコンテンツ識別情報を記憶するコンテンツ識別情報記憶手段とを備え、
前記更新手段は、前記書込手段によるコンテンツの書き込みに伴い、書き込んだコンテンツに対応するコンテンツ識別情報を、前記コンテンツ識別情報記憶手段から削除することを特徴とする請求項10に記載のコンテンツ記録装置。

- 可搬型の記録媒体に対して複数の装置により協働してダビングを行うダビング方法であって、
前記複数の装置のうちの第1装置において、当該複数の装置が記憶しているコンテンツのリストを作成する作成ステップと、
前記複数の装置のうちの第1装置において、作成されたコンテンツのリストの中から、記録の対象とするコンテンツの選択を受け付ける受付ステップと、
前記複数の装置のうちの第1装置において、選択を受け付けたコンテンツ毎に、対応するコンテンツ識別情報を取得する取得ステップと、
前記複数の装置のうちの第1装置において、取得されたコンテンツ識別情報を含む第1管理データを、前記記録媒体に書き込む書込ステップと、
