- the terminal part t is used when pan driving is performed by subject search or the like.
- the cable connected to the head will wind around the head 10 or that the head 10 side may rise or roll over due to stress on the cable side. In either case, the intended imaging operation cannot be performed, and the imaging operation itself is hindered.
- FIG. 11 is a diagram schematically showing actual signal exchange in the imaging system when realizing the limitation of the rotation angle range based on the presence or absence of the cable connection.
- the detection signal from the connection detection unit 59 is supplied to the control unit 51 in the pan head 10.
- the control unit 51 indicates that the cable is connected from the connection detection unit 59 as a detection signal for at least one of the detection signal for the power terminal t-Vin and the detection signal for the video terminal t-Video.
- a connection notification is sent to the control unit 27 on the digital still camera 1 side.
- the control unit 27 instructs the control unit 51 on the pan head 10 side to limit the rotation angle range in the pan direction as necessary.
- the rotation angle range in the pan direction can be selected from “unlimited”, “180 degrees”, and “90 degrees”. That is, at the timing when the cable is connected, one of these is set as the rotation angle range.
- the rotation angle range is limited to a predetermined allowable angle range that is set in advance so that there is no possibility that the above-described problems may occur. What should I do?
- the rotation angle range is set to a range narrower than the set range only when the setting of the rotation angle range at that time is “unlimited”. I try to limit it.
- the control unit 27 first confirms the setting of the current rotation angle range, and when the current rotation angle range is “unlimited”, the control unit 51. Is directed to limit the rotation angle range to an angle range within the allowable angle range. In the case of this example, when the rotation angle range is limited from the “unlimited” setting state in this way, the rotation angle range of “90 degrees” is designated so as to obtain a sufficient margin.
- the control unit 27 maintains the current rotation angle range setting when the current rotation angle range setting is other than “unlimited” when the connection notification is made. To do. Specifically, when the current rotation angle range setting is “180 degrees”, the controller 51 is instructed to specify a rotation angle range of “180 degrees”, and when it is “90 degrees”. A rotation angle range of “90 degrees” is indicated. Thus, when the rotation angle range set by the user is within a certain allowable angle range (within 180 degrees in this example), the setting of the rotation angle range is maintained. ing.
- the control unit 51 on the pan head 10 side has a rotation angle range in the pan direction corresponding to the execution of the subject search. Control is performed so as to be limited to the instructed rotation angle range.
- the control unit 51 is instructed to start pan driving from the control unit 27 on the digital still camera 1 side, and in response to the start instruction, the control unit 51 drives for panning.
- the unit 55 is instructed to start driving the pan mechanism unit 53.
- the control unit 51 causes the pan mechanism unit 53 to respond to the start of the pan driving in response to the instruction from the control unit 27 performed at the start of the subject search.
- the monitoring of the information on the rotation angle amount from the rotary encoder 53a provided for the encoder is started.
- the pan driving unit 55 is instructed to stop pan driving. Thereby, the rotation angle in the pan direction at the time of subject search is limited so as not to exceed the specified rotation angle range.
- the control unit 27 instructs the control unit 51 to stop pan driving. Will be done. That is, if the pan drive stop instruction is issued at the end of the subject search before the rotation angle amount reaches the upper limit value within the specified rotation angle range, the control unit 51 performs the panning operation at that time. A drive stop instruction is issued to the drive unit 55.
- FIG. 12 shows a display example of the rotation angle setting screen when the angle is limited.
- the “unlimited” icon is made unselectable by hiding or graying out the ““ icon. Thereby, it is possible to prevent the rotation angle range that is out of the allowable range from being erroneously set in the cable connection state.
- the control unit 51 notifies the control unit 27 to that effect (referred to as a connection release notification), and accordingly, the control unit 27 releases the limitation on the rotation angle range to the control unit 51.
- the control unit 27 instructs the control unit 51 in the “unlimited” rotation angle range in response to the notification of the connection release. That is, according to the fact that the cable has been pulled out, the rotation angle range of “unlimited” is set regardless of the rotation angle range that was set before the angle range limitation associated with the cable connection was performed. .
- the rotation angle range in the pan direction is limited to a certain allowable angle range based on the result of determining whether the cable is connected to the terminal portion t. It is possible to effectively prevent the occurrence of problems such as winding, floating of the pan head 10 and rollover. In other words, in this way, in an imaging system that performs an automatic imaging operation using pan driving, it is possible to prevent the imaging operation from being hindered by the winding of the cable or the like.
- step S101 the determination process of whether or not the cable is connected is repeated until a determination result that the cable is connected is obtained.

なお、イメージセンサ22として採用される光電変換素子(撮像素子)としては、特に限定されるものではないが、現状であれば、例えばCMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semi conductor)センサやCCD(Charge Coupled Device)などを挙げることができる。
