Definitions
- This invention relates to a connector, and more particularly to a connector for connecting a card-like connection object such as an IC card to a printed circuit board or the like.
- the insulator has a housing part for housing a card such as an IC card.
- the cover is rotatably mounted on the insulator. Further, the cover is movable between the lock position and the open position along the longitudinal direction of the insulator. When the cover is in the locked position, the cover is locked to the insulator. When the cover is in the open position, the cover is unlocked and the cover can be opened.
- the cover is formed by punching and bending a metal plate.
- the cover includes first and second card holding portions for holding a card, a pair of arm portions, and a pair of shaft portions.
- the cross-sectional shape of the first and second card holding portions is U-shaped.
- the pair of arm portions are substantially leaf springs and can be elastically deformed in the width direction of the card.
- the pair of shaft portions are provided on the inner side surface (surface on the card side) of the arm portion and protrude toward the card. The shaft portion is inserted from the outside of the insulator into a recess formed in one end portion of the insulator.
- the contact part of the contact contacts the card pad.
- the card is electrically connected to the connector.
- the above loading operation may be performed in the reverse order.
- the arm portion of the cover can be elastically deformed in the width direction of the card, the shaft portion of the cover can be inserted into and removed from the concave portion of the insulator, and the cover can be easily attached to and detached from the insulator.
- reducing the cover thickness reduces the rigidity of the arm part because the cover parts are integrally formed. For example, when the connector falls while the cover is in the locked position, the arm part is twisted and the shaft is twisted. The part may come off from the recess of the insulator and the cover may come off.
- the present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and the problem is that even if the height of the connector is reduced, the risk of the cover being removed due to a cause other than the card removal operation when the cover is in the locked position is reduced. It is to provide a connector that can.
- the present invention provides a housing in which a card-like connection object is accommodated, a contact held by the housing and in contact with the card-like connection object, and the housing.
- a connector including a cover that covers an upper surface of the card-like connection object accommodated; and the cover is connected to the cover main body facing the upper surface of the card-like connection object accommodated in the housing;
- a pair of arm portions that are elastically deformable and that can contact both side surfaces of the card-like connection object accommodated in the housing, and are formed on the opposing wall surfaces of the housing.
- a shaft portion inserted into the housing from the inside of the housing and rotatably supported.
- the cover since the cover has arm portions that can contact both side surfaces of the card-like connection object accommodated in the housing, when the card-like connection object is accommodated in the housing, the arm portion is the card-like connection object.
- the shaft portion cannot be removed from the bearing portion.
- the bearing portion is a long hole extending in a predetermined direction, and the shaft portion is in the long hole, a lock position where the cover body is locked to the housing, and a lock release position where the cover body can be opened. Is supported so as to be movable between.
- limiting means for restricting movement of the shaft portion at the lock position to the unlock position and restricting movement of the shaft portion at the lock release position to the lock position side It is provided in the housing.
- the restricting means is a spring that contacts the shaft portion with a predetermined force when the shaft portion is moved between the lock position and the lock release position.
- the present invention even if the height of the connector is lowered, it is possible to reduce the possibility that the cover is removed due to a cause other than the card removal operation when the cover is in the locked position.
