Abstract

　内燃機関用スパークプラグの熱引き及び耐汚損性の向上を図る。スパークプラグ１は、絶縁碍子２と、主体金具３と、中心電極５と、接地電極２７とを備え、中心電極５先端部２８と接地電極２７との間で火花放電間隙３３が形成される。主体金具３は、貫通孔２９が形成され、貫通孔２９には径方向内側へ膨出する金具凸部２１が形成される。金具凸部２１は、凸部後側面３０、凸部内周面３１、凸部先側面３２を有し、貫通孔２９のうち、凸部先側面３２よりも先端側の先端側内周面４０は一定の内径Ａ（ｍｍ）を有する。絶縁碍子２は、貫通孔２９に挿通されるとともに、第１、第２絶縁体テーパ部１４，３６及びテーパ部間基部３７を有する。第２絶縁体テーパ部３６と絶縁体先端部３８との境界部Ｋの外径をＢ（ｍｍ）、火花放電間隙３３の距離をＧ（ｍｍ）、凸部内周面３１の最先端部ＦＦから前記境界部Ｋまでの軸線Ｃ１方向の長さをＸＸ（ｍｍ）としたとき、Ｇ≦（Ａ－Ｂ）／２、Ａ≧７．３、及び、２≦ＸＸ≦４を満たす。
