Abstract

 少なくともCe-Zr複合酸化物を含む担体にPdが担持された触媒粉末を含む下触媒コート層2と、ジルコニア及びCe-Zr複合酸化物の少なくとも一方からなる担体にRhが担持された触媒粉末を含む上触媒コート層3と、からなる二層構造の触媒とした。Ce-Zr複合酸化物にPdを担持することで、酸素吸放出能によってPdからより活性の高いPdOが生成し、Ptに準じた高い酸化活性が発現される。またジルコニア及びCe-Zr複合酸化物の少なくとも一方からなる担体は耐熱性に優れ、それに担持されたRhは粒成長が抑制される。
