Abstract
少ない貴金属使用量で高温条件において高いNOx浄化性能を達成する。排ガス浄化用触媒(1)は、基材(2)と、基材(2)上に形成されると共に第1複合酸化物とパラジウムと白金とを含んだ下層(3)と、下層(3)上に形成されると共に第2複合酸化物とロジウムとを含んだ上層(4)とを含んでいる。第1複合酸化物は、セリウムとジルコニウムとセリウム以外の希土類元素及びアルカリ土類元素からなる群より選ばれる元素とを含み、パラジウムに対する白金の質量比が1/50乃至1/20の範囲内にある。第2複合酸化物は、ジルコニウムとセリウム以外の希土類元素及びアルカリ土類元素からなる群より選ばれる元素とを含み、第1複合酸化物と比較してジルコニウムに対するセリウムの原子比がより小さい。
