Abstract

 現在位置を測定する測位手段を備える携帯端末装置において消費電力を低減させることを可能とする。  使用者に携帯される携帯端末装置において、当該携帯端末装置の現在位置を測位する測位手段と、前記測位手段から測位結果を間欠的に取得するマイクロプロセッサと、を備え、前記マイクロプロセッサは、前記測位手段による測位結果に基づいて当該携帯端末装置の移動速度を算出し、該算出結果が小さい速度を示すときの方が、該算出結果が大きい速度を示すときよりも、前記測位手段から測位結果を取得する時間間隔が長くなるように、前記移動速度に応じた前記時間間隔の切り替えを行う。
