- skimming is the act of reading account information and personal identification numbers from other people's cards, withdrawing deposits and purchasing goods.
- a non-contact card has a coil and an IC chip embedded in a resin card, and by applying a magnetic field to the coil, an induced current can be generated to read the IC chip data. Therefore, it has a predetermined function. You can read the account information and password recorded on the IC chip simply by bringing the card reader closer.
- an object of the present invention is to improve a mobile terminal device such as a mobile phone and provide a mobile terminal device in which information that is difficult to be skimmed is not stolen.
- an invention for solving the above-described problem is a mobile terminal device having a non-contact type IC card function, and moves in the direction of approaching and moving away from an antenna unit that exhibits the non-contact type IC card function.
- a portable terminal device comprising a barrier member.
- the invention that exhibits the same function is a mobile terminal device having a non-contact type IC card function, and moves in a direction away from the card function display unit that performs the non-contact type IC card function.
- a portable terminal device comprising a barrier member.
- the card function exhibiting unit is an IC chip or an antenna.
- the portable terminal device of the present invention includes a barrier member that moves in the direction of approaching and separating from the antenna unit and the like. Therefore, information cannot be read if the barrier member is placed close to the antenna portion or the like during carrying. When paying with a card or withdrawing a deposit, the barrier member is separated from the antenna portion. As a result, electromagnetic waves and magnetic lines can be emitted from the antenna unit, and communication with the card reader becomes possible.
- the barrier member described above attenuates, for example, electromagnetic waves or lines of magnetic force.
- non-contact type IC cards are known to be based on an electromagnetic coupling method and a microwave method.
- the former electromagnetic coupling method communicates using mutual induction of coils by an alternating magnetic field. Therefore, in a portable terminal device that employs an electromagnetic coupling method, a barrier member that shields or attenuates a magnetic field is employed.
- a barrier member that shields or attenuates electromagnetic waves is employed.
- the barrier member is preferably a plate having a metal layer.
- the metal layer has a function of attenuating electromagnetic waves and magnetic fields. It also has the function of reducing the antenna efficiency by interfering with the antenna. Therefore, a plate with a metal layer is recommended as a barrier member.
- the “plate body having a metal layer” includes, for example, a plate in which a metal layer is coated on a resin plate or the metal plate itself.
- the barrier member may be a plate having a metal layer and a resin layer.
- the attachment position of the barrier member is arbitrary, when the mobile terminal device includes a battery mounting portion for mounting the battery and a lid body for covering the battery mounting portion, the barrier member is the lid body. It is recommended to be attached to.
- the barrier member is attached to the lid that covers the battery mounting portion, the barrier member is also detached when the lid is removed. Therefore, the barrier material does not get in the way when replacing the battery.
- the barrier member slides along the surface of the casing of the mobile terminal device.
- the thickness of the housing is not so thick.
- the barrier member is preferably inserted into the bag portion, and a part of the barrier member enters and exits from the bag portion.
- the barrier member is inserted into the bag portion, and a part of the barrier member enters and exits from the bag portion, so that the appearance is good.
- the barrier member is provided with a knob.
- Still another invention of the mobile terminal device is a card that exhibits a non-contact type IC card function in a mobile terminal device that has a non-contact type IC card function with an electronic component built in the housing.
- a portable terminal device characterized in that a removable barrier member is provided on a housing surface facing a function exhibiting section.
- a removable barrier member is provided on a housing surface facing a card function exhibiting section such as an antenna section. For this reason, if a barrier member is attached at the time of carrying, information cannot be read out. Also, when paying with a card or withdrawing a deposit, the barrier member is removed from the housing surface. As a result, electromagnetic waves and lines of magnetic force can be emitted from the antenna unit and the like, and communication with the card reader becomes possible.
- the barrier member attenuates electromagnetic waves or lines of magnetic force.
- the barrier member is a plate or sheet having a metal layer, and preferably has a glue layer on one side and is attached to the housing surface by the glue layer.
- Still another invention is a skimming prevention device attached to a portable terminal device having a non-contact type IC card function, and is provided in a card function exhibiting unit such as an antenna unit that exhibits the non-contact type IC card function.
- the skimming prevention device is characterized by including a barrier member that moves in the approaching / separating direction.
- Yet another invention is a skimming prevention device attached to a portable terminal device having a non-contact IC card function, which is a plate or sheet having a metal layer, and has a glue layer on one side.
- the skimming prevention device is characterized in that it can be attached to the housing surface by the adhesive layer.
- the mobile terminal device of the present invention has the effect of being able to attenuate electromagnetic waves and the like that are also generated by the antenna portion of the IC card function by the barrier member, and to prevent theft of information due to skimming.
