- Patent Document 1 Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2004-42 1 2 1
- oxygen or an oxidizing gas such as co 2 is conventionally mixed in an inert shield gas, so oxygen enters the weld metal and weld cracks occur, resulting in a high-quality welded joint.
- an oxidizing gas such as co 2
- weld metal performance includes toughness, ductility, etc. In general, it is effective to lower the oxygen content in the weld metal to improve it.
- FIG. 10 is a view observing the melting end and the arc of the welding wire in a 100% Ar gas atmosphere.
- the poles and arcs move unstable back and forth and left and right.
- the droplet transfer form is called globule transfer.
- a large droplet that grows larger than the diameter of the welding wire is formed at the arc generation end of the welding wire, and as shown in Fig. 12, the molten part fluctuates at the end of the welding wire, and the detachment of the droplet does not occur. It may be stable or spatter may occur when droplets move to the molten pool. These phenomena often result in weld defects and inferior weldability.
- the present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and provides a welding wire in which a melting behavior is controlled, an arc is stable in pure inert gas, and a high-quality joint can be obtained. Is an issue.
- the present invention is firstly a welding wire used in a high-purity inert gas atmosphere, wherein the melting point distribution is different in the radial direction, or thermal conductivity, specific heat

- FIG. 10 is a view showing a welding state of a conventional welding wire.
- FIG. 11 is a view showing a weld bead formed using a conventional welding wire.
- Fig. 12 is a diagram showing the behavior of the molten part at the tip of the welding wire at the time of globule transition caused by a conventional welding wire.
- the melting point of the core can be lowered.
- the melting of the outer peripheral portion of the welding wire is delayed, and the melting of the central portion of the welding wire is promoted.
- the molten column generated at the arcing end of the welding wire is shortened.
- Spray transfer is suppressed, arc wobble is eliminated, and the arc stabilizes.
- the meandering phenomenon of the bead is eliminated and no short circuit occurs, preventing welding defects.
- the melting point of the outer periphery of the welding wire can be lowered and the melting point of the center of the welding wire can be increased.
- the melting of the center portion of the welding wire is delayed from the outer peripheral portion. For this reason, an unmelted core is formed at the center of the conventional molten column, and the occurrence of a mode in which the liquid column becomes unstable is suppressed, and unstable arcs are eliminated.
- Such stabilization of the behavior of the melted part at the end of the welding wire can be similarly applied to the filler metal in arc welding and laser welding.
- Control of droplet transfer and droplet shape is not limited to controlling the melting point distribution of the welding wire, but by controlling material properties and characteristics such as thermal conductivity, specific heat, electrical resistance, and density. It is possible.
- the above effects obtained when the melting point is lowered toward the center of the welding wire are: thermal conductivity, specific heat, It can also be obtained by increasing the temperature toward the center of the welding wire during welding by either one of electrical resistance or density.
- the above-mentioned effect obtained when the melting point is increased toward the center of the welding wire is that the temperature toward the center of the welding wire during welding is one of thermal conductivity, specific heat, electrical resistance, or density. It can also be obtained by lowering.
- the control of the melting point distribution and the temperature distribution of the welding wire during welding are obtained by changing the composition of the welding wire. For example, materials having different compositions are arranged concentrically in the radial direction. This is illustrated.
- the composition of the welding wire was designed to be different between the outer peripheral part and the central part, so that the melting point of the outer peripheral part was about 1500 and the melting point of the central part was about 1400. Specifically, mild steel was used for the outer periphery and Inconel was used for the center.
- Figure 1 shows the composition of the welding wire and the composition versus melting point. Table 1 shows the composition of material A (mild steel) and material B (Inconel).
- Figure 2 shows the welded state
- the molten column at the tip of the welding wire does not extend as long as the spray transition shown in Fig. 10.
- the droplets formed at the tip of the welding wire are stably detached from the tip.
- the arc stays in the same position and is stable.
- the weld bead is as shown in Fig. 3, and no meandering phenomenon was observed. Compared with the welding bead shown in Fig. 11, when the conventional welding wire is used, the penetration is unstable and the penetration shape is not symmetrical. On the other hand, in the weld bead shown in Fig. 3, the finger-like penetration is greatly relaxed. This also indicates that the molten column that had been elongated for a long time has been relaxed.
- the oxygen concentration of the weld metal was 20 ppm, which was the same level as TIG welding.
- the material was designed so that the difference in melting point between the center and the outer periphery of the welding wire was large. As shown in FIG. 4 and Table 2, the center portion was Hastelloy C (melting point: 1290 :), and the outer peripheral portion was SUS410 (with melting point: 1507).
- the combination of the above materials allowed the Ms point of the weld metal after welding to be close to room temperature. Furthermore, by welding in high-purity Ar gas, the amount of oxygen in the weld metal was suppressed, and a welded joint with good toughness and ductility could be obtained.
- the material was designed so that the melting point of the outer periphery of the welding wire was about 1400 and the melting point of the center was about 1550. Specifically, we made a prototype welding wire with the outer periphery of Inconel and the center of steel.
- Fig. 6 The results of observation of the welding state are shown in Fig. 6. Although it is a spray-transfer type droplet transfer form with a long melt column, steel remains in the center of the droplet, so the droplet does not fluctuate. A door was formed. The penetration shape is symmetrical, and a finger-like penetration is formed at the center.
- Fig. 8 shows the cross section of the welding wire after welding.
- the globule transition occurs where droplets larger than the diameter of the welding wire occur, but steel remains in the center of the welding wire. Since steel remains in the center during welding, the droplets are stable without wobbling. Also, the formation of large droplets Is suppressed.
- the drop detachment time was 1 Z 2 of the conventional welding wire, and the drop detachment was stabilized.
- a low-alloy welding wire was prototyped. Its composition and composition are shown in Fig. 9 and Table 4.
- a material design was made in which the melting point of the outer periphery was lowered by about 100 from the center. [0 0 4 1]
