Definitions
- the present invention relates to a glass set for producing a front substrate of a plasma display panel.
- a front substrate on which a transparent electrode or a dielectric layer is formed and a rear substrate on which address electrodes, partition walls, etc. are formed face each other at regular intervals, and the circumference is sealed. It has a structure hermetically sealed with glass.
- the inside of the panel is filled with rare gases such as Ne and Xe.
- the front substrate used for the above application is manufactured by applying a dielectric material on a front glass plate on which a transparent electrode is formed and baking it at a temperature of about 570 to 600 ° C.
- soda-lime glass (coefficient of thermal expansion of approximately 84 X 10- ° C), which has been widely used for construction or automobiles, has been used for glass plates.
- Other peripheral materials such as glass have been designed, however, because force soda-lime glass has a low strain point of 500 ° C, heat treatment and heat shrinkage occur near 600 ° C.
- force soda-lime glass has a low strain point of 500 ° C
- heat treatment and heat shrinkage occur near 600 ° C.
- Patent Documents 1 and 2 Therefore, in recent years, high strain point glass having a thermal expansion coefficient equivalent to that of soda lime glass and a strain force of 570 to 580 ° C has been put to practical use and used.
- Patent Document 1 JP-A-8-290938
- Patent Document 2 JP-A-8-290939
- the high strain point glass has low thermal shock resistance, and if it is rapidly cooled after firing, cracks may be caused due to thermal stress. For this reason, it is necessary to limit the cooling rate in the heat treatment process, and the time required for the process must be lengthened.
- Plasma display In order to supply rays to the market at a low price, it is important to increase the throughput of the heat treatment process. If the cooling rate in the heat treatment process is slow, panels cannot be produced at low cost.
- the plasma display panel consumes a large amount of power, it is desired to reduce the power consumption. It is said that reducing the dielectric constant of the glass plate is effective in reducing the power consumption of the panel.
- a peripheral material such as dielectric glass powder is designed or selected so as to be compatible with a glass plate having a reduced coefficient of thermal expansion.
- the soft spot tends to increase, and the thermal expansion coefficient of the dielectric glass is reduced under the restriction of the firing temperature of about 570 ° C to 600 ° C. It is difficult to design freely. Therefore, if the firing temperature is set high, the conventional glass substrate may have insufficient heat resistance. Therefore, when determining the thermal expansion coefficient of a glass plate, it is necessary to consider whether or not a dielectric glass powder can be designed. In addition, it is desirable to use non-lead glass in dielectric glass powder due to the recent increase in environmental protection and the trend to reduce the use of environmentally regulated substances.
- the present invention provides a front glass plate and a dielectric glass so that a front substrate of a plasma display panel can be produced even when a glass plate having excellent thermal shock resistance and low dielectric constant is used.
- the purpose is to propose an appropriate combination of powders (glass set for front substrate fabrication).

- dielectric glass is used. This means that each material is processed, such as when the powder is a constituent component of paste, green sheet, etc.
- the thermal expansion coefficient a A of the front glass plate is an average linear thermal expansion coefficient in the range of 30 to 380 ° C. measured using a dilatometer, and is related to the thermal expansion coefficient of the dielectric glass powder.
- the number (a B means the average linear thermal expansion coefficient in the range of 30 to 300 ° C measured by a TMA measuring device.
- the strain point TA of the glass plate is a value measured by a method based on ASTM C336-71.
- the softness point TB of the dielectric glass powder is a value measured by determining the value of the fourth inflection point of the DTA curve (Fig. 4) obtained by the macro DTA measuring device.
- the thermal expansion coefficient A of the front glass plate is set low. Therefore, in the present invention, the thermal expansion coefficient ratio A of the front glass plate 55 X 10- 7 / ° C or more, is set to less than 80 X 10- 7 / ° C.

55 X 10"V°C≤ a A≤80 X 10"V°C
0 X 10"V°C≤ (ひ A— ひ B)≤15 X 10"V°C
TB≤ (TA+ 20°C)

, the Xth ICG, vol. 11, Ceram. Soc.
