Abstract

【課題】 大文字・小文字を有する言語を用いる場合によりインパクトの強い文字表現を可能にする。 【解決手段】 まず、テキストメモリに格納されている最初の文字を取得する(S7)。全ての文字についてまだ処理が終了していなければ(S9:NO)、S7で取得した文字が大文字か否かを判断する(S11)。大文字の場合には(S11:YES)、サイズ拡大処理を実行する(S15)。大文字でない場合には(S11:NO)、サイズ縮小処理を実行する(S13)。以上のサイズ拡大処理及びサイズ縮小処理では、次のスペースになるまで同じサイズに設定する。そして、S7に戻り、次の文字を取得して、全文字終了まで処理を繰り返す。

[0045] 次に、テープ印字装置 1の制御装置内で行なわれる、文字サイズ設定処理につい て、 4つの実施形態に基づき説明する。第一実施形態では、テキストメモリ 141に格 納されている文字列を先頭力も順に見ていき、スペースに区切られた単語の先頭の 文字が大文字かどうかを判断する。大文字だった場合には、その単語を構成する全 ての文字の文字サイズを大きくしてより目立たせる文字表現を行なう。第二実施形態 では、テキストメモリ 141に格納されて 、る文字列のスペースをチェックして単語の開 始位置と終了位置を記憶しておく。そして、単語の開始位置である先頭文字が大文 字かどうかを判断し、大文字だった場合にはその単語を構成する全ての文字の文字 サイズを大きくしてより目立たせる文字表現を行なう。第三実施形態では、テキストメ モリ 141に格納されて 、る文字列を先頭力も順に見て 、き、大文字を発見した場合 には、その大文字を含む単語内の全ての文字サイズを大きくしてより目立たせる文字 表現を行なう。第四実施形態では、テキストメモリ 141に格納されている文字列のス ペースをチェックして単語の区切りをチェックするとともに、単語内の文字が大文字か どうかを判断しておく。そして、大文字を含む単語については、全ての文字のサイズ を大きくしてより目立たせる文字表現を行なう。フローチャートの各ステップについて は、以下「S」と略す。

[0120] 図 18の例では、たとえば、 4つめの単語について処理しているとすると、図 19の S3 11でこの単語に大文字が含まれて!/、ると判断されて(S311: YES)図 22のサブルー チンに入ってきている。そして、いま、最初の文字「m」について拡大サイズ設定を完 了し(S353)、まだ単語終了位置ではないから(S355 :NO)、次の文字「o」を取得 する(S357)。そして、この文字についても文字サイズの拡大設定を行なう(S353)。 次いで、単語終了位置かどうかを確認すると、「o」は単語終了位置ではないので (S3 55 :^^0)、次の文字「丁」を取得する 357)。そして、この文字についても文字サイ ズの拡大設定を行なう(S353)。次いで、単語終了位置かどうかを確認すると、「T」 は単語終了位置ではないので(S355 :NO)、次の文字「h」を取得する(S357)。そ して、この文字についても文字サイズの拡大設定を行なう(S353)。次いで、単語終 了位置かどうかを確認すると、「h」は単語終了位置ではないので(S355 :NO)、次の 文字「e」を取得する(S357)。そして、この文字についても文字サイズの拡大設定を 行なう(S353)。次いで、単語終了位置かどうかを確認すると、「e」は単語終了位置 ではないので(S355 :NO)、次の文字「r」を取得する(S357)。そして、この文字に ついても文字サイズの拡大設定を行なう(S353)。次いで、単語終了位置かどうかを 確認すると、「r」は単語終了位置であるから(S345 :YES)、図 19に戻る。 [0121] 以上の処理により、第三実施形態と同様に、図 17の例のように、大文字を含む単 語の文字サイズは相対的に大きぐその他の単語の文字は相対的に小さく設定され る。第四実施形態のテープ印字装置 1によれば、あら力じめ単語の開始位置と終了 位置を検出し、あわせてその単語内の文字種を判断しておき、単語内に大文字が含 まれて ヽればその単語全体が大き 、サイズになるように設定したので、大文字の文 字だけを大きくするよりもより人目を惹くインパクトのある表現が可能になる。

Claims

請求の範囲
[1] 大文字及び小文字の文字種を有する言語の文字を入力する入力手段と、
前記入力手段から入力された文字の文字種が大文字であるか否かを判断する文 字種判断手段と、
前記入力手段から入力された文字が単語の区切りを示すコードであるか否かを判 断する単語区切り判断手段と、前記入力手段から入力された文字により構成される 一単語内の文字の文字サイズを、当該単語内の文字についての前記文字種判断手 段の判断結果に基づき決定する文字サイズ決定手段とを備え
前記一単語は、前記入力手段から入力された入力済文字の先頭文字から前記単 語区切り判断手段により単語区切りと判断されるまで、前記単語区切り判断手段によ り単語区切りと判断されて力 当該単語区切り判断手段により次に単語区切りと判断 されるまで、又は前記単語区切り判断手段により単語区切りと判断されてから前記入 力済文字の末尾文字までのいずれかにより構成されることを特徴とする印刷データ 処理装置。
[2] 前記文字サイズ決定手段は、前記文字種判断手段が、前記一単語内に少なくとも 1つ大文字が含まれていると判断した場合に、その単語の全ての文字の文字サイズ を大文字用サイズとすることを特徴とする請求項 1に記載の印刷データ処理装置。
[3] 前記文字種判断手段が大文字と判断した場合に、当該文字の前の文字サイズが 大文字用の文字サイズか否かを判断する文字サイズ判断手段と、
当該文字サイズ判断手段が大文字用サイズと判断しなかった場合に、その文字か らさかのぼって前記単語区切り判断手段により単語区切りと判断された文字の直後 の文字まで、文字サイズを大文字用サイズに変更する文字サイズ変更手段とを備え 前記文字種判断手段は、前記入力済文字の並び順に大文字か否かを判断し、 当該文字種判断手段が大文字と判断しな力つた場合には、前記文字サイズ決定手 段は、当該文字の文字サイズを直前の文字の文字サイズと同一の文字サイズに決定 することを特徴とする請求項 1又は 2に記載の印刷データ処理装置。
[4] 最初に入力された文字、及び前記単語区切り判断手段により単語区切りと判断さ れた文字の次の文字を単語の先頭と決定する単語先頭文字決定手段と、 前記単語区切り判断手段により単語区切りと判断された文字の直前の文字を単語 終了文字と決定する単語終了文字決定手段とを備え、
前記文字種判断手段は、単語先頭文字決定手段により決定された先頭文字から 前記単語終了文字決定手段により決定された前記先頭文字に対応する終了文字ま での文字により構成される単語内の全ての文字の文字種を判断し、
前記文字サイズ決定手段は、前記文字種判断手段により、前記単語内に少なくとも
1つ大文字が含まれていると判断された場合には、前記単語の全ての文字の文字サ ィズを大文字用サイズに決定することを特徴とする請求項 2に記載の印刷データ処 理装置。
[5] 前記文字サイズ決定手段は、前記文字種判断手段が判断した前記一単語の先頭 の文字の文字種に基づき、その単語の全ての文字の文字サイズを、当該先頭文字 の文字種に対応する文字サイズに決定することを特徴とする請求項 1に記載の印刷 データ処理装置。
[6] 前記文字種判断手段は、前記入力済文字の並び順に、前記単語区切り判断手段 により単語区切りと判断された文字の次の文字についてのみ文字種を判断し、 前記文字サイズ決定手段は、当該文字種判断手段による判断がなされた場合には 、その判断結果に基づいて当該文字の文字サイズを決定し、その後、前記単語区切 り判断手段により単語区切りと判断されるまで、当該文字の文字サイズを直前の文字 の文字サイズと同一の文字サイズに決定することを特徴とする請求項 5に記載の印刷 データ処理装置。
[7] 最初に入力された文字、及び前記単語区切り判断手段により単語区切りと判断さ れた文字の次の文字を単語の先頭と決定する単語先頭文字決定手段と、
前記単語区切り判断手段により単語区切りと判断された文字の直前の文字を単語 終了文字と決定する単語終了文字決定手段とを備え、
前記文字種判断手段は、単語先頭文字決定手段により決定された先頭文字の文 字種を判断し、
前記文字サイズ決定手段は、前記文字種判断手段が判断した文字種に対応する 文字サイズを、前記単語終了文字決定手段により決定された、前記先頭文字に対応 する終了文字までの全ての文字に適用することを特徴とする請求項 5に記載の印刷 データ処理装置。
[8] 前記文字サイズ決定手段により決定された文字サイズが大文字用サイズでな!、場 合に、文字の太さを太くするように調整する太さ調整手段を備えたことを特徴とする 請求項 1乃至 7のいずれかに記載の印刷データ処理装置。
[9] 大文字及び小文字の文字種を有する言語の入力された文字の文字種が大文字で あるカゝ否かを判断する文字種判断ステップと、
前記入力された文字が単語の区切りを示すコードであるか否かを判断する単語区 切り判断ステップと、
前記入力された文字により構成される一単語内の文字の文字サイズを、当該単語 内の文字についての前記文字種判断ステップの判断結果に基づき決定する文字サ ィズ決定ステップとをコンピュータに実行させ、
前記一単語は、前記入力された入力済文字の先頭文字から前記単語区切り判断 ステップにおいて単語区切りと判断されるまで、前記単語区切り判断ステップにおい て単語区切りと判断されてから次に単語区切りと判断されるまで、又は前記単語区切 り判断ステップにおいて単語区切りと判断されてから前記入力済文字の末尾文字ま でのいずれかにより構成されることを特徴とする印刷データ処理プログラム。
[10] 前記文字サイズ決定ステップでは、前記文字種判断ステップにお!ヽて、前記一単 語内に少なくとも 1つ大文字が含まれていると判断された場合に、その単語の全ての 文字の文字サイズを大文字用サイズとすることを特徴とする請求項 9に記載の印刷デ ータ処理プログラム。
[11] 前記文字種判断ステップにおいて大文字と判断された場合に、当該文字の前の文 字サイズが大文字用の文字サイズか否かを判断する文字サイズ判断ステップと、 当該文字サイズ判断ステップにおいて大文字用サイズと判断されなカゝつた場合に、 その文字力もさかのぼって前記単語区切り判断ステップにより単語区切りと判断され た文字の直後の文字まで、文字サイズを大文字用サイズに変更する文字サイズ変更 ステップとをコンピュータにさらに実行させ、 前記文字種判断ステップでは、前記入力された文字の並び順に大文字か否かを判 断し、
当該文字種判断ステップにお 、て大文字と判断されな力 た場合には、前記文字 サイズ決定ステップでは、当該文字の文字サイズを直前の文字の文字サイズと同一 の文字サイズに決定することを特徴とする請求項 9又は 10に記載の印刷データ処理 プログラム。
[12] 最初に入力された文字、及び前記単語区切り判断ステップにより単語区切りと判断 された文字の次の文字を単語の先頭と決定する単語先頭文字決定ステップと、 前記単語区切り判断ステップにより単語区切りと判断された文字の直前の文字を単 語終了文字と決定する単語終了文字決定ステップとをコンピュータにさらに実行させ 前記文字種判断ステップでは、単語先頭文字決定ステップにお!ヽて決定された先 頭文字から前記単語終了文字決定ステップにおいて決定された前記先頭文字に対 応する終了文字までの文字により構成される単語内の全ての文字の文字種を判断し 前記文字サイズ決定ステップでは、前記文字種判断ステップにおいて、前記単語 内に少なくとも 1つ大文字が含まれていると判断された場合には、前記単語の全ての 文字の文字サイズを大文字用サイズに決定することを特徴とする請求項 10に記載の 印刷データ処理プログラム。
[13] 前記文字サイズ決定ステップでは、前記文字種判断ステップにおいて判断された 前記一単語の先頭の文字の文字種に基づき、その単語の全ての文字の文字サイズ を、当該先頭文字の文字種に対応する文字サイズに決定することを特徴とする請求 項 9に記載の印刷データ処理プログラム。
[14] 前記文字種判断ステップでは、前記入力された文字のうち、前記単語区切り判断ス テツプにおいて単語区切りと判断された文字の次の文字についてのみ文字種を判断 し、
前記文字サイズ決定ステップでは、当該文字種判断ステップにお ヽて判断がなさ れた場合には、その判断結果に基づいて当該文字の文字サイズを決定し、その後、 前記単語区切り判断ステップにおいて単語区切りと判断されるまで、当該文字の文 字サイズを直前の文字の文字サイズと同一の文字サイズに決定することを特徴とする 請求項 13に記載の印刷データ処理プログラム。
[15] 最初に入力された文字、及び前記単語区切り判断ステップにおいて単語区切りと 判断された文字の次の文字を単語の先頭と決定する単語先頭文字決定ステップと、 前記単語区切り判断ステップにより単語区切りと判断された文字の直前の文字を単 語終了文字と決定する単語終了文字決定ステップとをコンピュータにさらに実行させ 前記文字種判断ステップでは、単語先頭文字決定ステップにお!ヽて決定された先 頭文字の文字種を判断し、
前記文字サイズ決定ステップでは、前記文字種判断ステップにお!ヽて判断された 文字種に対応する文字サイズを、前記単語終了文字決定ステップにお!ヽて決定され た、前記先頭文字に対応する終了文字までの全ての文字に適用することを特徴とす る請求項 13に記載の印刷データ処理プログラム。
[16] 前記文字サイズ決定ステップにより決定された文字サイズが大文字用サイズでない 場合に、文字の太さを太くするように調整する太さ調整ステップをコンピュータにさら に実行させることを特徴とする請求項 9乃至 15のいずれかに記載の印刷データ処理 プログラム。
[17] 請求項 9乃至 16のいずれかに記載の印刷データ処理プログラムを記録したコンビ ユータ読み取り可能な記録媒体。
