明 細 書 環境に優しレ、プラスチック容器 背景技術
技術分野
[0001] 本発明は、環境に優しいプラスチック容器に関し、内容物の品質を安定的に保 持するとともに、使用済み容器を、自然環境に悪影響を与えることなしに簡便に処理し ようとするものである。
従来技術
[0002] プラスチック製の容器は、ガラスや金属製の容器に比較して軽量であり、その 成形が容易であること、し力も低コストである等の理由から、近年、食品や飲料、薬剤あ るいは洗剤等の包装、充てん用の容器として様々な分野で広く使用されている。
[0003] ところで、プラスチックの中には、その廃棄に際してはダイォキシン等の有害ガ スが発生したり、発熱量が高いため焼却炉の炉壁を傷める等の問題力 焼却処分が困 難であり、その再利用化を図るベぐ衣服等の繊維や建材等の構成部材の一部として 利用されてはいるものの用途範囲を拡大するまでには至っていない。
[0004] また、プラスチックは酸素等のガスを透過させたり、香気成分を吸収する特性を 有する材料も存在することから、内容物の品質を安定的に保持するのが難しぐその改 善が求められる容器も存在している。
発明の開示
[0005] 本発明の課題は、内容物の品質の安定的な保持を可能とするとともに、使用済 みの容器を環境に悪影響を与えることなしに簡単に処理できる新規なプラスチック容器 を提案するところにある。
[0006] 本発明は、中空状の予備成形体をブロー成形して得た容器であって、 前記容器はその本体が生分解性のプラスチックよりなる、ことを特徴とする環境に優し いプラスチック容器である。
[0007] 上記の構成になる容器は、その本体の少なくも内表面にガスまたは水分の透 過を防止するコーティング層を有するものとするのが望ましレ、。
[0008] コーティング層は、ダイヤモンドライクカーボン (DLC)、Si02、SiC若しくは SiN 等の蒸着膜がとくに有利に適合する。
[0009] 生分解性のプラスチックとしては微生物系、化学合成系、ポリ乳酸'化学合成 系若しくは天然高分子系のポリマーを適用することができる。

発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0013] 図 1は本発明に従うボトル型のプラスチック容器の構成を示したものである。
[0014] 図において 1は生分解性のプラスチックからなる容器本体、 2は容器の口部、 3 は容器本体 1の内表面に形成した例で示したコーティング層である。
[0015] 上記の構成になる容器を作製するには、図 2に示すような中空状の予備成形 体、いわゆるプリフォームを押出しあるいはインジェクション法を適用して成形し、これを、 ダイレクトブロー、 2軸延伸ブロー等のブロー成形法によって所望の外観形状を有する 容器に仕上げ、さらに、蒸着技術を利用して常法に従い容器の内面にガスの透過や水 分の浸透を防止する、使用目的に応じたコーティング層を成形する。
[0016] プラスチックは、酸素や二酸ィ匕炭素のような低分子ガスを透過する性質を有し てレヽるため、容器の本体部分を通して酸素等が透過すると内容物の品質に影響を与え るおそれがあるが、コーティング層 3を設けることによって容器のノ リャ性を改善すること が可能であり、内容物の品質を安定的に保持することができる。
[0017] 生分解性のプラスチックとしては、微生物系として、ヒドロキシブチレート'バリレ ート(PHB/V)やマルトトリオース等のポリマーが、また、化学合成系として、ポリブチレ ンサクシネート (PBS)、ポリブチレンサクシネート'アジペート (PBSA)、ポリブチレンサ クシネート ·カーボネート、ポリ力プロラタトン系(PCL)、酢酸セルロース系(PH)、芳香 族'脂肪族コポリエステル、 PET 改質タイプ等のポリマーが、ポリ乳酸'化学合成系と して、ポリ乳酸(PLA)、乳酸系ポリエステル(CPLA)等のポリマー力 さらに、天然高 分子系として、デンプン +変性 PVA+脂肪族ポリエステル、コーンスターチ等のポリマ 一が適用できる。
[0018] 生分解性のプラスチックは、 02あるいは 03との反応、光化学反応、加水分解あ るいは微生物による分解形態をとるので、焼却等の人的な行為を加えることなしに崩壊 (分解)していく。この時、 DLCや Si02の薄膜は、プラスチックの崩壌とともに自然界に 戻ることになる。
[0019] ノ リャ性を改善するコーティング層としては、 DLCや Si02の薄膜を適用する場 合について説明した力 本発明では、プラスチックの分解を妨げることがなレ、ものであ ればこれにのみ限定されるものではない。
[0020] コーティング層を設けることによりァセトアルデヒドの溶出量が抑制されるととも に内容物の保香性が改善され、とくに DLCに関しては容器自体を不透明とすることが 可能であることから、遮光性を高めることができる利点がある。
[0021] 本発明に適合し得るその他のコーティング層としては、 sic、 siN等があり、 に関しては、何れのものも、 0.01〜0.2 m 程度とするのがよい。また、コーティング層 は、図 1では内表面に形成した例で示したが、本発明はこれにのみ限られるわけでは なぐ外表面に形成することも可能である。

[0024] また、充てん容量が 500 になる PLA (ポリ乳酸)製のボトルにつき、その内面 に種々の厚さになる DLCの蒸着膜を形成した場合と、その外面に SiOxの蒸着膜を形 成した場合の 02バリヤ性の改善効果に関する調査結果を、 PLAの単体力 なるボトル を基準とした場合における値と比較して表 2に示す。膜厚については、容器の胴部 1ポ イントにマスキングして、原子間力顕微鏡 (AFM)(TOPOMETRIXエクスプローラ 2100 型走査プローグ顕微鏡)にて測定した値を示したものである。

[0027] 本発明によれば、内容物の品質を安定的に保持できるだけでなぐ容器の廃 棄に際しては何らの人的な行為を加えることなく自然に分解してレ、くので、環境の保全 に極めて有用である。

請 求 の 範 囲
1. 中空状の予備成形体をブロー成形して得た容器であって、
前記容器はその本体が生分解性のプラスチックよりなる、ことを特徴とする環境に優し いプラスチック容器。
2. 容器が、その本体の少なくも内表面にガスの透過あるいは水分の浸透を防止する コーティング層を有する、請求項 1記載のプラスチック容器。
3. コーティング層が、ダイヤモンドライクカーボン (DLC)、 Si02、 SiC若しくは SiN等 の蒸着膜である、請求項 2記載のプラスチック容器。
4. 生分解性のプラスチック力 微生物系、化学合成系、ポリ乳酸 '化学合成系若しく は天然高分子系のポリマーである、請求項 1〜3の何れかに記載のプラスチック容器。
