また、 超音波シール装置を用いない別のシール方法と して は、 高周波誘導シール、 高周波誘電シール、 熱板によ る ヒ ー ト シ一ノレ等も知られている。
超音波ホー ンに加え られる超音波往復振動は、 容器の被シ 一ル面を叩 く よ う に作用するため、 これが容器の壁を伝わつ た り 、 容器内ヘッ ドスペースを伝わった り して、 容器の内容 物を振動させる。 そ う する と、 内容物が破壌された り 、 内容 物が液体の場合、 激しい液揺れを起こ した り 、 条件によ って は霧化する こ と によ り 、 シール時に、 内容物が噴出する こ と があった。 これを防止するためには、 容器内ヘッ ドスペース を多く と る必要があった。
また、 良好なシールを得るための条件が狭く 制限され、 シ ール条件が満たされないと、 容器構成部品の薄肉部が破壊さ れた り 、 シール部等に、 ピンホールが発生する こ と になる。
さ ら に、 シール作用面に、 軸方向の超音波往復振動を作用 させてシールを行う場合、 大きな加圧力を必要と した。 その ため、 座屈強度の小さい容器には不適であった。 また、 大き な加圧力は、 シール部の 傍で受ける必要があった。 そのた め、 容器本体の 口縁部に、 加圧力を受けるためのフ ラ ンジを 必要と した り 、 容器本体の口縁部をス カー ト付のキャ ップ状 蓋で被覆しよ う と しても、 フラ ンジで加圧力を受ける際に、 ス カー ト が邪魔になるため、 キャ ップにス カー ト を形成する こ と ができ ない等、 容器および蓋のデザイ ン上制限があ つ た。
強度の小さい容器やス カー ト付蓋をシールする場合、 超音 波シールを採用する こ と ができないため、 高周波誘導シール または高周波誘電シールを採用する こ と があつたが、 高周波 誘導シールを採用する場合、 シール部にアル ミ その他の高周 波誘導可能な材質を用いた り 、 高周波誘電シールを採用する 場合、 高周波誘電シール可能な材質を用いる必要があ り 、 容 器おょぴ蓋の材質に制限があ り 、 リ サイ ク ル上問題があ つ た。
また、 ヒー ト シールによ,る場合、 シール時間が掛かるため 効率的でなかっ た。 と く に、 容器おょぴ蓋の厚さ が大き い と、 ヒー トシールは不可能であった。
こ の発明は、 上記の課題を全て解決し、 シール時に内容物 に悪影響を及ぼすこ と がな く 、 シール条件を広く 設定する こ と ができ、 し力 も、 効率的にシールを行 う こ と のでき る容器 超音波シール方法を提供する こ と を 目的とする ものである。 発明の開示
こ の発明によ る容器超音波シール方法は、 シール作用面を 有する超音波ホー ンを用いて、 容器本体に容器構成部品をシ ールする方法であって、 容器本体および容器構成部品の被シ ール部同士を重ね合わせた状態で、 同被シール部をシール作 用面で加圧 し、 シール作用面に、 加圧方向 と 平行する軸を中 心 と する 回転方向の超音波回転振動を作用 させる ものであ る。
こ の発明によ る容器超音波シール方法では、 シール作用面 に作用 させられる超音波回転振動は、 容器の壁を叩く よ う に 作用するのではなく て、 容器の壁にそ う方向に作用する。 こ のため、 シール時に内容物に悪影響を及ぼすこ とがない。 さ ら に、 加圧力は小さ く て良い。 しかも、 容器の薄肉化につな 力 り 、 省資源、 コ ス ト低減と い う メ リ ッ ト を生むこ と にな る。 また、 容器本体および容器構成部品の材質を問わない。 そのため、 アルミ ニウムを含まない材質で容器本体および蓋 を製造する こ と によ り 、 リ サイ クルが容易 と なる。
さ らに、 超音波回転振動以外の超音波振動を複合させてシ ール作用面に作用させる と、 超音波の複合振動を利用する こ と によ り 、 効率の良いシールを行 う こ とができ る。
また、 あ らかじめ、 シール作用面に、 シール条件改善用凹 凸を形成してお く と、 シール条件を広く 設定する こ とができ る。
また、 容器本体が、 被シール部を形成する フ ラ ンジを ロ縁 部に有してお り 、 容器構成部品が、 容器本体の 口縁部に被せ られかつ被シール部を形成する外周縁部にスカー ト を有する キャ ップ状のものであっても よい。
また、 超音波ホー ンの加圧力を容器本体の底部で受ける よ う にする と、 シール時の容器の取扱いが簡単になる。 図面の簡単な説明

容器本体 11 は、 ボ トル状のもので、 有底筒状胴部 21 を有 してい る。 胴部 21 の上端には 口 部 23 が設け られる と と も に、 その縁部にフラ ンジ 24が設け られている。
蓋 12 は、 浅いキャ ップ状の もので、 外周縁部にそっての ぴた横断面略コ の字状の下向き環状嵌合凹部 31 と 、 嵌合凹 部 31 の内側壁下端に連なる平板状ウエ ッブ部 32 と、 嵌合凹 部 31 の外壁を延長する よ う に設け られてい る ス カー ト 33 と 、 スカー ト 33 の外周面の下端の一部に連なるつまみ 34 と よ り なる。
フ ラ ンジ 24 に嵌合凹部 31 がはめ被せられ、 フ ラ ンジ 24頂 面 と嵌合凹部 31 底面が重ね合わされてシールされている。 シールは、 超音波シールに よ る ものである。
図 2 を参照する と 、 容器ホルダ 41 と、 容器ホルダ 41 の上 方に垂直下向き に配置されている超音波シール装置 42 と が 示されている。
容器ホルダ 41 は、 圧縮コイルばね 43 を介 して水平昇降板 44 によ って支持されている。 超音波シール装置 42 は、 支持 体 51 に取付け られているシール装置本体 52 と 、 シール装置 本体 52 か ら下方に突出 させ られかつ下端に下向き シール作 用面 53 を有する丸棒状ホーン 54 と よ り なる。 シール装置本 体 52 には図示 しない振動子が内蔵されている。 振動子に よ つ て、 図 2 中矢印で示すよ う に、 ホーン 54 のシール作用面 53 にはその軸を中心 と する 回転方向の超音波回転振動が作 用 させられる。
シール作用面 53 の 中央には窪み 61 が形成 さ れる と と も に、 窪み 61 の周囲には凹凸 62が形成されている。 凹凸 62 の 例 と しては、 図 3 に示すよ う に、 シール作用面 53 に 2方向 に のびた交差溝 71 を形成する こ と に よ り 、 設け ら れた も の、 図 4 に示すよ う に、 シール作用面 53 に 1 方向にのびた 平行溝 72 を形成する こ と によ り 、 設け られたもの、 図 5 に 示すよ う に、 シール作用面 53 に半径方向にのびた放射溝 73 を形成する こ と によ り 、 設けられたものが挙げられる。
このよ う な凹凸 62 を形成する こ と によ り 、 シール条件が 改善される。 シール条件と は、 例えば、 超音波の振幅や発振 時間、 シール時の加圧力やその保持時間等々 であ り 、 これら の範囲を広く 設定でき る。
容器ホルダ 41 によ って容器本体 11 の底部を受けている状 態で、 昇降板 44 を上昇させ、 ばね 43 を圧縮させる と、 ばね 力によって、 シール作用面 53 がフ ラ ンジ 24および嵌合凹部 31 を加圧する。 振動子によ ってホー ン 54 に超音波回転振動 が加え られる と、 フ ラ ンジ 24頂面と嵌合凹部 31底面と がシ 一ノレさ れる。
加圧手段はばね力以外でも よい。 例えば、 流体圧シリ ンダ 等をホー ン側に設けても良い。 つぎに、 上記容器と は別の形態の容器をシールする場合に ついて、 以下に様々 なバ リ エーシ ョ ンを説明する。
図 6 に示す容器は、 カ ップ状容器本体 81 および ドーム状 蓋 82 よ り なる。 容器本体 81 の ロ緣部にはフラ ンジ 83 が設け られている。 蓋 82 の下縁部にはフ ラ ンジ 84が設け られ、 こ れが、 容器本体フ ラ ンジ 83 に重ね合わされている。 蓋 82 の 頂部には注出 口部 (図示しない) が設け られ、 これにはキヤ ップ 85がはめ被せられている。
容器本体 81 が容器ホルダ 41 の容器保持孔にはめ入れられ てそのフ ラ ンジ 83 が容器ホルダ 41 上面の容器保持孔縁部で 受け られている。
シール作用面 53 の窪み 61 は、 蓋 82 のほぼ全体を収容し う る大き さ と なされている。 窪み 61 の縁部が容器本体 81 およ び蓋 82 の双方のフラ ンジ 83 、 84 を加圧し、 こ の状態で、 ホ — ン 54 に超音波回転振動が加え られる よ う になつている。
この場合において、 シール時の加圧力は、 超音波シール装 置 42 に設け られた加 ]Ξ手段、 例えば、 図示 しない流体圧シ リ ンダによって作用 させられる。
図 7 には、 グーブル ト ップ型容器本体 91 の頂部に設け ら れた注出 口 (図示しない) の縁部外面に、 キャ ップ付ロ栓 92 のフラ ンジ 93下面をシールする場合が示されている。
容器本体 91 の底部は、 固定状に支持されている容器ホル ダ 41 によ って受けられてレヽる。
図 8 には、 ゲーブル ト ップ型容器本体 101 の頂部に、 これ を閉鎖する前に、 ロ栓 102 を取付る場合を示している。 ロ栓 102 は、 容器本体 101 の内側から注出 口 103 にはめ入れられそ のフ ラ ンジ 104 を注出 口 103 縁部内面に当接させている。 フ ラ ンジ 104および注出口 103 縁部を、 超音波シール装置 42 のホーン 54 およびア ン ビル 111 で挟み付けて加圧し、 こ の状 態で超音波が発振される。
この場合において、 図 6 に示す場合と 同様に、 超音波シー ル装置 42 には加圧力を作用 させるための加圧手段が備え ら れている。
図 9 は、 ブリ ッ ク型容器本体 121 の頂部に ロ栓 122 をシー ルする場合を示 している。 超音波シール装置 42 のホー ン 54 および容器ホルダ 41 によって、 容器本体 121 およぴロ栓フラ ンジ 123 を上下から挟み付ける よ う になっている。
上記 した例は、 いずれも、 被シール部に超音波回転振動を 作用 させる場合を示している。 超音波振動と しては、 超音波 回転振動の他に、 ホーン軸方向 と 平行する超音波往復縦振 動、 ホー ン軸方向 と直交する超音波往復横振動およびこれら の縦振動および横振動の組合わせよ り なる斜め振動も知 られ ている。 シール条件を左右する容器素材次第によつては、 超 音波回転振動に加えて、 上記した超音波振動を含めた他の超 音波の複合振動を利用する こ と も有効である。 産業上の利用可能性
こ の発明によ る容器超音波シール方法は 例えば、 容器本 体に、 蓋、 ロ栓、 その他の容器構成部品を 超音波シール装 置を用いてシールするのに適している。

Claims

請求の範囲
1 . シール作用面を有する超音波ホー ンを用いて、 容器本体 に容器構成部品をシールする方法であって、 容器本体および 容器構成部品の被シール部同士を重ね合わせた状態で、 同被 シール部をシール作用面で加圧 し、 シール作用面に、 加圧方 向 と平行する軸を中心とする回転方向の超音波回転振動を作 用 させる容器超音波シール方法。
2 . シール作用面に、 超音波回転振動以外の超音波振動を複 合 させて作用 させる請求項 1 に記載の容器超音波シール方 法。
3 . あ らかじめ、 シール作用面に、 シール条件改善用凹凸を 形成 しておく 請求項 1 または 2 に記載の容器超音波シール方 法。
4 . 容器本体が、 被シール部を形成する フ ラ ンジをロ縁部に 有 してお り 、 容器構成部品が、 容器本体の 口縁部に被せられ かつ被シール部を形成する外周縁部にス カー ト を有する キ ヤ ッ プ状のものである請求項 1 〜 3 のいずれ力 1 つに記載の容' 器超音波シール方法。
5 . 超音波ホー ンの加圧力を容器本体の底部で受ける請求項 1 〜 4 のいずれか 1 つに記載の容器超音波シール方法。
