Abstract

L'invention concerne une garniture d'étanchéité statique pour moteurs à combustion interne, notamment couvercle de fermeture pour carter de vilebrequin ou de boîte, qui comprend un corps de base en métal ou similaire, muni de trous pour recevoir des vis de fixation, ainsi que des bandes d'étanchéité en matériau élastomère, fixées par vulcanisation ou procédé similaire sur ledit corps de base. Les bandes d'étanchéité comportent au moins une nervure faisant saillie dans le sens axial. Afin d'une part de réduire sensiblement les frais d'usinage des contre-surfaces et d'autre part de rendre l'étanchéification encore plus efficace, les bandes d'étanchéité (5) comportent sur la face (10) opposée à la face de bride (9) du carter (8), des cavités (11, 16, 17) dans lesquelles est introduit un agent d'étanchéité.
