Abstract

Dérivé cellulosique, par exemple sous forme de film, de fibres ou de particules, que l'on met au contact avec du gaz carbonique, de préférence à une pression de 100 à 400 bar et à une température de 50 à 100 °C. Le gaz carbonique peut contenir une faible quantité d'additifs tels que des alcools. Le dérivé cellulosique gonfle sous l'action du gaz carbonique sous pression. Après un certain temps de gonflement on réduit très rapidement la pression du gaz carbonique de manière à provoquer le moussage du dérivé cellulosique. Suivant les conditions choisies, on obtient une matière à base d'un dérivé cellulosique microporeux dont les pores ont une taille moyenne de 0,5 à 50 micromètres. Les micropores peuvent être ouverts ou fermés et leur répartition dans la matière moussée peut être modulée par modification des conditions de traitement. Les dérivés cellulosiques microporeux sont utilisables par exemple comme matières de support pour des catalyseurs, des enzymes ou des anticorps sélectifs, en chromatographie immunologique, et trouvent également une application dans les matières pour structures ultralégères et dans les microfiltres.
