Definitions
- the invention relates to a bicycle with a frame on which a handlebar and a saddle are mounted.
- the invention is based on the object of providing a bicycle of the type mentioned at the outset which, with a simple construction and simple, operationally reliable applicability, enables the seat position to be adjusted as a function of the incline or the respective gradient of the road.
- the object is achieved in that the saddle is height-adjustable by means of a first adjusting device, that the handlebar is height-adjustable by means of a second adjusting device and in that the first and second adjusting devices are coupled to one another in opposite directions.
- the bicycle according to the invention is characterized by a number of significant advantages.
- the mutual coupling of the adjusting devices ensures that the handlebar rises when the saddle is lowered or that the saddle is moved upward when the handlebar is lowered.
- This coupling of the adjustment processes ensures an always optimally adapted posture of the driver, in particular an optimal alignment of the driver's center of gravity with respect to the bicycle.
- the adjustment can take place fully automatically during the ferry operation, so that the driver does not have to dismount. He can react to different terrain formations in the shortest possible time. This is particularly advantageous for mountain bikes.
- the operational safety of the bicycle is increased by the optimal setting of the seating position according to the invention. of quite a bit.
- the lifting of a front wheel is prevented on steep inclines, while a particularly heavy load on the rear wheel can occur on steep downhill sections.
- the adjustment device can be hydraulic, but mechanical or electromotive solutions can also be used.
- the first adjusting device acting on the saddle comprises a hydraulic cylinder which is mounted in the seat tube of the frame.
- the hydraulic cylinder can be height-adjustable so that the height of the saddle can be pre-adjusted.
- the usually existing clamping device of the seat tube is used. Modifications to the frame are not necessary when installing the first adjustment device. This is inexpensive for cost reasons, furthermore the installation does not have to be carried out by a specialist. A weakening or damage to the frame must also be excluded.
- a piston is guided in the first hydraulic cylinder, to whose piston rod the saddle is attached.
- the height of the saddle changes depending on the level in the lower working chamber located below the piston.
- the other working chamber can be filled with air or, via a second hydraulic circuit, also with hydraulic fluid.
- a second hydraulic cylinder is provided, which, however, can also be designed as a double or twin cylinder in order to achieve a symmetrical structure.
- a piston is also slidably guided in the second hydraulic cylinder so that a lower, second working chamber is formed. This is over a hose line with the first working chamber of the first hydraulic cylinder in connection.
- the piston rod of the second hydraulic cylinder is articulatedly connected to the stem of the handlebar.
- the stem is pivoted on the steering column.
- a manually operated shut-off device which opens or closes the connection between the two working chambers of the hydraulic pistons.
- the adjustment process can be carried out or interrupted in a targeted manner.
- the volumes of the working chambers of the hydraulic cylinders are the same, so that the hydraulic fluid is only moved back and forth. A buffer etc. is not necessary.
- FIG. 1 is a schematic side view of a bicycle (mountain bike) according to the invention.
- FIG. 2 shows a simplified illustration of the hydraulic circuit according to the invention in accordance with the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1.
- the bicycle shown in FIG. 2 comprises a frame 1 which is constructed in the usual way. On the frame 1 is a rear wheel 20 is mounted, which can be driven by means of conventional chain drives, which are only shown schematically. A fork 21 is rotatably mounted on a frame head 10, on which in turn a front wheel 22 is mounted.
- the basic structure of the bicycle corresponds to the state of the art, so that further explanations can be dispensed with. It goes without saying that the bicycle is also equipped with brakes.
- a first hydraulic cylinder 6 is inserted into a seat tube 7 of the frame 1.
- the height of the hydraulic cylinder can be pre-set by means of a conventional clamping device 23, for safety it is provided with an upper collar 24 which can be placed on the free end of the seat tube 7 and limits the lowest position of the hydraulic cylinder 6.
- a piston 8 is slidably guided in the hydraulic cylinder 6 and is connected to a piston rod 9. Furthermore, the piston rod 9 has a connection block 25. As shown in FIG. 2, the latter is drilled, the piston rod 9 is also provided with a central bore in order to introduce working fluid through a hose 19 into a first working chamber 17 formed below the piston 8 or derive from this.
- the height adjustment of the saddle 3 depends on the filling state of the first working chamber 17.
- a second adjustment device 5 is also provided, by means of which the position of a link 2 can be varied.
- the handlebar 2 is designed in the usual way and in particular carries the handles for the brakes and a circuit.
- the handlebar 2 is firmly connected to a stem 26.
- the rear end of the stem 26 is rotatably supported at a pivot point 27 on the upper region of a steering column 11.
- the steering column 11 also carries a bearing block 28 which is fixedly connected to the steering column 11, ie in particular rotates with it, together with the handlebar 2 and the fork 21.
- a second hydraulic cylinder 12 is pivotally mounted at a pivot point 29.
- a piston 13 is slidably guided, which is integrally connected to a piston rod 14.
- hydraulic fluid can be introduced into or removed from a second working chamber 18 by means of the hose 19.
- the upper end of the piston rod 14 is rotatably coupled to the stem 26 at a pivot point 30.
- a displacement of the piston 13 in the second hydraulic circuit 12 thus leads to a pivoting of the stem 26 about the pivot point 27 and thus to a change in the height adjustment of the handlebar 2 and to a change in the distance of the handlebar 2 from the saddle 3.
- a shut-off device 16 is provided in the hose 19, which can also be designed as a fixed line. This can be opened or closed by means of an actuating button or lever 31.
- the shut-off element 16 is preferably closed in the non-actuated state, so that a flow of hydraulic fluid through the hose 19 is prevented.
- the bearing block 18 can be designed like a fork, so that it can be used to mount a front wheel brake.
- the second hydraulic cylinder 12 in the form of two mutually parallel, identically constructed cylinders.
- the volumes of the first and second working chambers 17, 18 are preferably the same.
- the driver presses the button 31 to open the hose 19.
- working fluid is displaced from the first working chamber 17 and passed through the hose 19 into the second working chamber 18.
- the saddle 3 thus lowers while the handlebar 2 is pivoted upwards.
- the driver relieves the button 31 so that the hose 19 is locked again.
- the driver opens the shut-off element 16 and leans on the handlebar 2 with his weight second working chamber 18 passed through the hose 19 into the first working chamber 17.
- the processes described can take place while the vehicle is traveling, and the height adjustment can also be infinitely adapted to the respective conditions.
- the saddle 3 or the first adjusting device 4 have an anti-rotation device.
- the invention relates to a bicycle with a frame (1) on which a handlebar (2) and a saddle (3) are mounted.
- the saddle (3) can be adjusted in height by means of a first adjusting device (4), that the handlebar (2) by means of a the second adjusting device (5) can be changed in height and that the first (4) and the second (5) adjusting device are coupled to one another in opposite directions.
