Definitions
- the invention relates to a stand for holding objects of a uniform shape, in particular sound carriers such as compact discs or cassette tapes. It is assumed that at least one holding part is composed of superimposed, similar components. These form horizontal side guides for the objects arranged around a vertical central axis. Such stands can be used both in the living area and e.g. used in shops, etc.
- Devices or racks for storing and displaying such objects are known in various designs. They are usually made of metal in a “column-like” manner, and the cassettes are arranged in slots one above the other in an approximately horizontal position. For a large number of objects, however, the height of such "pillars" becomes considerable; the objects are only partially accessible at a comfortable altitude, and problems with stability can arise.
- a stand of the type mentioned is known from EP-A-0 504 771. It enables four CD cassettes to be accommodated on one level and essentially consists of rails arranged crosswise to one another with U or I channels. fil made of slightly elastic material. The cassettes are inserted along two abutting, mutually perpendicular narrow sides between the profile legs in order to be clamped there. The rotatably mounted holding part must therefore be held in place when the cassettes are inserted and removed so that it does not turn away. Above all, however, with this type of holder, the objects protrude from the holding part with a corner, and there is also no guarantee that they are really held on two sides. Therefore, there is a constant risk that they will be pushed out or fall out even if the user is neglectful - and even when turning the holding part.
- the object of the invention is therefore to design such a stand so that it is easy and safe to use and the aforementioned disadvantages are avoided.
- the objects should only be stored loosely, but should nevertheless be prevented from accidentally falling out.
- a pleasing appearance and simple manufacture and assembly are also sought.
- the stand according to the invention which meets these requirements, is characterized in that for the formation of the holding part, rod-shaped components are provided which lie in pairs parallel and mutually crossing one another, wherein they have transverse grooves at the intersection points and are interlinked, and wherein the components of a pair form mutually facing supports for the objects.
- Fig. 1 is a view of the entire stand including the base plate on which it is rotatable. 2 shows a perspective view of the lower part of the stand which is under construction,
- Fig. 6 is a plan view of the upper end plate
- Fig. 7 shows a rod with a special cross-section stabilizing the mutual position.
- the stand according to FIG. 1 is composed of a lower receiving part 1 and an overlying (smaller) receiving part 2.
- Part 1 is specially designed to hold compact discs (A) in their cases (cassettes), while upper part 2 is used to hold cassette tapes (music cassettes).
- the stand according to the invention can also consist only of part 1 or part 2 alone or of more than two receiving parts.
- the stand is rotatably arranged on a base plate 3;
- an axis 4 (or a commercially available turntable or the like) is shown here schematically and is therefore not described in detail.
- This rotary connection extends into a preferably square base plate 5, which essentially corresponds to the upper end plate, which is shown in FIG. 6.
- the axis of rotation 4 coincides with the vertical, geometric central axis of the entire arrangement.
- the actual stand On the base plate 5 is the actual stand, here for the time being part 1.
- this like the cover plate according to FIG. 6, has an edge which is slightly lower than the likewise square central region 6.
- the latter has the dimensions of the square cavity, the is left free of the rod-shaped components of part 1 (and also part 2) to be described in the middle of the stand. The lowermost components lay against the vertical edge of this central area and are thus centered.
- rods are of different heights. 3 are only half as high as the rods 8 according to FIG. 4 and, in the example shown, also have only one longitudinal rib 9, in contrast to the rods 8, which are provided with two such ribs . All longitudinal ribs 9 are only on one side of the rods; the opposite side is smooth. The longitudinal ribs 9 face each other on a pair of rods and form horizontal supports for two parallel side edges or regions of objects A to be picked up. Construction begins by first placing two rods 7 parallel to one another on said central region 6 . Now two rods 8 are plugged on transversely to these rods 7, as can be seen in FIG. 2.
- all of the rods 7, 8 have transverse grooves 10 into which the respective transverse rods fit with their own, exactly identical transverse grooves.
- a stable base is created, which is also sufficiently centered by the central region 6 of the base plate 5.
- FIG. 5 shows how the superimposed rods are interlocked at their crossing points. From this it can be seen that the rod 8 shown in a partial side view receives a rod 7 in its upper transverse groove 10, while it itself with its lower transverse groove 10 on one the rod 8 lying below it rests. Since these two last mentioned, in 5 cut crossbar grooves 10, the rod 7 extends from the bottom of the upper transverse groove 10 even further downward. Analogously, the rod 8 carrying the rod 7 rests with the base of its lower transverse groove 10 in the upper transverse groove of the rod 8 running transversely to it, so that it protrudes further upwards from the lower transverse groove mentioned same direction extending bars 7 and 8 touch practically their entire length, which results in a closed wall, as can be seen from Fig. 1. The depth of the transverse grooves 10 must therefore be adjusted accordingly (see below).
- the rods 8 have transverse grooves 10 at the top and bottom, while the end rods 7, which are half as high, are provided with transverse grooves 10 only on one longitudinal edge.
- the distance of the transverse grooves 10 from the rod ends is given by the objects to be picked up.
- part 1 is intended to accommodate CD cassettes A on all four sides, as indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 1. Since the diameter of the sound carrier itself is standardized, the cassettes (sleeves) are practically of uniform size. Since they are to be encompassed on three sides in the stand, the respective distance of a transverse groove 10 from the rod end corresponds approximately to the side length of a cassette A or somewhat less so that the cassettes protrude slightly.
- all the rods are arranged in such a way that their longitudinal ribs 9 are directed towards one another. This creates supports for the objects to be stored, which are then inserted individually horizontally. However, a single plate can also be inserted instead, which corresponds exactly to the distance between the parallel walls and lies on the longitudinal ribs 9. A group of objects can then be arranged vertically on this, or e.g. set up any decorative object. The longitudinal ribs 9 lying above this plate are then unused.
- rods 7 can be stacked than shown in FIG. 1.
- the rods can of course be produced with more than one (rods 7) or two longitudinal ribs (rods 8).
- the entire arrangement can expediently be designed and sold as a “kit”, the stand being put together by the user first.
- it can be expedient to firmly connect two rods 7 of half height with a base plate 5 and / or with an end plate 11 from the outset.
- rods 8 of full height h and rods 7 of half height h / 2 are provided.
- the depth of the transverse grooves 10 is always a quarter of the full height, ie h / 4, so that the entanglement according to FIG. 5 occurs at the intersection len results.
- the vertical distance a between the longitudinal ribs 9 should be such that the objects A can be inserted comfortably. Since this distance must also be maintained between two bars lying on top of one another, it follows that the distance between the longitudinal ribs 9 and the upper and lower bar edges must be half, ie a / 2.
- the thickness of the longitudinal ribs 9 can vary depending on the material and the manner in which the rods are produced.
- the bar height h results from the above-mentioned rib thickness and the distance a, as can easily be seen from FIGS. 3 and 4.
- a square end plate 11 is placed on the middle opening, which is formed by the crossing bars.
- the plate 11 lies on the uppermost longitudinal ribs 9.
- In the middle it has a bore 12 and on the upper side a recess 13 concentric with this.
- the recess 13 is used to attach a nut (not shown) to the threaded rod 14 in such a way that the end plate 11 is centered by the nut and the threaded rod 14 and the stack of rods 7 and 8 of part 1 is held together.
- the end plate 11 also has a central region 15 which is formed in the same way as the central region 6 of the base plate 5.
- the end plate 11 On the upper side, the end plate 11 carries four pins 16. These fit into recesses in a cover (not shown) which, if only part 1 is present, serves to close off the stand at the top. For this purpose, it should have approximately the same diameter as the base plate 3.
- the four pins 16 of the end plate 11 serve there as centering means for rods from which the (upper) part 2 is constructed.
- This part serves as already mentioned, to accommodate other objects, in this case tape cassettes, which have different dimensions.
- the bars of part 2 also have other dimensions, but are otherwise constructed and constructed according to the same principle as bars 7, 8 of part 1.
- bars 7, 8 of part 1 are bars of half height with, for example, only one longitudinal rib and bars of full height with, for example, two longitudinal ribs, each of which carries transverse grooves for interlocking the bars.
- part 2 according to FIG. 1 is built on part 1, it also carries an end plate 11 ′ according to FIG. 7 at the top, which differs from the end plate 11 of part 1 only in terms of its dimensions. In contrast, the bore 12 and the recess 13 are the same. The threaded rod 14 must then be correspondingly longer in order to also be able to center and hold the part 2 together.
- a cover 17 On the part 2, also centered in the pegs of the end plate 11 ', there is a cover 17 (FIG. 1), which e.g. can be round or square and the dimensions of which are adapted to part 2.
- the material for the stand or for the rods 7, 8, depending on the intended use and location is, for example, wood or plastic.
- Plastic has the advantage of any color and also that the rods can be extruded as profiles of any length or can also be produced using the injection molding process. Large lengths of wood can also be processed efficiently, provided with transverse grooves and cut to the desired size. Because of its easy processing and homogeneity, so-called medium-density fiberboard (MDF) is also suitable as a wood material. However, this material is less flexible than wood or plastic. A profiling, for example according to FIG. 7, is then recommended (but this can also be advantageous for the other materials).
- MDF medium-density fiberboard
- Each rod has, for example, one or more longitudinal grooves 18 on its underside and a correspondingly protruding profile with one or more springs 19 on its top; the interlocking of these profiles or “gears” then prevents the lateral distortion hen or dodge the superimposed rods 8 and 7.
- the stand described is that, apart from the base, base and end plate, it is made up of only two types of bars. It can therefore be manufactured as an unassembled, easily transportable kit and sold in different sizes, whereby the rods can also be offered individually.
- the stand is not only suitable for the objects mentioned, but also for others with a uniform shape that are used in large numbers.
