APPLICATION FILED JULY 14, 1902.
%MKXM /NVEN7'0/? By i ATTORNEY WITNESSES *6 Wf7 1 3% M41 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES D. OROUTT, OF DAYTON, OHIO.
DESIGN FOR A STOOL-LEG.
T0 0% whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES D. OROUTT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dayton, in the county of Montgomery and State of Ohio, have invented a certain new and ornamentalDesign for a Stool-Leg; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and eX- act description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a side elevation of a stool-leg, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is afront elevation. Fig. 3 is a top plan view.
As shown in the accompanying drawings, the leading or material features of my design consist in confining the surface ornamentations of the leg to the upper portion thereof and in constructing the upper portion of the leg from a point adjacent to the center thereof much wider than the lower portion of said leg, so that the leg viewed as a whole will have the appearance of a long narrow body which terminates at its upper end in a substantial width or a width approximating four times the width of the leg below the center. The leg has two degrees of curvature extending in opposite directions, as at A and B. The outer surface of said leg is provided with two plain marginal bars 0 O, which curve outwardly and terminate at their upper end in clusters of curved figures D. Within these marginal bars 0 and upon the upper half of the leg there are provided two clusters of ornamentations F F, consisting of irregular figures. These two clusters F F are separated in the center of the leg by a bar G, which terminates at its upper end in a fork or spreading members. The lower half of the leg is provided with a central panel or bar E, which extends downwardly to a point above the foot. The upper portion H of the leg is projected in a horizontal direction and is provided with spurs I 1.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The ornamental design for a stool-leg as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
CHARLES D. ORCUTT.
