LAVINIA D. SIIEARS, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A GAME-BOARD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,454, dated October 4, 1898. Application filed August 27,1898. Saria1N0.689,708. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LAVINIA D. SHEARS, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for Game- Boards, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
The drawing forming part of this specification is a plan view of my game-board, one view being deemed sufficient to fully illustrate my design.
The leading feature of my design consists of a board 5, having a plain upper surface on which is formed a diagram consisting of hexagonal figures 6, said figures being arranged in three lines, the central line containing four and the two side lines three each of said figures.
The separate figures 6 of the separate lines overlap each other, as shown in the drawing, so as to form triangular spaces 7, and the figures of each line overlap each other, so as to form triangular spaces 8, and each of the end figures of each line is provided at its outer end with a similar triangular space 9,
and the end figures of the central line are provided at their outer corners with similar triangular spaces 10, while each of the figures of each of the side lines is provided at its outer side or at the corners thereof with similar triangular spaces 11.
The triangular spaces 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 on each of the figures 6 are similar in size and form, and each of said figures 6 is provided with six of said spaces, and the entire design is symmetrical in form, and the diagram formed as described may be of any desired color.
Having fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The design for a game-board as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name, in presence of the subscribing witnesses, this 26th day of August, 1898.
LAVINIA D. SHEARS.
Witnesses:
