UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HARRY S. VROOMAN, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR FIRE-BRICK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,289, dated February 28, 1899.
Application filed February 3, 1899. Serial No. 704,429. Term of patent 14 years.
T0 in whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HARRY S. VROOMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ohicago, Cook county, Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Fire-Brick, of which the followingis a speci= flcation, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a firebrick, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is an end view of the same.
As shown in the drawings, my design for fire-brick is rhomboidal in general outline. It is formed with the upper and lower edges a a parallel, but with the cross-diameter of the edge a slightly greater than the corresponding diameter of the edge a. The side faces I) b of the brick taper throughout their vertical diameters from the upper edge a inwardly to the lower edge a. The side face I) is broken at apoint beginning at about the center of its vertical diameter with an angular depression 0, which extends throughout the length of the brick. This depression is formed by inwardly-inclined faces 0 o" of equal Width, which meet at a slightly obtuse angle. The depth of the depression at its widest pointis substantially one-fourth of the cross-diameter of the brick. The side face Z) is broken by an angular elevation c, which extends throughout the length of the brick and corresponds in its dimensions exactly with the depression c'on the opposite face. The ends d of the brick, only one of which'is shown, are plane and parallel and exact coun= terparts of each other.
Having thus described my invention, what- I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for fire=brick, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
HARRY S. VROOMAN.
Witnesses:
