SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,313, dated September 6, 1898.

Application filed August-8, 1898. Serial No. 688,121. Term of patent 14 years.

Be it known that I, THOMAS P. GREGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Manhole-Frame, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part hereof, in which Figure 1 is a top or plan view of a manholeframe of the shape or configuration of my design, and Fig. 2 is a vertical section through the frame on the line a a: of Fig. 1.

The leading feature of my design consists of the unitary structure made the subject of illustration and having the shape or configuration shown and hereinafter described.

In the drawings, A represents the frame, consisting of a tapering annular throat a, pro vided with an integral base b at an angle to the frame a, and lugs c, with openings 0' between them and extending entirely around the interior of said frame and forming a ledge O for the reception of a suitable cover, which is adapted to be inserted in the throatof said frame and so as to rest on the said ledge C.

(l and d are semicircular recesses or grooves formed in one portion of the wall of the frame A, as illustrated in Fig. 1 of the drawings.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
