DESIGN FOR A MANHOLE-COVER.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,809, dated May 16; 1899;

Application filed April 22, 1899. Serial No. 714,116. Term of patent 14 years.

To an whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, THOMAS P. GREGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Manhole-Cover, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, in which Figure 1 is a. top or plan view of the manhole-cover of the design of my invention, and Fig. 2 is a transverse sectional view on the line a; m of Fig. 1.

The leading feature of my design consists of the unitary structure made the subject of illustration and having the shape or configuration hereinafter described.

Referring to the drawings, A is the circular cover, having the con vex-shaped bottom a, the inner surface of which is curved at a to the slanting and tapering inner wall n provided at the top with a broad projecting rim a with a circular flat-edge surface a, and the exterior surface of the wall of the cover below the projecting rim of is rounded at a, where it merges with the convex bottom, which latter is provided with four downwardly-projecting ribs 1), b, b, and b, as clearly illustrated in Fig. l of the drawings.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
