DESIGN FOR A PUZZLE-BOX.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,661, dated February 16, 1897.
Application filed January 2, 1897. Serial No. 617,844. Term of patent 35 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SIDNEY A. CRoss, acitizen of the United States, residing at the city of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and pro dnced a new and original Design for Puzzle loxes or Cases, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawingsfiorming a part thereof,
In the drawings forming part of this specification the separate parts of my improvc inent are designated by the same numerals of reference throughout the several views, and in said drawings Figure 1 is a plan view of a puzzle box or casing, showing my design; and Fig. 2, a central transverse vertical section thereof on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1, these two views being necessary to fully illustrate my design.
The leading feature of my design consists in a raised hollow seniispherieal portion 5, which is secured to or formed on a circular base 6, and around which, ata predetermined distance therefrom, is formed or secured a circular vertical flange or wall 7, which is higher than the central raised hollow portion 8.
The central raised hollow portion 8 is circular in form in transverse section and is so formed as to represent a portion of a globe, and formed in the apex or central upper portion thereof is a circular opening 9.
The base of the central hollow raised portion 8 is also a complete circle, and the space between said base and the vertical circular wall or flange 7 is of equal width throughout, and the entire design is symmetrical in form and outline.
Having fully described my new and original design for a puzzle box or ease, I claim as new and desire to seen re by Letters Patent The design fora puzzle box or easinghercin shown and described.
