ANTONIO PESSANO, 0F PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOI? TO THE GEORGE V. CRESSON COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A STANDARD FOR JOURNAL-BOXES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,589, dated April 24, 1900.
Application filed March 19, 1900. Serial No. 9,336. Term of pater: 14 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, ANTONIO C. PESSANO, of the city and county of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and original Design forStandards for Jourpal-Boxes, &c., of which the following is a specification.
My new and original design for standards for journal-boxes, &c., is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective View of a standard embodying the design. Fig. i. is a front View of the same, and Fig. 3 is a rear view omitting the upper portion.
A is a flat circular base hounded by an upturned annular flange (1.
B is the pedestal, rising from the center of the base A and carrying a widened head C, which is opened and formed of the two sides a c and the arched top if).
D D are vertical ribs on the exterior of th two sides 0 c, terminating in flattened heads (I, and e is a flattened head or cap on the top I). The lower portion of the pedestal B on one side is of larger diameter than the other side and forms a thickened portion E, extending over slightly more than half of the circumference and for only part of the Vertical height of the pedestal.
F is an elongated opening through the pedestal B, extending through the portion E and bounded on the exterior by a raised rib f.
The essential features of the design consist of the flat base A, with the pedestal B rising from the center thereof and carrying the open head C, formed of the sides 0 c and top I), with the vertical ribs D D on the outside of the sides 0 c.
\Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is as follows:
The design for a standard for journal-boxes substantially as described and shown in the accompanying drawings.
In testimony of which in vention I have hereunto set my hand.
ANTONIO C. PESSANO.
