DESIGN FOR A LAMP-BODY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,568, dated November 1, 1898.
Application filed September 24, 1898. Serial No. 691,827. Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES L. ZIMMER- MAN, of Chicago, in the county of (look and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Portable Lamp Body, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a side elevation of a lamp-body embodying my new design. Fig. 2 is a top plan view of the same.
As shown clearly in the drawings, the characteristic feature of the design embraces an upright cylindrical base (1, having a somewhat convex closed upper end a, joined by means of a short neck a with a transverse or horizontal cylindrical liquid-reservoir b, arranged approximately symmetrically above the base and provided at one end with a concentrically-arranged cylindrical extension 0, forming a flame-chamber, the line of juncture between the flame-chamber and reservoir being marked by a contracted portion 0' and the opposite end of said chamber terminating in a flaring or bell-shaped portion 0 within which will be seated the lens. At the upper side of the flame-chamber is a hood d, and at diametrically opposite points at each side of the flame-chamber are ornamental side lights 6.
