UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ORVILLE G. SERCOMBE, OF LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY.
DESlGN FOR A BOTTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,375, dated March 8, 1892. Application filed October 19, 1891. Serial No. 409,227. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, ORVILLE G. SERCOMBE, of Louisville, county of Jeierson, and State of Kentucky, have invented and produced a certain new and useful Design for Bottles; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part hereof.
The drawing represents an elevation of my design; and its feature consists in the peculiar shape of the bottle. The body of the bottle is cylindrical, as shown at (i, and on the lower end is formed a rib 7 and at the upper end a similar rib 5, a little narrower than the lower one. From the upper rib the bottle is cone-shaped, as shown at 4, to its junction with the neck. Above the neck swells out, as shown at 3, and is then cylindrical above the 2o swell at 2, and at the top a projecting rib 1 is formed.
My design consists simply in the shape of the bottle, and the relative proportion of the length of its neck, and the cone-shaped middle and ribbed base, and the arrangement of the various projections, as shown, the whole presenting a harmonious appearance to the eye.
What I claim as my design, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is the following:
The design for a bottle, herein shown and described, comprising the cylindrical body G, having the ribs 5 above and 7below, the coneshaped top ,terminating in the neck, swelled at 3 and cylindrical at 2 and having the top rib 1, andthe circular projection 8 upon the cone, substantially as shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 2d day of December, 1890.
ORVILLE G. SERCOMBE. Witnesses:
E. B. GRIFFITH, H. D. NEALY.
