Description

026-35 ALJ ZQl E- DESIGN. No. 29,789.
w. P. CBAHY. LAMP BODY.
(Application filed Nov. '7, 1898.)
Patented Dec. I3, I898.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WILLIAM I). ORARY, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A LAMP-BODY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,789, dated December 13, 1898.
Application filed November 7, 1898. Serial No. 695,756. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM P. CRARY, a citizen of the United States, residing in New York city, (Brooklyn,) in the State of New York, have invented and produced a certain newand original Design for a Lamp-Body, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof and showing a perspective View of the lamp.
The leading,r features of my design are the horizontal cylindrical casing or body, having the flared trumpet-mouth at the front and the swelled rear portion,su rmounted by a horizontally-disposed disk, the flared and beaded cap, mounted upon the body, and the deep cylindrical depending base, having the upper portion molded and beaded.
At the junction of the body A and trumpetmouth A' are a series of annular beads A", and similar beads A4 mark the junction with the swelled rear portion A2. Upon the top of the latter is a horizontal disk A5, carrying an arm A and nut A7. 4
The lower part of the cap B is flared outwardly at B to join the beaded and molded upper portion B2, and both are perforated, as shown.
The base C is deep and is mainly cylindrical in shape, having a diameter about the same as that of the body A and ornamented at about the mid-height by a broad band O of vertical reeds and at the top by the molding and beading O2. From the latter extends the neck O3, gradually diminishing to join the body A on the axial line of the cap B. A flat bracket like extension C4 projects rearwardly and is joined to the under side of the swell A2.
The arrangement and proportions of the several parts are such as to produce a pleasing eect of lightness, combined with solidity and compactness, and the whole is well bal anced and attractive in appearance.
I claim-- The design for a lamp-body, substantially as herein shown and described.
W. P. ORARY.
