UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES W. BECK, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A LAMP-BODY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 36,197, dated January 27, 1903.
Application filed November 29, 1902. Serial No. 133,288. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that LGHAELEs W. Enema citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, in the borough of Manhattan and State of New York, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Lamp-Body, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, wherein the single figure of the drawing represents in side elevation an embodiment of my design.
A lamp-body embodying my design is characterized by consisting of four main features namely, a lower base portion 1, an upper bowl portion 2, an intermediate portion 3, and a foot portion 4:. The base portion at a point approximately midway its height is convex, as at 5, and from this convex portion it tapers upward and inward, as at 6, to its horizontal upper end 7. This base part also tapers inward and downward from the convex part in a similar manner and terminates at the horizontal lowerend 8, this lower end being larger than the top 7. The part 3 is centrally mounted on the foot portion 4, which is formed with the outward and downward extending feet 10.
The intermediate portion 3 consists of the cylindric lower part 11, which is arranged centrally on the upper end of the base part, and from this cylindric part its Wall is convex, forming a pillar or standard which is smallest in diameter approximately midway its height and enlarges toward its upper and lower ends. The upper or bowl portion 2 is centrally mounted on the top of the intermediate part 3 and is comprised of the upward-flaring bowl part having the convex wall 13 and the cap-like part 14, which is slightly larger in diameter than the bowl part and which is tapered inward and upward to the horizontal upper edge 15.
I claim as new- The ornamental design for a lamp-body, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I hereunto aifix my signature, in the presence of two witnesses, this 24th day of November, 1902.
CHARLES W. BECK.
