ROVA E. ALEXANDER, OF GARFIELD, lVASHINGTON.
DESIGN FOR A THIMBLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,400, dated October 16, 1900. Application filed August 14, 1900. Serial No. 26,899. Term of patent 14 years.
To n.17 whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROVA E. ALEXANDER, a. citizen of the United States, residing at Garfield, in the county of Whitman and State of .Vashingtoin have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Thiinble, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to a new and original design for a thimble, and has for its object to provide a design of this character which is both ornamental and useful.
The essential feature of the design resides in a thimble provided at its base with a border and having sockets of different diameters arranged in areas extending from the border to the top or outer end of the thi rnble and tapering at such top or outer end.
In the drawings, Figure l is an elevation of a thimhle, showing my new and original design. Fig. 2 is a sectional view ofthe thiinble, showing the forni ofthe depressions orsockets.
Like numerals of reference designate corresponding parts in both figures of the drawings.
l designates a and provided beyond thiinble having a border 2 the same with depressions or sockets 3, 4, and 5, of different diameters, arranged in distinct areas or series, which are curved from the base to the cent-cr of the top of the thinible, forming rows of approximately spiral form. The depressions or sockets 4 and 5 are located at opposite sides of the depressions or sockets 3, as clearly illustrated in Fig. 2 of the accompanying drawings, and all of the sockets or depressions, which are circular, consist of irregular conical cavities or depressions, with the apex offset from the center of the base toward the border or bottom of the thimhle. The surfaces or areas having the sockets or depressions taper at the top of the thimble from thc sides to the center of the top.
What I claim is- The design for a thi mble herein shown and described.
