To all whom it may corwe-rit:
Be it known that I, GRANT BARNHART, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of (Juyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Salt and Pepper Oruet; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
This invention relates to a new and original design for salt and pepper cruets, and has for its object to provide a design of this character which shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design resides in a cruet having a square pyramidal base merging into a cubical body, which terminates in a shoulder with upwardly-tapering sides merging into a cylindrical neck, the side of said cruet having the representation of a ship thereon.
A minor feature of the design resides in the top of the cruet, which is circular and provided with a series of openings, the openings on one side of the top being of greater diameter than those on the other side.
In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, Figure 1 is a side elevation of a salt and pepper cruet embodying the herein-described design, and Fig. 2 is a top plan view thereof.
Referring to the drawings, the numeral 1 designates a cruet comprising a square pyramidal base 2, the sides of which merge into the cubical body at 3, and 4 represents a shoulder in the shape of a truncated cone, with its lower edges merging with the body and its upper edges merging with the cylindrical neck 5.
Upon the side of the cruet is the representation of a ship.
The top of the cruet (designated by the numeral 6) is circular and provided at one of its sides with a series of openings 7 and at its other side with a similar series of openings 8 of a smaller diameter than openings 7.
What I claim is- The design for a combined salt and pepper cruet substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
GRANT BARNI-IART.
