DESIGN FOR A BICYCLE-LAM P.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,762, dated March 16, 1897.
Application filed October 15, 1896. Serial No. 609,029. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it; known that we, GEORGE HAVELL and ALFRED G. \VILLIAns, citizens of the United States, residing at Newark, county of Essex, State of New Jersey, have invented a certain new and useful Design for Bicycle-Lamps with Scalloped Ornaments, fully described and represented in the following specification and the accompanying drawings, forminga part of the same.
The present; invention relates to a design for a bicycle-lamp. Such lamps comprise a body and an oil-cup secured to such body.
The distinguishing feature of the design is a scalloped ornament exhibited upon the rear end of a horizontal cylinder in the body of the lamp, upon the cap of the smoke-funnel, and upon the upper and lower sides of the oil cu p.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a front elevation, and Fig. 2 a side elevation, of a bicyclelanip embodying our design. Fig. is a rear elevation of the lamp-body, and Fig. l a plan of the same.
The lamp-body embraces the fOllt'DVillg features: the horizontal cylinder A, having convex-lens projection 13 at the front end, and at the rear end the scalloped boss I), projected therefrom and terminated by lat cylindrical boss E. From the upper side of the cylinder A projects the flaring funnel F, having at the top the scalloped cap G, terminated by the flat cylindrical boss II. From the lower side of the cylinder A projects the round neck I, to which the oil-cup is secured. The oil-cup is formed with horizontal central fillet J, above and below which the body is scalloped, the upper scallops K curving inward to the neck I, and the lower scallops L curving inward to a flat cylindrical bottom boss M.
The essential features of the design for the body are the scalloped projection at the rear end of the cylindrical body and the scalloped cap upon the top of the funnel.
lhe essential features of the design for the entire lamp are the scalloped boss at the rear end of the cylindrical body, the scalloped cap upon the top of the funnel, and the lamp havin; the central fillet with scallops above and below the same.
\Vhat we claim is- The design for a bievelelamp, as shown and described.
