DESIGN FOR A MEMBER FOR SPOKE-SOCKETS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,987, dated January 10, 1899-. Application filed December 13, 1898. Serial No. 699,183- Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, JAMES T. WATKINS, a citizen of the United States,residing at Mossy Creek, in the county of Jefferson and State of Tennessee, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Devices for Fastening \Vheel- Spokes to Wheel Fellies, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a new andoriginal design for a member of a spoke-socket, and is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a reverse View, and Fig. 2 an obverse view, of the member of the spokesocket.
The leading feature of my design consists in a member of a spoke-socket formed with an upright portion or flange having perforations, a ledge projecting substantially at right angles to said upright flange, and having an upright flange with straight side portions formed with perforations, said straight side portions being joined by a semicircular wall forming a semicircular recess having a flat I bottom.
1 indicates the upright or vertical flange,l1aving perforations 2, and the numeral 3 indicates the horizontal ledge. Extending from this horizontal ledge is an upright flange having straight flat side portions 4 formed with perforations 5, said side portions being joined together by a semicircular wall 6, forming a semicircular recess 7, which has a flat bottom 8.
Two members, counterparts of each other, constitute a complete spoke-socket.
My design presents a member of a spokesocket having a novel, pleasing, and distinguishing appearance.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is- The design for a member of a spoke-socket substantially as herein shown and described.
